[Q] Method to view Market in browser ONLY? - T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide

Phone Stats: rooted, s-off, stock, BusyBox 1.17.1, Superuser 3.0.7
I've done a number of Google searches and searches here in the XDA forums, but I keep coming up empty for a targeted answer. So, new thread time, hoping a forum member has the needed info.
What I would like to do is view the Market in my browser (running Dolphin HD), without it cutting to the Market app when I perform a search, or choose a specific app to view. The webpage version has more info not shown through the app view, and I'd like to view this on my phone at times, rather than having to resort to PC or laptop. Putting Dolphin in desktop mode doesn't accomplish my goal, so there must be another mechanism by which the view gets punted from Dolphin to the Market app.
Note: I'm using the latest MVPS hosts file, and am unsure what effect that may be having on processes.
TIA for any thoughts or pawpoints in the right direction --

Addendum: Dolphin's tab feature is playing a role in this, in that a Google search for an app will shunt to the Market app view if I open the link in a new tab. Opening that same link in the current tab presents the webpage view of the app.
However, this doesn't explain why searches via the Market webpage shunt to the app view...

[Q] [Req] Chrome extension that turns Market links into Appbrain links

I'd be very happy if someone Chrome extension that turned all "market://search?q=[app.name.here}" links (either text or image) on a page into "http://www.appbrain.com/search?q={app.name.here}" links.
This would make it much easier for Fast Web Installer users. Instead of having to
a) Find the phone, open Barcode Scanner, scan the qr code and press the
or
b) Open Appbrain.com and type in the app name
Wouldn't it be much easier to just
c) Click the link
and get to the Appbrain market description, just like that?
Sounded cool. So, I wrote my first GreaseMonkey script to do it.
BTW, while testing this, I discovered that the Firefox add-on Fox To Phone sends market links straight to your phone by default. This can be turned off though.
So, a link or two or three to test. Note: the first of these doesn't work on AppBrain. This is an issue with AppBrain. If you enter the package name in the search box, it won't find the app either.
The script is here. I plan to look into some of the other options in a market link and try to improve it further.
BTW, I've only tested this in Firefox. Don't have Chrome on this machine.
Edit: Added support for publisher links. Google describes hybrid links as well. But, the docs aren't even clear on how to format them. I'm not going to try supporting them.
Edit2: That sucker changes the links within the WYSIWYG editor here. I had to put them back in the source mode editor.
This extension converts links like market:// into links to web-based Android Market, AppBrain or Cyrket.

Sorry but are you jokeing you have loads of the same type of apps. Close the thred.
Sent from my Pulse Mini using Tapatalk
No I am not jokeing and I know I have some apps of the same kind and that is why I am asking the members which one they thing I should keep and which one I should remove.
Do the brave thing and delete everything. You'll soon realise what you need.
Seriously, I stopped reading the list when I saw, like, 5 news readers. Keep Pulse (or your favorite if it's not pulse), and delete the rest. Delete any news apps, and find the address to its RSS feed. Add those feeds to whatever reader you kept, and you've already eliminated at least 5 redundant apps.
Use the same strategy for everything else. You should be able to tell when two apps are doing the same thing. Just pick your favorite and delete the rest.
Edit: Are you kidding me? 5 or 6 file managers. I would stick with Root Explorer or SU and delete the rest.
I'm gonna leave it at that, because that is way too many apps. Good luck streamlining.
Looks like a list of downloaded warez, and you're just trying to figure out which ones to use.

AAAH! MY EYES THEY BURN! dude litterally. what are you tryin to do go app crazy? CM6.1 has it's own file manager that works great (once the full version comes out i'll be happy) as for all the double apps get rid of em. literally why so many apps. only keep the ones you will use not the ones that will sit and collect fragmentation (hahaha fragmentation kinda like dust is to objects).

I was thinking the same thing when I saw both Root Explorer and SU on the list, not to mention all the other duplicate-function paid apps.
@OP: You should listen to the dude who said to delete everything and start from scratch. And with no wares this time.

Do you have all of these apps installed and running on your phone?
Sounds like you would have some performance issues with these apps, narrow the list.
Do a Google search for the "app" name + "Android review". When I am looking to accomplish a certain task, I Google that on some review site. This will narrow your scope.
I have not, I repeat I have not downloaded these apps from waez or as a package but spent time on appbrain and install each and EVRY app I listed and tried them, th initial liost was 500+ apps, I have narrowed to 200 apps, I just wanted to know which ones people think are the ones worth keeping, the reason I have shortlisted these are because I like the functionality and Ui, however it could happen that some function is available in app x and also in appy but I don't know yet (not played enough), but people on the forum are able to point that out.
Most of the apps listed are highly rated and popular.
I have updated the list by cutting down on some apps.
i will give reason for each app, once i find some time.
That's defo a warez list lol.
You wouldn't have listed all the free version and paid versions if not.
No way you'd have paid for all those apps without trying them.
Made me lol in rl.
Use whichever you feel more comfy using.
Good luck
edit... quick Google search I just found your current list in a wares torrent. In the same order.... Lol

And for every app group (be it warez or not), there is not simply an app that beats them all. It all depends upon your interests and personal preferences, and no one but you can decide what is the app out of a group that fits you most. So please stop asking others to do a work you only can do yourself.

