[Q] Urgent Help with Sensation phone - HTC Sensation

My phone has for some unknown reason has stopped working, as when i switch the phone on the screen light comes on but it wont charge or anything, if i am trying to connect it to linux, it does show up, and i am able to see the content of the phone but for the life of me i cant get it to go to recovery mode or anything else, it is not rooted, or anything i was in the process of using JB rooting with the wire connection when it failed, or should i say stop reponding, chances it in a loop or something but i am not too sure.

pwr button + vol down and let start phone booting.
if this is what you ve done and you don t see anything on bootloader screen... do you have tried some fastboot command??
phone plug on usb comp.
open terminal and type fastboot devices. (you should seee serial number)
if you got it type => 'fastboot oem boot' w/o quote
give output (you shoud see you cid_number
edit: just saw the file you attached (h-boot.img) this was a very bad idea. h-boot must be flashed only if s-off. hope you didn't brick your phone.
get see and read this post, it s a usefull post s-off or s-on => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21989063&postcount=1
you should know if your device is s-on or s-off...

Not trying to oversimplify things, but is the device fully charged? Did you have any problems during the flash? Which SPL did you flash? Have you tried a hard reset? Can you get to the bootloader screen to verify the version of SPL installed vs. the version you tried to install?
Just a few questions to help us try to figure out what is going on. Take care!

How are you trying to get to the bootloader screen? Have you fully read through this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=533976
Finally, I would recommend downloading the original ROM and installing it. The ROM for the Tilt is here:
http://www.htc.com/us/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=67&cat=2&dl_id=94
That is straight from HTC's website, and you might look to see if your specific phone is there. You should be able to download it, connect your phone with the USB cable and run the downloaded file from your computer to bring your phone back to it's original state.
If that works, I would then re-read the link above thoroughly and give it another shot. Hope this helps!

I am not asking what Windows thinks you have connected, or whether or not ActiveSync sees the device. What I am asking is: When you run the original HTC ROM installation program:
"RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_3.57.502.2_radio_sign_25.88.40.05_1.65.21.18_Ship.exe"

To access bootloader, you should hold down the camera button (on right side of phone) and the use the stylus to press the reset button (on bottom of phone.) When the phone goes blank, release the camera button.
When you do this, do you still get the blank/black screen?
Also, did you follow EACH step in the following thread:

Okay if you can't access the boot loader then you need to go higher up. I think the chain is Radio Rom, then SPL, then OS. Basically your SPL is gone, that is why your screen is black and you can't get into the boot loader --- cause its gone. So no duh, it can't load the OS. So, your only hope is that your radio rom is working so you can access the phone via cmd interface programmed within it.I really don't know what i'm talking about, but I've bricked my phone too and with some guidance (er explicit instructions in chat) I was (er she was) able to fix it [my situation was far more complicated with a "security locked" device, and a "radio from hell"]. Your key words are frankenkaiser. which you can find here:

THANKS.
still need info what did you do to brick it ? im guessing you flash the wrong recovery
Did you relock your bootloader before RUU? And did you use the RUU that corresponds to your hboot?
i guess u did not flash a right recovery and did not flash back into htc's offical recovery before ruu
just try
boot to fastboot
flash the original recovery ( link : https://www.box.com/s/48a3962ztzy4gzapp28r )
lock bootloader using "fastboot oem relock bootloader"
ruu again
I don't think someone who doesnt know how they bricked their phone willl be able to do adb commands lol but like others said relock bootloader than ruu
Sounds like you factory reset in fastboot. For some reason it unnoints the sd card. I had this happen to me. To fix all I did was hook my phone up to the computer and when I went to the drive it was at it said it needed formated. Format it and you should be able to go back into recovery. Hope this helps.

PLEASE give me specific fastboot instructions (step by step) on how to use fastboot on mac os x 10.8.2 cause I don't have windows ... detailed steps means exactly what to type when I launch terminal ... thank you all! have a good one.

Flashing international roms can really screw these phones up, so you're going to need to do a full wipe.
Also, don't use CWM, which not supported for this phone and can cause problems. You need to push TWRP recovery in fastboot if you can get there. Once in, wipe everything, /system included. You should then be able to flash a useable rom.
htc one international - hard brick, tough luck ...

If you want to be back to stock unrooted just run the Fastboot cmd fastboot OEM lock and then run ruu according to your devices software version in fb as well and you should be good to go.

