Well... google knows almost everything
... But.. ."not connecting" isnt really much info to go on. Try to explain a bit better what happens and whats not.
It keeps flashing the 'USB Debugging Connected' than sometimes the pop up comes up on phone to allow 'Charge Mode/Disk Drive' but not always and my computer (Win7) tries to install the driver, it just keeps saying not connected when open HTC Sync and yes have tried all USB ports and uninstalled drivers also under 'Device Manager' there are no exclamation marks anywhere

Ya I wish I didn't game or I wouldn't even be using it. And I think he said he only got one the pc to try on but would be nice if a friend helped out to see if it his pc or the phone.

Worst part is that I'm making an app. I can't do this if it keeps disconnecting every half second!
I'm having a similar issue although I'm running Mac. Im running stock HTC rom and have just installed the update. When I plug the USB cable in I no longer get any connection options. HTC Sync can see my phone but I can't access the phone storage from my Mac anymore....Am I completely missing something or is anyone else having similar issues?

You did not read my OP right cuz I said all that in it so next please also I have 'Googled' everything and tried everything they say so any other thoughts, just want to get connected so I can flash ROMs once rooted?
Anyone, please any ideas other than those posted and please read before posting something I've already done?
Thanks
Well, its hard to go further... Try a different cable and a different PC. If it doesnt work with that either its your phone thats fuked up, if it works its your PC.
When you know which is the culprit we can move forward and try to solve it.

Go to recovery on phone and it should then be recognized by pc...preferably use twrp for recovery. From there you can even mount usb to move Roms to you sd.

Not rooted yet because of this issue so I found one thing that might work and will try later when home and that is what I found on Google after days of searching, restart the computer whole phone is shutdown and than turn on phone as computer boots up and see if it will than recognize the phone (crossing fingers)

Boot into bootloader and see if it's recognized by your computer. If it does then it's a Rom issue and you can factory reset from bootloader... (volume down + power) while phone is turned off

This is a hard question, any help will be appreciated. I have a phone that is pretty much bricked for good, either i will get a replacement phone, get it sent to a special guy to get it fixed (yay!), or just get the skyrocket. What i need, however, is to pull the files off of the phone from the whole sdcard pretty much. I know adb can be used, i just need the commands to do so. Remmember, download mode is really the only mode that it will go into.
Edit: Here is the video of the movie i just posted on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHLUYckTlug (last i checked it is processing, may be bad quality) post ?s here please!
If all you want is the files from the sdcard just take the card out and put it in your computer.

Ryan,
If you want to use odin, un-install or stop your anti virus program
or boot windows in safemode with networking
then try odin gtg unbrick again.
I had more luck with heimdall. @ 4.00 minute in your vid, you did not show your phone in the video or if it was connected
I don't know if you are putting your phone in DL or not. (phone not pluggged in, off, pull battery; press vol buttons connect usb, battery in)
If you had it in DL mode with the android/triangle shoveling
when you go to heimdall options and list device it should show.
FOR SOME REASON, usb port or cable or wrong mode, your pc is not seeing your phone in DL mode.
If you can put your phone in DL mode, IT IS NOT BRICKED.
with all the drivers etc install and such, the process may have corrupted your Windows ability to see your phone -( if it was in DL mode)

I will try using using another computer altogether. Ive got friends who have a computer they will let me use. If it wont work, then i know there is something on the phone end. Ive tried 3 different cables to no avail. I would do the driver thing but idk how to really do it lol. Having kaspersy block odin may just be the problem thanks for that. Ill investigate when im home.
Make sure you have the correct drivers. To make sure
1: download mode. MAKE SURE YOUR IN DOWNLOAD MODE!!! cant stress this enough.
2: Connect your phone, windows should make a sound.
3. open your start menu and type device manager. It should come up. Select it then scroll down to usb and expand it. Find the samsung one and right click and find thw option that says to update it. In doing so windows will tell you if your drivers are correct.

