[Q] About Housing - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hello every one,
Few days back I got my phone's display broken and I went HTC to repair my screen. Unfortunately (in India) they don't have att hox display and they said sorry with the inconvenience (and they said its not possible even to import the display too). Now i'm end with my broken HOX,but i don't want really to be end like this (As i haven't found any OEMs on eBay too)
They replaced International One x's display to my at&T HOX just for testing (of course,it was lil small),well it was working fine!,So my question is,
Is it possible to change complete housing of my at&t HOX to International HOX and the display too? whether the camera and buttons adjust perfectly for that?
Thanks a million for the helping hand.

Lol.... Uh no. The at&T is slightly bigger and I just Don't see how it will work out. Ur saying putting like the whole international one x phone housing on the at&t version?...

you can get the XL Screens from China on ebay and other websites. it dont have to say AT&T lol. Any XL screen will work.

Just a few questions

I'm totally going to upgrade to a One phone. I'm on T-Mobile, and I'm kinda sad we won't get the MOA black version. But I'm curious, aside from its strength what other advantages will the MOA get compared to the Grey anodized version?
I'm case I decided to get the One X, will either of those versions get T-Mobile faster 4G?
And correct me if I'm wrong but.. The One X and One S here in the US is practically the same phone, the only difference being screen type and size (obviously resolution) and battery??
Also, I love the screen on my brothers Galaxy S 4G, is the One S similar, worse or better than that?
Does the T-Mobile version have dual microphone? One regular and one noise canceling?
Sorry, but no the One S and the One X aren't even close. The S uses an S4 chip, while the One X uses the Tegra3. Now if you meant the AT&T version (which is the One XL), then they are the same other than the screen type/size, battery, and I think the XL will still have 32GB memory unlike the 16GB on the S. Of course I'm half asleep making this post so please forgive me if I was/am wrong on any of that. As far as the mic goes I'm not sure.
On a side note I hate the fact T-Mobile isn't getting the MAO version.
I think the one xl, has a dual core processor, not sure of that, but I think i heard it somewhere. If that's true, i recommend de one s, as it's cheaper, and still an awesome phone.
Sent from a potato via tapatalk
Yeah I was referring to the One XL. I seriously hope the One S does have dual microphones. That would at least save it a bit from lack of MOA

I'm on Tmobile USA. The more I debate between the One S and the One XL. The more I lean towards the One XL which should work on Tmobile. One XL has an HD screen and a bigger screen over the One S. Plus the Front Facing camera is a tad better on the One XL.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda premium
I'm on T-Mobile too, and the only reason I'm considering getting the One S is due to price. I have an extra line on my account. My mom wants to put my dad in my account so that the whole family will be in my account. Obviously the phone would be way cheaper, especially if I go to Sams club or Costco.
If I get the One X I'm paying full retail, and there's no guarantee they'll sell it to me the week it is released cause they give preference to their customers or new customers.
Not to mention, don't know how long it'll take for them to get me an unlock code.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G XE with Beats Audio using XDA
I'm wondering if anyone knows if it's using the same TI wifi chip as the Amaze. That really hindered dev. on that phone since HTC isn't releasing the source for that.
How do we know that we are not getting the black version?
Alright I work at T-Mobile and my boss has a friend in tmobile that actually had a meeting with a HTC guy and he even held the one s he told me wonders about it but he also told me that in 2-4 months from release the black one will actually come to tmobile and that it was already confirmed so Id rather wait for the black one

