Hello,
I recently bought an eee pad with a broken touch screen (it has a crack in it) for dirt cheap but the normal screen itself is fine. I wanted to use the eee pad as a photo frame. I wanted to permanently remove the touch screen so you can actually see the screen. Is their an easy way to do this or do all of the other components "rest" on the touch screen?
Thanks

Google is our friend.
Doesn't appear to be glued to the LCD just the mounting bracket.

Seems like having a tablet like that just for a photo frame is overkill have you looked into just replacing the digitizer? They're about $50 on ebay.

I would go for it, if you do it would be cool if you post some pics, my tab is an out of warranty refurb I might have to replace something someday as well.

I have a very tiny scratch on my TF300 in the middle of the screen. Would a screen protector cover that?
probably not but who cares, i have a number of small scratches on my screen and you can't even see them when the screen is on.

I'm wondering if the TF300 had Gorilla Glass if this would have even happened. That is really the only thing on the TF300 that I don't like. No gorilla glass. It seems that it scratches really easy which is not a good thing at all.
you can always return the tf300 if your within return period at your store and get the tf700 if it bothers you alot.

My screen can be used with nails and all sorts of cables and stuff just like a resistive, although its a capacitive touch screen.
Are you guys also able to do this?
I have never been able to do this with other capacitive screens

It should work with anything conductive. Or at least has a capacitance
Ok thanks thought i had something wrong but btw look at this photo...

I really dont see what your talking about. Do you mean those lines that have breaks in the middle shouldnt? I know right after i put on a wet apply screen protector i had a similar problem but it goes away after a few hours to a day. Did you just put on a screen protector? If not i dont know what to tell you. It might be defective.

I think its from using the nail rather than a regular stylus. That's was doing it to me, with a normal stylus it don't do it.

The line is drawed with my finger and not with my nail.

it was a stupid decision that i decided to not remove the plastic film that came with the tablet. (on all smartphones or tablets they always put a plastic film on the device so that it can prevent dust and stuff, samsung even puts some processor, ram information on it)
after months of using it now i want to remove it so i can put the screen protector on it, or at least i want to remove it because it seems collect too much dust and fingerprint and make the touch screen harder to use. but it's "glued" and i can't remove it now.
i tried using fingernails and clear tape but couldn't remove it.
does anybody have any idea of what i can do? thanks

Well I would guess that you will have to heat it up a bit to get it to come off and you may have to use a bit more force than you might like.
Damn that's not good at all dude. It sounds like the screen protector was exposed to some heat and melted to your screen. I would call the manufacturer and tell them everything and maybe they will send you a new one. Good luck!

Just peel what you can off and use some sort of cleaning solution to gently rub off the residue. You would think the plastic comes off pretty easily, but if left on for too long, I've seen this happen on more than a few occasions.
Hello,
I must change the digitizer of my asus TF700T.
I got a good guide. Asus Transformer TF700 Infinity Teardown
I do not know how to release the digitizer ribbon.
In the Step 5, exactly, how to do to release the 2 digitizer ribbon?
Should I lift the piece of black color by the front or back?
or Should I slide the piece of black color?
Please anybody help?
Lift the white tabs up feom the cable side tilring roward the rear.

Lift the white tabs up, from the cable side tilting toward the rear.
Levante las lengüetas blancas hacia arriba, inclinandolas hacia el lado del cable.
Where did you find the digitizer
I know that your post is a year old. I need to replace my digitizer as well on my tab. I hope you were able to do it and it all worked out for you. My questions for you are; where did you find the digitizer ( could you send me a link if you remember), what was wrong with it and why did you need to replace it, and did it fix the problem? If you see this i would really appreciate a response thanks!

Hi
I just replaced my screen at my Asus transformer 300 due to broken one, I have replaced 2 screen and at both of them I see a wired phenomena that the screen looks like it have an internal scratches\crack, it happened at both new screens which cause me to think that the problem is not the screen it self.
If some one had that issue or familiar with that, I will be happy to get any idea/help to provide that solution.
P.S I attached a pictures of the new screens after installation and turn on the device.
Appreciate any help.

What did You actually replaced? Was it touch screen (front glass) or display (panel underneath the front glass)? It looks like Your display is broken.

I replaced the front glass only, per your comment, this is the touch screen, what is the display you mean?

Here is how it looks like: front, rear. There is also option to get both as one piece.
Thanks for your fruitful answer, I replaced only the screen that connect to the front side of the display, I will try to replace it, once again, appreciate your effort.

I also should clarify that display is vulnerable to heat and pressure. So be careful with new one. Good luck.
