I know Flash is not officially supported on JB but how well is it working?
I use flash a lot and it is one of the main reasons I didn't get an ipad. I use flash for video but also on financial sites.
I use it to catch up on TV Shows.
Is this the end of updates for me? Or at least till 99.9% has switched to HTML 5.
For example : myspass.de (German TV) is this playing well on JB?
Thanks!
There is way to install Flash on JB see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774336

I use it to watch the live races from MotoGP site as well as others like vipbox.tv and I've just updated to JB on my TF700 that already had Flash installed on ICS and I'm currently re-watching the motogp race from the past weekend with no worries.
Cheers Q
Fyi Dolphin browser has turned off flash and is strictly using html5. Even if you have flash installed it will not be recognized and it appears that there is no way off turning it on. Stock browser still allows flash so just go there.

You shouldn't use Dolphin because of their track record of recording your every move. Just saying.
Stock browser still works with flash just fine. Even after update to jb.

In order to enable flash player in dolphin browser you need to navigate to data/data/mobi.mgeek.Tunny/Browser/shared_prefs/ using root explorer and delete mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser_preferences.xml.
I'm not the one who discover it. Just wanted to share to those who wants to enable flash on dolphin browser which can be downloaded on play store.

I'll give this a try once my tablet is fully charged.
UPDATE: This works! For those that want flash working in DolphinHD:
Go to data/data/mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser/Shared_prefs and delete mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser_preferences.xml. Then go open Dolphin settings/Web content. You should now be seeing flash player saying always on.

Wasn't Flash 10.3 supposed to fix 720p flash in the browser with the 3.1 update? It seems to work just fine in the Youtube app, but the speed in the browser is still the same as 3.0.1. Is anyone else finding this the case?
While it's not as fast as I'd like it's still faster than it was on 3.0.1.

3.1 flash is slower than 3.0.1 browser flash for me, sucks cus this was one of the main reasons for me updating
I'm tired of messing with it. Just gonna keep the user agent as ipad so it works.
The work around is to click the lower bottom right and a popup will ask if you want it in browser or with the Youtube app.

dolphin hd for me. but i'm excited to see firefox come into the picture for ICS. hopefully they will get their act together for the mobile market. their original mobile firefox was terrible.
i have used the stock browser, ICS+ Browser, Chrome Beta, Dolphin Pad, Opera Next, Opera Mobile, Firefox beta, and Boat.
so far, the one with the best balance between stabliity and speed is Dolphin. Though the .29 update made chrome more usable.
I have found dolphinhd and opera to be the smoothest I have used.
Opera mobile for me. As much as I want to like the Chrome beta (and it is, really, really good) I feel that Opera is still the best browser for touchscreen devices. It still has some issues with a few sites, but it's been getting steadily better and has received a steady stream of updates.
Opera mini (not mobile) is the fastest smoothest browser. It has page transitions and seems to take a static approach, as though it takes a snapshot of the page before displaying it. The scrolling and animations are always fluid. The graphics do appear compressed. This browser definitely has its place for me.
I also use the stock browser when I need a more full featured browser, which is the best in that category due to the quick controls and bookmarks.
I have tried the chrome browser on differnent tablets and its quite slow, not ready for prime time in my opinion. Its excellent on the galaxy nexus phone, though.
Firefox is no good, dolphin is fine but has no advantage over stock in my opinion.

Has anyone used Flash much? The only browser I seem to get Flash working on OK is Opera Mobile. Firefox and Chrome don't seem to want to run flash at all.
Overskreen is interesting as it performs as an independent resizable Window on top of every app which means true multitasking...? Multiple Windows are possible as well.

Chrome for Android has never had flash support:
What version of Flash is supported on Chrome for Android?
Chrome for Android will not be supporting Flash. As you may have seen in November, 2011, Adobe announced it has stopped investing in Flash for mobile browsing. Google has long been committed to making the web platform more powerful through open web technologies like HTML5 and is working with Adobe and other partners to further advance the web standard.
https://developers.google.com/chrome/mobile/docs/faq
I like browsers that have add ons that block advertisements.
I don't understand why this is being disabled by browsers, chrome won't let you use it, dolphin browser disabled the feature and it also says to refer to iPhone 5 that its no longer supporting it on android devices..
I installed adobe from the website not the store.. works fine on stock browser after enabling always on..
Are they removing flash player all together? What the heck will we use? Pleanty of sites require flash player..

