[tutorial] how to flash a custom rom

THIS A GENERAL GUIDE FOR NOOBS(WHO ARE NEW TO ROMS)
OK first you need your device to have unlocked boot loader, and have a recovery installed.And always do a bit of research.
hint: google- unlock bootloader .......
- root and add recovery in ....... {replace ..... with the name of your device}
[this guide assumes that you have above prerequisites]
1) download your rom[be sure that the rom you download is for your device]
2) put it in the root of your sd card (not in any folder)
3) boot into recovery(CWM,etc.)
4) first create a backup of your existing ROM by going in -backup and restore>backup
5) select wipe data/reset > yes
6) select install zip from sd card >yes
7)reboot
ENJOY !

just be sure
just be sure that the rom you downloaded is for your device

For wipin i prefer use superwipe.zip of akya22

You'll want to add 'clear cache and dalvik' after flashing. Tends to make flashing ROMs more regularly successful.

Factory reset formats /cache, /data, and /sdcard/.android_secure.
Clearing cache would be a waste of time since it's already formatted and dalvik cache is in /data so no need to wipe that either.

I am newbie and rooted my samsung galaxy GT-I5801. I want to flash CM 7. Dont know how to enter recovery mode. HOME key+Volume up key +power button will show Forced upload by key pressing instead of recovery mode. Please help how to flash cm 7

you don't have to press vol up key .
you need to press the Volume Down button + the Home key button (the middle button), while holding these both buttons, you need to switch ON your device by Pressing he Power ON button.
and the rest is the same procedure

can you be more specific -- i mean what's the prob ?

Quick question, please.......... I have Jellynote on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and now want to try Redemption Rom. Is there anything I need to do to clear out Jellynote or can I simply install the new rom right over it (after clearing the cash and wiping the data.)

Huawei G330 (u8825d) Phone Boots Into Clockwod Mod Recovery Only
I have just folled the steps to install CWM recovery and root the phone and have installed a custom rom ( tried others too)
I have done the same with other G300s and 1 other G330 so dont understand why this one doesnt work.
When you restart the phone it just goes straight to the CWM recovery screen , any ideas please?:fingers-crossed:

Go back to stock rom or try another version of CWM.

you can use cwm backup file from another huawei u8825d (Another phone have been install cwm and root)
1) another phone is rooted and installed CWM
2) to enter CWM volume up+power together press
3) backup and restore>backup
4) you get file in sd card (name as clockworkmod)
5) copy this file to sd card and insert in your phone
and then enter recovery your phone by pressing volume up+power button together, backup and restore>restore

This problem cause some U8825D.
You have already another New U8825D
First, download necessary,
_U8825D Driver ( mediafire.com/?p7h603hhfdb1r6d )
_CWM ( mediafire.com/?44ktkwlb5nca3eu )
Installing Clock Work Mode
1) First necessary to unlock U8825D.
2) Install Driver & Run CWM exe.
3) Press Volume Down + Power about 10 seconds almost to enter fastboot mode and connect your PC.
4) Press Install CWM.

And press any key to continue
5) Root
Backup & Restore with CWM
1) Micro SD insert into your new phone. To enter CWM, press Volume up + Power
2) choose backup & restore>backup.( you can get clockworkmod folder in your Micro SD )
3) Micro SD insert into your Clock Work Mode Only phone.
4) Enter recovery by pressing Volume up + Power
5) choose backup & restore>restore and choose backup file.
Reboot and All done.
----Another Ways----
-Download firmware file
-Unzip
-dload folder copy to Micro SD and insert in your phone
-Volume up+Volume down+Power together press to firmware install

yes but it has other problem.
1. it is in Chinese
2. it boot up spontaneously when it finish to charging.
i hope someone do beter recovery.

[Q] How to install a ROM

Hello everyone!
I'm a really noob on this area and I can't install a ROM first of all, ofc, I searched info, but all infos are not especific and I don't understand nothing..
I have Bootloader unlocked and I doed this procedure:
1. Install Android SDK and flashed kernel with "fastboot flash boot boot.img" (I tryed Vengeance Kernel and Thunderzap) and I rooted terminal.
2. I can't go to recovery for install the zip file of the room, I tried it 20 times on each kernel and nothing, (vengeance dual recovery too).
Power up + vol down, Power up + vol up and nothing...
3. I installed ClockWorkMod ROM Manager, and neither.. option reboot and go to recovery, don't works, phone is powerup as normal, same as install ROM from SD.
I flashed kernel before install the ROM because I read on the forums, CWM dont have a proper version for Xperia L, the only way is with vengeance or thunderzap.
I saw on other sites, "fastboot flash recovery" but not tried it.
What I need to do? I need to use "recovery" instead "boot" on fastboot command??

Try to flash boot.img (Vengeance/ThunderZap kernel) via flashify app (need root access).
To enter cwm/twrp on Vengeance/ThunderZap kernel, you just turn off and the turn on again (restart/reboot) you phone, wait until the LED turns up (purple) and then press (twice or more) vol. up/down (cwm) or power off button (twrp). I hope this can help you

OMG... very thanks mate!! Now I have my ROM installed ^^! Im doing power off + volume down for that I can't in on cwm! XD thx!
Last quick questions, is recommended to wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition?

Yes.. but if you won't your installed app removed, don't wipe data. But very recommended to wipe data

Enter to Cwm
Put you download into out of sdcard/memoricard..
Flash via CWM
Open CWM
====>>wipe data ,chache, dalvick chache
Wait, til process down.

====>>first chose "instal zip from sdcard0"
====>>Chose stock rom folder you put on out sdcard..
====>>chose yes instal stock rom.zip
Wait, until process clear..
====>>and chose go back,

custom recovery not properly install

when i am install custom recovery by odin then its became pass but not to reboot into custom recovery.when im am switch of my phone an pressing the button of vol+and power+home and its reboot into stock recovery.
whats the problem bro????

1-download cwm from here-http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3753441&d=1463479932
2-open odin in pc
3-connect you phone to pc (see odin device added msg)
4-click pda
5-select cwm from where you have downloaded
6-untick auto reboot in odin
7-click start
8-wait for odin said reset
9-done dissconnect your phone from pc
10- remove battery and re-insert it
11-press volume up key+home key+power button together
your phone will be boot in clockworkmod recovery!!!!!
