[Q] Fearful of "Confirm Phone Model" - Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G

Hey guys , names Carocrazy132 I'm native to a host of other forums so feel free to flame if I make noob mistakes, I deserve it :highfive:
Anyways, yesterday I got my new Galaxy S Blaze 4G (on 2.3.6) via T-Mobile contract and some $ and I love it. Today, I rooted it and installed CWM via Odin 3 v1.85, however, I didn't use CWM on my last phone (Motorola Droid X2) so I don't really understand how ROM Manager (v5.0.2.1) works and I'm scared away from clicking like i normally would by the following message: "Confirm Phone Model". It lists the Galaxy S i9000 and T-Mobile Galaxy S2, but certainly no Galaxy S Blaze 4G. I followed several links to the CWM ROM Manager section (which I can't post the link to) where I still found no Galaxy S Blaze 4G.
Are most features of ROM Manager not working, is there another phone compatible with it, does it not matter, or is there another way?

ROM manager does NOT support our phone. DON'T click anything. UNINSTALL ROM MANAGER!! Manually get to CWM, although, ROM Manager can take you there.

Yea if you are using Rom manager to boot into recovery/download mode I suggest using Quick Boot. It works on GB and ICS roms and is very simple.

Phone Model

I got one question but not sure if this is the right one.
Phone is rooted and installed Rom Manager. Once I clicked Rom Manager, it asks me 'confirm phone model'. I don't see samsung infuse on the list but only
Galaxy S Fascinate , Vibrant, Captvate, Galaxy S4G, Si9000. Which one I should use?

Doesn't matter, only one dev ever released ROMs via ROM Manager, and he pulled those releases because ROM Manager caused too many problems:
1) Green CWM would mis-flash too often
2) Those who did successfully flash would come to the dev thread without reading the first post of the dev thread. Manual downloads force people to at least read part of the first post.

[Q] Flashing a kernel compatible with CWM

Hi, I am new here!
I have rooted my SAMSUNG GALAXY ACE with SOC and just downloaded ROM MANAGER, to start exploring new roms... however, turns out that for Samsung users we need a kernel compatible for Rom Manager. I need to do this to be able to Flash CWM recovery; as when I click that option, it does not come up with my phone model.
Anyway. The Dev says I need to flash a CWM compatible kernel... How do I go about doing this!? I have downloaded an app called SGS Kernel Flasher, but I assume I need to download a kernel before I can use this?!
I have searched round for an answer, I have found many forums in the Galaxy Ace with this particular issue but there apears not to be an answer...
Please help!
arghhh i knew it! nobody knows! samsung you suck I want my HTC back

** FAQ and useful info ** Do NOT use "Rom Manager" with these devices

Unless and until it is listed as a supported device, ROM Manager will not work properly on the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, 7.7, or any other device.
How many different "tab plus" models are there? At the time of typing this answer, the following models exist: GT-P6210 (wifi only), GT-P6200 (international, 3g), GT-P6200L (region specific 3d - not sure which region), GT-P6200N (region specific 3G - Germany), SGH-T869 (USA/TMobile 3G (no voice))
ICS? Samsung has promised it, but not given a precise timeframe. Here's a thread to discuss: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1446601
Having issues writing to your SDCard? There's a workaround. See this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20869996&postcount=7. If you are lazy, you might also consider this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1458021

Want to root your device? Scan through the development subforum - there are several threads for different models that offer different approaches. The least invasive and one that seems to work for the most devices is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1367249
CWM Recovery? Click your model: GT-P6210, GT-P6200 or SGH-T869
Wifi connections to Ad-Hoc networks? It doesn't currently work... Here's a thread discussing it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1429026
How do I remove CWM Recovery from my device? You need a factory image. See the "factory image" question above.
How do "unroot" my device? It's extremely easy to mess things up when doing it, so I'll be somewhat vague hoping that only those with the ability to understand my directions will attempt it: You need to get rid of /system/bin/su (which requires su and remounts to do) and then to uninstall SuperUser. If you don't know how to do this, you will probably be better off restoring a factory image. See the "factory image" question above.
Are there any ROMs for this tablet? No; a "ROM" is a Read Only Memory and all the memory on this device can be written to. In addition, in order to change ROMs (if any existed on this device) you'd need to crack open the case, desolder at least one microchip, and solder in a replacement. As all the chips are surface mount, you'd need extremely expensive equipment (and some serious soldering skills) to do this.
Are there any custom firmware packages for this device? Ah, that's a much better question. At the time of me typing this question/answer, the selection is extremely limited, and mostly just de-odex'd and re-themed packages. Please check the development subforum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1429) and themes subforum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1430) for an up to date list. Be careful to only use firmware/themes made for your device model...
"Supercharger" script? I'd avoid anything that modifies kernel parameters. This script disables a function within the kernel that will attempt to recover your device if a bug is encountered. If this script is installed as posted as of this writing, and your kernel encounters such a bug, you'll get "sleep of death" type symptoms. The author of that script has been informed of this, and may take steps to resolve that issue.
I didn't bother to read instructions and flashed a kernel that doesn't match my firmware - now my ethernet doesn't work, I'm stuck in a boot loop, etc. Please help? No, I won't. I spend a considerable amount of time writing instructions, notices and this FAQ. I find it extremely insulting that some people ignore all that effort on my part and blindly install kernels that are CLEARLY marked to not work with firmware versions. Read the "factory image" question above, go back to stock and stay that way until you learn to read.
Take care
Gary
As I understand it, there are:
GT-6200 GALAXY TAB 7 PLUS INFRARED + WIFI + 3G
GT-6210 GALAXY TAB 7 PLUS INFRARED + WIFI
GT-6200 GALAXY TAB 7 PLUS WIFI + 3G (crippled)
GT-6210 GALAXY TAB 7 PLUS WIFI (crippled)
GT-6201 GALAXY TAB 7 PLUS WIFI + 3G N (crippled, German)
GT-6211 GALAXY TAB 7 PLUS WIFI N (crippled, German)
The only difference is in the cover, to satisfy Apple that it is not an Ipad.
GT-6200L GALAXY TAB 7 PLUS WIFI + 3G (crippled, South American 3G)
SGH-T869 T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus 4G (no voice)
No, it is not 4G, they just call it 4G.
hi
may i ask are you working on anything new for the tab plus or know of anyone working on anything now as their is very very very little going on for us right now and its rather disappointing.
im asking you as you seem like an intelligent know it all haha

