so i just got my sgs3 and rooted it and unlocked the bootloader, flashed twrp, wiped and went to flash the efs thing and cant find any of my zips i put on the phone...what do i do? can i flash a rom with odin(new from the htc world) or do i need to go back to stock?
Are they on the root of your SD card?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
i thought they were, i tried flashing cwm through odin and now i cant even get to recovery, downloading stock .tar now to try again but its a huge download...:crying:
SD card must be formatted Fat32 or none of the recoveries will see it.
it should be, it was in my inc and i wiped and formatted it before i put it in

If it is fat32 it should be able to see it. If you format with phone it will format to extFat. Put it back in PC and and click computer. Right click the sddrive and it should give you the format. Can't help with CWM since I haven't used it since Tbolt. I am using TWRP with no issues.
card was formatted correctly...did it again just to be sure, 1 hour left for the stock .tar...lol
is there a way to get the internal sd card out easily? to check that?
i am booting again...did the factory root 66 thing and im back, gonna try flashing again tonight and hope it goes better this time...
thanks for the help that you guys gave!

So I lost CWM recovery with the update to 1.10.7 Miui and was wondering if there is a way to start over that DOESNT lose my pics, downloaded files, and such from the sd card? I don't mind wiping the ROM but I dont want to have to reinstall all 10 gigs of pictures and downloaded files onto the phone again. Thanks!
Sorry man. I don't think that this is possible. The only way to go back to stock is wipe. Here's a link with the three ways to do it. You may need to PIT or not depending on whether you used Voo doo or not. All credit goes to prasadudwadia for making the compilation.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1293751
I know.
I personally was stuck with Miui because of the CWM "Red" being cut out. I had to install a "crap" kernal using SGS Kernal Flasher just to mess up the boot process just to get back in to "Red". After that was able to wipe/install anything I wanted. Don't know if this has been fixed, but was what I had to do.

When you Odin back to stock it doesn't erase you SD card lol only way to erase SD is if its corrupt or you actually hit format SD

I successfully rooted my Galaxy Note. When I attempted to install Cyanogenmod 9 I followed the instructions and deleted factory setting in restore mode and also deleted the cache. Next I was supposed to install the rom but now my phone doesn't recognize the memory card anymore. Both the backup I took using clockwork and the cyanogen rom are one the SD card. What to do? I would be very greatful if anyone could shed some light on this issue and help get my phone back up and running.
Kind regards,
Stig

I guess you have misread.. You are not supposed to do factory reset.. However.. Solution is,
Go to recovery mode..
In that go to storage and mount.. Then mount sd card..
Connect your phone to PC using USB cable..
Copy ics ROM file to it..
Now go to install from sd card and select the ROM..
Once installed wipe cache, and dalvik cache..
Reboot, it'll be fine..

Thank you so much for getting back to me. By the time I read your post I had downloaded Odin 1.85 and flashed Abyssnoteker kernel. That provided with me with access to clockwork recovery. However, although I now can find my backupfile that I stored before I attempted to install the rom, it does not appear to be working. When I attempt to run the backup file I'm given an error message stating that there is an "MD5mismatch!". I then proceeded to attemt to run Cyanogenmod 9 again and it uses about a minute to install and tells me that install from SD card is complete. I rebooted and everything appeared to be going fine but it's stuck in looping. Any advice on how to proceed?
Kind regards,
Stig
what version is your Galaxy Note? The AT&T version or international version?
Currently the international version is suffering from a brick bug that could brick your phone when you wipe.
Thanks for your reply. I have the international version (GT-N7000).
Are you "on" CM9 right now? If you are then, use Odin to flash a GingerBread ROM with a wipe.
Here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
Scroll down to post #4 and flash via Odin one of the Open Europe ROM Gingerbread ROMs. The ROMs comes with wipe so it will effectively reset your phone. Unfortunately that ROM will not be easily rootable, so go back up to post #1 and flash via Odin one of the directly rootable ROMs. Then root and install CWM etc.
I know this is tedious, but try it out and see if it works.

Hey,
i am a owner of a Rogers HTC one X (evita)
I did brick it, to a point where i'm stuck and don't know what to do.
My phone was already unlocked, with clockwork in, superuser and such, but i was rolling on stock RUU.
I decided to try over cyanogen nightly, wich i did in the past, and i felt like i want to give it a try again.
So i download it to my phone, open clockwork, install from SD ... everything worked like a charm.
Then... when i booted on the ROM, it shut down after the htc logo.
So at this moment i said.. well no worry i'll go see what's wrong. So i went back in clockwork.
I cleared the cache, dalvik and such... and i (yes forgive me for this one!) restore default settings .... and probably lost the ROM in the phone.
So... i decide to see if it's still in the phone .. so i went in "install from SD" ... then, cannot find \SD card.... shoosh.
I try to go in mount/unmount ... cannot find SD card ....
I still have access to bootload, to flash up some stuff. But whatever i do, i cannot access my internal memory in the phone ... Or transfert a rom (if there is a magic trick somewhere please tell me!)
SO i'm stuck with a one x with a boot that crash ... And a clockwork wich i can do nothing with.
Any clues?
Never mind, I misread, didn't see the part where you said recovery can't see sd card.

Plug it into a pc and format sd card the factory reset in bootloader corrupta the sd card. After getting sd card straight get rid of cwm and flash twrp 2.3.3.1, nothing higher... Then wipe cache from fastboot. Copy Rom to sd card and install again after wiping system, and caches from recovery. If you are on hboot 1.14 or higher with s-on you have to flash boot.img from fastboot.

That's cause cwm sucks on this phone lol. I did the same s**t with factory reset in bootloader long before the nocturnal fix came out. Took all day to figure it out. I found the windows format of sd card is easier than nocturnal fix and quicker

Well the thing his, i figure it out, was able to get access to my SD card with TWRP ... So i'm good now
But ...
Whatever ROM i put in, i dont have access to my touchscreen. I've red several guide on how to downgrade, and i totally understand how to do it.
So .. i need to get in debugging mode in a rom to start with (not superCID S-on) ... But how can i get to there if my touchscreen doesnt work ! ARGG !
So i'm trying to find a ROM somehow that uses the most recent touchscreen software .. So i can get in debugging mode and start it over.
All rom i've found i have no access to the touchscreen.
And getting back to stock is impossible (the RUU fail to install).
So what's next?
