It seems that the new msgs i get while im in call makes my phone switch off. It happens most of the times like 9 out of 10 times. Can somebody help me. I don't want to move from the stock and probably i cant because my software build is in 2.20.xx

Had to abandon the Sensation

I had to go back to using my Blackberry curve after using the Sensation 4G for about 7 months. There are two problems. First is the ring volume. With the volume turned all the way up I can't hear the phone ring if there is even moderate background noise. If the phone is in my pocket I can feel the vibration, but in the holster I can't.
The second is that the phone will sometimes just quit. It will not make or receive calls and I have to pull the battery to get it to operate again. T-Mobile replaced the SIM card and that didn't help. I rooted the phone and installed the Sensation XE ROM, but the problem still persists.
The last straw came yesterday when I missed three important calls. I'm not sure if I didn't hear it ring or if it had one of those black outs, but whatever the reason I can't afford to miss calls like that. So I got the old Blackberry out, changed my service with T-Mobile and put it in operation.
I've spent many hours on the phone with T-Mobile tech support and they are unable to correct the problem. I'm not going to send it back for replacement because I did that with a Blackberry 8220 Pearl flip and after 8 (yes 8) refurbished exchanges the phone still didn't work and I'm not going though that again.
Yay t-mobile

Well since you're not going to be using it. You should send it to me I'll just use Volume+ for the sound issue. I'll pm you my address.
Contact HTC and get them to fix it

I'll buy it off of you. My phone screen got cracked after 3 months...

It might be easier to just repair the screen yourself. Definitely cheaper and worth trying it out. There are some videos on youtube. I can't post the link because I don't have enough posts, but go to youtube and type in "HTC Sensation Screen Repair".
I have absolutely non of the issues you have stated. I also use this phone for business/personal and never had a "blackout" of missed calls. Maybe u had a bad device. I love my sensation.

Send it to HTC, they gonna fix it, BUT SAVE ALL YOU'RE DATA, they gonna change the mother board ...
My one is restarting some times but i'll gonna send it.... they told me that they gonna change the mother board or the cell
Id request a new one

I have had issues with missing calls when I had headphones plugged in. I had to go to accessibility and turn tty off. Not sure why it was on.
Also having the same issues, low ring volume. The speaker is pretty weak but turning SRS on in the music app and turning on the hearing impaired function really helps.
Maybe you need a hearing aid instead? I can hear my phone from the next room.
No point in this going on...

Volume Too Low - Data Drops

Hey all,
I came from the Lumia (yeah, what a nightmare that was) to the HTC One X. It was definitely great to come back to Android. But, I've had the phone for 2 days now and already noticed two problems.
When I was at work yesterday, I noticed the 4g icon at the top looked like it was only sending data, but would never receive it. After about 30-45 seconds it would come back, but during that time, I couldn't do anything on the phone that required the use of data. I tried a factory reset, and it seemed to work just fine. Then on the way home from work, it did the same thing again.
Also, when my wife and I were watching TV last night I got a phone call and could barely hear the phone ring. I checked the volume and it's all the way up on all three sliders in the settings. I tried changing ringtones, and that didn't help.
So, I'm on my 5th phone now with AT&T since April 21st. 4 Lumia's and now this One X and they've all had issues. I'm really at my boiling point now.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I know one of my options is just to take the phone back to the store and swap it for a replacement, but I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing these two issues with their One X? I've Googled it, and there are quite a few threads about each issue, but here on XDA I don't see too many. I trust this forum more than any other.
I really wanted to love this phone too!

Not sure on data, but try volume+ in the play store...it's the go to app for volume issues.

I also noticed this low volume problem! I hate it when I'm trying to listen to music!!

The radio drops are a known problem for some, but have gotten much better with later radios. For volume, yeah check volume+

I had that exact problem with internet connection too but 1.85 fixed it.
The sound issue is weird though.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
What's odd is that all day yesterday it seemed fine. It seems time was just the key here. We'll see how this goes.
You can make your own ringtone with any MP3 and any software for sound editing (like SounForge). You can cut some part of the song and make it louder (I advice you to make a preset for equalizer with 120-140% louder and no 60Hz frequency)
P.S. Sorry for my bad English.
I have been having the same issues with the volume with my one x. I emailed HTC about the problem then it auto corrected itself. It all started after this at&t 1.85 update. I haven't factory reset yet, which is what HTC recommended, I hope that enough people complain so HTC actually does something about it. I love the phone though.

It was found that the fast dormancy feature is not compatible with all network carriers.
Therefore, fix for that (only for ROOTed phones) is available using a change to the build.prop file.
The needed change is detailed here:
ro.ril.disable.power.collapse=1
ro.ril.fast.dormancy.rule=1 change to =0
I have just spend 2 hours on phone coping first HTC and T-Mobile.
In HTC they told me there is issue with towers in my area.
I call T-Mobile and after 1 hour 30 min they figure it out they have technical issue with towers I ask why my wife's wildfire S is doing great "my personal technician" it depends on witch tower, witch channel and finally witch device so hopefully they will fix floating signal in 72 hours and that's will close m y case. If not HTC this time will not get any reason to denide warranty and will send me new phone

Standard CS BS. I think you'll find that the new phone will have the same problem. I believe it is a radio issue. I hear flashing the European radios helps but not brave enough to try.

