Cold boot issues, please help. - Asus Transformer TF700

After i just did my first cold boot i have some wierd issues. I dont know if cold boot is the source of this, but it's the only thing i can think of, it happened right after.
First thing i noticed was that gallery stopped working, and this happens every time i start it. Then i notice PlayStore tries to update apps but stops at the "downloading" part.
Rebooting doesnt help, so i tried another cold boot with no luck.
Any suggestions?

Hmm downloading a new app doesnt work either, just stops at the "downloading" part again, so its not just when updating apps. Seems like my tablet doesnt like recieving data from the play store anymore.
Anyone?

Try clearing the cache and data for the playstore app. Then temporily disable autoupdate in the playstore. I think its overwhelming the tablet.
Try updating a few at a time. Do the Chrome update by itself, doesn't seem to like other updates going at the same time.

I solved the problem. It wasn't the cold boot that caused this, it seems disabling ALL the preinstalled apps from asus is not a good idea. Once i reenabled them, the problems with gallery and playstore were fixed.
Doh Feel stupid much? Yep

G-Tab went crazy

After been using it daily for a while without any problem when I turned on today I got hundreds of FCs. So I reboot in recovery I ran the Fix permissions and after normal reboot the majority of the icon are not working anymore. So I went to the check the market and was gone. After fixing the market I can't see any of my applications in the download section.
Any suggestion??
You could try flashing your rom without wiping data. As far as the downloaded apps go this seems to be a common problem without a very good solution. Sometimes you can download something else and it will repopulate your my apps.

The FC's happen to me sometimes (do not know why) and sometimes after fixing permissions, the apps do not show up in the market, but appear after a few hours or more (a day perhaps).
I usually get the FC's after a spontaneous reboot when the device chokes on an apps. Does not seem to be any specific app, so maybe more an issue of the device and not the app. Does not happen a lot, but does happen.

Sense Keeps Force Closing

Just today I was checking my email when Sense force closed on me. After that, it force closed on me every few minutes or so. I cleared data and it just force closed on me again. Not sure why all of a sudden this started happening. I havent installed any apps since yesterday. This morning it wasnt doing it, just all of a sudden started doing it. Anyone else experiencing this? My next step would be to do a master reset but really dont feel like setting my phone up again since we dont have root and cant do titanium backups
Have you tried uninstalling the last app or two that you installed? I also assume that you tried restarting the device too?

Mine does this too. I noticed that it happens more often when it's hot where your at. I work outside and get lot of force closes but at soon as I get home where its cool I don't get any Force closes. I guess heat isn't good on the sensation.
I get it a lot too. Even with the 2nd phone. The first one was just Force close GALORE. The 2nd phone Force close a lot to. I hate it also tried a factory reset fine for about 24 hours them back to the same thing. Sense also loads way to often,

Hangouts push notifications not working

Hello,
My Hangouts push notifications stopped working along with some other push notifications. The problem seems to have started a couple of days ago after I reset the Google Services Framework trying to trigger the OTA update for 5.0
This is really frustrating, and I seem to be unable to fix the problem with resetting Hangouts, resetting Services Framework, setting notification check on and off again.
Please advise. Thank you!
I've done exactly the same thing with the same result on my 2014 Moto X :crying:
Any ideas how to fix without factory reset?

