So Im about to install the latest version of ARHD and I know there is a recommended radio but I read through some posts on that page stating that if your on TMOUS then that radio doesn't give the best speeds battery ect. What radio would everyone recommend? BTW This is my first rom im going to flash on my Sensation and I want a good daily driver.
Same here bro, I flashed the ARHD 4.1.3, tried 4.1.4 even the XE with beats, my signal has gone from good to bad after i flashed the suggested radio and im on Tmobile US. I was thinking of just going back to stock and root my phone to remove all the bloatware. Speed on the ARHD and the stock out of the box rom for me seems to be almost the same, i cant even really say if the speed has been upgraded when i flashed ARDH...and not to mention the "LAG" arhd has on my phone. Maybe its me who made a mistake on the steps of flashing, but anyhow ill just might go back to bare stock out of the box til i can find a good rom that will give me a good signal and better speed plus the sense feature.
The 10.56 radio and the 169 ril should give the best performance in the US
Edit: the nrg ROM is pre configured for us, and is crazy fast and smooth

Correct-RIL included with rom.
Check rom thread for supported firmware versions, perhaps you can downgrade slightly giving you a different radio.
You can also flash radio seperately, either by fastboot if you use Mike's or Kor-ah's packages, or by pg58.img in recovery if not.
Unfortunately radio performance is specific to device/rom/carrier/RIL so experimentation is standard!

Hey guys I flashed Bryans Cm10 rom and I am amazed. My sensation is finally lag free. I never thought this phone could be faster then the S2 but now it is.
Just so you know I have tried ARHD, ViperS, Cm9 and various other roms, so I do have something to compare too!

i am about to try my first JB ROM though not sure whether to use Bruce's CM10 or Franks AOKP version..
Does Franks always use the latest Bruce CM10 Build as its base? Cause it seems to be falling behind a bit in update frequency.
Lastly i do need Wifi HotSpot which is listed as not working in Franks though is working in CM10...
Would love to hear from someone who has tried both.
Decisions, Decisions..

What are the changes that the 3.33 has apart from 3.32? I have T-Mobile in the US and I am wondering if it would make a difference if I got the 3.33 firmware. Will it make a difference in phone signal or WiFi signal or will it make a difference at all?

Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda app-developers app
I've run 3.33 roms on 3.32 firmware and vise versa. There are problems with WiFi and Bluetooth on stock 3.33 due to two missing files. I've addressed both files in my version of 3.33. Without these changes you may have to set a static ip address for WiFi to connect, otherwise it will just hang without connection.
/system/etc/dhcpcd/dhcpcd-run-hooks
and
/system/etc/dbus.conf
are both missing in the 3.33.401.106RUU

Good to know you've had success running 3.3.3 roms on 3.3.2.531.
I've been reluctant to jump up to 3.3.3 firmware because of all the horror stories about losing wifi and not getting it back. This is from reading all the threads of people who flashed 3.3.3 firmware, tried a multitude of Roms, move back down to 3.3.2 firmware, and still don't get WiFi back. What is your take on that? (I value your thoughts and opinions when I see you in a thread. I abide by the Dude.)

I haven't gone extremely in depth in chasing down user issues lately, but I know that majority of wifi issues are related to users without s-off. More often than not, you'll find that wifi issues and htc-dev unlock go hand in hand. I've gone back and forth a number of times now and have suffered no such issues.
Now, as far as differences between 3.32 and 3.33 go... There are new kernel sources that were released for the 3.33 builds. Kernels built from these sources DO seem to work fine with 3.32 roms. There are no change logs released from HTC, so the only changes you could really decipher from source would be within the kernel sources manually. As far as any other changes between ROMs or firmware, nobody really answered because nobody really spent the time to manually dissect each and every file within the bases for comparison. It's just the way people think around here: higher number must mean better right? LOL
If you're happy with 3.32.531.14 then stick with it. There's nothing in 3.33.401.106 that is going to make your phone run faster or jump higher!

It changes the RIL. Simple as that.
It's not abslutely needed, but it does make it insanely easy. Th eother way to change the RIL is to download the RIL you want, boot to recovery, and flash it. GetRIL does it all automaticly from within the phone.
This is a great app for managing RIL's!

GetRIL compares your baseband and RIL and determines whether you have the best match. If there is a better match available it allows you to download and install the appropriate RIL. Dead easy.

It's probably the matching one. GetRIL will tell you which one that is.
But you can test them all.
