I need someone who has an unflashed sgs4g to contact me. It can be rooted but you can't have tried ANY other flashing including Roms or cwm, etc. I need a clean system dump. I will gladly walk anyone through how to do it. Thank you!

I'll be glad to help. Send me the details and I'll get it to you. I have not attempted to flash anything and my phone is only rooted. I don't believe it matters that I'm running a different launcher with widgetlocker, does it?

I just need a clean dump to work off of for dev purposes. Do u know how to dump via cygwin?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
alone,
I think you can deodex dump of the entire rom including the apps. so you will not get any error deodexing the apps separately. that what the vibrant devs are doing.
Anyone who wants to help, here's how. First you need to install adb on your PC and also install Cygwin. Set your phone to USB debugging turned on and hook your phone to PC. Make sure all your drivers are installed, if not windows will ask for them. Now open cygwin and type the following:
Adb shell
Su
dd if=/dev/block/stl9 of=/sdcard/factoryfs.rfs BS=4096
dd if=/dev/block/stl11 of=/sdcard/cache.rfs BS=4096
Now get those two files from your sdcard, zip them up and post to multiupload and just send me the link. Thanks to everyone for helping.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLASH WHAT YOU PULL. You have to tar it a certain way for it to work with Odin. And try to leave all the bloat if u can.

that is if there aren't any others here that can get it to you faster

Thanks. What kernel is it using and is there a gpl source for it? I've noticed a lot of roms lately with no kernel sources. Not a big deal just wondering why kernel sources have been disappearing lately from the forums.

sweet, finally a new ROM for me to try lol
Hey all,
I've forked and submitted a pull request to update galaxys 4g and add galaxys 4g mtd.
Currently the teamacid manifest is empty, until we can confirm and update our stuff to correctly support rom manager.
With that, I also suggest that if you wish to add your rom to rom manager that you peruse Koush's document on adding thirdparty support to rom manager.
Specifically:
Finally, to register your ROM for OTA updates, you need to edit your /system/build.prop in your ROM to include your Developer ID ro.modversion (as mentioned above) so ROM Manager can identify the version of your ROM. This is optional as well, but why not get OTA updates if it's just a couple lines of settings!
ro.rommanager.developerid=cyanogen
ro.modversion=CyanogenMod-5.0.5-Droid

Also, I will be working on figuring out goo manager support (open recovery stuff) and possibly recovery switcher.
Just a heads up.
SWEET! !!!
RM support is easy to do now. that document is old. He does ROM hosting now, so it's basically you do everything on a site, upload it, and the RM team will approve it; done.
Just make sure to have the info in the build.prop on the 1st upload.
Edit: hmm..the link I have for RomShare is dead. I'll get with Koush later and get an updated link.
Edit 2: Found it: http://developer.clockworkmod.com/ That was easy. lol

Great, that is very helpful!
My pull request does add Team Acid, which I guess I could have done that part through that link.
The other part was to correct the init the rm manifest pointed to for bml roms, and to add galaxys4gmtd. (as my updated comment in the pull request mentions)
Well, just an fyi. I've officially given up on rommanager support.
But, who cares, right?
It was super simple to setup goo.im support, and I didn't have to wait on a pull request. The support on irc was friendly and I didn't get insulted by them.... <.< >.> *cough* *cough*
Expect to see some TeamAcid roms on GooManager soon!

Before you guys even brought us these ICS roms, I checked out RomManager, and Goo's sites. My impression was RM seemed professional and all, but Goo definately stood out as more dev-friendly & user friendly. Glad you guys set up on Goo. If you don't mind me asking, does Goo host your ROMS free of charge?

Thanks. I skipped out on a few luxuries this week so I can hook a few of you devs up this payday. I don't think I'll have anything to spare for Goo, yet. Is there a way to donate besides paypal?
I think most of them use PayPal it is safer for both parties involved. If you are worried about credit card safety I think you can use the Walmart prepaid card service to load on to PayPal and no CC is necessary.

Well title says it all, im doing a blind build and i got one person testing for me but i think it'll be faster for all to just get a few more on board. If you want to help hit me up on here. First 3 will be taken if they meet the following criteria's
Needed from testers:
1. Must know how to Odin back to stock (aka if you soft brick you can get back to stock) the current build loads up just fine.
2. Must have efs backup ( you never know when flashing)
3. Must know how to do logcat ( adb logcat > logcat.txt)
4. Lastly, actually want to to test long term, like with updates and stuff I put into it.
Of course the people who decide to test I ask don't leak anything til it's ready
I have 3 roms for the SGS4G, 1 for the LG and well working on this one so I know what I am doing If you do decide to help I will have an update rom this weekend unless you want to test current build.
Well let the fun begin!
I know I posted really late and not alot of people have seen it but if you guys don't want me to try its cool just let the mods know to close this.
