ICS Camera - Motorola Atrix 2

My camera is taking good pictures for the first time. It's not as good as my point and shoot but it's really close now. And it doesn't even have purple tints!

Picture Clarity
attached some of the photos i clicked in my atrix 2 stock ROM
since i flashed CM10, i can clearly see my cameras poor performance in terms of clarity..

OP ..... we have seperate "themes & apps" section in which camera apps are already posted
please search before !!

What do you mean by continuous autofocus?
continuous auto focus is indeed available on i9003 I shoot tons of video last 6 months with this phone, what problem are you having?

Dont angry bro..ronhoover is a very good guy. What ronhoover said is right. He just wanted to tell u that u have posted ur querry in wrong section. This section is purely for something new developement. You just rename ur post that ' move to general thread'.

Well, ron has a point firstly, this section has been given our own development and general unlike the previous section, So please request your queries in the general section from now on. Also ron has had his share of people who constantly avoid reading the rules so you may have to not bear your fangs at him for that.
The stock video doesn't autofocus btw. But you can pinch to zoom. So far the stock recorder isn't reliable? On a certain level the audio becomes fuzzy like trying to record a concert or festival would make the audio inaudible and annoying. But ofcourse no one uses their phone for such festives. You may need to research since the camera.apk from SonyE is driver dependent and not compatible with ours. Maybe CM7 version fixes this. Also you haven't mentioned what firmware you are on, that's your biggest mistake

stock video indeed autofocus have you ever shot video with it by changing subject distance? if yes then the camera automatically adjust focus distance that's called continuous autofocus, this requires certain light level else auto focus will fail that might be the reason OP complained.
Try shooting in daylight with 4 feet distance from subject now suddenly go closer to 1feet, the camera will auto focus to 1feet distance, now further go to 4 inch distance & camera will auto focus in macro mode, now come back to 4 feet it will again adjust the focus ...............hope its clear, at least my camera does & I have shot 1000s of video with this phone, truly amazing hd quality, sound is not of pro quality & the pinch to zoom is in reality cropping the video thus lowering the resolution.
@sgsl, Hmm I never knew that, Thanks for the info Most of the times I had to do the manual focus. The standard zoom just shows everything by default. Maybe it was because I was on Froyo when I did most my recording, Haven't done so in the GB series. Wonder if it's a new feature. Regardless, Thanks.
I am talking about froyo only last 6 months have been on xxkb3, just 2 days ago I updated to xxkpm, nothing has changed in GB the camera has always been like that.
Moreover manual focus you are talking about is only in still camera, in video cam you cant do any thing to focus, the cam does on its own.
First of all, stock video does auto-focus. Secondly, OP needs a hard lesson on gumption. Please post in the correct section *facepalm*

Samsung camera replacement

Hello there. I wasent sure if this went here or in the Apps department or in the general . But anyway. I really like the samsung camera app. But I also really like cm10. But im keeping touchwiz just for the camera. So my question is this. What camera would you recommend that has all the same features as the stock one?

I haven't found one that has the instant shutter but overall I like ProCapture the best, which takes good pictures and also has a panoramic mode, touch to focus etc. Camera Zoom FX is also another popular one, but I don't think it has panoramic but it does have burst. Neither are exactly like the TW camera but both are pretty good apps IMO.

[Request]100% jpeg quality on stock camera

I'm really surprised how poor is the development for One S, but I still have hopes :good:
My request is towards a capable developer, who can mod the stock camera app, to be able to save the jpgs with maximum quality, because it really sucks. Every app, capable of shooting with 100% jpeg quality, makes way better pics, than the stock cam app. I have tried a couple of apps, but all they lack the comfortability of the stock one, and I think that this will make it at least comparable to my former Xperia Arc S camera(8MP also, but way more capable).
Tried this?

This is only for video bitrate, as only this is stated in the thread, so I haven't tried it. I'm speaking of jpeg quality.
Edit - sory, the title says 100jpeg, so I'll give it a try and report my thread for deletion.
ReEdit - tried it - the same crappy images, compared to the Camera ICS+ for example.