Well, I must report that I manager to solve the issue. I've done all these things before, but not in this sequence, and the fix did not seem to to work until I did this:
Go to settings -> apps -> Hangouts -> clear cache, data, uninstall updates -> then restart the phone -> let itself update and it worked for me.
The reason that happened in the first place is that you cleared data for Google Services Framework. This has absolutely nothing to do with triggering the OTA. Those are the facts given to the world directly from a Google engineer.
http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/1r1n5z/
http://www.talkandroid.com/185088-g...houldnt-clear-google-services-framework-data/
"Morris talked a little about the OTA update process, and why it might take a while for some users to get it. Essentially the update starts on 1% of devices over 24-48 hours. It then moves up towards 100% over a week or so. Updates are essentially done in batches, so pressing the “Check for Updates” button over and over really isn’t going to affect when you get that update much."
Next time be patient or just flash factory images or update.zip. Every time you try to fix it again by clearing GSF you're basically breaking it again.
tl;dr, stop clearing Google services framework, that's what is breaking your push notifications.
Thanks, I understand that much. But in prior versions, clearing GSF would trigger OTA update with 100% success, nor would it mess up push notifications from apps either, so I thought why not try lol. Looks like Google has removed this workaround this time...
I have same problem with hangs push notifications after update to Lollipop. They cannot be delivered at all. I cannot see history chat in real-time messages arrived. History updates after scroll down only.
Above sulutioon cannot be done. Hangs app hasn:t uninstall state button, it hs only on-off states.

S7 causing multiple issues (Slowdown, stuttering, auto closing)

Hey,
Yesterday started noticing issues for my S7, which I've had since launch. Have not rooted it or flashed anything to it, but noticed issues yesterday and still occurring now after trying a few things.
Issues include:
-Opening a folder/pressing multi task button, it will probably auto close in a few seconds.
-Kingdom hearts game is now stutters every few secs, music and video.
-Keyboard vibration isn't quite keeping up to button presses.
-General slowness, drag an icon to uninstall it, doesn't direct to the home screen. Even if it did and you dragged it to uninstall, it didn't on one occasion.
-Playing a video on the Youtube app will eventually cause the video to stop/pause every few seconds
I tried clearing system cache, turning off/on, restarting, using smart manager to clear app caches. None of these have seemingly fixed the issues.
Any suggestions would be welcome and greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I think it is related to latest oculus update. try deleting this app if you have it.
Try to factory reset your phone, but if that doesn't help then I would suggest taking it to the repair shop.

Very good point, I did notice that update yesterday, I'll have to try it later when I get the chance, surprised it can mess with the phone despite not being in VR mode though... Thanks for the suggestion!
As for factory reseting, I'd like that to be the last thing to try, as 1. It's gonna be a pain to restore everything back, and 2. I have my bus ticket on my phone using an app, and I think I may lose it if I do this...

It's because the app is stuck in an install loop, the update never completes
Oculus Rooms is the culprit, kill it until they fix it
No factory reset necessary. Install Package Disabler Pro, disable the following:
- All bloatware (via menu option)
- Facebook App Manager
- Facebook App Installer
- Oculus Home
Reboot, wait 5 minutes, and see how Kingdom Hearts is doing at that point.
Hey guys, recently my phone is acting really weird... Whenever i install a new app from play store, when i try to open it, the app crashes.
If i uninstall it and reinstall from the play store it works just fine.
Any ideas about what could be the issue?

Try clearing play store cache, if it still does it, boot to recovery and clear caches from there
Great

Just to update, I uninstalled all Oculus related stuff and it's all fine again. Thanks a lot!
Only problem will be when I want to use Gear VR again, I presume it will all be installed again, though at this point I don't use it regularly really, so I can leave it for a while.

Just a quick update
When i did that it worked that day. Now i installed a new app and the craching app issue is back :/
I'll try to clear android cache from TWRP and see what happens
So it worked for one app (the one i tried after clearing the cache). Opened the app and no crashing. Later this week i installed a new app and same problem, so i booted to recovery and cleared cache from there. Installed a new app (google weather i think) and the app crashed... Any other thoughts on that subject?

Installs taking long time

Recently, as I install an app, I'm finding it to take a long time...several minutes.
I just selected Truecaller from the Play Store to install. It's a small app. It moved from the downloading stage to installing, maybe 5 minutes before I started this thread, and is still in installing mode now. Another interesting thing, it does NOT show it installing in the notifications bar.
I've had this happen with other apps as well.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Try clearing cache and data of the play store, in Settings - Apps. Sometimes it just 'hangs'. Canceling and Install again can fix it too.
