I usually just uncheck screenorientation and then use snote in "landscape" i find snote better cos it has other cool features. I have physics course at school now and I honestly have no idea on the math part cos its been 2 years since my last physics course. Luckily I just bought my note 10.1 and I do all my homework (when I do) with it and when im on a lesson im the first one to finish our tasks cos i use snote my teacher asked me how i suddenly can do it so fast and i told her that im just so freaking good. I'd like to see her face when shes checking my exam which I obviously have to do without my note.. that's a little off topic but I find it to be a very good example on how good our device actually is

Okie guy, Note 10.1 is useful for study, however, i think Snote should have much more improved.
In my job, i have a lot of meeting and i often use mindmap to take notes. So i'm looking forward a useful application to do that.

Yeah it could be much better I agree hope they develop snote more cos it has a lot more potential than it actually shows right now. Maybe the most important feature for me is splitscreen which sadly doesnt work on other applications..

Did anyone come to any further conclusions. I've had a look around the play store, and the main options I can see that remain even remotely affordable are:
- mindmeister
- simplemind
- iMindMapHD (more pricey)
- connected mind
- snote with shapes enabled (I find these hard to edit)
But none claim any form of stylus support
Any feedback on which are the most usable for quick editing, navigation, use of handwriting (to name a node, or add notes to a node) and especially any comments on whether or not the spen helps

Hi,
I try iMindmapHD, however it doesn't support spen. Now, i usually use Qill App to draw and take notes. This application supports to draw lines and shapes too. I can try.
Have fun.

Mindjet
I've been using the Mindjet program in windows version for years. I've tried many Android apps, but I went back to Mindjet because
1. It works the way I do.
2. You can customize the look a great deal.
3. You can standardize node to make it easier to recognize later.
4. The files are compatible with the Windows version.
Your mileage may vary.

Interesting idea, but the app is £5.50, has no comments & minimal description -- though the pictures look nice
Any app at that price needs either a demo period and/or restricted free version so that the user can see if it's suitable
http://elevenworks.com/touchdraw-features/ gives some info (though android isn't listed on their website), though again it's unclear how usable the s-pen might be, or the app generally.
I've sent them some questions at https://twitter.com/touchdraw

It'll help, but not make it free. He stated the cost of TouchDraw is £5. On the market here in Canada the cost of the app is $13.50.
With that said, how do I get this $5 USD voucher?

Does anyone know if there is any new drawing - painting apps coming?

I Have just used s-Note and sketchbook Pro. I find s-Note to be more smooth and precise in detail work especially pressure sensitivity. I wish there was an app that had the stability of S-Note with the features of Sketchbook Pro.

You could try Infinite Painter for Galaxy Note. It's more like an Artrage for Android. There is a free version that is specifically for the Galaxy Note phone, but it may work with the larger Note. The developer is very responsive so if it doesn't work just send him a message to get it worked out.
You might also try Adobe PS Touch and Adobe Ideas. I also like Papyrus Beta for sketching on my Note phone.
Those are a couple options that will likely work with the s-pen.

Thanks for the suggesting Painter and Papyrus , I'll check those out. Unfortunately Adobe doesn't cut it in tablet apps which is a shame.
I would install Ubuntu on it with MyPaint... I hope it will be posibble (with dual-boot) in the future.

Agreed the adobe stuff sucks. It also requires a $50 per month subscription to get real files out. It's atrocious.

if i can direct you to the following: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...MsImNvbS56cHdlYnNpdGVzLmxpbnV4b25hbmRyb2lkIl0.

Hi everyone, I want to buy this tablet very soon ~ any way, I'm interested in a feature that will determine whether to buy it or not

Can I download a PDF books (about 1000 paper) and use s-pen to add notes and highlight things, then leave and go back and find all data I add there.
Repeat the question but put PowerPoint instead of PDF, thank you.

For pdf, you can achieve this with ezpdf amongst others. For PowerPoint, you probably will have to convert to pdf before annotating.
But both can definitely be done.