So you heard from a guy who met with a friend of a friend that it's confirmed?
folks that sounds crazy.. waitin for a device for about several months just for another color?! i can understand that this is important - i personally would never buy the silver one, luckily living in Germany where it's no prob to get the black one - but in this case: i would order it somewhere else or live with it

i probably would not wait 2-3 month for the black version over the grey one myself however i can understand if someone does! first of all it's not only the color (and the more beautiful look) but also the texture and improved durability. if someone wants to keep the phone for 2 years maybe waiting 2 more month and actually get what you want might not be so crazy ... aside from that i consider myself also lucky living in a country wher the black unlocked version is already available
I can completely understand that it's an issue. just as mentioned: i wouldn't buy the gradient metal version either. but since i'm quite impatient i would definitely try ANY workaround but ok, i'm quite lucky not having to deal with this.. hope for you guys over there, that t-mobile is a bit quicker
Just to b clear we are all preety much coworkers I was just emphazising on the fact that it is someone ranked up to be tmobile's manager of all the tmobile dealers in my area he's not just a tmo sales rep like me and I dont even like my boss that much anyways

How bad is the quality control?

I just can't stop shying away from the One S and One X because of all the hardware problems. Namely the chipping and the signal problems and what not.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA
Given that I'm having to check batch numbers and serials before I feel comfortable buying the device, and given that I'm pretty sure it's just going to chip anyway, I can say pretty comfortably that the quality control is pretty bad.
So we have:
- Paint chipping
- Home button issues
- Signal complaints
- S3/S4 change (not really their fault)
The whole idea of the One series was they were going to focus on making three awesome phones for three different types on consumer - big and powerful, mid-sized and powerful, small and fast. That ****'s already out the window - they're addicted to making variations and moderations for different carriers as opposed to just sticking to their guns.
Instead of just the HTC One X, S and V, we've got:
- One X AT&T
- One XL
- Evo 4G LTE
- Droid Incredible 4G LTE
- Desire C
- Desire V
- Desire VC
- Desire VT
They freely admitted that their falling profits from last year were due to releasing endless variations of the same phone and not focusing on making a few good ones. Given that the One series has hardware and software problems, and given that they've already announced 9 different phones appart from the "Hero" devices, it's pretty clear that focusing on one line of great phones was lip service.
HTC: quit ****ing around and manufacture your devices up to the same standard of quality before you go back to suckling whatever carrier's offering you a small contract. You're screwing over consumers to chase small term profit as opposed to building brand trust and confidence.

any peeves for the Gnex? How's the screen?
And u didn't tell us how well the new replacement is working.
Only people who have problems will bother to post about it. So this forum isn't really representative of what the phone's quality is like. The only thing I would be worried about is the chipping (but if you're going through T-Mobile you can only get the one that doesn't chip any way). I haven't had any problems and I'm not that lucky (2 Sensations with dust under screen).

Gnex is great screen is clear and responsive slide thru the pages smooth,it beautiful and 4.65 is kinda big for some but I actually prefer the larger screens my only peeve is the storage I get total space of 13.33 on internal and the system takes the rest of the 16g it came with so I rely on dropbox to store all my pictures media and larger files other than that I couldn't be happier..I will add that The 1S only has a little under 10g internal available I guess the has to do with Sense taking up more space
As far as the new replacement goes the phone isn't rebooting anymore but they sent me one with an old baseband of 0.15 I had to run the Ruu to get current to 1.53 and 0.16 baseband still haven't received ota update to 1.84 already contacted t-mobile once because I keep getting wifi calling error ER05"invalid sim card" they managed to update it over the phone yesterday but I got it again tonite after reboot had to toggle airplane mode to get it to work-lock screen froze once on her tonite also had to do a reboot I am pretty sure I will be back at T-Mobile Wednesday its my girls phone I haven't done anything to either one besides set it up for her I did get the ota on the one I returned like I say the last 2 devices from Htc (Sensation/1S) are when I stated experience Quality control issues all the devices before that worked fine

MMM to each there own I have both devices atm and the Gnex is definely what I prefer but don't get me wrong I like Sense just not the quality in the last two devices and I am sure its part HTC and T-mobile I use my phone for daily work calls and messages both provide those basics well Damn but dust under 2 devices and the 1S coming with the issues I have experience so far are leaving a bad taste in my mouth

[Q] Help please

So i did it! My at&t HOX got shattered screen last night :crying:
Even though my screen's cracked, touch response of the phone is completely good!
Can anyone please suggest me,
1.whether it is possible to replace only digitizer or do i need to replace the whole set(LCD+Digitizer)?
2.As International HTC One XL and AT&T HOX have same hardware pieces,Is it good to replace my HOX screen with International HTC One XL? or do I need to replace with at&t screen's only?
3.If so,can anyone please give me the links to buy OEM LCD+Digitizer?
Thanks in advance.

