[Q] TF300TG bricked after JB update - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody,
I need your help
I have a TF300TG
I tried to update to JB firmware but I took the wrong one (the one for the TF300T)
once it was done, I got no wifi and no 3G.
so I decided to apply the last 4.0.1 firmware.
then I got back the wifi but no 3G but it was still in 4.1 ...
I wanted to apply the right firmware in 4.1 for the TF300TG but I get the dead logo of android...
I wanted to downgrade but it wont let me do it because when I want to unlock the tablet with the asus software, I get an error message telling me that something went wrong ...
and when I try to do the "on line" update straight from my tablet, it says that something wrong happend...
so any idea ?
thanks
SOLVED with this method:
fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash system blob
because I was already in JB 4.1 (firmware 10.3.2.X WW TF300TG)
I had to use the 10.4.3.7 firmware from asus
and it worked

So it possible to have working wi-fi and 3G on TF 300TG after flashing JB rom ?
-
i am on that rom now ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901784 )
so i have not 3g and want to back it work ( from ICS rom or anothe possible road )

[Q] Flash UK MZ604 with US MZ604 4.0.3 from MotoDev. Workable?

OK, I know there are a couple of threads on this general area but they're a bit outdated now and I thought there might be other UK MZ604 owners out there that might be hoping for an official JB update when the lucky US people get it.
So basically, we just need a bit of clarification on the following if one of you nice guys would be willing to help.
1. I've seen many success stories about people flashing the original 3.1 US IMG to a UK model. Should this still hold true if flashing straight to 4.0.3?
2. I'm assuming the process will remove CWM where installed, will this need to be re-flashed to enable the SD slot or is that a feature in the latest versions yet?
3. Is the market location based or tuned to the ROM (£ or $)?
4. Most importantly, will this process effectively make the device a GED and therefore ready for the 4.1 update when it airs? :silly:
Thanks in advance for any help offered from us poor saps in the UK.
Would it then not mean you would need to create US accounts as im assuming it will think you are now a US customer no matter where you are. If it wasnt geographic locked then why have the separation for all these images ?
Is there a 4.0.3 IMG? I have only seen the 3.0.1 version for all regions
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using xda premium
Installing a US ROM makes it a GED. Flash HC, OTA up to ICS.
Market is based off your IP address I think. Either way, it uses your home location.
Unsure on SD card. I have a feeling it might work on ICS.
CWM is indeed removed. To be GED and receive OTA, you need to be non-rooter with locked bootloader.

unlocked bootloader is fine too - i got all my OTAs with an unlocked bootloader, no rom, no custom recovery, everything is stock (apart from the unlocked bootloader)
Absolutely possible to do this as I did this a couple of weeks back due to Motorola's terrible non-US customer support!
Flashed to US GED 3.01 rom then took all the OTA updates to ICS 4.0.4 and hopefully the Jellybean release. I have no issues running the US GED ROM in the UK other than the niggling regret for not bothering to do it sooner and wishing I never bought a Motorola product in the first place!

Hi,
What process/thread did you use/follow to change your device to a GED? I have read a few which seem to be US hardware specific only and I am not sure which one to use :-(
Also what impact will it have if you have noticed anything? e.g. fill I loss access to iplayer as the device is a US one etc?
Thanks

Ah...so SD Card access? Will it still read/write to it or is that still a custom recovery feature?
Thanks for your help.
N.b. Bongo - iPlayer is area-specific so as long as you're in the UK, it should work fine.:fingers-crossed:
100% ....
100% On My MiddleEast Xoom MZ604 ...
1) Unlock the bootloader (Warning: Unlocking the bootloader may void your wty and wipe all user data (photos, etc) from your Tablet)
adb reboot bootloader (wait for the Tablet to reboot)
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot reboot
2) Grab HWI69 for the Moto site (http://developer.motorola.com/products/software/ )
3) Extract and run the following commands:
adb reboot bootloader (wait for the Tablet to reboot)
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
Warning: Do not re-lock your bootloader. Doing so will apparently prevent the Xoom from booting.
4) When the Tablet reboots, let it go through the OTA process (HWI69 -> HMJ37 -> HTJ85B -> HTK55D -> HTK75D -> IML77 (ICS))
5) Enjoy ICS
Keep in mind that flashing a 3G or 4G ROM from US might not make your device data connection from another country work. But GED is a good way to bypass those annoying waiting times.

