Im trying to port an aokp ics rom but it bootloops everytime. here is a logcat with the errors but i have no idea what it means......if someone could look into this for me and help me out it would be appreciated!

Yes from sensation. But I don't think I replaced any libs. But is there a better device to port from. I tried my4g and got same result except I couldn't get a logcat it kept repeating over and over.

i am getting no where with this......
ok i got this to boot!!!! but everything is crashing upon boot. error message: Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped. i replaced the libs from this rom with the ones from wildchild ice and it booted!!!! now to make it work........any guidence would be welcomed!!!:victory:

i wanted to use the new cm 9.1 as base for this rom but i got it working with wildchild ice as base so no keyboard. i will try a few more things to get this to work with cm 9!!!!!
I have just been informed that you cant port aokp onto a cm9 base. can anyone else confirm this?

I can't prove it one way or another but I DO know that WildChildIcE's last "daily" was AOKP but for him to fix the few remaining issues (one of them being the keyboard) he based his last "nightly" off of CM9 code. That's why "ROM Control" works in the daily but force closes in his nightly.
**You ought to give it another shot with his last nightly.**

That sucks. But on the bright side I think I have this porting stuff down. It's pretty easy. Any cm9 based Roms you are interested in seeing on our phone. Until the keyboard is fixed on aokp I won't be trying those.....
Well, why not his last nightly then since you're already familiar with how it's put together? IMHO, you couldn't ask for a more fantastic ICS Rom to fine tune what you've learned on. There are a couple I'm aware of for the EVO 4G Supersonic that are very nice ROMs or would a Sensation Rom be a better suggestion given the hardware?
DUUH...nevermind the first part. LOL

I sensation works haven't tried evo. I'm really noob at this so if something doesn't work I probably won't be able to fix it. But I am up for suggestions and I don't have permission to use anything yet.
And aokp without Rom control might as well be cm9
Yeah, that dawned on me about the same time I typed it. I'll look around a bit & see if I recognize anything that might look good on a DS.

You need to re-sign all the system apks. You probably mix and matched the frameworks & apps of the ROM you want to port. Some ROMs are too picky with signature verification in which all core system apks it has should have a matching signature & date signed.

Also guys I have this ambitious project of porting Sense 4.5 jellybean ROM to our doubleshot
I believe I can do it(75% yes) problem is with resizing the apks to our device resolution. Anybody willing to collaborate with me? I'm really bad with graphics editing plus don't really have the time to edit thousands of xml files & images. But I believe I could port it's kernel to make it work with our devices.
So I'll be starting this project as soon as the kernel sources are released for the devices getting the updates.

It has a lot of Random freezes, can't under clock or it messes up. Kornyones CM7 is far Superior to this Rom. Even if it based of his ROM, the tweaks helped even it out.

So here's the story. I built cm9 for the dream/sapphire using files from various devices, one of which is the hero. So out of boredom I built it for the heroc too. I cannot test it or confirm it works.
Info:
Cm9 code from the middle of may (android 4.0.4)
Device and vendor files from github.com/TeamICS
And... that's it.
It should hopefully boot and mostly work. Not sure about audio working. haven't done anything for the camera

thank you tvall, i hope you saw i gave you credit for the port that i did, ill try this out and let you know
---------- Post added at 08:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:32 PM ----------
from initial testing:
everything works as it should, except for camera (which you already mentioned) and no usb mass storage
with *edit* stagefright and its associated libs from eligorom or the port of cm9 i posted, we should be able to have working video playback
also ill have to retrace my steps as its been a few since i did it but the kernel i included with cm9 and eligorom has minfrees already set at boot, when i remember what i changed ill post it here
im not sure about camera, i think in /lib/hw we need the camera.msm7k.so and probably for good measure the associated libs from eligorom
thank you tvall, you are a god among men
Thank you for testing. We should work together on this (especially since I don't have a hero)
id be proud to work along side you. i have no experience with building from source or even knowing what to do with the source, but i think im pretty resourceful when it comes to tweaking and stuff like that
i did replace the stagefright lib and associated libs from eligorom and software video playback is working with quickpic. i replaced camera stuff and no go on that, but i know there is a way to fix it.
edit: an idea for you if you have the time to look at it (about camera) http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#/c/13317/ and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1624018

I'm not sure what your errors are, but it might be easier to just change the device to armv5-te (I think its -te) instead of armv6j. I know before cm posted sources we could build the aosp with armv5 and a few fixes. Check the TEAMICS_FIXES repo and look under the old fixes you might still need them for AOSP.