Other threads on this topic mention that the screen on the international One X is different in size by millimeters from ours, and results in an incorrect fit (gap near the capacitive buttons).
Also, if I recall properly the screen and digitizers are glued together, and therefore nearly impossible (or at least a real b1tch) to separate.
Bump: for a great guy who gives me an external link to buy att hox screen(original)
they are all over ebay but no one knows if they are original or fake..

[Q] Would the AT&T HTC One X be the best buy?

So I am looking to get a new phone through AT&T and I was looking into either the HTC One X or the SGSIIS. I've never had an HTC phone, but my husband has and he said for what I want out of the phone it would be a good choice for me. He has a SGSIIS and I really like that phone too. So I want some opinions on some experiences with these phones. Please and thank you.

I love my HTC one x, and the screen is so clear and phenomenal. If you are looking to root then a variety of roms are available on these forums both are pretty good phones. Also if you are a workout freak like me then the HTC One X produces great sound quality through headphones and it's speakers with beats audio. Although htc one x has a non removable battery and no sd card slot. But 4 to 5 hours on screen time and 10 hours of power is fine by me. I think the battery is pretty good. Plus there is an array of roms in these forums and you can get longer battery. But if you bought the HTC One X + that one has 64 gb's of memory and a 2100MAH battery and is 65 percent faster processor. But If not the HTC One xl is still a great choice. Test both out in the store and see which one you like better.
P. S. Remember to post in question and answers thread next time. I guess they moved it.

Well, I can't afford either of those phones. That's why I asked about the One X and SGSIIS. Either way we have it figured out now. Radioshack has a deal on buying the SGSIII and getting a SGSIIS for free. Plus the One X requires a micro sim, which I can't get.

You should have no problem getting a MicroSIM if your new phone needs one. Either from the place that sells the phone (they should have them for new customers) or at any AT&T store. I've never been charged for a new SIM. A few times phone support sent me to the store for a new SIM to resolve an issue. Plus, depending on what type of SIM you have you may need a new one for a LTE enabled phone, even if you don't have LTE.

Why can't you get a microsim? Are you buying off contract and planning to use it on some budget carrier?
You realize you can cut down a regular sim card and use it in a microsim tray, don't you?

A few questions about the One X

I'm looking for a new phone. I currently have a Nexus One that I got in July 2011. It was a pretty good phone when I got it (despite it being a year and a half old then), but now it's really showing its age. I've rooted it and installed ICS, but due to the limited ROM and RAM on the Nexus One, there are some problems. Furthermore, I've been running into data connectivity problems with the Nexus One (that I believe are hardware problems related to age) that are really annoying.
Anyway, I've been looking at getting a One X to replace my current Nexus One. I really want to stick with HTC; my past two phones have been HTCs and I really like their build quality and design, which is why I'm looking at the One X.
Before, I dive in and buy a One X (which I will likely get used on eBay), I have a few questions. I have AT&T. My current plan is on an old family plan with unlimited minutes and messaging, with 300 MB data. I don't want to change anything about the plan, but I am pretty sure I'll need a new SIM. Will AT&T be able to give me a new LTE Micro SIM for free no questions asked?
Next, how easy is it to root and install custom bootloaders, recoveries, and ROMs on the One X? I know that HTC doesn't want us messing with things, but I'm pretty sure that I'll want to play around with new ROMs on the One X, providing I get one. After living with stock Android and things like CM and AOSP for the past two and a half years, I told myself that I'd give Sense a legitimate test, but if I don't like it, I'll definitely install a new ROM.
Last thing: white or dark gray? I think that both colors look great. I've seen them both in person and can't make up my mind. White looks really clean and is definitely something different, but I'll probably get a case for the phone which will cover most of the case coloring, so it may not make much of a difference anyway.
Thanks.
I honestly suggest going with the HTC one. If you get the one x from att or it's on the new firmware and wasn't rooted, you will be stuck on stock. The reason I suggest the one is that it'll be brand new while the hox will be a year old by then.. The hox is still good, but the end of it's life already came. I doubt HTC will support it further.

