first of all thanks to all the posts in xda-developers.com site. updating my wind lgp999 g2x got easy.
i started with my wind g2x with android 2.2. It has 6 GB internal SD card. No external sd card.
followed http://www.wikihow.com/Root-and-Flash-a-Wind-Optimus-2X/T-Mobile-G2X
rooted it with SuperOneClickv2.3.3-ShortFuse
flash cwm 4.0.1.5 as per instructions in
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847
flash eaglesblood rom ics 4.0.4 as per instructions in
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575199
After booting in 4.0.4 I was not able to read internal sd card. i was able to access it when i connected the g2x to pc via usb.
then as per advice in (below) ran cleanup.bat to clean sdcard and flash it with cwm 5.8.1.3 touch.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1590523
when try to access sdcard from cwm it gave error 'cannot mount sdcard'
installed temp sdcard in external slot with zip files for eaglesblood GB rom.
flashed eaglesblood gb rom from cwm 5.8.1.3
removed external sdcard and rebooted g2x
it is now running eaglesblood GB v2.3.7 rom.
still cannot access internal sdcard.
How do i mount and format internal sdcard ? I know i can install an external card and use it. But how do i mount my internal sd card ?
Please help.
After this i will again flash it with eaglesblood ICS 4.0.4 rom.
I had this problem before. Try installing a GB rom and do a format of the internal that way. It may sound like it wont work but it did for me.
My problem was after running a cleanup file and tried to install an ICS rom and couldn't see my internal memory.
Hope this fixes it!

I'm not quite sure I'm following you.
I thought partitioning the sdcard only effects the /data and /sdcard partitions.
Still don't understand what your real problem is.

If you did in fact get CWR reinstalled, you should be able to connect it to your PC, go to Mounts and Storage, and mount USB Mass Storage. That should allow you to copy your ROM image over to the device.
same problem
i have the same problem... cant load anything ... how can i access the internal sd card on my g tab??? to be able to reinsert the tnt files???

You can use ADB.
"adb push FILENAMEHERE /sdcard"
Thank you for this. You helped me big time.
G-Tablet Full Restore your Gtablet using nvflash - refresh to factory
Pensacola Computers has a step by step You Tube video on how to restore your G-TAB to Factory ROM. This is the best I've seen so far on how to flash your tablet back to factory ROM after you have bricked it. Hats off to Pensacola Computers.
I would like to be able to put my various ROM's and kernels on my external SD card but when I boot into recovery, CWM doesn't see it. If I try going into Mounts and Storage --> mount /sd-ext I get the following error:
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk1p2
(File Exists)
Error mounting SDEXT:!
I tried following the fix at the bottom of the page on this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=984248 but it did not work either. I have also tried formatting the card on my PC as well as on the phone but it still will not recognize or mount the SD card. I am running Infused 1.5, Infusion 1.5.3 as kernel, and CWM 2.5.1.2 Recovery. I was also thinking of trying to install CWM 2.5.1.3 or 4 and see if that helps but not sure if they are stable releases and how well they work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced.
Ya I don't think you can flash from an external sd card. What I did was just copied them to the ext sd, and when I want to flash, I either copy it, or move it to the internal and resume normal operation. Then you can move it back or just delete the copy.

Ok cool. I wasn't sure if I was missing something or had done something wrong. I think I will just use the 2GB SD card that came with my Infuse as a backup for the ROMs and kernels just in case. Thanks for the help!!!
I don't mean to be an ass, but I think this belongs in general.

hey, i'm running honeycomb 3.2. i just used brk.rootkit_v6.1 to root and install cwm version 3.1.0.1, i would love to install a custom rom, but when i boot into cwm it only gives me the option to install zip via internal sd, i have a 32gb class 10 external sd inside and the option does not come up...when i try to install a rom...any rom..it says "E:Can't mount /sdcard" i updated to 3.2 before i rooted and flashed cwm...i'm thinking that may be part of the problem..It mounts perfectly when it's completely turned on..internal sd and external...this is my first tablet and i really love the TF so far. if anyone has any suggestions it would be very much appreciated. thanks!
Try formatting the SD...
i just did a wipe/factory reset...still a no go...i do find it ironic that it was able to mount and do the wipe/reset but not to install the .zip...
Try reformatting the micro sd card like suggested above

I was also wondering if i got my hands on a sd card with a rom on it would it be able to mount as i screwed with that file Am i totally screwed

