hey there,
so ther're many users with s3 phones and nobody made unbrand his device trough super CID or any other CID change? All s3 users, me including are f.... up, they cannot flash fresh firmware or radios without unbranding their devices.
So is there anybod out there, who have a clue or is working on it?
Use the thread in the development section..

If you had tried it, you wouldn't come up with that advice. Because, the only available method is demonstrably not working on s3 devices.
So the s3 users are still looking for a solution.

Waht kind of crap?
Bootanimation/splash is hard to remove.
To delete apps from Vodafon or apps from htc (amazonmp3, navi preinstalled) you have to root - after rooting they are "normal" apps to uninstall.
root:
1) s-off your phone (should have be done with your gaoldcard)
2) search for onclickroot here on xda
done
Hmm.. is your desire s s-off? If yes then just flash the original HTC ROM Ruu! Just look it up in this forum! For me it worked well! Even my T-Mobile splashscreen disappeared!

i have created goldcard, but im not sure what to do.. if I need s-off or root...
Just install the ics ruu off the hec dev website. That will remove the branding.
But unfortunately HTCDEV ICS for desire S has bugs... like link clicks on SMS and other stuff, from what i have read.
It is not possible just to install a WWE rru like "RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.9_Radio_20.4801.30. 0822U_3822.10.08.04_M_release_234765_signed" with the a goldcard inserted on the phone? If what it is needed is just to unbrand the phone, without having root or other stuff... or is it need to Hboot S-OFF unlock from HTCDEV? please advise.

Edit: from fastboot i got CId = VODAPD18 which it means Vodafone Portugal. Is it possible to run above RRU + goldcard with no / little risk of bricking ?
Please, I need some basic help:
I have a HTC One V, he's unlocked bootloader and root.
I unlocked my bootloader using a tutorial that is here Forum HTC One S. Same method.
Now I want to install ROM an official from another country (I want a European ROM).
I need to lock the bootloader again?
Can I install this ROM for HTC Sync?
Could anyone help me with this question? Thank you for your attention.
(Please do not move the question for another forum, because no one in another forum, and devices V and S are nearly equal.)
Thanks.
for official ROMs you need an RUU. whether or not a One S RUU will run on a One V device is unknown..
RUU's can be found in development section

But, and the question about bootloader:
I need lock bootloader again, or not?
HTC Sync install RUU, with bootloader unlock ?
Thanks !
yeah. i have done it like that.. you should be fine..
but if your flashing One S stuff on a One V there is no guarantee it will work
you take the risk flashing files meant for a different phone.

hi guys,
I recently bought an AT&T One X w/ 2.20 firmware.
just wanted to know if I can flash any ROMs on the 2.20 firmware ? I'm a little confused between what is possible and what is not.
If I can flash ROMs, then I possibly dont want to root/unlock. If not, Can I unlock the 2.20 firmware using HTC-Dev (warranty voided) ? I cant seem to find One X in the dropdown at http://htcdev.com/bootloader/
Could somebody help ?

Nope. You can enjoy the phone as stock and that's all. No root, no custom roms

Simple, you can't do jack if your phone was shipped with 2.20.
Since AT&T is not allowing the bootloader to be unlocked by HTCDev.com. The workaround was to change the CID to SuperCID and fool the system, but root is needed to do that.
So you are out of luck until either a root is found for 2.20, or AT&T allows the bootloader to be unlocked. Or if S-Off is achieved.
OK. I got confused because there were all these articles that talked about unlocking the bootloader using HTCDev.
Nothing i didnt expect - any ideas on when HTC will allow bootloader unlock? Im assuming that the launch of One X+ makes this old enough to be let free

Hard to say, its all about what AT&T wants. All other carriers are bootloader unlockable out of the box. Its not based on any set policy, and AT&T has not made any announcement on when (if ever) they will allow it to be unlocked. They did a similar thing with the HTC Vivid. But allowed it to be unlocked about 3 months after the phone was released. That time period has long come and gone (One X was released in early May).
Hi all. I have tried to use the official HTC program to unlock the boot loader but can't get it to work. Think it is my computer that it doesn't like it or just me that's thick lol.
Is there anyone on here in the UK that can do the whole process for me?. I want a non sense Rom installing. One that works well...
It's not that I haven't tried... I have flashed my wildfire, hd2, galaxy tab and galaxy note but just can't seem to manage the sensation. It has the latest software with 1.27.0000 hboot.
Thanks in advance, Scotty.

