I was wondering if someone could help me help with a data sleep issue?
Using 4ext I did a full wipe of the dalvik cache, battery and factory/data and installed Fallout v5.0 fresh. The phone is running like a dream, but my data speeds when connected via 3G or H are very slow.
I'm on the GiffGaff (O2) network and had this issue since flashing an ICS custom ROM.
Using speedtest.net's app I did a test while on H with 5 bars of signal and the results were:
Down: 220kbps
Up: 716kbps
Installing setdnd and changing the DNS to OpenDNS changed my speeds to:
Down: 1488kbps / 2410kbps
Up: 716kbps / 877kbps
But it still much slower then I remember.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? Having to run a problem like setdns works but seems a sloppy work around, I wondering what else it could be?
I posted in the Fallout mod thread a few times but got ignore each time (And I'm not kidding), but after doing some reading this appears to be a universal issue on more then just the ROM I''m using.
I have the same problem but not by flashing Fallout but flashing 20.76.30.0835U_3831.19.00.110 ICS firmware and radio from WWE RUU coming from this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30875781&postcount=1

I rooted my Wildfire a while ago..and then i installed some font...which messed my stock rom
receving no technical support over email or service centre, i manually flashed cm7
...
all goinig well but there is no 3g connection at all...the phone keeps on rebooting when i turn on 3g....and 2g is incredibly slow!!!!!!!!!!
I hvnt s off 'ed my wf but hv rooted it successfully..I'd like to know if s off is needed for radio flash...pl help me

Hello, i solved this issue.. I was on the radio 3.35.20.10 which is the newest. I flashed the latest rc1 cm7.2. Yes (3g and H) mobile network works flawlessly.. changing a few type of internet build prop values of cm7.2 will lead to rebooting when turning on mobile data
I won't be of any help but I have the same problem: I can't remember when I have noticed it the first time - my Wildfire keeps on rebooting if I switch to 3G.
Initially I thought that one of the different modes (2g/3g only, 2g or 3g etc.) would cause the problem but I have tried everything without any success.
If I find the time I'll probably try a newer nightly to see if this will help.
AFAIK I'm on the newest radio (flashed it a while back due to the well known radio problem).
Anyone with a helpful hint?

Hm, I'm not sure about your solution - could you be a bit more specific? I've already done a lot of things to get rid of the problem - including flashing newer versions of CM7 - currently I'm on the 20120420 nightly. Release date for the newest RC1 is 20120314 if I'm correct - so it looks that this didn't solve my problem.
Furthermore I flashed the radio again (inspired by this thread) - without any help regarding the bootloops. I'm really close to do an RUU update - but I usually rely on good old traditional computer wisdom: "never change a running system" XD
If someone with a bit more understanding of the changes in build.prop could give hints what (which values) exactly could be the reason for the problem this would be really helpful.
Hi, all.
So I unlocked my HTC Status, installed CWM, and installed SuperDroid rom.
Everything worked OK, but now it's stuck in EU format. Now, instead of E for edge or 3G for 3G, it says R for roam (along with a popup about being in roaming), an H for...home? and occasionally shows an E which I'm guessing is edge. No 3G displays.
While everything else works, what worries me is the constant switch into roaming. I'd like to reinstall the stock ROM, but all the stock ROMs I find are for euro / asian versions.
Has anyone in the US with the Status experienced the same problems, and maybe has any ideas I can try? Or does anyone have a stock ROM I can boot back into?

All the roms I have found all use the Asia or EU base roms. I reverted back to the updated stock rom.

Ever since I got ARHD on latest .24 its been running super fast with minimal problems. One problem I am having is the internet disconnecting randomly and having to turn wifi on and off for reconnect. Also when it is connected it is incredibly slow and other devices on my network are having no problems. How do I fix?
Also I updated to the latest ARHD last night and having more problems than ever so that did not fix.
Try latest guevor kernel, it will fix it.
And do I just flash it after flashing ROM?
Flash the ROM, let it reboot normally, then go back into CWM wipe cache and flash Guevor's. It changes wifi protocol to Veno from Reno whitch helps alot.
I'm still having problems with wifi. Speedtest app is saying I'm getting like 5mbps down yet webpages are taking up to 15 seconds to load and when I look at the wifi bar on the bottom the arrows that indicate data usage sometimes just disappear and the page stops loading for 10 seconds. Same thing for youtube videos. It is taking forever to buffer even on non HD quality. All the other devices on my network are having no issues and everything loads snappily.
Kernel maybe?
You may be having problems with an incompatible kernel[if you did flash an alternate one] or it may just be a bad flash.
Either way, try re-flashing the ROM
The thing is ive had the same problem on other roms and I have tried reflashing.
Edit: I am using the test series of kernels and its the one that is compatible with Megatron. Any other ROM suggestions? The stock Megatron one?
Did you clean or dirty flash? You need to wipe Everything..