I recently obtained a Charge stuck in download mode, thinking it would be an easy fix... guess not!
The phone seems to be working fine (minus being stuck in download mode) and it should be an easy restore through Odin or the Samsung programming tool, but I can't my computer to recognize the phone. I've tried multiple ports and multiple cables (all of which worked when flashing other Samsungs—Galaxy S phones) and nothing seems to be working. No driver installs on Windows and if I boot into OS X on my Mac, Heimdall doesn't detect a download mode device.
Is there something obvious I'm doing wrong here or could it be the phone itself?
Have you tried installing the windows drivers for the charge from samsungs website
Edit: Attached the windows drivers for the charge as samsung took them down

The phone doesn't boot at all. Any attempts to get it into recovery or to boot normally just make it turn on in download mode again. I haven't been able to try PC based methods as it's still not being recognized.
I actually opened up the phone, grabbed a multimeter, and tested out the USB port. Surprisingly, it seems to be good, so that doesn't seem to be the problem with getting the computer and phone to talk.
Any more ideas?
When you plug it into your computer, go to start (assuming you have Win 7) and type "device manager". Does anything even pop up when you plug it in?

Either that or you may have a broken charging port also. That could be a broken charging port on your phone. Not always is a usb cable fault. guys, ive been messing around now for about 5 hrs trying to get this thing going and no luck. i know there has to be a way. this is a list of things that ive tried and any other suggestions would be very helpful.
*tried a different usb cord
*used usbdeview to delete anything android/samsung related
*tried another laptopkn
*tried another sgs4g (which one click will say connected but then if i try my phone it wont)
*deleted all known drivers samsung/android related
im going to the store now to see if i can get a brand new usb cord and see if that helps. other than that fellas im clueless as to why i wouldnt be able to get one click to see my device. its almost as if the device doesnt know what it is. but sometimes by chance when i plug it in to my computer it will try to install and if i have one click open it will say connected and the drivers are being detected and then when the drivers fail it becomes disconnected.
Anyone have anything else i can try???
Install Heimdall.
Plug in phone, while it's on download screen.
Launch zadig.exe from the Heimdall\Drivers folder.
Options->List all devices.
Choose the Samsung one... I'm away from my computer so I can't give you the exact name, but I think it's Samsung Composite Device.
Change the driver to libusb0.
Install/replace driver.
Restart computer.
Log into computer.
Restart phone.
Flash successfully.
I remember seeing somewhere that once on mtd the phone responds to the Google drivers. You can install those from the android sdk. Don't know if that would help, but worth a shot if you don't have those drivers installed.

Well I've tried everything to get Odin and Heimdall to see my phone and NOTHING will work. I used the .apk to get root access and put the modded bootloader on the phone to flash it. That all worked fine but I flashed a new rom with an incompatible bootloader so now I can not read anything on it and it will only bootloop the samsung logo.
I've tried every driver I can find and multiple USB cords. My Galaxy Mega will connect to Odin without any issues at all (So I assume it's not the USB cord or USB slots on the PC), however NOTHING will allow this darn Infuse to show up.
I am using Windows 8 on a Lenovo PC (if that matters). Does anyone have any suggestions that might be able to get me to be detected by Odin so I can take it back to stock and start fresh? Really getting annoyed with this phone's unwillingness to cooperate with my PC.
Thanks in advance for any/all suggestions.
So, I guess nobody has any suggestions on what I can do?

I've already tried that. It would not show up on that computer either. A buddy is gonna bring over a laptop in the next few days so I can try it on that one, but since it has already failed to be recognized on two PC's, I imagine it will also fail on the third.

If you are able to get your phone into DL mode, it sounds like it is still salvageable.
The idea is to get a device recognition with a PC.
If you have already remove and re-install the original samsung drivers, tried different PCs, different USB ports and different USB data cords - then it could the the usb port on the device that is not working correctly.
You can try gently forcing the port in different directions etc..or just take the risk and replace the port yourself or sending to a repair shop.
USB replacement runs about $35 to $50. Mobiletechvideo's currently charges $35

If you are able to get your phone into DL mode, it sounds like it is still salvageable.

your problem is simple : uninstall all the drivers and Kies. Then reboot and reinstall Kies. now you can connect your phone with odin. It's because in some way, you got your drivers corrupted or changed and they are not able to be used with odin. It happens to me so many times that i cannot count them
So good luck with this issue but im pretty sure you will get rid of this problem with this procedure
Have a nice day !
