Poetic CoverMate Case for Kindle Fire HD
Hello Everyone,
I am sure you have seen my reviews for the Poetic Hardback and Poetic Slimbook cases that I recently posted. After interacting with Poetic, they were kind enough to send me their new Kindle Fire HD case called the Poetic CoverMate. The case is available in three distinct styles. Now for those of you that do not want the added bulk of a case on your Kindle Fire HD, this is the case for you. The case is as slim in profile as is the actual case offered by Amazon for 44.99. In fact it upstages the original Amazon case by not only offering the exact same fit and function, but by incorporating some fantastic designs onto its covers. Here are the three Cases offered by Poetic in their Covermate series.

The Poetic CoverMate comes with the Automatic Sleep and Wake feature which allows your Kindle Fire HD to be awakened by lifting the cover open and put to sleep by shutting the cover. The Kindle Fire HD when inserted into the case is completely flush with the case, so it actually inserts into the case and there is nothing holding it over the top of the screen, absolutely no screen obstruction. The back of the case is a very hard rubberized poly-carbonate material while the front of the case features a polyurethane cover. Not only will this provide protection for your device, but the rubberized surface feels silky soft and adds some grip to the case, especially needed if you are holding the device for a prolonged time and are prone to sweaty hands. The back of the case also features cut outs in both locations for the speakers. I notice no discernable difference in sound with the case on my Fire HD or with the case off of the Fire HD.There is also a cutout on the back of the case to allow you to turn the case into a stand. An elastic strap is also located on the rear cover that allows you to hold your device closed when the cover is over the screen.
There are cutouts located on the case in all the necessary locations. The Poetic CoverMate contains cutouts that allow you to charge your device with the case closed, the mini USB and mini HDMI are fully accessible. Also there is nothing obstructing the power button nor the physical volume buttons on the Kindle Fire HD. This is the slimmest case available for the Kindle Fire HD up to this point. The materials used in making this case are high quality as well. Please take the time to look through the pictures I have posted below as well as my video review. All of my devices in my home have had Poetic cases on them for the past 3 years, and to this date I still have not had to replace any of them. They make an extremely high quality product, and their 3 year warranty protects your investment. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here or on my youtube video. If you need any more pictures, just ask and I can have them up for you. Enjoy :good:!

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 neoprene cases

Hello 8.9 users . I know a lot of people prefer leather cases or smart covers, but what i am looking for is a good soft neoprene case that will protect my tab against eventual drops or scratches, when i'm carrying it around. I don't like the ones where you have to stretch them to get the tab inside, and i much prefer the ones with a zip on the side.
I was thinking of getting something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Red-Slim-Ne...ltDomain_0&hash=item337143b173#ht_1152wt_1396 but it ships from USA and i don't like the shipping costs and delivery time. The other thing, it lists as a case for tab 10.1 too, that means the 8.9 will probably "swim" in it a little bit. Can anyone confirm this?
Has anyone found something similar to this one (or better), that is preferably shipping from Europe? Please do share what kind of neoprene case did you get for your 8.9.
Can't be that no one likes neoprene?
Yah...most cases are leather or pleather. =) Here are a couple links that might help.

I am planning on getting the Belkin Leather case. They make a neoprene one though too. I don't think you will have too many options other than maybe making one for a DIY project. In the long run though it maybe cheaper just to the pay the shipping and get what you want. Time is money!

What is the shipping like for you over seas?
I just picked up this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/29064036495...NX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_5130wt_952
It fits perfect. The Model is the A7s. Ignore the models specifically labeled "8.9", they're too big. The A7s fits perfect with no stretching. It's not neoprene, but a kind of pleather. However, it has a memory foam layer that makes it very cushy. It zips all the way open on three sides. I also got this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Case-for-Ga...Accessories&hash=item45ffdeff77#ht_2358wt_814 which also fits perfectly. When the plastic cover is on, it still fits great in the memory foam case.