Try using the superwipe script from the ARHD thread, then flash Guevor version 17c on a Non-AOSP Rom (Revolver or ARHD) See if that'll do it.
And if I titanium backed up all apps and data is that good enough? Also if I do a backup in cwm can I restore to my same state I'm in?
Also if I run super wipe script will I not have to wipe caches and stuff?
Yes you can, personally I'd just backup the apks.
Wipe caches anyway never can be too safe.
And the wifi is still not fixed

When I click on a link you wait a while until anything happens and any data is exchanged. And my sd still won't mount in CWM

I already RMA'd this thing once because it did a never awakening SOD before I was rooted. I'm trying to figure out how to flash stock ROM/kernel to see if problems persist while keeping root.
They may or may not X.x It all depends on which demons are currently inhabiting your TF.
Try the latest Harmony kernel, that might fix wifi.

I did some "scientific research". I loaded squarespace.com on my tablet and it took 27 seconds. Loaded same page on laptop and it took 5 seconds. I waited for it to be fully loaded. If I do speedtest.net on my tablet I get the same speeds as on my computer but the only difference is a huge lag time before any loading happens and then while its loading it pauses multiple times. If I have had this on every single kernel/ROM combo I have tried is it safe to call this hardware?
I've Installed this yesterday, but I'm experiencing a couple of bugs.
I first did a format (disk + dalvic),
then flashed Codename Android v3.3.2
then Camera + Backlit Fix
and then Codename Android GAPPS
Because I have a S-on device, I flashbooted the boot.img from the CA Gapps zip. (other zips didn't have that file)
Everything works very smoothly, but the errors/bugs I encounter are:
4. When I insert my SIM-card, I'm always Roaming, untill I enable WIFI, then I can make phonecalls.
So when WIFI signal is lost, I'm at Roaming and mobile-internet doesn't work.
Does other people have these issues, or is it because of a wrong Boot.img I flashed?

Since I don't want to post this in the dev section anymore, I'll continue here.
This problem first started with Codename Android.
When I install an other ROM; for example Blindbean, the problem stays.
Then I tried MIUI from Shrome, same problem.
(always with format disk and clean dalvik cache)
This night I installed the ICE-DS v4.4 ROM, and everything works fine again.
But when I install Blindbean again, problem is back.
You guys have any idea how this is possible.
Boot.img isn't suppose to be in gapps. Should be inside the rom itself.
When flashing a new rom always do a full wipe.

Ok, so I did again couple of hours of googling and stuff, and found some interesting stuff.
In our country, we have 3 mobile networks with their own towers. (proximus, mobistar, base)
But 2 of them rent these towers to other carriers. (mobistar for example to Telenet)
It appears Jellybean (I have it on every JB rom) sees a difference between the carrier and the tower-network. (If you get my point)
So I have to enable Roaming to be able to use my carriers network.
So far I can see, no additional costs.
But this still is a strange bug, that started with JB.
I'm using a stock rooted galaxy s2 I have tried Cyanogen (stable and nightlys). As well as dragonics (which contains a new kernal and modem). ObviouSly I wiped and cleared data and caches as well as dalvik. Still no wifi or radio signal to even make a call or use 3g. I updated prl, user profile and anything else it would let me but the only running rom that has radio is the rooted stock I'm using. At this point I am at a loss and just put some themes on to at least make it look like I accomplished something.
I have searched forums and found people with wifi problems after installation but nothing about it all not working
Anyone have any ideas?
(also fairly new to this so if I'm posting or not searching properly I apologize)
