I'm using a stock rooted galaxy s2 I have tried Cyanogen (stable and nightlys). As well as dragonics (which contains a new kernal and modem). ObviouSly I wiped and cleared data and caches as well as dalvik. Still no wifi or radio signal to even make a call or use 3g. I updated prl, user profile and anything else it would let me but the only running rom that has radio is the rooted stock I'm using. At this point I am at a loss and just put some themes on to at least make it look like I accomplished something.
I have searched forums and found people with wifi problems after installation but nothing about it all not working
Anyone have any ideas?
(also fairly new to this so if I'm posting or not searching properly I apologize)

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing wifi problems after updating from 2.2 to 2.3. I lost my wifi after switching to the CM7 nightlies awhile ago and i thought it was just the rom, but I've used RoyalGinger, RoyalMint, and RoyalGlacier. I followed the instructions exactly, but when i turn wifi on, it just says error. This is also the case for the wifi hotspot. Any help would be much appreciated
Try flashing, booting and letting it load without trying to turn on wifi. Then after a few minutes reboot and let it load again then try turning on your wifi. Let us know if that helps you.

Try flashing faux123's custom kernel.

I tried both methods posted above, and still no go. I've been using faux's kernel since RoyalGinger came out but it hasn't fixed my wifi. I'm currently using the latest RoyalGlacier with the latest faux sense kernel.
Well **** buddy, I dunno what else to suggest. You have tried various kernels, and multiple ROMs all to no avail.
I know our devices are notorious for weak wifi, but never heard of it being completely broken. I would nandroid restore to the stock ROM and kernel and see if it's still broken. If so, then have HTC or T-Mo switch it out for you.
are you using anything like titanium backup to restore settings? read some where that restoring like can break wifi. other then that and making sure you fully wiped everything thats all i can think of.
I've also tried a few different kernels like gorilla's and smartass stock. Also, I'm not backing up with titanian backup. Could it be my ext partition?

Been lurking for months here and finally got the guts to try myself at installing a new ROM.
I have an LG G2X with Videotron here in Quebec Canada, we are stuck on Froyo and it will never get upgraded. :/
I rooted it without issues!
I also flashed CWM 5.0.2.8
I have backed up my stock ROM to SD Card.
I have installed the following ROM's with issues.
aokp_p999_build-37
won't boot, stays at LG logo
BionixReloaded_v1.4.1_FINAL
It runs. No 4G, Wifi connects and disconnects in a loop.
update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-p999-signed
Does not boot, stays at CM screen
update-cm-7.1.0-G2x-signed
It runs. No 4G, Wifi connects and disconnects in a loop.
Bionix2-TheLegacyContinues-RC1 with Bionix2-RC1-Patch
It runs. No 4G, Wifi connects and disconnects in a loop. I had 4G work in this ROM for a bit then it stopped.
Steps I have done from CWM
Wipe phone
Wipe Cache
Wipe Davik cache (or something like that!)
Formated System
Installed ROM from ZIP
reset permissions
I also backed up my APN settings from my stock rom and added into the packaged ROMS and still no go. The APN settings for Videotron were in them already. Phone portion works and SMS also, it does say Videotron when connected with cell antenna..
I know some people on Videotron have done it in the past and the only issues were with PAN settings which seem to have been added in newer ROMs.
I have searched endlessly and now I'm at a point where I can't see straight! lol
Any ideas would really be appreciated.

In most cases I was just installing an update so I'm guessing that the ROM was partially running as I had not installed the base ROM and then the updates. But some of the full ROM's listed would not get passed the splash screens...
Now I have EaglesBlood™ Ice Cream Sandwich [AOSP 4.0.4] and it's running with minimal issues!
My Wifi and 4G are running without issues!
I've had a few EBLauncher crashes that required a battery pull...
The Voicemail notification does not work with this ROM for me...
EDIT: GMail does not Sync, I need to deactivate and reactivate Sync for it to work for 1 time only... Have to do this everytime I wan't to know if I have emails...
So far, no other issues. I will try to search for the issues I am experiencing now and see what I can fine. Could not find anything on the voicemail notification issue.
hey im new to the forum and i rooted my s3 and have the r420 senergy rom installed but the wifi dooesnt work! uhhhhh i cant post in the development section till i have 10 posts. so any one who can help that would be great. ive been doing a lot of reading and what is the differnce between nightly and and regular roms? and i read that the wifi wont work on the nightly rom with out a kernel flash?>?>? Is this right? im going to try the v1.6 senergy any way .....my model is the i535 but yall probably already know that because you hacked my ip address and seen my phone plugged in J/K ha thanks in advance
First off, Synergy r433 is the latest version. And a new release is scheduled to drop any minute now.
A nightly is an experimental build that gets updated nightly. Whereas a stable build is less frequent but as the name suggests is stable. Nightly you must really know what you're doing and are be okay with occasional bugs, otherwise use the stable releases. (fyi SynergyROM stopped releasing nightlies)
As for your Wifi problem, reflash but the make sure you do a full factory reset, and then a super wipe within the AROMA installer. *This will wipe internal storage, make sure to have the ROM zip on external storage* Wifi is not bugged, I'm suggesting the was a flashing error.