You actually can re-lock the bootloader, but you must do it before any OTA updates (immediately after flashing the US images)

[Q] A NOOB who needs upgrade help

I have a verizon samsung s3 thats rooted and unlocked. For severel weeks i have been prompted to upgrade my device but every time i try it starts then stops about a quarter way thru and shows a dead android guy laying on his back. My phone restarts just fine with the old software still installed. I have looked for the officail jelly bean 4.1.1 rom so i can install it. But cant find it. Only can find custom. Can anyone point me to a official rom download or tell me how i can get my phone to just do it thru the update on my phone. Why is my phone having problems updating anyway. Im guessing it because of it being rooted or unlocked. Thank you for the help!!!! MY PHONE INFO!!!!! SCH-I535 ANDROID VERSION 4.0.4
There is no official Jelly Bean ROM yet. The update it just a different modem and some security updates. I would just flash a custom recovery and install a JB ROM.

Try to use matt's tool to restore to 4.0.4 and then update to 4.1.2 again if you want to.
Edit: or try to reflash a 4.1.2 ROM with RSD Lite

You don't need to be rooted (but you can use the tool to root if you want to) and i don't think you need an unlocked bootloader, but I'm not 100% sure. Check it better on matt's tool's thread.
Solved

After that my system going bootloop e and only access android via BP tools i think, from power bottom volume +.

[Q] Acer Iconia A1-810 Downgrade?

I recently updated to 4.4 Kitkat on my Acer tablet. I've been wanting to root my tablet for a long time but never found a tutorial. Well, just as my luck would have it, after I update to 4.4 I find this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240029
I read a reply in that thread stating that the Acer Toolkit doesn't work with 4.4 because Acer patched it or something. So I was wondering if there is any way I can downgrade my tablet or even root 4.4?

HI
You can't downgrade, since the update also bring an new bootloader, so flashing an system.img of your older Ro (JB4.2) wont work.
Also since your bootloader is LOCKED, there's nothing you can do right now , sorry.
With an MTK UNlocked bootloader, that would be possible...
Regards
Still not possible?
Hi,
I just found this thread whilst searching for instructions on rooting my A1-810 and I was wondering is it still not possible if the kitkat update has been applied?
I just flashed my A1-810 from JB (4.2 I believe) to the latest KitKat version available on Acer's support website (Acer.AV0K0.A1-810.RV0BRC05.PA.CA, just released on 11/06/14) and now my unit is stuck in a boot loop.
I've tried wiping cache/factory reset, and reflashing the same update to no avail. Downgrading to any previous version is not possible (due to bootloader update from KitKat update I presume) and all I get is a assert failed: getprop("ro.product.name") == "a1-810_pa_ca" error when trying to do so).
I hadn't realized just how recent this update was (seeing as they just posted it last week) and am assuming it is due to an issue with the update itself (and Acer's shotty programming).
Anyone have any suggestions on how I might be able to fix this issue? Sad that a year old tablet is now a paper weight due to a SOFTWARE UPDATE FROM THE MANUFACTURER.
Update: Fixed it!!
After speaking with Acer support, trying to re-flash their image multiple times, and having them tell me that my year old tablet (with warranty ending this past July) would cost $110 to fix (due to THEIR software update), and after being advised NOT TO by their support team, I decided to try and flash the unit myself with a different bootloader.
I basically followed the guide at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...3&postcount=53
and downloaded the A1-810 files and Drivers package from there as well.
Then my unit managed to get past the reboot loop and boot into KK successfully!
CWM didn`t actually install, but there is a note at the bottom of the link regarding that, but I`m not going to bother for now as I am more than happy to have a working tablet again!
Hope this helps anyone else!

[Q] Asus Memo Pad 10 (ME102a) Android 4.2.2 -- How to downgrade to 4.1

Hi all,
I have Asus Memo Pad 10 (ME102a) currently with Android 4.2.2 with kernal version ww_3.11.0.99#1
problem
My tablet was working fine up to last week. I had for some reason delayed updating the system update available from Asus. Recently I went ahead with the system updates and now I am stuck with my wifi not connecting.
My wifi currently scans and detects wifi. When I try to connect to open or secured wifi the signal strength drops and the wifi is not able to connect. I have tried it with different routers as well as tried using static IP. I have tired restarting, factory wipe but no go.
Asus Customer Support
They have told me it is a software issue and i would have to wait for the next update. Asus doesn't know when the next update is coming. They said I would have to sent it to them to downgrade it. The tablet was purchased in the USA and I am currently overseas and trying to get this issue resolved.
So far I have done the following
I have rooted my tablet and have super user access.
I have installed CWM recovery
I have found the original kernal file from Asus UL-K00F-WW-3.9.0.82-user
I can't do the following
I tried installing the original kernal file UL-K00F-WW-3.9.0.82-user but the installation keeps on getting aborted. (I think the loader doesn't allow it install) ---- Do I need to unlock the bootloader if so how??? I have tried to unlock the bootloader but I haven't been able to.
If someone knows any other way to fix this issue please share.
Thanks to all in advance
