Please, I need some basic help:
I have a HTC One V, he's unlocked bootloader and root.
I unlocked my bootloader using a tutorial that is here Forum HTC One S. Same method.
Now I want to install ROM an official from another country (I want a European ROM).
I need to lock the bootloader again?
Can I install this ROM for HTC Sync?
Could anyone help me with this question? Thank you for your attention.
(Please do not move the question for another forum, because no one in another forum, and devices V and S are nearly equal.)
Thanks.
for official ROMs you need an RUU. whether or not a One S RUU will run on a One V device is unknown..
RUU's can be found in development section

But, and the question about bootloader:
I need lock bootloader again, or not?
HTC Sync install RUU, with bootloader unlock ?
Thanks !
yeah. i have done it like that.. you should be fine..
but if your flashing One S stuff on a One V there is no guarantee it will work
you take the risk flashing files meant for a different phone.

I downloaded the RUU original HTC One V.
I will install using the HTC Sync then, since i do not need S-ON again.
Thanks for help.
I think your supposed to install RUU's through fastboot

I was planning to install CM7.1, then realised that the update from HTC changed the HBOOT along with the Sense 3.0 update. But apparently the bootloader can be unlocked officially by HTC.
Question is, how do I install a custom ROM with this method? I'm assuming you need to install CWMR, which needs root. Then use that to flash the ROM. Can anyone who has used this method tell me exactly how it's done on the Desire S?
Help is really appreciated, thank you.

Hello,
I can not find the original HTC One S Rom (RUU):
RUU_Ville_U_HTC_Europe_1.53.401.2_Radio_0.15.31501S.19_10.12.31501S
When is the HTC Sensation Rom on her ONE S Rome-based, but there is no download?
Where can I download it?
this was no update rom and is therefore not directly available. someone in this forum wanted to upload a dump though.
you can get most of it in the virtuous rom at rootzwiki...
I found this rom!
http://androidz.jimdo.com/2012/04/01/custom-rom-virtuous-one-s-for-htc-one-s/
But I do not want to make s-off!
So I am looking for the original RUU
is it not installed anyway? it was on mine when i bought it...
wondering what you're trying to achieve...

Restore the original state!
I have unlocked the bootloader HTCdev with but would like to restore the original condition. This goes as far as I know the rom with the original but I do not want to make the 1:47 on it.
Why do you guys keep posting in the wrong section?

once unlocked you can not lock the phone again, at least not by flashing some RUU.
maybe some hackers (alpharev? ) will find a solution some day...
How this is actually the S-Off?
When I unlocked the bootloader with HTCdev it is still not S-Off or?
Has anyone tried the rom from here?

Well it is very simple Imo... You need to get a gingerbread ruu and run it in windows nothing else... That should be enough

You need to double click on the RUU and follow what the program indicates

JuopunutBear to S-OFF. Flash GB RUU
All you have to do is run the RUU. Make sure your PC has the appropriate drivers for your device and HTC Sync. I had to restore a few times using the stock 1.73.401.4 RUU for my Sensation XE, and that is all that I had installed. I can verify that root is not needed in my experience although I did have S-Off.
I hope this helps.
Don't need HTC Sync installed. Just need the drivers. Not sure if RUU comes with said drivers. Need to be S-OFF to downgrade hboot. ICS hboot is NOT compatible with GB (1.23 is, but that's not what's included with the latest RUUs).
Without S-OFF, you CANNOT RUU back to GB.
If it were so simple as flashing GB RUU, we wouldn't need JuopunutBear
downgrade is very complicated.
root the current ICS and install recovery
Juopunubear S-OFF (require htcdev unlock and root)
downgrade firmware to 1.17
flash GB rom or run GB RUU

have you gold card and PG88IMG.zip?
I didn't need gold card. My DS has Htc firmware without branding...
What PG88IMG.ZIP do you mean?

Well, the purpose of this thread is to update the HOS that most operator from latam brought to us, why? Because we cannot use some of the ROMs that are barely found for our HOS because we need 4.0.4 as base. I've been reading about flashing the proper RUU but after browsing the web I was not able to find that RUU for our devices, they left us alone. Now, I think that there is a possible way to update our HOS, if there are other HOS from every region that got that update, we could take a part of those files and try to flash it into our devices.
Now, I'm newbie about this things of developing, but I can try to flash all files and test the ways if possible, but I don't want to brick my phone, so my question is if is possible to flash the hboot of another RUU (from another HOS s3) and in that way, we won't have the restriction of the hboot anymore and meaby we could try some ROMs like TrickDroid 6.0.0 or the JB ROM from luxandroid. I've been reading and found that there is a way to extract all the content of a RUU and get the flashable files, but those methods were for other HTC devices. Some of the files that are extracted from a RUU are the hboot file, which could be flashable, and that's what I would like to try.
TL;DR: Can I flash a hboot extracted from a RUU that is not compatible with my device's CID?
Also, sorry for my english, I hope you could understand it
If this is a question, then why you post in on development section?

If this was your answer, then why did you bother to do it? I'm trying to get this working, but first I need to know if is possible or if someone already tryed it before a brick my phone.
flashing hboot manually is impossible as much as I know
I moved this thread to Q&A/Support because it has nada to do with development. As long as you don't develop something, stay out of that section.
