Gapps force close - Motorola Atrix 2

Does anyone know why after updating to ics on at&t, I get this error sometimes (look at attached pic)? Phone is stock and never rooted

Have you tried rebooting? This is hard to fix without root. Also go through and clear the caches for all of your google apps (Gmail, Maps, Gtalk, etc) by going to Settings - Apps - All. Hope this helps.

Clear the cache
Try going into the application manager and clear the cache. I had constant force closes in market and clearing my cache fixed it.
I'm guessing you changed the original theme? it seems some kernel versions doesn't go too well with changing the xml from your themes or whatever. the only thing i can think of is to back-up, reflash the system and restore everything but the theme.
If clearing the cache doesn't work then try to uninstall vending.apk and reinstalling.

I have just recently rooted my nexus one 2.2 froyo. Tried cleaning out the cache in the market but will not stay cleared. All other apps clear out with no problem. I go into applications, manage apps, go to the market and click clear cache. It clears it out. Go into my market and all the old apps I went looking for over the past few months since I had this phone are all there. Go back to the manage apps setting and all the cache imfo is back on. The white light saying clear cache is back all lit up again. Why won't market clear out cache but all other apps do?????
Any imfo would help me.
Thank you Vinny.

Apps On Device Not Showing in Market

Even after using the fix market links option in titanium backup (which finds none missing) the market application still doesn't recognize over 100 Apps on my device. Any recommendations? Running Th3ory of ginger rom 3.51. Hard to know what updates are available if the apps installed aren't recognized by the market.

Nobody else has this problem?
Try going to settings and apps and clearing market data and cache.. it's a stretch but it might work

Thank you for the response. Attempted to do this, however clear data and clear cache are both grayed out. Apparently this isn't even an option with the market app.
Any other ideas?
Anybody? I can't believe I'm the only one with this problem!

I had this problem earlier. When I rebooted the phone they weren't grayed out anymore. After clearing the data and cache my apps showed up
i have this problem too. i will give the above a try and give feedback.
Well, I don't know why, but the only thing that I found that fixes this aside from a reflash is to use the mybackup pro application's fix market links, reboot twice, and all fixed. So, if anybody else has this problem, give this a shot and tell me if it worked for you too. Kinda pissed that titanium backup couldn't fix it but mybackup pro could. I paid for TiBu

[Support] Just started getting FCs on google services framework.

Hi all,
I'm on Humble 1.42 and things have been fine with the ROM. But last night I began getting a bunch of FCs against Google Services Framework. It slows down the phone something fierce.
Anyone know could be the cause of this? And more importantly, how to fix it?

I am on gummy charged froyo and I started having the same thing happen yesterday...
Strange...
This happend to me a few weeks ago. I found a thread that discribed a process of shutting off all account syncs, then clearing data on email, contacts, and calendar the resync everything and it worked great! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=792691 Try that link. I read somewhere that it could be more than contacts thats why I did all of them. You could loose some data if you do this. I didn't.
Nope, wiping data didn't help. I am still getting FCs on a regular if random basis.

Wipe all data, and caches. Reflash rom and that should fix your problems. Also if your trying to use google voice search ive noticed that all the roms fc on that. To fix that go into market download google search and use the new widget and that solves that issue. Hope this helps.

Market broken after tether hack

Running updated, rooted, stock. Performed entitlement check hack for tethering. Tether works great. But now a number of things are happening.
1) error "process com.motorola.service.main" fc
2) error "process com.motorola.socialservice" fc
3) play store cannot download
4) screenlock not there
multiple other fc's
Have reverted entitlement check back to 1 and still happening.
Any ideas?
Screen lock not there? Like a blank screen?
And a quick google search from my end is not showing this hack for atrix 2. I'm only seeing it for OG atrix and bionic.
Little more info? The more you give the better we can help you. A link to the thread where you got the "hack" would be helpful as well. It helps to know what the mod actually modifies.
Hack came from xda atrix2 dev forum.
When I press the power button to wake device, it goes straight to home screen. No "Slide to unlock" screen.

ok, have you tried to set the settings back to what they were originally?

Its a very common issue with google play store, what you have to do is go to manage app/all apps/google play store and uninstall updates
Now your old market will be restored launch it accept anything it says after it loads everything close it go again to all apps and to market this time and clear data and cache and perform a reboot.
After reboot launch market and hit my apps you should see your preinstalled apps in the list.
Now download 2-3 apps from market and in 10 mins it will be automatically updated to google play and you'll be able to download apps from Google play.
This method was assisted by Google support team to me when i had this problem so give it a try.
First thing I did was revert to original.
Uninstalled Play Store updates. Stopped the install crashes but installs start and just stop with no message. All other errors still happening. Seems to be something to do with google log in( I'm guessing). I'm reluctant to remove the google account because I don't want to lose all the work I've put in so far.
Any other ideas?
Might be time to flash the fxz, if you didn't make CWM backup.

After much deliberation (and frustration) I have rolled back to 2.3.5. I've decided to wait for ICS. Thanks to Jim and the device team. For the work they are doing.
Sent from my A500 using xda premium
wait... were you on ICS? And you were able to FXZ back to 2.3.5? Or you were on 2.3.6?
I have the entitlement check disabled on ICS for tethering and haven't had any new problems introduced. Have a feeling maybe something else happened here.

Weird market error

Ok. So I keep getting this error message when I try to download apps. It doesn't happen to all of them. Weird thing is I can download this app to my transformer with no problems and once it's downloaded to that I can download it on my phone using the my apps section. I'm stock rooted cwm touch recovery. I've cleared market data and wiped cache several times. Any help would be great.

Just clear the data for Google Services Framework.
Seems to work since I've done that and wipe Google play data again and rebooted. Thank you so much

I used to get a similar error back in the android market days. Some gentle google searches led me to believe it has to do with downloading too many apps in a short time period.

Np, had the same problem but it would happen with every download.
Interesting pwhoeler, I wonder if its too many in a short period of time, or too many at the same time (Or both) - may have to play with it.

Had this same issue.
For folks new to this Google Services Framework can be found: Settings>Application Manager>"ALL" Tab">Google Services Framework>Clear Data
Yea. It had nothing to do with downloading to many apps. Once I cleared the Google services data and market data again it was fine after aafter a reboot