Looks good. Can you post pictures when you get everything all set up?
Here's an ebay post with a different colored plastic cover, but is the same thing. More pictures. www.ebay.com/itm/Galaxy-Tab-8-9-P73...?pt=US_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item3a702df2dd. As far as the case, it looks pretty much identical to the pictures in the listing. The fit is exact for The 8.9. There is no extra space, either height or width.
I might be a lil late here, but I just recieved the following case, and love it.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006WBVU50/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/192-3119395-3706453
most of the cases i picked up were for all galaxy devices so my tablet has a lot of free space to bounced around.
Just wanna let you guys know that i recently got the iLuv sleeve for my 8.9. If you want neoprene and whole lot of protection and soft materials, stop looking, because this is the best one. It fits perfectly, no bouncing around. Payed 24 euros for it, but it's worth it.
Has little triangles on both sides, that add to overall rigidity and extra protection if it accidentally drops, since they soak up the impact. It also has a pocket on the outside, where you can put your smartphone or other accessories. All in all, it's a very nice and high quality sleeve, i'm very happy with it. Here are some photos:

[Review][+Pics]Seidio Surface Case (w/ Holster)

If anyone can't see these photos, let me know as they are hosted on another forum.
Seidio SURFACE with Metal Kickstand
Pictures are worth a thousand words but there are also times when pictures just can't explain what you are trying to say... so, here's to both!

The Surface case for the Nexus 4 is another prime example of why many people, including myself, love Seidio's cases and holsters.
The Surface Case: Seidio uses a plastic that features a "soft touch" for the case. It's relatively heavy duty case and provides much needed protection for anyone who uses their phone and are unable to "baby it" 24/7. The case slips together seamlessly to provide that added protection. The inside/back portion of the case is felt lined as well to prevent damage or broken glass.
The case is available in Black, White, Garnet Red, Amethyst and Royal Blue.
The cutouts for the ports, buttons, sensors, microphones, etc are all cut perfectly and the case does not interfere with their operation. You cannot access the SIM card tray with the case in place (to my knowledge this is pretty much the same with every case on the market). The camera and flash all function properly and are not impeded. Also, it provides much appreciated lip to the front of the phone that keeps the screen safe when placing the phone face down on a table/desk.
The case allows the phone to feel much more comfortable (both physically and mentally) when using using a shoulder to hold the phone. The best part is that I don't feel like I have to baby the phone or worry about bumping into a table while the phone is in my pocket.
The kickstand... well, I honestly feel like kickstands are a bit gimmicky. That being said I appreciate that this one is metal (not a cheap plastic). It's also spring loaded and held in place by a small magnet. It only works in landscape and does not work in portrait. Ironically, I find myself using the kickstand more times than not!
The case functions fine with SGP screen protector but does not appear like it would play nicely with screen protectors that wrap around the side of the screen. Seidio also sells screen protectors that I'm sure would work fine with their case. I've put the case on/off 25+ times since receiving it and it is holding up fine and has not scratched the chrome trim on my N4
It's worth noting that I do NOT have access to a wireless charger and cannot confirm nor deny if wireless charging functions with this case.
The Holster: I chose to get the option with the holster. The holster is, by far, one of my favorite items from Seidio. When the Surface Case is on the phone, it can be used in combination with the holster to store the phone quickly and easily and SECURELY on your belt. The phone and case snap face-in to the holster to help keep the screen clear from danger. The actual belt clip is heavy duty and swivels and "snaps" into 7 different possible positions so you can keep the holster vertical or horizontal (at either direction). There is also a felt lining on the inside of the holster to help keep your screen scratch free (though while being carried in the holster, the screen doesn't touch anything).
The charging port, volume keys, headphone jack, power key... pretty much everything but the screen... is accessible while the phone is in the holster.
More photos can be found HERE!
Want one? Go get it HERE for $34.95. Want a holster too? Get it HERE for $54.95.
Feel free to let me know if more photos are wanted/needed or if there are any questions. I'll also be working on getting a review up for their Active Case soon for anyone who may be interested.
do you have a QI wireless charger to try if it charges the phone with this case on?
saw a user feedback on Amazon that it interfere the wireless charging.
I like the design of the case, but no wireless charging is a deal breaker.
EDIT: oppss... just saw your comment again, and you did mention you have no wireless charger.
Thanks so much for this review. What a smexy case! I've been thinking of going with a holster type case, but I think I'll hold off till my next phone buy.
RE: the wireless thing, I am not sure if they just now literally added this to their product page, but when I checked just now it says in bold letters:
The SURFACE™ with Metal Kickstand is not compatible with wireless charging.