The errors are related to selinux, which is weird because I built for the dream with a similar device folder without that error... I'll work on it later.
just figured i'd check in.
havnt had alot of time here lately, but hopefully here soon i will. here are the stagefright libs that allow for software playback of video files. tvall please try these out on your g1, see if it works for you. i use quickpic to play media files in ics, its the lightest player i can find.
attached stagefrightlibs below (not flashable, just a folder, push lib files with adb anybody who wants to try these)
upon looking at your kernel, i think we are going to have to go through both my eligorom kernel and your kernel and match them up, with your rom and my kernel usb mass storage pops up, but unmounts the sdcard instead of working correctly. im looking into it right now, probably a really easy fix. also alot of minfree stuff is absent in your default kernel, so we will have to figure that one out too.
when i get a chance, ill package up my kernel into a flashable zip, but for now its attached as a non flashable one for reference only.
edit: wow i said kernel 6 times lol
I have seen many sense rom ports put out that are on ics, or sense 3.5 and higher, for the shift with none having 4g working. None of these seem to have come from other sprint HTC devices except the og EVO. Is it possible to try using a 3d or 4g LTE rom that has 4g working and port it to the shift or are their files incompatible? Trying to figure this out so we can have 4g on the higher end roms with sense. Thanks
*btw I am sure this has been tried, but you never learn without asking questions*
Sent from my PG06100 using xda app-developers app
I haven't tried sense 3.6 or higher yet because of how much work they are. A couple of people more talented than I have tried and moved on to other projects. We do have some extreemly good sense ROMs with working 4g already. newSENSE, newRUNNY, MikRUNNY, MikShiftedG, Supreem Sense just to mention a few.
From what I've seen, I think most of the problem is that the complexity of the file structures increase as you go higher. It becomes more tedious and difficult to first find all the dependent files, and then to even try to get them to work with each other how they are meant to.
Sent from my PG06100 using xda premium
I have tried all the roms you mentioned Chad, currently running mikshifted g. I tried porting it with a ROM from the 4g LTE but got stuck in a boot loop. Haven't had the chance to try different kernals with it.
Sent from my PG06100 using xda app-developers app
One thing I've been doing is to use the same sense version in my base as the port. 3.0 to 3.0 or 3.5 to 3.5 etc. (these run on gingerbread) I have been consistantly unable to figure out how to port something to the shift we don't already have like 4.0 (that runs on ics). There is a big difference between gingerbread and ics.
Yeah, I know that platypus has a ROM for the shift that is sense 4.0 and ics but only basic stuff works on it and I don't think he is working on it anymore. The guys at evervolv, mainly preludedrew, have a jb ROM with everything working except 4g, but I just prefer sense over aosp stuff.
Sent from my PG06100 using xda app-developers app
I forgot to mention that I also only work on deodexed ROMs. As I learn more I am hopeing to be able to help bring 4.0 to the Shift but the sense ics ROMs I've looked at are all to big. The shift's limited to 512mb of space. My first attempt at a sense 3.6 had the system folder at 588mb. :banghead:

I never thought of the space part of the ROM. I wonder if getting rid of a lot of the standard .apk's that are included within the ROM would help the size of it. Then could just download what apps you feel are needed and move them to the sd card if they are able to be moved, or if somehow can get a2sd working within the ics rom itself.
The problem as I was looking at it was that I don't know what apks need to be in the system folder and what do not. Some are obvious but not all of them are. I put that project on the back burner and will go back to it later.

Man that stinks. Sorry about you computer going bad!
Andromadus - Test Builds
To start with here you will find test versions of ROMs built by me from the Andromadus github repo http://github.com/Andromadus, think of them along the same concept as nightly builds just not every night These are development ROM's, if you want to run bleeding edge development ROM's and at least know how to use adb and logcat then you might find something of interest here. If you require something that works 100% of the time all of the time then this might not be for you. That said you can always give it a try and if it doesn't work restore your previous nandroid backup!
What IS Andromadus?
Initially it was a group of people who got together to make ICS work on the HTC Desire Z because nobody else seemed to want to support devices with physical hardware keyboards/trackpads. Whilst the idea stays the same It has grown slightly to support some other hardware and some of the work we have done is now used in many other devices. Andromadus builds of CM10 or CM10.1 are basically CM sources with a few additional tweaks or additions to support our phones.
1. New versions will be added as and when I feel there are enough changes to warrant one, don’t ask when the next version is coming.
2. If we decide to release a "Stable" version of these roms they will be published in another Andromadus thread.
Direct all your queries with release versions to that thread and in the same vain do not discuss these releases anywhere but here.
3. I will do as best I can to answer questions but if you don't get an answer from me I'm sure somebody else will be along to help. Help each other and I have more time to spend fixing things!
4. Don't ask for what's changed since the previous version, have a look at the recent submits on the Andromadus github if you want to know or wait for the mini changelogs when I post a new release.
5. If there is something in particular to test it'll be mentioned!
6. As always if you didn't wipe between installations then at least verify that the problem exists on a clean install before posting here. Nandroid/superwipe/install/check at the end of the day you can always restore your nandroid if the problem is reproducible on a clean installation. If you can't be bothered to try this then I really can't be bothered to try to help you :>
7. All that said ensure you make a nandroid/backup before hand. I take no responsibility for what you do to your phone with these ROM.
8. Whilst I can't stop you I would rather these builds were not used as a base for any ROM/MOD/ETC. The source is all available if you want to do your own builds with which you can do whatever you like.
9. Tell us what works/what's worse/what's better but don't ***** when something breaks or isn't fixed yet, report it and move on.
10. Sometimes people forget that we do this for fun, for ourselves, and sometimes your super important issue is way down on our personal list of things to be fixed.
If you ignore any of the above you will in turn be ignored.
Now that's all out of the way as always have fun
As usual you need to flash the ROM then GAPPS.

