[Q] Samsung i727r NEED ROOT BROKEN USB - General Questions and Answers

I have a Samsung galaxy sII i727r (rogers) with a broken usb. It charges but thats all the usb will do. I need root to change the modem to allow for WIND. The phone is unlocked and I have tried everything and it would appear that I definitely have a cold solder point or blown usb.. i changed the actual usb port within the phone with no success. I am running GINGERBREAD 2.3.5 and need root just to get out of this since i have NO USB. don't bother posting about drivers. I'm not that simple and obviously checked all that 100 million times!!! If someone knows of a .apk to root that works on the s2 2.3.5 or some other way to root PLEASE HELP HERE... once rooted I can fix the modem with blaze and get wind... (DONE ON OTHER i727r) oh and ROGERS BITES!!

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S Recovery - Please help!

Hi guys,
I am new to the forum and in need of considerable help.
I have a Tmobile Galaxy S 4g (not the SII). I had previously upgrade the phone to gingerbread 2.3.6, but last night I was trying to root it again to do a lag fix.
Unfortunately, I think I used the wrong root file - I used something for Galaxy S GT-19000. Now, whenever I try to start the phone it just switches back and forth from the Tmobile Galaxy S screen to the Galaxy S GT-19000.
I used ODIN to root it, and now I desperately need to return it to factory settings. Can anyone help?
I tried looking for original factory firmware, but I can only find it for the Galaxy SII. Would that even work?
Thanks - I would appreciate any help I can get!

[Q] usb debugging connected not showing up in notification bar on samsung infuse 4g

Hello. I am trying to root my Samsung Infuse 4g. I found a root and unlock script on this website but it never works and i have usb debugging checked but it doesnt show up in the notification bar on my phone, Can anyone help?
Have you installed the official Samsung USB drivers? http://d-h.st/sKF
Are you currently running Gingerbread (2.3.6)? If so, I'm fairly sure that the one-click root/unlock script won't work for you. Since my Infuse had a factory install of 2.3.6, I had to root with Heimdall, and then use a hex editor to find the unlock code.

Root S6 with broken USB port

Hello, I have Samsung Galaxy S6 and because we wont get any more updates I want to fix my battery life by rooting. Its on 7.0 but my USB port is not working, im charging it with wireless pad. I want to root and install TWRP but I didnt find a way to do It without PC or ODIN. Should I stay on unrooted stock or Is there any way around it? Thanks!
You can't root without a working USB port.
You can try Kingoroot apk or something like that
I am in the same situation. I had 2 galaxy S6 with broken USB ports and bad batteries. I broke the screen when trying to replace the USB port on one and just swapped the battery out with a New supposedly OEM battery. The capacity of the replacement is garbage and I would like to root to tune it to make maximal use of the minimal capacity. Can anyone confirm if they were able to Root without USB via kingoroot or any other method? The build I am on ends in DQK1, not sure if I should apply the update available or keep it and hope for an exploit to root.