wrong thread.
OK, let's pretend for a second that I didn't see this thread before I already read through the Dev section....
Right now trying to boot into recovery doesn't work, but I still have root access. Should I just flash back to factory and start over?
Oh, Samsung p6210: Rooted, factory ROM.
what do you mean by booting into recovery doesnt work? have you comprimised your recovery parition? try just holding power and vol + ,let it try to boot twice, continue to hold, you should get in assuming you have a working recovery. If not download quick boot from market, free and works great.
What is your issue exactly? have you tried to use ROM Manager?
In the worst case you may have overwritten a parition with an incorrect one, in which case you would need a stock ROM with a .pit file.
When I boot into recovery from Clockwork it (of course) gives me an android icon with a yellow triangle/exclamation. When I try to manually go into recovery, it says something about "installing unknown software is bad for you" and I have the option of installing (which starts "downloading" but does nothing), or restarting the tablet. Since I can't get into manual recovery I can't install the CWM file from the Dev thread...
I'm thinking the only option I have now is to do a "restore to factory."
that is download mode you are going into, maybe you have vol+ and vol - confused. vol + is the closest to the power button. If this is the button you held then it sounds like you may have overwritten your recovery mode with another download mode??
ANyways I would try flashing Garyd9's CWM recovery.zip in the development thread, and use quick boot or terminal and type reboot recovery. Let us know how you make out.
Works perfectly on gp6210
Did the CWM/root and the SD card patch this morning after reading the forum posts. Worked great, no surprises. Thanks greatly. You've done a nice job, Gary, looking forward to your latest projects.
Just as an update, I got everything sorted. I reflashed recovery from the SD card and uninstalled ROM manager, seems to be working just fine now!
seems as Riff Box can resurrect dead GT-P6200's. Keep in mind, I dont think most users would ever need this.
more here.. http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f634/p6200-mobo-does-not-maths-1453685/
basically an unbrickable mod.. if you have a box. they are fairly expensive.
it got him back into download mode, but couldnt boot after Odin, Im guessing its becuase he needs to factory reset.

[Q] Cannot use Clockworkrecovery Mod

So last night I decided to root my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II and used this thread as a guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024207. All worked fine in the end, no problems. So today I decide I want CM10. So in the guide to install CM10 I am instructed to use CWM to do the actual installing part. Well, I have used ROM Manager and a plethora of alternative methods. Not a single of them work. Every time I try to boot into CWM I get this menu titled: Android system recovery <3e>, not the CWM one. Even the actual ROM Manager app says I have CWM installed properly. I would appreciate any help.
Also note this is my first Android device I've ever owned, and am a total noob to the entire rooting community.
I guess CWM cannot be upraded by ROM manager, try other method mentioned in your device forum to uprage it really.
keep tryin'

Dang. I've tried pretty much everything. One of the update methods says to put it into download mode to update via Odin. Every time I try to do that it takes me to that Android system recovery menu I talked about.

[Completed] [Q] Galaxy S3 - Not booting into CWM after install

Hey guys, I'm having a pretty annoying issue with my Galaxy S3 (Verizon variant), and even though I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is, and that I screwed myself, I wanna know if there's another answer to what's going on.
As the title of this thing says, I tried installing Clockworkmod Recovery on my GS3, but I did it via the ROM Manager app, since I'd totally forgotten how to do it on my computer, and Odin 3.09 wouldn't use the .tar or .img files I tried using to install the damn thing (still haven't figured that out).
Anyway, I flashed the CWM file on the phone, installed it, and whenever I try booting into recovery, it says some unauthorized software is on the phone, and I need to take it to a Verizon store.
I'm pretty sure Verizon locked us out of our bootloader, and we need to unlock it before we can make mods like this, but, being that I haven't had a GS3 for two years, I didn't know that, and didn't look it up, like a n00b.
So, I think I just partially bricked my phone. So, yeah. That sucks.
Is there any way around this? Is there a way to revert back to the stock recovery mode, so I can try doing this whole thing again?
Some phone info:
It's the Verizon, I535 variant
Running 4.4.2, Kitkat
Build number: KOT49H.I535VRUDNE1
Any help would be appreciated.