If you have had your current phone since 2011 are you due for an upgrade? HOX are still going for a good chunk of change on eBay and craigslist, I got mine a few weeks ago from radioshack for 99cents.
I've been due for an upgrade from AT&T for a while now, but like I mentioned in the original post, I'm on a family plan with my parents, who don't want to change anything with the plan and don't want to extend the contract out either. I've bought my past two phones off contract and I don't really have a problem with doing so for my next one. I'm looking at a One X just for this reason. For what it is, it seems to be the best deal off contract; I've been seeing them going for about $200-250 on eBay. If I were to wait for the One, I'd probably be looking at prices in excess of $500.

The Nexus 4 is my next choice after the One X. I do love the Nexus line and the Nexus 4 is a really pretty phone, but the all glass back concerns me a bit. It seems like it would be a bit too fragile.
Anyway, any route that I go, I'll probably have to get a new SIM. Will AT&T give me a micro SIM with LTE support?

If they're like any of the carriers here, you'll have to buy the sim. Usually around $10 I imagine.
I went from a nexus one to the HOX as well. A new sim was included with the phone when I got it. If one isn't included you can just go into an ATT store and ask for it. I got one for the wife's new phone that way without any charge.

I have been noticing that my Nexus One has been seeming to slow down a lot lately. I would go for the Nexus 4, but it's lack support for AT&T's LTE bands has me concerned. The One X seems like it's a best match for me. It has the HTC build quality that I really like, it has great dev support here at XDA, it has a 720p screen, and true LTE support. Even if I get a device with Jelly Bean that can't be rooted or unlocked now, I put my full faith in the community here. I feel like we as a group can work around the limitation and find a way to root the 4.1 One X.
Sorry for bumping an old topic, but I got my One X this past Saturday. I love it. It's a huge step up from my Nexus One. Everything about it just seems high-end compared to the Nexus One.
The screen is amazing; moving from WVGA to 720p is a huge step up; everything looks so crisp and clear, but that's to be expected when you have a PPI that almost matches a Retina display.
The phone is blazing fast. There's virtually no lag while doing anything at all, which couldn't be said for my Nexus One. It was a pain just trying to browse the web on the Nexus, but with the One X, it's a complete delight.
One of my main concerns with the One X was the battery life. The sealed battery doesn't bother me at all; I never replaced the batteries or any of my previous phones. With my average usage (about 30 minutes browsing the internet over HSPA a day [no LTE here yet], a few texts, and little to no calling, plus occasional WiFi,) I'm getting about the same battery life as I got with my Nexus One. At the end of two days of use, I was at about 20% battery.
Finally, my biggest concern was dealing with Sense. When I was thinking about getting the phone, I don't think the bootloader for v3.18/Android 4.1.1 was unlocked, but I believe it's now unlocked. I got the phone and one of the first things that I did was install Holo Launcher HD, my preferred launcher for a stock Android 4.x experience. To be honest, I can deal with Sense...for now. I've always used stock Android on all my devices, so this is my first time dealing with Sense (or any skin) on a daily driver device, but it's pretty manageable. I think I'll stick with stock Sense for the time being until I feel that I have to have a AOSP or CM10 experience on the One X. There are a few annoyances with Sense, but they're manageable.
Overall, I'm very glad I got the One X, and I don't regret the decision at all.
