No Official JB Update for Verizon S3 Coming! Woah, that was close! - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

So Samsung offically announced the US devices getting JB and while reading the article is says it is coming to the Galaxy S3 on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and US Cellular. I was like WHAAAAAAAAT!
Then when you scroll down to the chart, is has the Verzion S3 JB update also listed as coming soon. Man, a typo like that can give someone a heart attack.

"coming soon" could mean 2013.

"Coming soon" gets put through the Verizon Wireless translator and becomes "coming way later."

I bet verizon will be the last to update to jb. By then key lime will be out. Rumor has it, it may be announced this november with a few new nexus devices. The cycle just never ends.

It's hard to be patient for newer better operating systems. But I'm loving cleanrom 2.5 and the Google now mod I found here on xda. This phone runs well on pics so I'm hoping jb by Xmas.

Yep. Apparently the ota is coming later as in 2013. Thanks Verizon. Love you cyanogen

Does it really matter? It'll look just like ICS with the same fugly touchwiz all over it. Maybe it'll scroll a little smoother. The only other important addition (google now) we can add already.
JB is such a tiny update I don't see what everyone is getting so worked up about.

Then nine days later on the 20th they release the GS III. lol

Sorry, I said Skyrocket but meant Hercules.
More importantly after the kies release of it, how long till the drop of the source code!! Samsung is usually awesome with dropping it quickly but are they going to wait for the OTA to begin rolling out before they do...I hope not
Source code = overclocked kernels, correct?
T989 owner here.
First and foremost: bwahahaha!
Ok seriously, most of our ROMs come from the Skyrocket, and I'm sure we will have source material for you guys to work with. I would immediately make you guys an updated ROM base but lack a Skyrocket to test with (also lacking an AT&T SIM since my prior AT&T device is currently laying in the middle of the Red River). I figured AT&T would have announced your ICS date by now because the leak is three+ months old now. However, you guys will have new stuff to play with soon.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but...you can't manually check for an update on this one. Sprint said that it will be pushed to your device when it's your turn. Which means...expect it some time later this week if you haven't gotten it already.

That's what we're waiting for. Without a doubt, there are people out there that have JB for their NS4Gs, but they wouldn't have any clue how to upload a zip, or wouldn't care for that matter. For them it's just a routine update, to iron out a bug or two. How many end users do you think even know what project butter is??? Probably just us.
Just make sure that if you get that update, to take your Logcat so someone on here can get the file from the URL.

And throttling, taking good old plans away, "droid" crap, Update's that brake flash player on 4.0 NOT 4.1 and modding the phone so that it asks for wifi 24/7/365/the rest of time.
I was really pissed at them before and now getting better some what. I hope that I can drop my AT&T line some time, but that's less likely now becuase I get very good "4G" or H+ (3-4 out of 4 bars every were there) at were I work with 5Mbs+ DL vs 1-3 bars of verizon "3G" as slow as sprint like 500kbs slow.( That's with both my razr and now my S3 by the way)
Any way flash player better still work or I will likely be going to WP8 for some of flash player to work. ( never did think that was going to happen. LOL)

Actually it is easier to develop from AOSP. It is also easy to port from the same phone but different carriers. The difficulty comes from porting from one device to another.
