Dear xda devs,
I used to be able to connect my phone normally to my PC (adb, storage mount, etc). But now suddenly when I connect my Sensation to my laptop, it doesn't detect it as a device. It only charges the phone but gives no option of storage mount or debugging.
Any idea which driver might go wrong and where can I obtain the correct one?
check htc drivers or install htcsync.it might help

I was having a similar problem. Do you perhaps have Droid Explorer installed on your pc, or some similar app that auto connects via usb to your device. If so, uninstall. I was able to run the tool after uninstalling - just used the Charge usb connection (not HTC Sync) and ran the tool as Administrator. All worked fine for me.
Well, I had this issue as well.
So I uninstalled all HTC Sync, HTC Drivers and HTC bmp Drivers, and reinstalled the driver provided by Revolutionnary. Then I plugged it my phone with USB debugging on, set it to charge, and launched revolutionnary again as an admin. That's when it worked !

Hi,
If you have HTC Sync, uninstall it and then install the latest version.
If you don't have HTC sync, then install it.

enable usb debugging mode from settings
are you using stock rom ? what version of windows (im assuming your using windows) are you using ? open device manager, and see if there are any changes while connecting phone to usb
Have you overwritten for your phone by CM? Or do you use the clean stock software?
HTC sync uses Sence only. So any other software causes to sync absence. The choice to switch on for external drive is performed from system screen (swipe down the highest screen row with notification icons) to tap on USB connection.
When you would like to sync for data with PC you can use for MyPhoneExplorer program (client for phone and PC together).

Can you verify that the drivers aren't the issue? If you don't know how:
-Right click on My Computer
-Click Properties
-In the upper left corner i think should be Device Manager option
-Check is your HTC recognized or not ( is your device listed in Device manager )
if it is and you still have issues then it's not the driver related,
else you will notice a device connected with a yellow triangle with black exclamation point
This is in my experience most likely the problem, if it isn't driver related it's probably something exotic and highly specific in which case i'm unable to help you

Hello all.
I reboot to bootloader, in fastboot mode. The intention is to update radio from img.
Problem - though shows that USB is connected, windows does not detect the device.
Not detect = no android device at all. Anyone else had this?

Firstly this is in the wrong forum and should not go here.
Secondly have you installed the drivers for your phone by installing HTC Sync first and then have you set up adb and fastboot properly?
Sorry for the wrong forum.
Drivers are there with all the needed IDs, the problem really is no device detected - that is, the device menu doesn't even refresh when connected in fastboot.

No need to install HTC sync. The drivers can be found here:

Make sure you have the SDK installed as well

I never install htc sync. I have the right drivers, and in fact they can be enabled for any device with just adding the right IDs though this is not the issue. The device is not detected.

No-one else ever experienced this? Well nice to be unique then, for my Desire S anyway.
why won't u try htc sync
Solved myself. Apparently fault of the cable or usb port. Adb worked but not fastboot. Switched cable, all ok.

Uninstall the phone driver and re install the one provided in the aahk zip with phone not attached. Make sure USB cable is plugged into a port that goes directly to board, no USB hubs. And plug phone in. Then try again. Also may want to try a different cable and be sure it supports data.

Well... google knows almost everything
... But.. ."not connecting" isnt really much info to go on. Try to explain a bit better what happens and whats not.
It keeps flashing the 'USB Debugging Connected' than sometimes the pop up comes up on phone to allow 'Charge Mode/Disk Drive' but not always and my computer (Win7) tries to install the driver, it just keeps saying not connected when open HTC Sync and yes have tried all USB ports and uninstalled drivers also under 'Device Manager' there are no exclamation marks anywhere

Ya I wish I didn't game or I wouldn't even be using it. And I think he said he only got one the pc to try on but would be nice if a friend helped out to see if it his pc or the phone.
Wow, I have the same problem, except I'm running Ubuntu on my PC.

Worst part is that I'm making an app. I can't do this if it keeps disconnecting every half second!
I'm having a similar issue although I'm running Mac. Im running stock HTC rom and have just installed the update. When I plug the USB cable in I no longer get any connection options. HTC Sync can see my phone but I can't access the phone storage from my Mac anymore....Am I completely missing something or is anyone else having similar issues?

You did not read my OP right cuz I said all that in it so next please also I have 'Googled' everything and tried everything they say so any other thoughts, just want to get connected so I can flash ROMs once rooted?
Anyone, please any ideas other than those posted and please read before posting something I've already done?
Thanks
Well, its hard to go further... Try a different cable and a different PC. If it doesnt work with that either its your phone thats fuked up, if it works its your PC.
When you know which is the culprit we can move forward and try to solve it.

Agreed need another pc to test with.
Go to recovery on phone and it should then be recognized by pc...preferably use twrp for recovery. From there you can even mount usb to move Roms to you sd.

Not rooted yet because of this issue so I found one thing that might work and will try later when home and that is what I found on Google after days of searching, restart the computer whole phone is shutdown and than turn on phone as computer boots up and see if it will than recognize the phone (crossing fingers)

Boot into bootloader and see if it's recognized by your computer. If it does then it's a Rom issue and you can factory reset from bootloader... (volume down + power) while phone is turned off
