Sorry, but I must be missing something here, but I cannot find any place in the honeycomb market app to write a review. I am looking at my installed apps, and I can't find it anywhere.
Edit : on another note, not all my apps are showing up in the my apps section of the market. I am rooted, and have tried the market doctor in titanium, and can't seem to fix it.
I can't figure this out either! I asked on twitter and the reply I got was "carefully" lol

You're not missing anything. It's not available via the market app on any tablets at this time. You will have to do it via your desktop browser, your phone, or as a workaround, set the default browser on the tablet, to 'desktop' mode.
Can't filter for honeycomb apps... Can't rate honeycomb apps from your tablet....
It almost seems like Google is actively trying to make the marketplace suck for tablet users. Either that or they are trying to obscure the generally crappy offerings for honeycomb that are available.
Thanks for the replies. It's pretty ridiculous you can't do this. I was hoping that I would be able to write a longer review like you can on the website. On my phone a review has to be very short, like text message length.
After long wait, LBE Privacy Guard v2 is finally available!
V2 has a completely rewritten core service, which makes it faster than previous version and consumes less memory.
However, due to the rewritten core service, the database format is completely different. So it's not possible to keep your configuration while upgrade.
Besides, LBE Privacy Guard v2 has changed package name (from com.lbe.security to com.lbe.security.lite), after you install new version, please uninstall older version.
---------------------
Change log for Version 2.0.1001
0. Fixed compatibility issue for custom ROMs such as CyanogenMod 7.1
1. Completely redesigned service framework with lesser battery drain and less memory usage.
2. Dual firewall support: Uid firewall for Android 2.1 and eariler, iptables firewall for Android 2.2 and later. iptables firewall allows you to configure 3G/WIFI permission separately.
3. Changing app permission now takes effect immediately, app restart is no longer required.
4. New traffic monitor allows you to track 3G/WIFI daily usage for each app on your phone. (you can turn it off if you don't need it).
5. Improved compatibility with Root Call Blocker
---------------------
Requirements
**NEEDS ROOT**
Works on Android 2.0 and above.
Tested on 100+ different devices and firmwares, but not tested on Android 3.0 and 3.1 devices.

I missed this so much and am glad to hear it works with cm7 now. It is available on the market on my HTC thunderbolt but It states that my Moto Xoom is incompatible. But it does work on the Xoom if I go to the site directly and download the apk.
Is it possible to manage LBE itself?
Can Android Firewall still be used as firewall and LBE only for permissions?

Thanks to the new design, although not recommended, you can actually monitor (and even block) LBE itself.
Personally I would recommend LBE's built-in firewall, but feel free to use any firewall app you want, LBE should work with them.

You say you haven't tested in on tablets, so here's my experience on an ASUS Transformer 3.2 with Prime: The application keeps saying "your phone is protected" every 5 seconds. It also crashes after I try to change the settings for an app and press the back button.
Curious: Why don't you test for? Can't you use the emulator? Or isn't that possible for apps that need root?
Ability to turn off bandwidth usage on the notification bar would be nice. Also, don't specify the text colour for the text on the notification bar. Thanks!
Can anyone provide a direct download link to the APK? Thanks very much.

LBE Privacy Guard
Nice, trying this out now.Thx
Very nice. It's good to see an app developed with privacy in mind.
I'm testing it right now, so far so good.
thanks for putting an off-market version
I prefer to use droidwall for firewall/iptables configuration...
However, even if you turn off the firewall in lbe there are a ton of lbe settings that keep getting written in the iptables.
Even after I format iptables the lbe settings get rewritten the next time lbe is run.
I will not be using this unless this is fixed.
Hi. somehow it stopped working for me.
I used it to deny the GPS for facebook app whitch worked perfectly but somehow it stopped working....facebook can get GPS again.....any ideas?