It's more the fact that most browsers never supported flash on android. Chrome didn't. Dolphin used some server side processing to allow support for flash websites but that wasn't true flash.
You've just gotta use the stock browser (or ics browser if not on jb) if you need Flash. It is still also possible to have flash player on jb, despite a lot of people complaining it isn't possible.

Well thinking of current standards, there are different implementations of things, css html asp and the browsers support them all. So in reality the browsers will probably support all different variations (if it does go that way), as long as they at least vaguely follow the original standards.

Flash is being phased out in mobile devices since its memory and cpu intensive and generally has poor performance on mobile compared to a desktop. Apple began the transition with others following. Hopefully the transition will be over by 2014.
What was originally a request to find floating apps, turned into a list:
Browsers:
OverSkreen (Jelly Bean currently not supported, says in change notes it is work in progress. There are mixed results when sideloaded)
Floating Browser Flux
Video Players:
Stick it (Supports YouTube)
Super Video
DicePlayer
BSPlayer
Other:
hovernote - Notepad
LilyPad - Facebook, Google Talk, MSN messenger (other services like skype are said to be coming)
AirCalc - Calculator
AirTerm - Terminal
More information here
Any others?
sadly the browser is not comaptible with the tf700
someone tried to sideload it ?
I've used LilyPad HD and HoverNote. I use HoverNote primarily for taking notes while reading PDFs. LilyPad seems to drain battery a bit much so I don't leave it on as a service
I really miss Overskreen on my TF700 after upgrading to Jelly Bean!
I do, however, still use Air Term, Hover Note and Floating Calculator.... Eagerly awaiting a JB version of Overskreen!

Interesting - I sideloaded Overskreen and while it installed fine and *seemed* to work, I found that it kept locking up on my while trying to actually use it. I'd be curious to hear from others who have sideloaded it in Jelly Bean, along with their results... I would *love* to be able to use it, but being that even the developer says that it doesn't work properly with Jelly Bean, I'm a little skeptical that it actually works properly...

if you start overskreen, your Tf700 will just activate your lockscreen?

Sorry, what I mean was that after I start using Overskeen, the Overskeen app itself will just "freeze" - I can close it, but otherwise, it just sits there and does nothing. It happened multiple times in the 10 minutes that I tried to use it. Haven't had any issues with any other apps, so I suspect that it is a problem with Overskreen (especially since the author says that it's not ready for Jelly Bean). If you are able to use it without any issues, maybe I'll give it another shot later...
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
No freezing at all. Its a bit laggy if you drag it across the screen.
But there is no problem using 2 or 3 "windows" at all.
BTW: Do anyone know a floating PDF Viewer app?
I had Overskreen installed before I updated to JB, Still works after, no locking up or lags. Though, I do notice it seems less responsive when I touch/click links.
there is also floatIRC for those who still stuck in the 90's like me
I brought Hover note a while back for University note taking and revision purposes and its great. It also works fine on both my JB nexus 7 and Galaxy s2, Check out my review

Ok im been rooted for a few days now ....... well now im getting bored w. It anythng else can i. Do with it......
Well what have you done on it so far that required root?
Rooting gives you access to the system partition so you can do full backups with apps like titanium and freeze apps to disable them, etc.
Unlocking is where it is at if you want to mod it further and install custom roms, themes etc....

Rooting doesn't enable you to install custom roms? What's the point then? LOL
You can download an Ad-blocker app to block ads from the web and in a variety of apps. You can install BusyBox. More interestingly, you have access to the system partition and you can change sounds etc. there. You can get browser2ram which will increase the speed and responsiveness of the default browser, something I highly reccomend. You can also get LagFix which supposedly makes animations at least appear smoother.
Do backups of your system, app data, apps etc. with Titanium backup as already mentioned by sdbags.
A personal favorite is the ability to use the PS3 sixaxis controller with the tablet, which is only possible through the sixaxis app which require root. Hope these suggestions gives you something to at least fiddle and have fun with