[Q] JB Camera Stock FOV/Aspect Ratio

Hi all,
after almost getting rid of my Sensation, finaly got round to taking the leap to get a JB rom, to extend the life of the handset. Everything has gone well, and I've installed Albinomans ROM fine. I have noticed one thing so wanted to ask any JB based rom users a question.
In the stock JB camera app the pictures are in 4:3 format (which is fine, and I know there is a flashable zip, but bear with me). I prefer this aspect ratio for pictures, however, when taking a picture, the whole screen is taken up, which is effectively a 16:9 screen, so its hard to frame pictures correctly.
Basically, if you have a JB rom, when taking a picture, is the whole screen taken up? And then when you look at the picture taken it the gallery, is there more above and below what you saw then you took the photo.
I'm interested to know if this is the behaviour of a JB camera in general or maybe something to do with the ROM I have. I dont have enough posts to ask a specific queestion in the DEV thread, but I would appreciate any feedback.
If there is no way round it then I will have to just settle for using camera ICS from the market so I can see what I want to take
Thanks in advance
Jonny

Hi, ive been using this mod for a while now http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901917 . Just flash it and then make sure you are opening the right camera app (There will be 2 now!) . The correct one has the option to choose 16:9. However if force closes first time but dont worry it only happens once!

Thanks for the reply. I have come across that mod in my searches before posting, and its the flashable zip that I mention in my opening post. I'm less concerned about 16:9 and more concerned that 4:3 is shown properly - tbh both would be nice.
Seeing as you have it installed, can you tell me if the non 16:9 modes correctly show the right aspect ratio? If so, it should have a border on the sides, like the ICS camera, then go back to full screen when you chose the 16:9 option.
Are we able to remove that flashed version if its not what is wanted? From what you say it won't replace the original but would probably like to get rid of it if its not suitable.
Thanks for replying, would appreciate the info I mention above.
Cheers

Leonovo camera for G2 AOSP Rom!

Hi all!
First of all, all credits goes to Juan Carlos
I just want to share what i found surfing on internet!
The main thread was for Note 3, and Lg G3, but i tryed to install on G2 and it's all working!
Photo are really amazing, but cannot change resolution, only aspect ratio
HDR works
(sometimes screen become colored, just move the phone and return to the main object and all work)
Videos work, but no option for 4K, only FHD, HD, 480p
and when you take a photo, you will see the thumbnail in the right down corner, if you press it nothing will happen, i think because the package doesnt have gallery, only photocamera
Some photo by me here:
IMGUR
How to install:
-Download the .Zip package
-copy it on Internal memory
-reboot to recovery
-flash .zip package
-follow aroma and choose what you want to install
-reboot
-enjoy
V6 - changelog:
-Update Lenovo Camera
-New Values for media profiles for 2160p recorder
-Add Memory Bootanimation fix
-Try it in Blisspop ROM
PD: 4k only works on blisspop roms for now

I hope what i found help who want stock quality in AOSP ROM for our G2!
Leave thumbs up
Don't mean to disrespect your post, but I disagree on some things you stated. Keep in mind that I tried this on slim 5.1.1, maybe it's different than Rom you are using.
HDR does not crash, but I wouldn't say it works because the pics are no different than with HDR off. Regular pic quality (normal mode or whatever) is exactly the same as aosp camera in same conditions. With flash on, the pics are just crap compared to aosp one, it's like the flash is not synced with shutter or something, the ones with aosp are definitely better lit. Panorama, it's not even worth mentioning, completely useless and obnoxious, stretches out the picture in a weird way, doesn't focus. After all of these issues I didn't even bother trying out video. The gallery thing is an issue as you mentioned. Far, far from stock quality I am afraid.
I would post some pics I made, but I deleted them before I saw your post and I am returning back to stock as I write. I gave aosp a shot and I liked it, but I use camera a lot and I want a good quality one. After doing some thorough research and testing, there's nowhere near a replacement for stock cam and most of them don't have more than 50% of functions working. And I started to love aosp.. Oh well, you can't have it all

Testing it on a Slim rom is kinda pointless. They make too many changes to the dpi as well as other base system files so things may work on an AOSP rom but will be terrible on Slim roms.

Any particular rom you suggest to try this on? Slim worked flawlessly for me on vs980, but I would try something else if it can bring improvement to pic quality. I assumed that, camera wise, they are all the same. I might check Blisspop