I'm also having this problem.
Just randomly the phone will just disconnect from the network. Takes it about a few minutes (1 to 5 minutes) then it suddenly reconnects.
I've heard changing the micro-sim was a fix but that didnt work for me. I thought maybe it was a ROM issue but I've been rooted for about 2 months now (the issue started happening a day later).
Has anyone actually tried the build.prop fix?
Well after yesterday phonecalls TO HTC and t mobile situation gets a lot better.
Usually was 10 15 times per day today only 2 times on lunch time.
I don't know maybe my phone get a better day or they really fixing something
We will see tomorrow
Ps
I don't won't to root mine until devs will not find other way to s off. I don't won't to lose warranty

I think i read that's a prob with the US Tmo variant. Radio. Supposed to be fixed with latest RUU 1.84. If not, go bug HTC about it. Most likely their crap.
You could also try to flash the latest Radio from EU RUU 1.78 (0.16.31501S.17_2_10.23.31501S.10L) which is one generation ahead.
Check my MediaFire folder. Got the zip's in there. untested though. need be brave for this. And u'll need a custom recovery. and be unlocked of course.

Don't let HTC fool you. Their ICS radios SUCK. Same issues with the Amaze 4G when it updated from GB to ICS. Its not the towers
I think I'm gonna flash the EU radio just because I've got nothing to lose at this point.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
The EU radios are not a problem for the device. They also work in the US. The problem is rather to get them flashed. I couldn't really swap radios. My device just didn't accept the flash.

I've also noticed it's gotten better so something is changing somewhere. But still the problem persists.
FWIW, I've rooted every device I've had since the G1 (6 devices[G1, N1, G2, MT4G, MT4GS and 1S]) and never had any issue initiating a warranty exchange or getting warranty service.

It flashed alright with success message but the radio didn't change. The chip wouldn't accept the write. Probably S-OFF required.
I've spent some two hours waiting at the hospital today and had enough time to check out the connection under bad signal conditions.
I must say, the HOS radio of the latest EU ruu is having severe problems with keeping the connection alive. Even my HD2 with gingerbread was a lot better. This phone suxx with bad signal. And this is not in the US where this problem has mostly been reported. This is in Germany.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one. I really like this phone a lot but with the signal dropping so much I really want to change phones. I bought it off wirefly so in pretty much stuck with it for the next two years.

It happens to me too sometimes. I just flashed the latest European radio and it worked fine for me.
I'm having the same issue. I've tried three different radios and several different roms and now i'm back to stock by using a restore I had before going crazy on my phone with the available roms... It seems that the stock rom drops signal as well. It just elegantly drops the connection and then reconnects whereas all the custom roms I've tried don't. Not sure what to do... I mostly purchased the One S for its hardware.
These are the radio's I've tried and they all have much of the same problem on my phone.
Radio from RUU_Ville_U_HTC_Europe_1.78.401.2
0.16.31501S.17_2_10.23.31501S.10L
Radio from OTA_Ville_U_TMOUS_1.84.531.2
0.16.31501S.16_2_10.22.31501S.10L
Radio from Stock T-Mobile US
0.16.31501S.02_10.18.31501S.08L
If anyone knows of a fix for this, I'd be more than happy to try it.
After hours with t-mobile personal technician they figure out they will replace my phone. Phone was bought on craig's list - something like e bay but free - and what's interesting T-Mobile will exchange for new one. We will see what's the story with new one
good luck to everybody

I`m having signal issues, as well. Whereas my wife`s phone has very good connection whatever the places we`ve been to, mine was struggling. And strange ups and downs with full and suddenly no connection at all within same area. I tried several ROMs and flashed the latest radio but still suffers. Regardless I`m in an area with full signal, when I switch to 3G then the signal instantly drops some bars. Very annoying....
Hi @ll. To me subject is over. Im using new replacement phone for 3 days and none of previous problems appear. I have no clue what was a problem. HTC blame t-mobile and t-mobile blame HTC. After all I get replacement device and 3 days phone work without any problem. Battery life is now much better because phone is not looking for signal. Still signal is floating but it is not going under 2 bars and device is all the time login in network.
So good luck to everybody. Greetings.

So even if I flash the stock ROM and put a custom ROM (like CM9 for example), this problem will not be fixed ??!! Even if I update the radio ?

Phone won't vibrate at all?

I've had this phone for about 3 months and never had a problem with it but out of nowhere it stopped vibrating and I have no clue why. All my vibration settings are on but still no vibrate for anything at all. I've been running smokins Sick Sense Rom and never had any problems till now. Plus I just tried installing cm10(switched back to sense) did a full wipe but still no vibrate altho when in cm10 I didn't check the settings for vibration. It's seems like its a hardware issue but that makes no sense because I have not dropped the phone once. Any help would be appreciated.

Return to stock and if it still doesn't vibrate return it to the carrier/store where you got it.

Restore back to stock ruu and see if you experience same problem. If you do then call att for replacement and make sure you re-lock the bootloader and have stock ruu before u return .
Please refer to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1582940.html, people experienced similar problems you can contact them and check how they got resolved
But wait till any senior experience member comments
