I am noticing an issue with a screen flicker in some applications with a line drawing across the screen for a split second. It occurs most when using rdp apps but just saw it happen while typing this post. it's about 3/4 of the way up the screen when in landscape. Usually a black line that disappears quickly, like a graphics corruption issue. Already did a factory reset, saw the same thing on another tf700... anyone else?

Same thing for me after update to JB. Copilot and Cool reader.
You're not crazy, saw this happen while using the Nook app as well. I hope ASUS is aware of this bug
I've been noticing this issue in Tapatalk the most - probably because it's most noticeable on a white background...
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
same here.... mostly with apps that are being resized because they are not fully for tablets
I am seeing this more and more, and not just with resized apps. Just had it with the gallery.... i have seen this with 3 infinity tabs so far and they were all bought at different times. I can only describe it as a graphics driver issue, anyone else seeing this?

Same for me too unfortunately. I can't even play Horn, GTA3, Black Ops Zombies, or any graphic intense game. It really sucks! Horn worked just fine until the last OTA I accepted. Still on ICS, havent taken the JB update as I'm gonna unlock bootloader and get nvflash going first. Hoping I can cure the issue with a custom Rom *crossing fingers*

You got black ops zombies working...? how???

Looks amazing and plays really well on the transformer. Grab it free on amazon for today
I tried it and it worked fine until the battle actually started and it was just a black screen with the HUD.
On the android market it says its not compatible with the transformer, I'm also getting crashes
To fix the black screen issue, just pinch to zoom in then out. I had the same problem initially. After that, the game works fine (and is crazy addictive).

Works like a champ! The devs really do need to fix this and the text issues to make it tablet compatible - playing on a phone is just... meh...

the text on the map selection screen is all messed up too
............
Good deal. Love this app! I missed this alot when I switched over from my iPhone way back when. Glad to see that's its on android now!

It installs and launches fine but the texts are all messed up. No text at all just some random symbols.
New update fixes tablet issues.

I'm not seeing any update today? (1.02 came out yesterday and didn't seem to fix any of my tablet issues).

What issues? The update fixed the black screen and text problem - were there other things that didn't work?

I've done a search and I can't seem to find this issue anywhere.
I've got a new Transformer Infinity and every now and then a line appears on the screen and then disappears. This line appears to be about 1 pixel wide.
I didn't notice it at first, but ever since I got the Jellybean update, I'm seeing it quite often.
any idea what this is? Can it be fixed? And should I be concerned?
So I wasn't seeing things when it loaded the html viewer just now... I thought it was just my imagination, but if you're seeing them too...
Never had then before JB. Maybe a graphic bug? Some overlay we're normally not seeing?

I'm not seeing a line, but the screen definitely flickers as it is fading to dark when it's going to sleep. Never did this before JB.
Glad to see it's not just me.
I'm don't remember seeing it on ICS, I'm hoping this can be fixed without needing to return it.
Not sure if the same thing, but Prime forum after JB I remember people were talking about screen tearing. I am pretty sure this is something to do with new screen refreshing method used in Jellybean.
The flickering mine always did on power saving, even in ICS...
Where's the Vsync option when you need one... Oi, Nvidia!
Same issue here ever since JB, in any speed setting.

mpeteiro warm
Same issue, particularly annoying on repligo pdf reader.
It's definitively not screen tearing, some group of lines are just missing on random frame
I have the same issue on my tablet noticed it as soon as i got the update to JB

Yup, I noticed the same thing. It does not seem to happen all that much, but still is annoying...

I am having the same issue, for me it seems to occur a lot more with Smart Backlight Adjuster disabled.

I have the random lines too.
There's a thick line that appears at times only when web browsing.
The thick line appears from edge to edge.
The thinner lines don't go edge to edge.
Weird...
I noticed my TF700 is suffering from contrast degradation after prolonged use. I could be using the browser and then the screen seems to kinda whiten up a bit more then usual. It's still readable but noticeable. Wondering if anyone else is noticing this and if it has been noticed does it get worst because mine is happening more often now.

