Hello everyone! This is my first post (i am a total newbie) and I wanted to ask about flashing miui in my already rooted SE Neo V. You see I followed the instructions on the unlockr website and how to root my phone which I succeeded in doing and then headed over here to try the new miui rom. Problem is that the phone got stuck at boot, I unbricked it after a little research and now have restored it back to a rooted version of vanilla ics. Anyway I was looking through the page of the miui rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1553585) and I noticed that it says something about the .587 kernel. I currently have kernel .562 flashed on my phone. Could that be why I got a bootloop and bricked my phone while trying to install miui or was the problem the fact that I didnt format the /system partition prior to the installing of the miui rom? If so, the link that is provided in the miui thread about the 587 kernel downloads a boot.img which i dont know how to flash. How could I do that? And is it really necessary?
Thanks in advance for all the help!

So I bought Nexus S from second hand recently mostly because it will get official ICS support from Google.
So because it's second hand buy, I really don't know if I'm using original bootloader, kernel, radio etc.
It's rooted (because I have Superuser app), I think it has stock 2.3.6 android (build number GRK39F) and kernel version 2.6.35.7-gf5f63ef, [email protected]#1.
Can someone who use stock android and original kernels confrime to me that this is right version?
I really want to update to ICS using incremental update which I found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445635) but I'm affraid to don't screw something because of bad experience when I radio bricked my desire
Can I update it to ICS or I need to do unroot or something?
Just download the correct stock ICS rom for your device (if it is I9020T or I9023) ,put it on the SD root and then flash it using the stock or CWM recovery and be done with it (if you need the ICS)
most likely you won't be update by OTA because you are rooted (system file verification will fail)
just download stock ICS ROM and flash it ...
Ota will install fine if its a stock rom with just root. The update script basically checks that everything that should be there is there . If there is something else in there like su it don't matter.
flashing a new rom is the best way to go if you have cwm installed already
I succesfuly flashed ICS and first impressions are very good.
But I think I lost recovery...

flash a CWM recovery via adb , or there is TWRP recovery in DEV section , which is very good .
Since my AT&T ICS 4.04(final update) Atrix 2 won't pass beyond the M logo (have been flashed like ten times), I need someones help.
I can't downgrade to GB because would brick the phone forever or upgrade to a newer version. Or flash a custom ROM because the phone is not rooted and doesn't have any custom recovery tool installed.
So, I was thinking, maybe if I could flash an already rooted system and a custom recovery using RSDLite, could boot into the custom recovery, install a custom ROM and see if I can fix my phone.
Or maybe flash(RSDLite) a backup(or only the files need for this purpose) made by any user of the forum.
Is that possible? Please help.

It would be better to ask all the questions in one thread itself, rather than making new ones each time for a newer question.
RSDLite can't flash files which aren't signed by Motorola, hence no pre-rooted or custom recovery installed ROM can be flashed this way, since they won't have Motorola signatures.
Hey guys, I've seen this issue before yet I've tried everything in a few threads now but have no idea what is happening,I have tried using search function yet no solution has fixed my problem.
Problem:
When installing custom ROMs the installation goes fine. I put the ROM on the sdcard, follow instructions for flashing e.g wipe data/cache etc and then flash GAPPS. However I get stuck on the boot logo of every ROM. I've tried both TWRP and CWM recoveries, both with no luck. Also tried not flashing GAPPS and just trying to flash the ROM to no avail.
Current state of phone:
The phone is currently running stock firmware via downloading factory image and flashing in boot-loader : stock boot, recovery, system image etc
The phone works fine when rooted on stock firmware. E.g no custom rom yet rooted.
Could really do with some help guys, any ideas?

same problem simple solution another user informed me of.
simply donwgrade to 4.3 JB stock rom through fastboot. Then you are able to flash a custm rom from the 4.3 stock rom.
Its crazy i have to do this but it worked for me, now im running the xperience rom which is a rom based on 4.4.2 kk.
the 4.3 android stock firmwares are linked somewhere in the FAQ's as well as the guide to ffastboot lash it.

Hey man, worked a charm thanks!
For users who may have the same problem:
After flashing 4.3 onto the device it did NOT boot.
- However I then went into the bootloader flashed custom recovery, I used cwm.
- Then I went into recovery, used adb to push the rom and gapps onto sdcard
- Full wipe and then installed rom. Then installed gapps
Working fine.
Cheers chairsz :good::good:
Hey guys, I Know this phone is old but please help me
I was using official 2.3.5 ROM and it was getting old so I thought to root and install an ICS Rom so i rooted and installed MIUi ICS ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2029969) it was really nice and i thought to install Aurora Rom(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1492957) and it was Awsome! so i got into installing new ROMs and i was installing new ROMs almost every week and one day i saw CM 11 KitKat ROM for Huawei U8800 and I wanted to install it but before that i had to install Ble-Part Partition (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2615712) i flashed it succesfully and i installed the 2.2 version after that i flashed CWM 6.0.4.6 and i installed KitKat CM11 without any problems!
After some time using it for some time i thought to go back to Aurora as CM 11 was a little buggy and Aurora was the most stable ROM but as i was installing Aurora, i accidently formatted Boot instead of formatting System and without realizing it i flashe Aurora which flashed very quickly rather unexpectedely, and when i rebooted a blue screen appeared. I (surprised) installed official 2.3.5 ROM via dload and when it had installed the phone went into bootloop and i performed a factory data reset and it booted normally. But when i rebooted the phone again again it went to bootloop again. So i installed official 2.2 ROM and it installed succesfully and it never bootlooped in 2.2 ROM. But i wanted to install Aurora but it needs a .35 kernel and whenever i install 2.3.5 it keeps on bootlooping and i cant root it, though i can root 2.2 ROM easily and install .32 ROMs but they are quite old and I want to install ICS, JellyBean or KitKat Rom, which unfortunately i cant
Just in case you would be wondering i have tried many methods to go back to stock partition and none of them works and i have 1.8 GB storage! I have read that distorted partition can cause bootloops on 2.3.5 ROM so if anyone can help me to fix this problem, ill be very grateful as this is a very important phone to me!
And if you have any questions please ask!
Hey guyz,
I have an issue with flashing cyanogen mod rom. I hav cwm recovery.Flashed zip.
But after flashing zip and rebooting system a white screen fades,I found fix also for that.
Just placing stock boot.img from backup but after doing that also i have a problem.
The mobile boots,samsung.com logo comes out, then gts7500 comes for 5-10sec and the
mobile reboots.Endless loop.i have done flashing it many times, did wipe data/cache and
dalvik cache but still no difference.
But one thing i observed that i am able to flash roms which have same android version ie.
2.3.6 but im unable to upgrade to higher version like 4.2 or 4.4
Tried flashing even slimbean and speedmod rom but same problem.I have an indian firmware.
Current OS is inspiration rom v_18 by kk9999gada..
So guyz anyone have an idea to get out of this bootloop? I badly want to use cyanogenmod
and upgrade its version
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. You are probably going to have to start all over and flash the stock firmware in Odin. Also, the version of cwm may have to updated to flash newer roms. But the best place to get help is in your device's specific forum here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-ace-plus They are the experts on your device.
