There are things that are plus on both sides, but I see what the statement to Apple ipad was.......
Cover/Keyboard Mag mount.........Apple has a Mag Mount Cover only
Need to steal a charge for phone into built in USB........Apple no USB needs adapter
If you do Pictures with a Camera...on the go you can use SD cards in the built in slot.....Apple again adapter needed.
On the Plus side for Apple... a boat load of apps, options for use with 3G/4G and wifi built in....Surface wifi only ( no 3G/4G built in ) requires adapter....or a hotspot phone.
Long and short they have good and bad in every thing. It just all comes down to what you want to do with your tablet.

actualy l did not talk about netbooks, but somehow I hate them, but love tablets tho. It might be because my bad eyesight, I can hold tablet closeer to my eyes than a netbook. Its more portable, better battery (RT), but indeed there are pluses on both side.
Now what I was talking is that for 1500 you can get macbook air and ipad while for much less you could get surface pro which would serve both purpose.. that what I meant anyways....

None of the netbooks have impressed me with their build quality either so im not entirely sure I'd like one. Also I would probably use surface for serious work too (Pro), just hook it up to my monitor at home and bluetooth mouse + keyboard (docking station would be nice) but I think you mean the RT one, because its probably more competetive price range to netbooks. Hope microsoft can "deliver" and impress me with its product (especially with the price)

build quality won't matter for you either, then. once the machine is open or "on" and you're tapping away on your nice ( I do this too) bt keyboard, all that matters is it doesn't crash, or batteries die in KB/mouse.
I'm looking for reasons to buy thee surface over and beyound just another crappy netbook, and not seeing any.

My new Surface
I finally decided on getting the Microsoft Surface 32GB, my son monopolizes the mini and the better half likes the MacBook Air.
I gotta say that I really am digging the feel of this. I picked it up today at Staples for $299!!!!!
I'll have to review it more when I get home.

Staples has them in-store right now for $399...I found a $100 coupon online which they honored. It was a mistake actually, he said if I actually followed the "print" link, it would've said that the Surface was excluded from the offer. Since I ended up just taking a screenshot of the coupon and picking taking that in.

Hi , sorry for the late reply , I got it from John Lewis , it was on their www for approx. 30 mins on day of release , I phoned reserved it and picked it up from Oxford Street , I paid £75 for the 3 year warranty including accidental damage too.
Its fantastic , been playing Black Ops on it all weekend obviously with a load of other stuff too , but the 360 controller just plugs in and away you go.
Amazing bit of kit ........

I got both a PRO and an RT.
The pro is a laptop with it's pros and cons. It got lots of power and speed but it gets a little heavy due to that.
The RT is the true tablet. Cool, light and runs for ever. Only downside is the limited amount of apps.
IT has replaced an older W7 atom tablet (I did run W8 on it).
Primary use for the RT is surfing the web, reading docs (PDF and epub mostly) plus keeping me connected to my social networks

I love my pro. It is a bit heavy, but I don't mind due to it functionality. For me it is just perfect. I have a note 2, and I think that is about the best combo. Nice android phone, win 8 pro tablet. I have tried a few other tabs: ativ 500, and series 7 slate upgraded to win 8. The surface kills them. Best ever IMHO. :thumbup:

Ordered a Pro on the 24th May but MS are having issues with the online ordering system so I'm told by their reps.
Had to cancel my original order and place another one as the first was stuck, they did give me £100 discount though, however it now appears like my second order placed on the 17th) is also stuck, I've been told I'm going to be compensated again for this problem...
By the time it gets to christmas I might have a free one at this rate...

I have gone from the RT to the PRO and am very happy with the PRO. The RT felt a bit crippled and it annoyed me that the desktop mode on the RT was basically useless.
The PRO feels much better to use and the higher resolution is much better. I like the pen functionality and love I can run all my old software from Win XP to Win 7
The only downsides - the much worse battery life and price. Both I can live with If you're undecided and have the funds - go for the PRO imo.

In my experience if your having problems with a company you just drop a threat about trading standards into your argument somewhere and they give in, unless its murco in St Neots who did actually recieve a visit and fine from trading standards in the end.

Pretty poor tbh, nobody as MS can tell me why neither of my orders have gone through and all the Live Chat techs can tell me is that its been escalated and that someone will contact me..

I got one of each and I do like them booth.
The RT is my E-book reader, surfpad and facebook box.
The pro is going to be upgraded to enterprise (yes I do got the licence and BACKUP on that).
I just got to play with direct access from the pro to my home net

I love my SP. I would've bought the RT in a heartbeat (esp since now my university will offer it for $250 with a touch cover) IF it could run android. Just too much I'd miss by switching over. I wish my SP would run android properly so I could sell my nexus 7 and just use the pro. ):

I bought to try, was a very good price, my course is engineering informatics, and have to be updated, and I've been programming for windows phone

well, i just bought my surface RT after my nexus 7 and im so happy.
I'm a student in IT engineer school, so i got my own server and it's so pretty to have on my tablet, a real RDP and get all access on my differents server. I will try for the vm ware web client, but for the moment is not install on my v center.
I jailbreak my tablet to get access, to notepad ++, filezilla, 7 zip, and he this surface became a powerful tool.