I don't think the HTC Unlock works with teh 1.27 bootloader. But tha's good because you don't want the HTC Unlock anyway as it's very limited in what it unlocks.
There are other tricks to unlock it properly. Search for the "paperclip trick". That should get you whre you need to be.

Hi everyone!
Just bought a new HTC One SV which is branded by Vodafone Spain. I unlocked the phone by using an unlock code and now I want to install a stock ROM, either world or european ROM, but I can't seem to find anything for 4.2.2.
Would greatly appreciate any help!
LE: Apologies, but I forgot to mention that the phone is S-ON.

Welcome to the community, please, for future reference, refer all questions you may have over at 'HTC One SV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting'.
Your phone is currently stock right now, so may I ask why you would want to install another stock Rom?

Apologies, noted.
The phone is branded by Vodafone and has tons of apps that I'll never even touch. Just want to put a stock ROM, without any other 3rd party apps. Moreover, after 4.2.2 was released for this model had to wait a bit over two months to get the update.

Ah, so in lamen terms, you want a Rom which has been made by another Individual, but has already removed all the bloatware. Is this correct?

Its the same thing, unbranded phones, from my experience, do not contain a bunch of bloatware (unwanted apps) which normally comes from the company provider after given to them by HTC. If from HTC directly, its strictly what they produce and offer without the extras from other companies. I looked at @old.splatterhand index, and I see only two Roms available which are 4.2.2. Now whether they come with or without the bloatware I cannot say, as I have a K2_CL device. Though, I do believe that the 4.2.2 K2_UL does not contain any bloatware from going off the top of my head - because o have used it before in the past to adapt it for use on our K2 variant.
old.splatterhand, you are more familiar in this area than myself since I focus more on Boost and Cricket. Feel free to chime in and correct me where correction is due buddy.

We need to be more clear, what @Nihtilan exactly wants.
The 422 roms (k2u & k2ul) are both unbranded, no provider apps and something like this.
They can be flashed also S-On, but firmware files are also needed to flash, if the device wasn't on 422 already.
Or the other way is a completely unbrand:
S-Off -> SuperCID -> hboot downgrade -> EU unbranded RUU.

Thanks for the reply, and yea, I didn't bother to include the firmware info because he had already mentioned that he received the 4.2.2 update even though it took him a while to get it. I figured it would had been too much info and probably would have caused some confusion. I appreciate the timely response.

That's exactly what I want to do.
I would like to put either a 4.2.2 World or Europe unbranded RUU.
How do I do that? Is it possible without S-OFF?
PS: Apologies for the late reply.
LE: I remember when I had a Wildfire S, when I unbranded the phone I just had to create a gold card and put the RUU on it and it was very easy. I reckon things have changed a bit in the meantime..
So thats the way to go: S-Off -> SuperCID -> hboot downgrade -> EU unbranded RUU.
And no chance without S-Off.
Use the search (inside the HTC ONE SV Forum) with the words "hboot downgrade". There should be many results that describe the way more detailed.
This might be a noob question, but what's the difference between K2_U, K2_UL, etc.? Also, could you please direct me to some threads? Had a look through quite a few and I'm not really sure where to start.
Thank you.
LE: Ok, did a bit of research and my phone is K2_U. Also, I couldn't find S-OFF for 4.2.2.
Get S-Off with http://rumrunner.us (Universal version).
Get SuperCid with fastboot command:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid 11111111
Go to this thread, read and follow the instructions there.
All done!
Thank you very much for your help!
You're welcome.
Glad, that it worked for you.