Thank you so much for replying. i was thinking the same about the nightly "name" but thanks for clarifying. i have tried several times. in clockworkmod recovery(or whatever the name is) i factory reset and in the installer i wipe everything. (on the internal sd) and then install cleanly. but my kernel doesnt flashed it says its not unlocked.?!?! how do i unock it? i unlocked the bootloader and once more so i knew for sure. and my phone says custom with a padlock unlocked symbol below. but same thing everytime...wifi is buggy. i like this rom and just want it to work...thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!! is there a special "better" kernel unlock method? my paitients are getting low...lol well my girl wants her phone stock ...F**CK THATT!!!!!!!!!! thanks man

I am experiencing the same issue.
I rooted, flashed CWO, and then installed synergy. Nothing worked... then I read that you need to unlock the bootrom so I did that, rebooted and got the same... no wifi. After unlocking the bootloader I reinstalled synergy (R484) and still WiFi will not turn on.
I followed they synergy thread for flashing and This thread for bootloader unlocks.
Provider: Verizon
Phone: GS3
ROM: SynergyROM (r484)
Recovery: ClockworkOrange
Got it fixed!
So... I only used odin... no romloader apps or any of that crap...
1: Reinstalled stock ROM
2: Reinstalled CWO
3: Reinstalled Root+Bootloader
4: Reinstalled SynergyROM
5: Enjoy! Wifi works, all applications work!

Fairly new to alot of this...please forgive me. I have scoured forums and cannot find an answer to my problem. I got a new S2 about a month ago and I rooted it no prob. When I tried to install CYM 10 (stable and nightlys) It installed but the wifi and radio are shut off. Found a rooted stock and was using it as it was better than what I had stock on the phone but not being able to do it bothered me. After many posts regarding some of these issues with other phones, I have: Updated my prl and anything else I could update successfully, tried again and same problem. I tried turning on, up, down, and everything else I could do with the settings having no wifi or data and went back to the rooted stock. I flashed a radio update sucessfully and then tried messing with Kernals. Dragonics ROM comes with a new kernal flash among many other things and I tried that, installed sucessfully but still not wifi or radio....I even tried flashing older roms and kernals and still nothing.
As of right now I am back to the rooted stock running stupid themes to make me feel like I did something. I cannot find a direct answer to this regarding my model and that I have not tried. This has become an obsession...I HAVE to make this work. Please Help me.

I have installed 4.2.2 version of LiquidSmooth. But after installing it my network is dropping out within a min of talking. It's so annoying as I missed the most importing function. Talking to others using my phone.

What radio are you using? You should be using UCMC1.

I have a similar issue. I've been running the March 23rd version of AoKp with no problems. However, I recently tried to install the latest version and my phone will not connect to the Rogers network (connects briefly during start up, then drops, this trend repeats infinitely). Even when I do get some bars of connectivity, it never actually registers with the network, so I cannot send/receive calls, sms, etc. All other functions work fine. Also of note; after first reboot after installing ROMs, all the correct APN's are there and it seems to default to Rogers LTE which is good, however never actually connects. Then, after a subsequent reboot, all APN's are missing and I cannot manually add any (when I save them, they don't actually save).
I've tried installing the latest version of CM - same issue
Tried flashing different radios to no avail (running UCMC1 currently)
Luckily I'm always able to restore my backup to that March 23rd version AoKp which still works without issue. My next step is to revert back to stock ROM and either stick with that or try installing a fresh custom following that.
Any idea what the issue is???
I'm seeing the same issue as well on AT&T.
I tried reverting back to the regular Cyanogenmod Rom, but I'm seeing the issue where the radio keeps dropping and connecting back every few seconds.
I'm on baseband UCLI3. Is that the best version to use?