I have actually been felt very offended by the fact that members feel that I am using from torrent or warez. As proof here is the list on appbrain:
appbrain .com / user / mohitgarg / need-to-test-install
appbrain .com / user / mohitgarg / faved
And mr leetvtr, eff off, i could find the apps u use in a torrent too.
If I wanted to keep them and be a horder I would not have listed them, the whole purpose was to get input from people about what they feel about an app and if they would discourage the use of a particular app for some particular reason.
I actually did try all of them for less than 22 hours (paid) as I wanted to try and then get a refund, thus didn not have enough time to play with them, but these r the ones i liked in terms of first impression. I actually have tried many more (paid too) apps but did not like them and thus needed your help, what a friendly society, really!
Cut down to one newsreader. For social apps, I'd use Facebook, TweetCaster, GoChat, and Tapatalk.
This combination provides the best coverage of features with the smallest footprint on your phone.
I would also go with Winamp for music, and YXPlayer for movies, since they each offer the best quality and broadest compatibility of their respective media types. I'd also cut down to just Astro and Root Explorer for file managers. While Astro may seem redundant, it's been beneficial to me to have a "pedestrian" file manager, and I also find Astro's zip manager more reliable. Only keep the Google Apps you are actually going to use. I can almost guarantee Google Sky and Goggles will just end up collecting dust in your app tray. The majority of the apps you have listed are pretty specific in purpose. If you aren't using then, and aren't sure if you need them, back then up with AppMonster and uninstall them. You'll always have then to reinstall from your SD if you every want to try then again. That's about all the advice I've got.

Thanks for the constructive criticism, higly appreciated.
I have updated the list, need more suggestions.

[Q]Android Market links for direct download?

Hey all, new poster here, ran into a problem I couldn't just solve by lurking.
Trying to create a short list of URLs to go directly to the Accept & Install page to rapidly re-install apps via the Android Market.
Right now, I know how to do this:
market: / / details?id=com.product.name
which pulls the details page.
What I want to do is something like this:
https : / / market.android.com/details?id=com.product.name&feature=search&rdid=com.product.name&rdot=1
Where the above link takes you directly to the accept & install page when the phone is signed into a google account (and the phone is compatible with the app.)
My question:
Is there a way using the simple scripting above to go directly to the install page instead of the details page, redirecting the phone's browser by market:// instead of https://
Could I even drop the details?id and use a different command instead?
Thanks in advance.
I just use the appbrain app - it will allow you to re-install quickly - and you don't have to accept everything again.
Why not just use titanium backup? It backs up not only the app but the data as well.

App Associations

Okay on my Rezound running an ICS leak, in the setting section under Apps there is a setting called App Associations.
And in this setting there is something called Web URLS, that lets you set the intent of clicking on web URLS to your browser of choice. Now this setting has the browsers that are installed as choices. But the major problem is that this setting now opens all YouTube links and Play store links with the browser, not the YouTube app or Play Store and doesn't give a choice in the matter.
My question is that is this limited to the Rezound? I don't have these setting choices on my Xoom, but that is running 4.0.0 and I haven't updated it in a while.
Also, how do I get the app to open links? Reseting the default in the app setting for the browser doesn't do anything, it seems as though App Associations takes over for that.
Anybody?
Am I going crazy>?
I don't know the specifics of your phone, but you might try a trick I've used with other apps on other phones (okay, with one app on one phone).
Start off by configuring it to use the youtube player (or whatever site-specific app you want) for web url's. Then launch a link that's not supported by youtube. If you're lucky, it'll come up with a prompt saying 'that's not supported, what app do you want to use instead?'. At that prompt, you'd select the app you want to use for non youtube pages.
Disclaimer: I'm a noob myself with smartphones/tablets, so all of my advice is nothing more than logic-guided guesswork.

Question Changing internet traffic to different browser than chrome

Hello guys as im not sure which section this thread should be in but since I'm p7p user with root i chose to go here.
Here's the problem Im facing.
I downloaded brave browser and set it to default browser.
Yet google (and all it apps like to use chrome for internet traffic like opening website from google feed).
Only possible way to divert everything is by disabling Chrome. But doing that you Will lose saved passwords pop up.
So is there any other possible way to change these settings or maybe a rooted app i can use to change system preferences.
Cheers and thanks
