I've been getting some inaccurate GPS readings recently and I've tried the aGPS app clearing and redownloading GPS data as well as flashing the GPS fix (ver 3.1) found here on xda forums. The result remains unchanged. What other steps should I do?
As you can see, the read distance is pretty far lol

If your inside your home your phone can't use GPS, but uses the cellular antennas. So you get an approximate location. Try using your GPS outside. If this isn't your case than try changing GPS region. You can read THIS post
I've tried inside and out of my home and it can get pretty wacky at times. Sometimes its accurate, sometimes it's like shown in the picture above.
But I do get accurate results while I am outside more often though.

Yeah something is very wrong in the new version of maps.
I have the same problem. I am running CM10 so this is not a sense issue. I found force closing maps stops it for a little while.

try turning off GPS and see if that helps any. Do you have location history or location tracking enabled through the settings on maps? Try messing with the settings there.
I just went poking around in maps settings and found location history was enabled. This seems like it was the problem. Thanks for the tip!

My settings were/are all off. No history or reporting (that I authorized anyway)

It only seems to use the GLONASS satellites intermittently.
Is GLONASS fully available in the European versions?
Could it be added to a custom ROM?

The signal strength is vrappy at best, though, so I'm not exactly sure if this would benefit you at all -- until the US of A decide to invade the world and revoke access to their GPS satellites.

Actually, the strength of one of the GLONASS satellites is equal to, or stronger than 6 of the USA ones in the capture I posted.

Practically, this was a very constant descent, so it should be more or less a straight line. My girlfriend uses the same apps but on a Pixel 4a and gets smooth altitudes. Factory resetting the phone also didn't help... So I really think, this a general problem with my particular phone or Pixel 3as in general. Does anybody else have such problems? Or even a solution?
The graph you posted only shows the end result and the reason for the fluctuations could be many things.
I would think the app or graphing software you are using would ignore readings that are over a certain threshold, so check the settings. Or you can just upgrade to a 4a.
Thank you! As it affects all apps I really think that it must be a faulty output of the GPS. As those tracks are always recorded in an unobstructed environment (the air ;-) ) I can exclude almost all errors discussed in your linked article. They would maybe explain 10s of meters of fluctuation but not ~500m. Those are also not singular readings but a couple of readings in a row, so not really outliers. I just wanted to check if there are others with the same problem or if my phone is defect.
My phone's(LG G6) network signal strength is often NOT stable. Any solution or recommended app to help boost it?

Cool stuff bro
Try a network reset if you haven't already, a painless reset.
Clear System Cache found on the boot menu, never hurts and can fix many strange erratic behaviors.
Do not do a reload; find the root cause and correct. Otherwise it will probably just reoccur even if the hard reset initially seems to work.

permissions.