Best app ever!!
Great update. However, Dolphin Browser HD 7.0.2 does not work. The app is unable to access the internet both via WiFi or 3G. Permissions could also not be set because it's neither listed in the monitored nor trusted app lists. Refreshing the app list didn't help. Anyone else having this issue?
Update: I discovered that denying internet access to Dolphin's desktop toggle plugin causes the browser not to be able to connect (perhaps because the browser agent could not be sent thru the plugin). STILL, Dolphin is nowhere to be found in the app list. I wonder if that's got something to do with the browser's privacy issues which you can read more about here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319529&page=3
Update 2: Removing the pluggins installed made the browser show up in the app list.
Phone Stats: rooted, s-off, stock, BusyBox 1.17.1, Superuser 3.0.7
I've done a number of Google searches and searches here in the XDA forums, but I keep coming up empty for a targeted answer. So, new thread time, hoping a forum member has the needed info.
What I would like to do is view the Market in my browser (running Dolphin HD), without it cutting to the Market app when I perform a search, or choose a specific app to view. The webpage version has more info not shown through the app view, and I'd like to view this on my phone at times, rather than having to resort to PC or laptop. Putting Dolphin in desktop mode doesn't accomplish my goal, so there must be another mechanism by which the view gets punted from Dolphin to the Market app.
Note: I'm using the latest MVPS hosts file, and am unsure what effect that may be having on processes.
TIA for any thoughts or pawpoints in the right direction --

Addendum: Dolphin's tab feature is playing a role in this, in that a Google search for an app will shunt to the Market app view if I open the link in a new tab. Opening that same link in the current tab presents the webpage view of the app.
However, this doesn't explain why searches via the Market webpage shunt to the app view...
I have the Infinity - US version but running in Italy.
After experiencing some stuttering in audio playback and apps freezing - Launcher, News 360 and YouTube - I checked out the Asus Taskmanager Widget and found a few Apps running that I considered unnecessary, the key ones being [email protected] and PixWe. These two kept re-launching themselves even when I killed the task. They didn't start immediately but something triggered them!
Using the feature in ICS which allows you to disable apps, even those built into the ROM, I was able to get my Infinity to perform as it should. There were some apps which had been updated so all that was required for these was to uninstall the updates and restore them to the Factory version.
The procedure then, is as follows:
1. In the Settings, choose Apps and then ALL
2. Select the app you want to disable and clear the cache and any data it may have stored.
3. Force Stop the app and then tap the Disable button. You will probably get a message that doing so may cause problems with other apps, blah, blah, blah. Just click OK and then proceed to the next app.
The Apps I Disabled:
Amazon Kindle
ASUS E-mail
Asus Facebook Poster
ASUS MyZine
ASUS Sync
[email protected]
Black Hole
Chrome
com.asus.pcsynclauncher
Google+
MEar
My Uploads
MyCloud
MyNet
PixWe
PressReader
Splashtop Remote

I would suggest rebooting the tablet after you have disabled the apps just to make sure that unwanted apps are disabled and any associated task killed. You should find that what you have disabled remains so even after a reboot.
Of course some of the apps I disabled may be useful to you so you may not want to disable them. I would suggest disabling what you don't need or, if someone has more patience than I, try each app until they find the culprit causing the system to halt, stutter, etc.
I did this yesterday and up until now I can say that things are running extremely well. I hope that this proves helpful to someone and maybe even gives some of the devs a list of problem causing bloatware.
Thanks for this, there are a few interesting posts here and there on this too, so we could probably merge them into a nice list here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1807454
http://www.transformerforums.com/forum/applications/20011-asus-bloatware-crapware-can-disabled.html
And personally I'd add CMClient to that list:

The first two links relate to rooted and unlocked devices. This would be the path to take if were not worried about losing your warranty!
I thought that what I offered would cater to those who didn't want to root or unlock. For now it's a shortcut but personally I am waiting for further development of custom ROMS and especially JellyBean, assuming of course Asus doesn't offer an OTA for JellyBean first!
Sure, good point. But to add some info for rooted users: you can just go to /system/app/ and do sth like mkdir backups and then mv AppName.* backup/ for all you want to (temporarily) get rid of. It's better if it stays on the system partition, so it has the same permissions. Of course you could also change the permissions to sth like 600 and change the file name to sth like (apk|odex).bak, in case something will be looking for the filename in different paths.
These can be done in managers like Root Explorer, not necessarily the shell, of course.
(damn, ran out of thanks again, they could set a higher limit really ;>)
Why did you disable Chrome? It isn't installed by default so you would have installed it via the Play Store.

