Can't update Chrome after JB - Asus Transformer TF700

I did the JB update then reset. It had a list of updates to do and I did them all BUT the Chrome update just gets an error and returns to the 'needs update' list.
Help? Anyone getting this?
Thanks!

Ive got the same problem

Usually when I get this problem, it's because
I've already got updates installed for a previous version of Android (ICS) that are getting in the way, or
the update (file) was (physically) pulled from the Play servers, but the notification is still there.
So,
Check to see if you can uninstall updates for Chrome from Settings --> Apps --> All, or
Try again in a couple of hours.

Having this same problem. I did what John recommended but no updates showed. Any other suggestions?

I ended up doing another factory reset actually. Did the Chrome update first. It worked.

Force update of stock apps

I recently rooted my phone so it wiped everything and I'm back to a clean phone but I am missing updates to stock apps. I thought they would get pushed on their own but its been three days now and they haven't updated. Anyway I can force an update? I already tried clearing market cache but it didn't work.

You mean updates like maps 5.9.0 and gmail 2.3.5? Then you'll have to wait until it's your device's turn for an autoupdate again. Basically it's rolled out in badges and it's not your turn now, maybe it'll take a few days.
Haven't heared of a way to force updates. Try signing in to Google servers, *#*#checkin#*#*, but I think that's for OS OTAs only.
Or you'll have someone send you the apks. If you have cwm recovery you can use gapp.zip from CM. Another option (root req) is to get market enabler, delete teh stock app via TB and then redownload it.

Try going to Market. It might not show Gmail under Updates, but I just opened the Gmail market page and it let me manually update to the latest version 2.3.5.

Looking at his name I think he's German as well, we don't have access to GMail app via the market here, we have to wait for OTA updates (or use market enabler).
I'm from India.
I managed to force an update by changing my carrier using market enabler to Verizon in the USA. The market and music app updated within a minute.

Thanks a lot Man!
I tried this link and tried it many times and it didn't work.
Then I tried one thing. I kept my 3G off and then cleared the data. and then activated it and then hit system updates and got ICS update
Okay there is one more problem, I have downloaded the update and rebooted and it was stuck at same Google logo for an hour. Then I removed battery and restarted and it was missing.
So can anybody tell how to do manually?

[Q] "DMClient has stopped working"

Every now and then this msg "DMClient has stopped working" pops up two times. I googled a bit and found out that force stopping and clearing data/cache should stop this from happening, but the pop-up is still bugging me. I found out that when I enter the firmware update section in "About tablet/phone" and tap the "Check for updates" button, the DMClient stops working and it throws me out of the 'update page/menu/thing'.
Is this a very common problem? Are there solutions?
Well, it started a firmware download and now it's installing new firmware. Let's see if that was part of the sudden problems.

The DMClient is what handle the OTA update.

I figured they were related. After this update I'm still on 4.0.3. I guess this is how it should be?
Edit: ah... Lost my root with this update. That sucks, because OF COURSE I'm not going to be home the next two weeks... The nerve Asus has to ruin my hardware in this way...

have a look at thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1622628
it tells you how to downgrate and OTA back for both rooted and un-rooted TF

Hello guys,
Very frequently when there are several apps to update on play store, nothing happens and I have to stop then start the update all process again. Then it updates two or so, then nothing again and I have to stop and press update all again...
Anyone know what's going on?
Im on Stock, rooted 4.4.2.
Cheers
Mark.
I too have this problem, although it happened before upgrading to 4.2.2 as well.
Reboot your device, fixed for me.

I will try next time I'm updating... but my phone has been rebooted a few times since 4.4.2, so it's not like it has just been set up. Also the issue was also there with 4.4.1 and maybe even 4.4.0
cheers
Mark.

Hi
I don't see a way to "unlink" my google account. I have 3 on my phone, and the only options in phone settings is to deselect sync (tick box) for specific items or to remove the account.
what do you mean?
tx
I have had the issue where I hit update all and then I don't hit the accept new changes that the application is requesting. It doesn't seem to show unless you stop and restart the download.

[HELP] Error RPC:S-3

Hi there;
I reinstall the stock rom on my nexus 5. At the beginning all my apps get well installed. But I see that Zooper Pro Widget didn't install, I try to install it manually but I receive the message error RPC:S-3...
I found a thread on XDA a tried everything were mentioned there but nothing works .
The problem seems to be with Zooper cause I can install other application without problems.
Any idea ?
Did you install the latest stock image, 4.4.3? Maybe zopper isn't compatible with it yet

Got the same issue at the moment with an app (Scrum Poker).
I tried clearing stuff (google play and google play services - didn't touch the play framework data yet) but to no avail. The app is constantly nagging me about updates and I will probably end up uninstalling it.

I hope you will have the same luck I have. I had to wait just one day and everyhing seems to be good now.
It seems that's a a random issue. I was updating my apps when I only had this error with CM Browser.
This is happening to me too, I thought that it's because I rooted with towelroot.
I had to download the apk using apk downloader chrome extension and sideload it.
I could not update using play store. I uninstalled it tried to install it fresh but I still got the error. After I sideloaded it, I uninstalled it and tried to install it directly from Google play and it worked!
Edit: the apps that I could not update were gtasks and badland.

Did the same, and now I don't get the nag about the update. Guess there was something odd, since I had to "force" to download the latest, so maybe the error is actually on google's side and I have been resetting and reconfiguring stuff like a mad man for nothing
Exactly.I cleared data for Google play and Google play services, uninstalled updates for Google play, I even cleared data for Google framework but nothing helped. It could be a Google issue.

More tests:
I can install a new app or uninstall an app and then reinstall it without a problem.
It seems that only apps that have updates generate this error.
*EDIT* There's a new update for rayman fiesta run and the update worked so the problem could be fixed already
*EDIT2* I uninstalled Badland and it still gives the error when I try to install it fresh.

I'm assuming this is perhaps an issue on Google's end somehow. I've never had this error, as I've always been stock/rooted. However, I am now getting this error when trying to update the ESPN Sportscenter app. I figure I'll just wait to see if it resolves itself.

+1
Yesterday I was finally able to install CM Browser. I didn't do anything to fix it.
In my case force downloading the latest version from play store (using the chrome extension on my desktop) did the trick. It seems that the version that google was serving me by default was 2.3 though it was notifying me that it had an update ready.
Guess it's some sort of caching issue, but for me it was annoying (was so close to reset the phone).

Just an update from my post above. I was getting the error all day yesterday trying to update the Sportscenter app. This morning, it updated fine. I didn't do anything at all. I guess a little patience does go a long way.