Turned off Auto Brightness?
Turned off Battery Saving? Not the speed toggle, the one in settings that turns on when battery gets low. This has an auto-contrast.
So that settings / power savings / first selection battery saver. Thanks I will post results.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk HD
I'm still getting the weird contrast.

It sounds like the effects of the Asus "Smart Backlight Adjuster". Go to "Settings->Asus Customized Settings->Enable Smart Backlight Adjuster" and uncheck that option - I think that will solve your issue... This is completely different (and separate from) the auto-brightness setting.

Thanks I will try it when I get home. Kinda driving me nuts. Instead of the solid black letters I get light grey letters. Harder to read. Just started happening maybe 2 weeks ago.

It starts up fine then after a while when it gets warm everything gets lighter. More noticeable when browsing the web.

Hmm, that actually sounds a little more serious that just the setting that I talked about a few posts back... Almost sounds like a hardware issue.
Let us know what you find out - a picture would also help. In fact, if you take a screenshot with the TF700 and post the picture and the picture looks fine, then it would definitely be a hardware problem (the screenshot would capture what is supposed to be displayed - if it's a hardware problem, the screenshot would look normal to everyone else, but would still look bad to you, if that makes any sense)...
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
I have the same problem, noticed yesterday for the first time. It looks as if contrast is lower and brightness higher than normal.
I am still within my 30 day best buy return period, should I consider returning it? I have unlocked it, would best buy care?

Yeah that's what Im experiencing. I have a square trade warranty but I'm curious to see how they will remedy this. They would have to use it for a bit till it warms up.

Cool - glad that if fixed it for you guys. Personally, I don't know what Asus was thinking with that one! It's utterly horrible! At least they finally provided a setting for it (previously, you had to be rooted and type some commands @ the Android command-prompt to disable it)!
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
Do I keep my tf700t since this is my second and has those flickering black lines for a few seconds. Or try another one? Not sure if this is software or hardware issue. I'm getting mixed answers. I don't want to give it up for one with more problems. This thing runs flawless otherwise.

Darn really having issues with quotes.
Well I had flickering issues with wild blood the game I'm playing but never had issues with the tablet itself after it happened.
Are you running stock of a custom rom?

Just got it 2 days ago. Still stock for now. But I heard it was an issue with jelly bean. Did not happen with ICS. Going to unlock and root and re flash back to see. I've heard it fixes it.

Out of nowhere today, I started having problems with my screen. When I press the left middle of the screen, it shows me pressing 2 inches above that. My keyboard in that area, is non responsive, and when I'm in apps and trying to navigate, it gets all haywire on me.
Is their a way to get it calibrated? To stop the intermittent failure of my screen in certain areas.?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk HD
Is this happening with power connected or without?
Saw a neat clip once of the screen's different feedback between connected and not. When was connected to power, user showed how his touch input resulted in erroneous touch all over the place.
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda app-developers app
At first I thought it was during connection. But now it happens intermittently with other without power. When I called Asus. They said it's the "Digitizer" I'm under warranty, but If theirs a fix we can do on our own, I'm all for it.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk HD
Unfortunately, it probably is hardware-not software related. Get a RMA and send it in....
If you want to narrow it down some more, you could enable"show touches" in Developer Options.
But I doubt that it would help...

That's exactly what I did, to know that when I touch one spot on the screen, it showed the actual touch, two inches above where I was actually pressing. What's maddening is, it doesn't happen all the time. Just different times throughout the day.

Hopefully forum will let me post this link (still a new born here).
This is the video I saw, though I now see it is for the prime, but anyways take a look at the symptoms he had, and try and find that app he loaded, maybe can help you narrow problem down...

It does sound like a hardware issue with the digitizer. Sending it in might be the only way to know for sure and to fix it. It is under warranty, so you won't be charged anything. Try doing a full factory reset first before sending it, though. There could be small chance that it fixes it that way.