I'm considering selling my 4/128 (on Swappa) & moving to the 6/256 variant.
If I do,when I get the 6/256 MIX,you can have mine @ no cost.
If you can wait a couple weeks,I'll send it to you ASAP,but,I do want to keep the one I have now,most buyers will likely pass over my listing w/o it.

I bought a cheapo clear case on amazon..but I can NOT stand the feel of these plastic cases....I wish diztronic or some reputable brand made a case for these...but, that will never happen with such a low production amount of these phones.

I bought the 6/256, and I am extremely happy that I did so.
I've found 4.5 Gb of RAM routinely being used, and I never notice any lag or decreased speed in use.

I'm good w/4GB RAM,but,this phone may be a long-term keeper & I can actually see myself wanting/needing more local storage than the 4/128 model provides.
Should development take off,TWRP backups can take a nice chunk of space,however,in all actuality,I probably won't need the extra storage,but,it's nice to have vs the alternative(s)..............

Agreed, you can never have enough storage in my opinion and I also think the Mix is a.long term keeper.
It's a great consumption and content creation tool.
I also think Android is rather memory hungry.

To be quite honest with you, i'm not overly happy with the stock case:
1) earphone hole is too small. My normal earphones can't plug in. I might cut it open a bit to enlarge it.
2) Barely any screen lip - no screen protection
3) volume/power buttons don't stick out enough and are hard to find.
getting a couple cases from ebay, hopefully they are better.

I'm also looking to buy the original leather case. Mine didn't come with one due to the shortage. Unfortunately I bought it from a third party seller. I also have PayPal account. Please let me know if anyone is selling. Thanks.

yes, you can buy good spare parts here. try google translate. normally you will understand enough to get through the ordering process. if not you can call me again. i will ask a chinese friend, but this will take some time.

actually i'm not good in chinese too, but i have some friends over there and i'm very near to china anyway (we have another factory there, and am there from time to time).

Thanks for this link. I don't understand a single character of Chines but I got through it all with Google Translate. The key is to set up an account first. I used translate on every page doing that. Set up a default shipping address in here. Once done add it to your cart. Then go to your cart and translate, check the item and settlement. It will want you to set an Alipay pin code. (just translate all the way through when needed). Once past that you enter your credit card info and then you are done. It took me 45 minutes to get through this but it was way cheaper than the other options.
I may have missed a step or two but you should be able to figure it out. I just bought a refurb watch and don't have it yet, but I wanted a spare and this was reasonably priced.

Don't bother. There is a hidden 115 yen logistics fee. I am in the process of a refund.

Yes it is Yuan, excuse my ignorance. I did end up going ahead with the order and the band is identical to the original, but seems slightly thinner and softer. And it works. It turns out to be half the price of the EBay leather covered band. Had it in Canada in 14 days.

Hi! I own an LG Urbane 2 LTE, now the strap finally is showing the wear and tear and I'm planning to replace the strap (wristband).
Any idea where to get in 2018?

anyone got any idea what will stop working if the band is replaced with standard 22mm, I have read that it is related to LTE only, how about wifi and BT - are they affected, I will unlikely be using the LTE option so it doesn't matter if it doesn't work

I tried just a little and bt and wifi works, but I didn't test it to much.

I honestly believe that parts (the actual antenna's) of a broken band could be stripped out and remain connected to the watch for fitting of a standard 22mm band, this option would also fill the connections of the old original band maintaining the seal, I worked in electronics for years and carry out all repairs on my own phones - I have stripped down and repaired many, I believe my above suggestion could work, just a little care stripping out the old band

I don't think a regular band would end up looking right? Anybody actually try this?

New watchband supplier
I couldn't get through Taboo's website to order a new watchband there, Google translate didn't handle the pop-ups at checkout. But I found a website in Korea that has new bands, stock black or leather (sewn to stock black, apparently), $56. Seems pricey but it beats tossing my excellent LG Watch Urbane. Ordered & received new bands plus special screwdriver in about 2 weeks.

Did pay more for faster shipment. I just order mine and it won't deliver til 30th

Ordered the wrong one by accident, wanted the 64gig one but got so scared that I will run into order issues and choose the 128 one by mistake. Oh well.

I mean... not the WORST mistake you could make I guess. lol. More storage space is always nice! Personally I wanted the NON-SHINY black version, but it wasn't worth spending an extra $50 for (not for me anyway).

Dispatch on 24th, delivery on 28th. Not bad imo

Where do you live? I pd the 7.99 extra and it says arrives on friday.
and i ordered the midnight black 8/128
zero use for the extra storage, i keep maybe 10 apps, no music or video, maybe better when i sell it though some day.

Detroit MI USA- and yea, selling it later will likely return a good amount of the money you paid for it. Seems like OnePlus phones (especially after the 5) retain value a lot better.

I ordered the 128gb model and also used the $20 voucher for accessories that somebody posted in xda. I got Karbon case for $10

Still debating selling my 5T for the 6. The mirror back is so nice... Decisions.

I ended up buying the 256 gig model. Worked out because I wanted the matte black anyway. Also got the prime bundle and a car charger. Coming from the 1+3t (wife will get that) I'm super excited to upgrade.

Paid 590 USD for the 128 GB version yesterday. Was delivered today morning already been using it for nearly 12 hours. I love it