I would suggest flashing Clockwork with NVFlash and then trying to flash a rom through recovery.

nothing will mount in recovery.
not the cache not the internal
i havent got a sd card so never tried that but being that i switched script on file im doubting even if it would work

Recovery doesn't read any scripts you changed in the OS. In recovery the memory and sd will be as they are designated in the hardware. You should be able to flash from an sd card even if your internal memory is hosed. If not do the new NVFLash full GB recovery method to return your phone to GB stock. That will fix your partitions.
I second what jboxer said to do I would just reture to stock GB. Make sure that you NVflash CWM to the external SD card not the internal. Dont worry man this phone is almost unbrickable well at least permanently anyway. You will be fine. Good luck man
I have a question about my new T-Mobile G2x 2.2.2
I have a 16 gig sdCard (formatted as NTFS) The phone see's the sdCard fine as a 16 gig card. My question(s) are:
1) Is it ok to format the sdCard as NTFS or should I use Fat32 with multi-partitions instead ?
2) My phone seems to be installing apps and games to its internal memory, even tho I am telling it to install to my sdCard. When I run the program called App2SD which allows you to move your apps from the internal phone memory to the installed sdCard, it is showing me that I have 3 storage locations !
#1 - Main internal phone memory with 1.46 GB's
#2 - sdCard with 5.45 GB's ??
#3 - My real sdCard with 16 GB's
It is installing everything to that #2 internal (fake) sdCard.
I know the phone has like 6 GiGs internal doesn't it ? so why is it splitting it into main memory and some type of sdCard ??
I only want it to have the main phone memory and my REAL sdCard of 16 GB's.
Ok I know I am making this more confusing than it is, but I think you all understand what I am asking :O)
What is wrong here ??
Thanks so much!
John

It's just the way the phone is partitioned. Not much you can do about it unless you either root or install a cm7-based rom.
Even if you root, the solution isn't perfect and it breaks USB mass storage mounting to your computer.

Sorry I didnt make it clear. My phone is rooted and NvFlashed CWM 5.x
So what are my options now ? Also, what is USB mass storage ? I see it in the settings, but not sure what it is.
Thanks

About the best you can do is to swap the mount points of your internal "sdcard" and your actual removable sdcard. You do this by editing the /system/etc/vold.fstab file. You can't rename the mount points to anything other than what they already are (/mnt/sdcard and /mnt/sdcard/_ExternalSD) but you can swap them. So then your removable sdcard will be /mnt/sdcard and your internal "sdcard" will be /mnt/sdcard/_ExternalSD. Its not exactly accurate but at least all of your partitions are usable and your removable sdcard is used as your actual sdcard.
As for it breaking usb mass storage, when you plug your phone into your computer via USB it gives you a notification on your phone that says USB Connected. Normally if you select Mount then your sdcard is mounted to your computer and so you can browse the files on it. With the stock rom if you change the mount points of the SD cards then it won't mount your sdcards to your computer.
Ok I understand. I just dont get why this is like this. I mean I buy a 16 gig sdcard, but I can not install anything larger then 5 gigs on this phone since it doesnt install or allow me to move install to a real sdcard. What good is a phone with only 5 gigs of installable memory ??? Am I missing something ?
All my other phones, you install a sdcard and you get full access to it for installs and storage !

I'm totally in agreement. The edit above will allow you to install to your micro sdcard. Your other option is to install cm7 or a cm7-based rom since they utilize the external sdcard properly.

Ok, well I just installed [ROM][Gingerbread 2.3.3] Weapon G2x 2.6 [Better Ram Management!][9.30.2011] .... but since I have the same issue I assume it must not be a CM7-based rom. May I ask what rom you use or recommend please ?
Thanks again !

That's correct. Weapon is based on stock 2.3.3. I personally switch between cm7 (recent nigjtlies releases) and Ultimate G2X (its based on 2.2.2). With Ultimate I have my sdcard mount points edited so my external card is my main sdcard.

Ok ... so with Ultimate ROM I can edit the vold.fstab and all should be good ?
Faux's Nexus AOSP rom is damn near perfect and uses the external sd card perfecty for what your wanting. I too think whoever decided to partition the internal storage that way is a complete idiot! I just use that internal sdcard for my mp3 and movie files and store backups and roms/kernels on my external along with installed apps/games to my ext partition using link2sd.

That's what I do but it might be a more hassle-free solution to try a cm7-based rom or, as suggested, Fauxs aosp rom.