Forefront Leather Folding Stand Case for KFHD 7" 2013

Hello everyone !
First time poster here, and I will start with the review of a case I just received, the Leather Folding Stand Case for the Kindle Fire HD 7" (2013), by Forefront. (I cannot post links yet, but it is easy to google). As usual "leather" is a bit misleading since it is PU leather, which is a nice word for leathery plastic. On to the review proper, and I apologize for any language inconsistencies, English is not my mother tongue.
The market for tablet/smartphone cases has been flooded with tons of different original designs and even more clones and knock-offs, and while it is sometimes hard to say with absolute which product copies which, the finishing touches and the quality assurance tend to be dead giveaways.
I ordered the case for 9,99 € + 2,99 € shipping from Forefront UK through Amazon on Friday and received it the following Tuesday, which is unusually fast shipping. It came in a padded enveloppe, together with two goodies : a screen protector and a stylus. But more on that later.
The shell is made of hard plastic that fits the tablet snuggly. It has holes in the back for the speakers and the now slighty sunk buttons are still reachable. The cover is made of two layers seemingly stitched together : the outside layer (synthetic "leather") extends onto the back of the case, while the front layer (some kind of felt) extends onto the inside of the case. Thanks to two magnets on the case and presumably a metal rod in the cover, the case snaps shut just like a Smart Cover (and the Kindle does sleep/wake up on cue). Sounds good so far.
Pros :
- looks pretty good
- works as advertised (protection and smart cover)
- it is not too bulky for the protection it offers
- relatively cheap compared to other similar cases in Europe
Cons :
- very strong industrial plastic smell
- does not lay flat when opened
- not very stable when used as a stand
- speakers are covered by… the cover when used as a stand (you read that right)
I should elaborate a bit on the cons.
The smell might go away after a while, but only time will tell. That being said, I have three other cases and none of them smelled so strongly.
The second and third cons could have been solved easily, but as I wrote before the devil is in the details : the "hinge" between the case and the cover would have been perfect were it not for the angled profile of the Kindle's back.
As for the speakers muffled by the case, it is completely inexcusable. Most such cases are meant to be used as stands in landscape mode, and Forefront probably designed the case so that the Amazon logo on the back of the Kindle would not be upside down… however the speakers being below the Amazon logo, they are automatically covered by the folded cover flap. Of course that makes absolutely no sense because the tablet can be used in either position and the Amazon logo is hidden by the case anyway. The trivial solution would have been to put the hinge on the other side of the case.

Lastly, the goodies. The stylus is a generic mass-produced model stamped with a Forefront logo. Worth 1 € at most. I cannot comment on the quality of the screen guard (as they call it) because the one I received was for the 2012 KFHD. I will write to Forefront about it and hope they will send me the right size.
My opinion ? It is probably not the worst case out there, but some of the annoyances (does not lay flat, speakers muffled) are just basic design mistakes and will not solve themselves over time. I would probably not have bought it, had I known about them beforehand.

Poetic case reviews

I’ve always been a fan of cases from Poetic. Lexus quality at Toyota prices. I usually get a folio style for my tablets or a shell for my phones. I was pretty happy when the guys at Poetic asked me if I’d be interested in reviewing their new offerings for the Z Force!
This first post will look at the Poetic Affinity in BLACK.