+1 for a fast release!
Thanks flinny!
Just installed this rom over AOSP 4.2 v3 with cache&dalvik wipe.
Lockscreen widgets are now not oversized, that's good.:good:
The bug I have is with the AOSP keyboard, it doesn't show up (black screen instead, see the screenshot) and then FCs. Tried clearing data and cache, but it didn't work.

Flinny already has said in the OP that he will only count as a bug when we have it in clean install. Make nandroid than clean install if it's there than its a bug
still a noob

Kernels!
If you want me to make a flashable zip of any kernel from a rom just ask here and I'll do it
4.3
For Albinoman887's CM10.2
- Original Kernel ---> http://goo.gl/GTMdEH --->Tested and working
- Modded Coderzs .64 Kernel without headset overheat---> http://goo.gl/kVYIg4 ----> Tested and working
For Coderzs Slimbean
- Modded Coderzs .64 Kernel without headset overheat ---> [STRIKE] http://goo.gl/fXAYki [/STRIKE] ---> Not Working, confirmed by tonyMEGAphone
- Modded Coderzs .64 Kernel without headset overheat ---> http://goo.gl/RYR9q9 ----> Tested and booting; wifi not starting (TEST2)
- Modded Coderzs .62 Kernel without headset overheat ---> Link Coming soon ---> Untested
- I'll make an original if I am asked .
HEADSET OVERHEAT FIXED AS OF October 1st
So what now? Now, if you see an older rom and would like it to have a kernel that doesn't overheat and is new, tell me what rom you would like it for. Maybe someone will update it Guess not...
Another one
LAST ONE. Just in case
Go ahead bro...

SamSation Port
This ROM has been ported from the Desire S with permission from KernelDev101. The original rom was called SamSation.
I've got a port that boots up fine; but I still need testers for it. Thanks to Deadman____(sorry forgot the numbers) for letting me know it boots up.
I also think that WiFi doesn't work. If someone could compile kernels or flash different kernels to see which one gets it working that'd be awesome too.

Forgot to mention. Go to the the desire s forum and fond the saga sation rom thread.
It should have this thing called the so launcher. Flash that to get tw home to stop FC.
Also for Wi-Fi I don't think I could really do much all we have to do is Flash new kernels. Also USB mount isn't working?

Sketchy
You know I'm not going to just stop sharking the forums even when I'm content with the bugs in my phone. In the CM10 Jellybean ROM forum I saw you direct someone else here. Lead me into seeing you've made a modified slimbean kernel. I'm going to take it for a spin once my phone charges back to full.
I'll let you know my results, although I am no coder, I surely have been through enough of these 4.3 roms to know my way around. You know~

Aw shiz. Sorry about that. I'll fix it, thats why I have testers yay!
EDIT: Added new version of the kernel. Hopefully it flashes now. Link ---> http://goo.gl/RYR9q9
My Carbon ROM port
I had made a Carbon rom which I ported from the Doubleshot. I didn't formally release it because Coderzs had built one from source so I didn't feel the need since source roms are much better. Nevertheless, I'll put it out in case anyone wants to try it. I know it boots up, I don't remember if wifi works, but I think it does...

My AOKP Port
I ported AOKP from the DHD a really long time ago but never released it because the Wi-Fi didn't start. Yeah sucks eh? But if anyone wants it here it is. It boots up for sure
Its the last version to be compiled for the Desire HD, June 24th I think.

No worries

Phone boots, so far everything is working like normal. I don't always listen to music through the Glacier but I have been for the last hour just to test the heat. I even took the protective cover off so I could feel the actual phone. So far it's a cool as always especially around the battery and the headphone jack itself.
The screen flicker is still alive, which I know you weren't trying to address, but the screen does stay illuminated black the entire time I'm listening to music. Nothing unusual for this phone with any 4.3 JB ROM. If you keep making mod's I'll keep testing them. This weekend I'm going on a motorcycle trip so my internet effing off will be limited. Although next week I'll be all over guinea pig mode.
Is there anything else I should be looking for specifically in this mini-build of yours?

JellyTime For Glacier
JellyTime is a version of Cyanogen 10.1 and 10.2. Its developed by RandomBlame over at the DHD threads so go thank him.
I will release a test version of the rom to confirm wifi is working, then I'll start porting the rom every 2 weeks.
I'll port his 4.2.2(11) then his 4.3 builds.