Hi again .... ok, I now know exactly how to use fastboot/adb commands to revive/unbrick my htc one x thanks to you! However, therein lies the biggest dilemma of all ... fastboot wont write to the phone only because it says the battery is too low on my phone which it is ... if I plug my phone into A/C power, phone keeps on rebooting endlessly with 0.5 sec charging (red light on for like half a sec. before it reboots again) ... therefore I am unable to fully charge my bricked phone without it constantly rebooting (endless loop) as soon as it is plugged into the wall or USB laptop (same thing)... SO: if I cannot charge my phone to at least 50% let alone even 15%, fastboot won't work ... what to do??? thanks again for your much appreciated help and support ...

if the phone is charged, make sure you reboot to bootloader (hold the volume down button as it boots), then you can get into fastboot mode.

[Q] HTC Sensation bootloop

Hello xda,
a friend of mine just gave me his HTC Sensation because it isnt running quite a while. The problem is that i haven't had a HTC device ever and I don't really know what to do and what information you need to help me so I'd be happy if u just tell me what information you need and I will try to get them for you.
The Information I got so far is:
- if I want to boot it, it stays at the HTC Logo
- CWM starts with some errors but you can't perform a wipe (just turns off)
- Bootloader starts as well but you can't perform wipe either, nor flash new CWM
- If i connect it with the computer while in fastboot it changes to "fastboot usb" but adb cannot find the device, though i installed first the drivers, lateron htc sync. Windows just calls it "myhtc"
bootloader says:
"PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT . 1.27.1100

OpenADSP-v02.6.0.2226.00.0131

So what should I try to do or what information will you need.

Hi,
Go HERE
Install 4 EXT recovery, using one of the 3 methods available.(probably third)
Then, try to install ARHD ROM.(same guide)
No need to change the firmware.
So I just tried to flash 4 EXT Recovery but it doesn't work..
It finds the zip, ask me whether i want to start the update, i press vol up and "Update is in progres.." appears but nothing more, I'm waiting since 5 minutes and will probably have to power off the phone now.. the same happened when i tried to install cwm so theres something wrong with the bootloader?
What can I do now?

Hi,
Maybe you should run a RUU.
Look HERE
I also thought about this but as I said adb doesn't find the device.
Since I never ran a RUU, can I still flash or do I have to get adb to run with the device.
Anyway, I cannot read out the CID of the device so if it is possible, which RUU should I flash?
Thanks for your help

Hi,
Try installing these windows 7 & 8 drivers (assuming you have a windows 7 or 8 machine)
Reboot your PC and see if your phone is recognized in ADB.
You are s-off,so you do not have to match it 100%
Just get a RUU that is close to your region or carrier.
If you get the wrong one,it is not a problem.
It will just give you an error.
Then,just try another.
)
Well I just installed those drivers but same result as before..
Windows says "MyHTC" and after i write "adb devices" into the cmd window it says "daemon not running. starting it on port 5037. daemon started succesfully. List of devices attached." and the next time i write adb devices it just says "List of devices attached".
Bootloader still says Fastboot USB.
So maybe there's something wrong with my adb?
Well can i flash RUU without adb finding my device or cant I?

Hi,
Not sure what is happening with your ADB.
Look HERE for help.
In order to run a RUU ,you need to put the bootloader into fastboot, and plug in the USB.
It should show what yours is showing.
So, it should work.
After "List of devices attached" there is no device shown, I didn't leave anything adb shows, so this is still right? Usually it always shows my device ^^
So my adb is probably not running right or it is about my phone
So my next step should be adb showing my device and therefore reinstall android sdk, java, stuff until it might show the phone
or just do something with the phone?
I still think that i cannot run a ruu without any device shown? Didnt really get an answer on this question I guess or I didnt realize it

Hi,
Just run the RUU.
It will only show error if it does not work.
No big deal, and no damage done.
Just try another one.
if you enable usb debugging might help too
Well.. I just started "RUU_Pyramid_HTC_Europe_1.50.401.1_Radio_10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01_M_release_223042_signed" and everything went fine until installation, no errors at all. Now the installer is stuck at "restarting bootloader" (or something equal, the installation is german) and the phone didnt do anything at all. It's now 15 minutes since the installation started so I probably will try another one but isn't it weird that ther is no error at all?
What should I do if the next RUU does exactly the same?
*edit:
just seeing page 2. How should I enable usb debugging without booting the phone?
*edit2:
second RUU: Same thing, no error but it didnt go further then "Restarting bootloader".
What to do now?
Any further Ideas what I could try?