Protection
This case looks like it can absorb some impacts on a drop. The corners are reinforced with rubber. The edge along the screen also has a nice rubber feel to it. I don't have the exact dimensions but I love that the case has a bezel over the screen so that you can lay it face down.
Fit and Finish
Poetic always has create quality control with their products. This case is no exception. The fit and finish looks well done. The case does invite dirt specks but that's more me than the case. The Z Force fits in without any issues or problems.
Likeliness To Use
I like this case for two reasons: small footprint and stylish. I'm not a huge fan of clear cases but the black accents make it stand out. Combined with the ShatterShield, this case makes a good solution for protection.
In summary, the Affinity is a great case if you want something lightweight yet affords the best protection for the size. I should note that this case is not for you if you switch cases often. Because of the nature of the case, it is a bit stiff but should loosen up over time. That being said, I like the stiffness (heh heh).
Second case I will look at is the Poetic Revolution. The Revolution is a two piece case in that it has a front piece with a screen protector and the back hard plastic piece.
Protection
Yeah - if you want ultimate protection for your phone, buy this case. Similar to other "rugged" brands of cases, this protects your entire phone. I also believe it is advertised as water resistant. The case also includes a plug at the bottom to protect the USB C port. My little one has dropped my phone in this case more times than I can count and the case still looks new. (She also uses it as a chew toy but that's a different issue).
Fit and Finish
This absolutely feels like a premium product. Everything snaps together just like it should. The screen protector allows touch inputs through just fine. I had slight issues with dust specks but again, that's mostly the office I am in. The buttons on the side have a firm feel when pressing them in but not so hard that you would have issues. I love the texturing on the side to provide some more grip. The camera is recessed into the case to prevent any scratching. The pins for the Moto Mods are indeed exposed. I'm not sure if there will be any kind of adapter in the future to allow cases and mods but nice to know they are open.
Likeliness To Use
I was worried at first because two piece rugged cases usually are super bulky. I was super surprised that the Revolution is not much bigger than the Affinity. I'm sure there's a few mm's here and there but I can't tell when its in my pocket. I actually use this case more than the Affinity or the bumper. When you make an investment into an expensive phone, you want as much protection as possible!
Conclusion - Even if weight and size are a concern for you, I suggest you look at the Revolution. I don't wear skinny jeans but I don't wear anything super baggy. The Revolution does not imprint any more than the Affinity or even the bumper.
I will have a review up on these two same cases..Theu are really slim compared to other poetic cases ..The revolution is the best of the two for me but the affinity is a really nice clear case and has built in protection around the edges that other clear cases I've seen do not have .. a sucker for r poetic cases because I think they are the best hands down...Nice review and I will have some in the coming days just have had a busy week with different family issues ..

Did you notice on the revolution the little slits on the front that allow the back to lap over and connect the too
.Nice addition for quality and the ability not to worry like with other cases that the back will because disconnected on different areas

Review Video: Poetic Revolution case for Google Pixel XL

Hey everyone! I took a look at another case for the Pixel XL, the Revolution Case by Poetic. Enjoy!
Direct link: https://youtu.be/PvNaxexlR_s
Also reviewed the Spigen Slim Armor: https://youtu.be/qfHPox2Wyf8
and Ringke Fusion: https://youtu.be/HhxKC9InIk4
There are many brands of cases out there, some we all know and love, and some small ones we’ve never heard of. Poetic is a brand that’s been around since 2011 and is probably one of the top five case manufacturers out there. Poetic makes three cases for the Pixel and Pixel XL as of now, the Karbon Shield -- a reinforced TPU case with Carbon Fiber style texture, the Affinity -- a slim clear polycarbonate case with reinforced TPU edges, and the Revolution -- a two-piece polycarbonate and TPU rugged behemoth.
I have spent a few days with the Revolution case on my Google Pixel XL. This case gives the Otter Box a run for it’s money. Although it may not feel as premium as the Otter Box, it provides a fairly liberal amount of protection with thick polycarbonate and stiff TPU. The Pixel is installed in the front half of the case where the built in screen protection lays. Them combined pops into the thick back cover, fixed in placed by a series of clips around the border.
It may be hard to believe but It doesn’t feel as bulky as it looks. It rests nicely in my hand and is easy for me to grip. The power button has an adequate amount of tactile feedback and the volume buttons are spot on with the amount of ‘clickiness’ I like.
The cutouts for the ports, camera and headphone jack are all precise or enlarged where needed. The Type-C cutout fits my larger-than-average cable, in case you were wondering. Speaking of the Type-C port, there is a small dust cover that closes over and into the port. It doesn’t go far enough in interfere with the floating connecting wafer. I was never a fan of those covers, so I would be inclined to cut it off.
Where this case shines is it’s price tag. This case only costs $14.95 on Amazon
When comparing to the well-know Otter Box that sells for around $50, this case is a serious bargain for the protection it provides. You simply cannot find a case like this for that price. It also comes in a total of three colors, Black-on-Black, Red/Pink-on-Grey, and Blue-on-Grey. I’m a simple guy so the full black one is fine for me.
If a slim case is what you are looking for, this is certainly not what you want. If you want some serious protection, then here you go. Done!
