Anybody with "working" Windows Update, PLEASE, publish the registry settings in your [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Autoupdate].
Example (official english ROM 1.25.405.1. WWE from 12/11/07):

Have you paring your Cruise with your laptop via BT?? do that first, and you have/can surf with your phone so the connection settings are allright??. If you have this 2 done right all you do is open Internet Sharing->Bluetooth PAN-> connect and go to BTnetwork on your laptop klic connect and you are in the net. I use my Cruise as a modem and its works just perfect!! I use a BT Dongle, have no BT built in my laptop
Look here http://www.wifizard.com/tutorialsXP/generic_bluetooth_pan/index.htm
hope this help
What are you doing with the Windows Update?? you never find anything. totaly useless.

Thank you, Bodisson, for publishing your /autoupdate data. Unfortunately it is not enough to make "working" Windows Update.
As far as i know there aren't any update packages... so even if WU works it won't do anything...
Hoping someone out there can help me
I have the Verizon G3 and have installed several custom ROM's. I really would like to have CM10 as my DD but I am running into an issue with most of the CM10 variants. I have a car stereo with Bluetooth support, I have no issues pairing the phone, that works OK. But shortly after I pair my phone I receive a dialog that asks for permission to download my address book to my stereo (this is an extremely handy feature since I can then use the car's voice activation feature to place a call e.g. "Call So-and-So on Cell". When I give the phone permission, it seems the download never completes. Normally, the stereo will display a message that says "Download Complete" but in this case I never see that message. Also, when I try to use my voice activation the stereo keeps telling me "Phone book still downloading", This happens on any CM-based ROM that I try, it is very consistent so I am assuming there is something in the base CM code. If I install any ROM based on stock I have never seen this issue, the phonebook download completes in a few seconds. I have also tried pairing an iPhone and a Blackberry and everything is fine.
I am wondering if anyone else has seen this issue and if anyone knows a way this can be fixed? This is my "acid test" for an acceptable rom for me so I am hoping I can get this addressed so I can move away from stock.
Thanks in advance!

Guess I am the only one with this issue? I just tried installing CM10 M1 but it still has the same issue. I will try some other JB-based variants to see if I can find something that likes my stereo :fingers-crossed:
Same thing happens with my Ford Sync system. This last time I turned on the auto download or auto update (forget what it's called) and somehow my address book is completely downloaded.

Thanks! I recently downloaded Incubus23jc's JellyWiz R3 running 4.1.1 (which I believe is a port from either T-Mobile or AT&T leak) and the address download works just fine. So the issue isn't directly JB-related. Guess I will try to submit a defect on the CM site.
I have a 2013 Honda Accord which has an infotainment system that supports MAP. My phone asks if it wants to give it access, I said yes to all double checked in the settings that all are checked but it still doesn't do anything when someone texts me. It is supposed to Auto Read them and I made sure that setting is on on my car as well. This system should be the same as some Acuras as well.
Some additional info: When I choose select account it says this phone doesn't support this feature.
Same problem here with an aftermarket BT deck.
Has anyone got MAP to work with anything?
Works fine with 2012 BMW
MAP is flawless on my 2012 BMW iDrive system.

Did you do anything special? Or does it just work after connecting it to Bluetooth. I fear this is a Honda issue but that doesn't make much sense since it does support some Android phones that probably had MAP before and the iPhone.
I received a similar prompt asking about the car accessing my calls and another about messages. Accepted both and it just works.
MAP was added to CM 10.2 awhile ago, and it worked the same on my LG Optimus G (basically a Nexus 4).

Doesn't seem to work on my e90 my10 Idrive. It used to work with sense ROM but not with cm 10.2 on my HTC one x

Anyone have any luck getting this to work? I get an envelope icon on my iMid screen, but an error message stating "the connected phone does not support this feature" when it attempt to read out the message. I have a 2014 Accord EX-L.
I'm in the same boat as OP. I've got a 2013 Honda Civic Si and a Nexus 5, and they don't work well together.
From my research on this, I believe this to be a flaw within the Hangouts app, and not a communication problem between the phone and the head unit. After playing around with it for a while (deleting the pairing profiles, repairing the two devices, clearing the system in my car, etc.), I noticed a few things that lead me to this conclusion. After a few connection attempts, the car only successfully read me one message. Afterwards, the text message functionality on my i-MID was selectable, but clicking the enter button wouldn't do anything. Checking my phone, Hangouts was also frozen. The phone was telling me (via ringtone and notification popups) that I was receiving texts, but I couldn't read them until I disabled BT and force closed Hangouts.
Is this a common problem that we are all experiencing? Can any of you confirm or deny these ideas? Also, which messaging app is everyone using (I don't want recommendations, I want to know if this is Hangouts' fault or not)?
Got a 2014 accord same problem. My fix was stopping hangout.. Works fine now I have a nexus 4 running 4.4.4
I think the Honda only uses Sms only and hangout tries to convert it