Hi,
Try running a RUU with the same radio (11.22) that you have installed.
You will not damage the phone.
It is not always an exact science with RUU.
Sometimes it is just trial and error.
So it is often that there is no error at all?
I just thought flashing wrong RUU will cause an error and not stopping at restarting bootloader. And anyway the bootloader seems pretty broken since it is not flashing anything at all ^^
Still i gonna try it

Hi,
Probably ,the only thing that will fix your problem is a RUU.
So,keep trying different ones until it works.
I finally managed to find the phone via adb! I think that's a great step.
The biggest problem is that I lose any contact to the phone when i reboot it into bootloader.
I can just boot the phone into recovery and use any other adb function but as soon as I boot it into bootloader I can't do anything anymore.
That's why I cannot use any fastboot commands to flash a zip, neither run a RUU completely i guess.
So I think that i need any rom to either flash via recovery or just via PC not using fastboot/bootloader at all.
Are there any possibilities for me now?

Hi,
Plug your phone into the PC.
Go to device manager, and where it says MyHTC,right click and update driver.
Browse to the windows 7 & 8 drivers I gave you earlier.
Update,unplug phone ,and reboot PC.
Get a RUU that shows 3.32 or 3.33 in the title, and matches your region
Pull your battery.
Put it back in,and hold volume down and power button together.
Scroll to fastboot.
Plug in usb and run RUU from the PC

[Q] Problems Returning Sensation XE to stock

Would somebody be able to help?
My phone has been playing up a lot lately. I was running MIUI.
Also the volume buttons do not work on the phone.
At the moment i have a phone which is stuck on the MIUI boot screen(just the yellow "MI" symbol)
I would like to get my phone back to stock, i have read so far that i will have to use an RUU (not sure if this is suitable or not for my situation?)
There are a few problems i have with this.
I have no idea of knowing what CID i am running, and no idea how to find it with my phone in its current state.
When i do look on the links to RUU pages i am unable to find one that is suitable for Orange (EE??) UK
[*[I have no experience of ADB, and if i need to use that i will need a complete NOOBS guide to how to use it.
Any help would be appreciated, even links to other pages etc.
Many thanks in advance for your help

Thankyou soo much for the response.
When you say close to or higher than what on my phone what do you mean?
Then i am assuming it will work if the phone is stuck on the boot screen?
Many Thanks

Hi,
The RUU runs from the PC.
All you need to do on the phone is to go to bootloader, then, fastboot, and plug in your USB cable and run the RUU.
Look at the thread I gave you.

Make sure you are not using usb 3.0 slots or hubs.
Try slots at the front and back.
Use good cables.

Sorry buddy...... Tried it... but no use
All we can do is to refer you to a service center. Sorry.
Moderators, please verify my account. I am sick of the five-minute post wait.
Sent from my XT1022 using the XDA Premium 4 app.
Try this..power the phone off, wait 5 mins, then press and hold power for 60 seconds, and check if you see any signs of the phone coming back to life. If not, then the next option is the service center
that too is not working.................Is there no one inthis whole XDA Universe who can help me..... come on guys there must be someone................:crying::crying::crying:

The five-minute post limit is lifted once you have reached 10 posts. The moderators have nothing to do with it, as the process is automated to lift the wait after you post 10 times.
The reason for this wait is to keep new users from rapidly posting uselessly just to achieve 10 posts.
Dude This is crazy

Oops, sorry to get your hopes up.
I do actually have a few things to say about the real problem here:
1. Are you sure that your device is charged up? If not, make sure to plug it in to charge.
2. If charging isn't the problem, I'm going to give it a safe bet that your device is bricked. Like, turned into nothing more than a brick. (That's what "bricked" actually means ) If the device doesn't respond to the power button (which your posts have led me to believe), then there is no way to revive your device.
aah come on

You said you've cleared eMMC and also some boot related stuff.
Well, messing with your eMMC and boot partition isn't a good idea, if you wiped your entire eMMC partition it means you've also wiped bootloader stuff...
I'm sorry but looks like your phone is totally bricked....
First of all stop shouting...!
Are you sure you choose "advaneced menu" and not "mount and storage" ....?
Also me too I think your device is bricked...
If you can't recognise it from fastboot and adb and you can boot to bootloader and recovery mode it is bricked...

If your phone won't turn on at all, it's totally bricked. Only a motherboard replacement will fix it...
As you know your phone has hard bricked buddy
then you should also know you cant fix it
try odin and flash bootloader (if u can without open download mode)
or Nokia care is the best way...
