I have a brought my European One S to USA. I am on Tmobiles mothly4g plan but my mobile internet speed does not go up more then Edge. Does my phone allow me to use Tmobiles 4g or at least 3g? I am a little confused with all the radios and everything, is there any way I can make 4g work on my European One S? Thank you!
I don't think the International one s has the tmo 4G bands. You'd be better off with like a straight talk att sim.

Hi everyone,
I'm currently in the USA for an internship and I'm tempted to buy an Inspire since it's so much cheaper than what it would cost back in the Netherlands. However I've searched a lot now and I can't figure this out.
Will the Inspire work on my network back in the Netherlands? I'm on T-mobile. I'm sure GSM will work and so on, but I would really like to know if 3G and even 4G will work back at home?
So, bottomline, buy or don't buy ?

Yes it will work but, if you want to use it on another gsm network in the Netherlands you will need to unlock it. I suggest you root it using the ace hack kit. I tested this method and I can say my phone is unlocked.
4G on the Inspire is HSDPA+ its just a upgraded 3g network. If your network in the Netherlands supports this you will have the same speeds or faster. Just check the freq for you home network with the inspire tech spec. I suspect it will work since its the same phone as the Desire HD sold in Europe.

Not if T-Mobile is your provider, T-Mobiles 3G/HSPA+ network uses different frequencies than the Inspire operates on. T-Mobile uses 1700/2100 for their 3G/HSPA+. ATT and the Inspire use 850/1900 (which T-Mobile uses for Edge). So with T-Mobile you'll get voice and Edge data, but no 3G/4G

T-Mobile in Europe uses different frequencies than T-Mobile in the US (probably 900MHz or 2100MHz), but regardless, the Inspire won't support them.

Good point. Looks like T-Mobile in the netherlands uses GSM1800 and WCDMA2100 - which won't give you high speed data on the Inspire
The Inspire does not suppprt 3g bands that are commonly used outside of north america, so while the phone will generally work, you can only get 2g (edge) data in Europe/Asia/etc..

but noted that the device can only be used with T-Mobile in the U.S. and is not 4G compatible.

Can anybody confirm this?
Why should it only work with t-mobile?
I got my phone from amazon, no branding whatsoever, carrier info EUR.
Asides from the display, 9020 and 9023 are the same right, so it wouldn't matter which one I own?
The thing is, I'll be in the US for several weeks and I was hoping I could use my phone for navigation. And at&t has a prepaid offer where you get 500 MB for $25, I couldn't really find anything like that from t-mobile, maybe they don't have a good mobile data offer on prepaid, maybe I just can't find it because their homepage sucks so much..
Would be really great if somebody could tell me with which networks you can definitely use the Nexus S in the States!
Oh, and if you happen to know any better/superior prepaid offers, I'll be happy to hear..

The i9023 will support the GSM bands only (Edge) not the HSPA bands for AT&T. You'll get Edge/GPRS with an AT&T Sim, but not 3G.
There are 2 versions of the i9020 - the i9020 for the AWS 3G bands (T-Mobile US and most of the world) and the i9020a (850/1900 HSPA bands) for AT&T and some Canadian carriers.
The i9023 should work fine with T-Mobile in the US for 3G data.
Actually, we are in China, there is 9020A for Canada ROGERS, the phone can support china 3G 2100 HSPA bands.
I have a samsung galaxy s 4g (T-Mobile label)
Model SGH-T959HABTMB (SGH-T959V) based on this info, is this a vibrant or a galaxy s 4g?
What is the difference?
This phone is rooted and unlocked. What pre-paid carriers can I use this phone with?
Thanks
at&t and it depends on what third party phone carrier you have in your area that supports gsm phones with a sim card
If I have helped you please Hit the THANKS button
they should both work the same. you can use this phone in att and tmobile in the us. att only gives you 3g speeds, though. abroad, you can use it, but it depends on the company. i think it works on vodaphone, but im not sure about the others. this phone works with the gsm network.
Check out simple mobile. Uses tmobile's lines, and 60 bucks flat unlimited everything.

Hello
I apologize now, i have searched but maybe im looking for the wrong answer
I have just bought a nexus s and rooted it via a great guide on here that works for all nexus s's the only problem i am having is now trying to find out what model i have as i bought it off ebay.
under the battery it says GT I9020
but with the A and T available i dunno which one i have.
I will provide more info if required but i dunno which one i have so i can flash the more up to date OTA (ie 2.3.5 + 6)
I apologize again and thank you for help in advance
Regards
Matt
Which carrier, can use 3G?
If ATT and 3G - a
ATT and no 3G - t
TMo 3G - t
TMo no 3G - a
Compare frequencies from your carrier with ATT/TMo if not in US.

ok so as i see it someone correct me if i am wrong
i have 3 g but i am in uk so
AT&T 3G = 850/1900Mhz
TMobile 3G = 1700/2100Mhz
I am on Three UK and they support 850/2100Mhz
Mock me if i am wrong but i am still confused to which model i have an A or a T
:-(
Check gsmarena.com
Att has 850-1900-2100
Tmo has 900-1700-2100
I hope this helps.
Can u take a picture of the model number in the back. Out of curiosity I wanna see how did that happen
Still both networks support 3G 2100Mhz and after checking what aerial mast is in my area with the network you guessed it its a 2100Mhz so i still have no idea on which model number i have :-(
someone give me a clue!
You have the at&t model. Even though they both have 2100mhz, Tmobile uses there 2100mhz specifically for the upload portion of HSPA+ while the 1700mhz is used specifically for the download portion, without both bands then your phone (any HSPA phone) will not register with Tmobile 3/4G network.

Hi all, im very new to XDA & have no knowledge of bandwidths. I just recently bought a HTC Sensation (not sure what model, but it was from a local guy). Had it unlocked so i can use it with my ATT plan. every thing was working fine except i had no data & couldnt send/recieve MMS. When first turned on, there was no APN settings on the phone, so i applied the settings stated in the thread APN settings for unlocked Sensation on ATT by mekajt7 on 09/05/11. Now i have data & MMS is working fine execpt my data is only 2G??
If there's anyone out there with more extensive knowledge regarding this topic, or how to get my phone to pick up 3G?? pleeeeeese leave a reply.
ive spent hours online reading about the bandwidths & ive been getting mixed results.... some said yes, it should work & most said no.
I'm in need of some answers
thanks for reading
the only way an sensation can pick up att 3g signals is if you buy one from canada made for their bell carrier. other then that all you can get is edge. if you want 3g or even better, 4g and be in the usa, you need tmobile
thanks for the reply kpholmes. yea, that's the same thing ive been getting from reading online for 4 hours. do you or anyone else reading know the model number for T-Mo's version vs. Bell's version???
i know it's 710a or 710e. but which is which??

The Z710a is the North American (NAM) version sold by Canadian carriers and it supports the 850/1900/2100 3G bands that AT&T uses.
The Z710e supports the European and T-Mobile 3G bands.

so, T-Mo's is neither of these?? or is it the Z710e??
im just trying to get the model's correctly identified
thanks for the reply
T-mo is the same as european and asian version, it wont work with at&t 3G which is probably what you have. You need to get the canadian sensation from bell or virgin mobile model number z710a. If you look at settings>>about phone>>phone identity, the model number of your phone should be there. If it is z710e, then you are out of luck.
So the Canadian version can use 3G on AT&T? And 4G?