I'm not sure how I got it, now that you ask. I'll try to enable it and then try to uninstall. Thanks for picking that up.
Looks like it is a default app. I'm only able to disable it. It does not give the option to uninstall!
This is good advice. I had to recently factory reset because the background apps were killing my battery and my tablet's performance (Apex would literally crash every 5 minutes). Now my battery life is much better and performance is more buttery smooth. Really wish that there was a nice App that could just optimize my tablet and do all this in one touch.

Very good tip..
The boat browser is smoother I'm noticing.
Thank you

Vo01985 I think you need to uninstall the updates and then the option to disable will appear. Try it.
Yes that seems to be it, thanks.
Glad I could finally help someone. Have fun with the Infinity a lot better then the Prime
Wow, disabling the bloatware really does help... I followed your list and disabled most of the same apps, except a few that I do use (ie. Kindle). It's much snappier now, and I haven't had a lockup yet.
Thanks!!
Hi,

Ghorin look at the bottom of the column that lists all apps and should see the ones you disabled. From there you can re-enable them. Hope this helps

Mine started to lag quite a bit when I used Go Launcher EX. As soon as I uninstalled it and deleted the cached in Chrome browser, which for some reason accumulated 110mbs of memory and did a cold boot everything is so fast and smooth again I've always used Go Launchers on all my android devices. It must not be optimized yet...

Even after disabling the apps listed in my original post I was still experiencing lag and the occasional lockup. I thought it my have been "News 360" but this turned out to be victim rather than cause of the problem. I thought it was maybe the "YouTube" app because of the problems I had read that others were having but this too turned out to be a victim as well. Basically browser video playback was causing the tablet to lock up, the launcher to FC and even forcing reboots.
The problem app was in fact Adobe Flash! I unistalled it last night to test my theory and sure enough EVERYTHING is now fine. Of course it is no longer available as a download on the Play Store and I am wary of trying to reinstall / sideload it from another source. The version that I had installed was 11.1.1 . If anyone knows of the existence of a more recent version could they post a link?
In the end it's not an essential app for me but it does make some of the older sites a bit more usable until they fully update to HTML5.
Sometimes when surfing the web on my phone I end up either having the play store open with a suggested app or have the page I was starting to read redirected to another site informing me that my device is slow or a similar message.
I'm increasingly seeing these on different Android devices: My Nexus 5, my mothers S4 Mini and even my father owning a S3 sees these kind of adverts every now and again.
Tonight while browsing an XDA article, I was redirected to another page telling me that my phone was running slow. So I closed the tab, and tried to go read XDA once again, and again I'm redirected to this dodgy page asking me to download software. It appeared to do this until I cleared my cache, cookies etc. Was this a browser hijack!? I have scanned my N5 with Malwarebytes to be sure nothing was actually saved to my device and it came up clean.
I am using Stock 4.4.2, not even rooted. I was using Dolphin browser while browsing XDA when this occurred. My question is: how can I prevent this from occurring again? I am fairly sure my phone isn't home to any malware as I always scrutinise apps and their permissions prior to installation.
Sent from my Nexus 5
Hmm. I have no idea what Dolphin does as far keeping up with browser exploits and how well it does as far as security related stuff.
What I use is Firefox with http://noscript.net/nsa/ and https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/self-destructing-cookies/ (but mobile version).
Once when I was malware hunting shady sites I did get a different result when checking said sites with my phone (they have some malware distribution sites smart enough to check the browser's User Agent to see what the person is using). Basically it started showing me a scare-ware sort of "Scan now to fix virus!" sort of app, which I then just uploaded to VirusTotal (they share the findings with AV providers).
Specially when im on XDA Developer with Boat Browser sometimes automatic open PlayStoreApp with Cleanmaster or something.
Often popup like Whatsapps beeing expired,
u got virus popup !!??
some strange behavior !!
only on XDA Developer Side !?
Any solution !?