So did you end up having to use a different SMS app, then? If so, which one worked for you?
I used the stock Sms app that came with the phone. My problem was I saw the text come thru on my accord , but was unable to hear or see the message.... Same problem with my old texts also. I do not use hangout so disabling was not a problem

Ah, well, that's a bit different that the problem I've currently found myself in. For me, the text messaging functionality is permanently disabled in my i-mid display. I'll give getting rid of hangouts a try, though!

I can confirm that my car's Nav system is able to notify me and then read SMS messages from my hangounts app on my N5 without any issues (Toyota). I can also send SMS messags from the car (thru' N5). Works fine, everytime. So, I don't think it is a hangouts issue.

I'm struggling with my Toyota... I have the Non jbl system with Nav. When I click on Bluetooth settings it doesn't give me MAP as an option to check (even tho I granted access to view messages) but I unpaired and repaired a few times and it did give me the map option and it still wouldn't receive my msgs

The message access option should have been there every single time (unlike what you described). I'd suggest deleting the pairing from the phone and the car, and to try again. If the problem persists, try to pair it to another car (Toyota or not) and see if it works with that. If it does, that means it is an issue with your car's system. If it doesn't (and the other car can pair to other phone's with message access properly), it may be an issue with your phone.

Kinda glad to hear that it is working ok with another car - but at the same time, I'm not sure how helpful the dealership will be (assuming the problem d1oesn't get resolved by re-pairing) - automotive firmware is basically written in stone - very hard to get them to fix it. They usually keep blaming the phone. Good luck.

I assume you told them that it works with the Avalon - and they stuck with "it is your phone"... UGH! Funny how it works fine with one car, and not with another (even though both cars are made by same manufacturer). Yes, it must be using a different BT stack/hardware/software, but why not use the same one across the board? sheeeeeeeesh
Hello, I am starting a new thread because I have a question that doesn't seem to have been answered despite the suggested threads, which I have perused hoping to find a solution. I would NOT start a new thread if I had noticed someone on XDA solve this problem.
My question is, what happens when you try to connect your Bluetooth to:
A) Do a transfer
B) Tether
or C) enjoy your music
and it disconnects? For some reason, it does this after "Searching..." (when I don't tell it to-does so by itself and turns off after) Although I am zeroing in on 2 files (bt_config.xml and bt_config.old), I believe they could be the problem as they are supposed to open (right?) and will not, and show signs of corruption. I never mess with my "/" directory, ever. I just used ES File Explorer to make the directory writable for a brief period (but not to those files), but now I discovered this issue. I am running CyanogenMod 10.2.0 (was running cm 10.2.1 when this started) now with at least 3 devices that have paired:
My laptop running Windows 7*
A desktop running Linux*
Sony MW-600 headset (no issues here)
*But these pairings have switched between one another in the SAME spot, as if they are one pairing. I will admit I am using the same Bluetooth adapter on both desktop and laptop, but I'd like help on solving this catastrophe without a factory reset (gone thru 4 of them since August 7th, 2013.) which is not an option I'm willing to explore. I'm sure any of the good minds on XDA can pinpoint the issue with all of these details. Just to be sure, I have already:
-Unpaired and repaired devices
-cleared Bluetooth Share's data (org.codeaurora.bluetooth does not have any data to clear, BTW)
-Uninstalled/re-installed Bluetooth drivers on my laptop PC running Windows 7 Pro build 7601 x64.
Anything I missed?

Try do do any transfer with wifi off.
turn bluetooth off and delete /data/misc/bluetooth and /data/misc/bluedroid and reboot

Unfortunately the same issue occurs even after deleting both directories. It keeps saying "searching..." And then turns off, after about forty-five seconds. Any other tips would be nice, and I'd be glad to submit any files if you name them.