The best thing for me as student is the s note app. I take the pen and note just like a pepper book. It is amaizing. It is like u have just one book and everything u need is in there when u study for exams I love it for my use

Here's what I use. Not a student anymore but wish I had this when I was.
Dropsync - Setup a dropbox account and buy and SD card and then use Dropsync to do a FULL sync of Dropbox to your tablet for your notes/PDF books, etc. Dropsync will also automatically upload any updated files.
ezPDF - Annotate PDF files.
Polaris - Annote office files. I have other office apps, but this is the best for annotating documents.
S-notes- I use S-notes how I would use scrap paper, short documents, small notes, ideas, brainstorming etc.
LectureNotes - This is what I use as a notebook - better note taking capabilities. If you set it to a dropsync folder it will also sync your files into Dropbox and you can view them as a PNG file if you look in that folder. Dev also mentioned they may be willing to add an automatic export to Evernote feature which would make this a killer handwritten note app.
Total app costs I think are <$10 and will be the best money you spend. Everyone will be jealous. Whenever I'm at a conference and sit next to someone with an iPad they want to know how I'm doing what I do on my tablet!

well im a also student, so here is my experience.
I primarily use repligoPDF to view my pdf (usually in ppt format which i then converted into pdf thru polaris office). so instead of printing out my slides then attend class to annotate, i can simply download and annotate there on my tablet.
As for regular note taking, i use LectureNote for general class note taking. This app is THE BEST for this tablet and waaaaay better then s note. You can choose different colors to write in and the pages scroll down instead of flipping like s note (which is so much easy to view). Not to mention there is also auto scrolling in which once you to write to a certain area on the bottom of the screen, the app automatically scrolls down for you. Dont have to flip a page anymore.
After all that, you can also download Dropbox and dropbox sync (which i recently discover) and EASILY sync your notes to dropbox and view it from ANYWHERE.
dropbox sync(paid version since free version only allow upload up to 5mb per doc) basically allows you to create 2 folders, one on your tablet and one on your dropbox, and the whenever there are changes made it automatically updates/uploads the changes to the cloud storage. That way, all your notes will be backup and assessable anywhere for additional reading or if you want to print it out (despite having a tablet and going green on printing out note for note taking, i still find using print-out version for studying for exams is more natural)
I havent play around with using word or excel, but from my previous TF700(with keyboard) experience, andriod arent really made for word or excel at the moment. you certainly can open up docs and excel files to edit, but i can assure you that it feels weird. You will prolly have better luck using a comp for that anyways since tablets are really ment for on-the-go-access(mostly viewing) without the bulkiness of a laptop and doesnt really replace a laptop.
Hope this helps!

one advantage ive noticed with google keep over evernote so far after a few mins is the integration it has with google now just press the google now button and say "note to self..." and say something that you want to remember for later" it stores in the app.
this app for now has def replaced my evernote and any.do will see how well it lasts over time, I took all my notes and such from evernote already imported into google keep thanks to the website, and will test google keeps check boxes to fully replace any.do which is a cool app for a shopping list or honey do's that me and my wife used alot, hoping it goes well and will replace evernote and any.do from my daily usage.
and jujuburi you are correct seems u were the first one to post it if time stamps are accurate.

Not seeing that in the play store even when searching from play.google.com - could you provide a link if it is in the play store? When I tried it as "dropmind" nothing and as "drop mind" it comes up with SimpleMind which has a free and paid version.
DropMind doesn't have an android app. You can connect to their service for free with the browser. Not a good option if you have a wi-fi only tablet like me.

how good are tablets for ebook reading?

Hi,
I was wondering how good is the ebook reading experience on a tablet.I was wondering if anyone could share their experiences as I have never owned a tablet. Will they eliminate the need to buy hardcopy of books?if I`m gonna use it for reading around 3 hours how will it hold... do eyes strain more ?
Currently Nexus 7 is the table that I`m looking to buy I will mostly be using the tab at home but is the extra cash for the sim version worth it?
I also read a great many issues regarding the Nexus 7 is it a safe tablet to buy how is support of Asus in inida?
Please do share your thoughts..
