Battery hog!
I still get decent battery life believe it or not.

Yeah something is very wrong in the new version of maps.
I have the same problem. I am running CM10 so this is not a sense issue. I found force closing maps stops it for a little while.

try turning off GPS and see if that helps any. Do you have location history or location tracking enabled through the settings on maps? Try messing with the settings there.
I just went poking around in maps settings and found location history was enabled. This seems like it was the problem. Thanks for the tip!

My settings were/are all off. No history or reporting (that I authorized anyway)

Mods, I know this is an app question and we do have a app sections but I assumed it had a higher possibility of being answered in the accessories section.
Q. Is there an app with can measure ma's to a battery? I know WM has a similar program called tbattery. I just received my red ebay battery and wanted to see if they are really (when it comes to numbers) 1800ma batteries.
Thanks. I'll post pics, when I get an app.
search for batterylife widget from curvefish, you can configure to show extended info in the settings
It only shows mv not mah

I don't think there is, Batteryboss.org uses this setup to determine mah.

I don't think they would go through so much trouble if there was an app for it. Hope that helps.
Anyone happen to know i could wire a battery to work for the hd2? Foil or some sort of wiring. WM has a cab which reads mah with no problem. Tbattery.

TouchGraph allows you to visualize your Android device usage. It plots out everywhere on the screen you have touched, to an exportable and sharable image. Options include starting at device boot, and displaying the touch. Displaying the touch will visually show all touches as they are done.
Root is NOT required.
Best of all? Its FREE, with a Pro upgrade to include additional features.
Get, and read more about it it here: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.bripts.touchgraph

I see you're using ICS, good to know it's working on that too!
How has everything been working out?
Also, please rate it , 5 stars hopefully!
Any additional comments from anyone else?
Going to be working on developing this out further after exams. Any suggestions?

Uninstall it? Or turn it off?

Lol, removing isn't fixing...
Perhaps it could be Google+'s automatic photo uploading or synching?
Try turning that option off, or limiting its synching/updating frequency?

The wierd thing is - this happened during the day i installed google+
I haven't seen it again since...wierd.
Thanks for your advice anyway!
So it happened that once, then never again?
Nice to hear the problem fixed itself... Though I wonder what caused it?
Could be some sort of first time sync from configuring it on the new rom. Who knows?

That to me looks most likely some setting and ROM issue. Make a backup flash another ROM try how it goes but am pretty sure Any other ROM shouldn't drain this much. Don't want to judge any ROM or anything just trying to help.
What battery model is it? Some of the extended batteries going around are just regular cells in a fat case with shims, especially the cheaper ones.
Hi everyone!
I just got a Nexus 5 and it seems that the Google app (not Google Services) is draining my battery. It used 23%, while the next biggest user was the Android system with 4%. What causes this? Is it because the Google app is also the launcher? Or is it a bug?
I already looked in the Battery thread but couldn't really find anything useful (as most of it concerned the Play Services). I hope someone can help me!
Kind regards!

Try disabling location permission using app ops (need to be rooted) see if that helps you. http://i.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/1zxri4/google_play_services_battery_drain_the_real read whole article I know its not quite what your issue is but seems close.
Good luck.

Thanks for the reply! The problem seems to have fixed itself overnight, probably a bug in the Google App.