This Bluetooth issue is unnerving. Despite following your advice, Nardholio, and rebooting, I still have issues. WiFi never crossed paths with my Bluetooth once, by the way.
I just want to keep my hotspot invisible to my clients via Bluetooth when I don't want them connected. I do not want to change my password(needless) or hide my SSID (unproductive).
I trust them, but when I don't want them to see or automatically connect, Bluetooth is helpful. Please someone needs to give me a sign in the right direction.

I seriously need an answer and do not like to be ignored. I need help with my ailing Bluetooth. I have followed all advice given on this forum so far. And now I can access my BT_config.XML file. But the /data/misc/Bluetooth directory is empty. And I flipped the hidden file switch. Still nothing. If there are any files you need to better understand this issue, please ask for them. Do not simply ignore me. I know what I speak of. I'm far from foolish. I am open to any advice that could jump start my Bluetooth except factory reset. I have tried this already. No dice.

WOW. MIss, we all want help on this forum, but when no one has an answer, sometimes you get no reply. And if you demand an answer, it makes readers even less likely to offer help.
Re-read what you posted and ask yourself if YOU would help a stranger who said that....

Is your issue the same as mine, where activating the bluetooth connection on the SGH-T699 will cause the wifi connection to start cycling in and out? This seems to be a samsung issue on multiple devices.
Since I got my phone on release day and I haven't been able to use it to make calls in my 2012 mazdaspeed3. My other phones have worked fine so I thought I needed a software update on my radio. Well everything is up to date and that didn't fix it.
The problem is when I make or receive a phone call the Bluetooth will connect and disconnect every 5-10 seconds. This makes it impossible to talk on the phone.
So I have tried stock roms, sense based roms, and all the CM based roms and they all did the same thing. Yesterday I was trying to figure it out so I sat in my car in the garage and the phone was in a constant connect disconnect loop. During this time I was disabling apps and services hoping to stop it when all of a sudden I turned off WiFi and it stopped. I then called my wife and had a 10 min conversation with no problems. So I now run a tasker profile that when Bluetooth connects it turns off WiFi so I can make calls. The problem is I have a nexus 7 dash mounted and I use the WiFi hotspot to run apps.
So after all that, does this sound like a hardware issue or a software issue? Should I return my phone for an exchange? Thanks for the help

So far, no. It took me like 20 minutes to get the phone to pair but once that was done it hasn't disconnected at all. I have music constantly streaming through Bluetooth to the car and I've taken a couple calls with no issue.

Have you tried clearing data and cache in settings?
the Red Viper ROM
I am having the same issue.
It is connecting and disconnecting repeatedly, and it is SUPER annoying because it essentially renders my pebble watch useless.
For a while i was using the Automatic Link (car link) and was getting 'bluetooth share has stopped' errors, but found that when I stopped using the Automatic app it helped a little bit (stopped giving me the 'share has stopped' error), but it still connects and disconnects repeatedly.
The weirdest thing about this is that when I first got this phone I wasn't having this problem, everything was working fine for the first month or so, but it seems to keep getting worse.
I have tried wiping cache, dalvik, fixing permissions, etc. and have not had any luck, but I don't want to do a complete wipe of all my data and lose my text messages, etc. unless ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY, since there are images and things in there that I continually refer to for work, and I have not found that titanium backup restores them very reliably.
Has anybody had any luck with this issue? Could it be a defective device? It seems to me like it should be a software problem because it is not something I was having problems with from the start...
I am very frustrated with this, even more so because I love this phone so much. I have never had a phone that I liked as much as this one, usually the first thing I do is install an AOSP rom, but I even like Sense 6 in some ways. With Nova Launcher's 'OK Google' hotword support this phone is a dream come true... if only the bluetooth worked.

Sounds like the common theme may be root for whatever reason. I assume when you first had the phone and it worked that you were not rooted? Possible issue?

I am having the same issue.
It is connecting and disconnecting repeatedly, and it is SUPER annoying because it essentially renders my pebble watch useless.

you need to let HTC backup app take care of backing up your texts etc...what if you dropped the phone in the toilet tonight or got pushed into a pool?
this app is free...will backup your stuff daily or on demand and will restore email accounts/texts/desktop/apps/blinkfeed settings etc.

install that, backup to the cloud (uses Google drive) and then continue troubleshooting without fear of losing stuff.
