[Q] Multi music files problem - General Questions and Answers

I have a friend with a problem related with music files.
All the music players found always 2 identical music files. One of the files can't be played. But when i looked to the files there was 1 file.
How can I solve this that all files will be found once?

Delete all your music files and stick them on an iPod
Or, provide more information so that people might have a hope of being able to give you some sensible advice

Why use a stupid iPod for that?
Android ftw.
All music players found 2 music files instead of 1.
I have tested with Winamp, Songbird and default player.

It is called sarcasm
Provide more info - what device, Stock or Custom ROM, version, anything and everything that might help people otherwise they have to just guess - and that is when you get no answers, because we can't generally be bothered to help people who don't want to help themselves

You might want to post on the Galaxy S2 forums then - more likely to find someone who can help you if it is a known issue.

Sure grap it from a system dump and install it =]. that "should" work...
Thanks for the tip.
I downloaded a dump but didn't see anything that was obviously the Galaxy S media player. I think I'm going to give up on it for the moment because I'm new to android and don't really feel like rooting just yet.

[Q] Google Music Duplicate Songs

Hi all, I've been using Google Music for a few weeks now and it's pretty cool.
However, one issue I've faced is duplicate songs being listed, i.e. the songs I have stored locally and in 'the Cloud' show up in the Google Music app.
I understand it's beta but are there any workarounds? I've tried the ones from the Droid Incredible thread BTW.
Thank you.

Did you ever get an answer to this? I am seeing the same on my phone and was wondering what/if any solution is out there
I'm in the same boat. I've just picked up a Nexus.
Seems the only way to have them local and not appear twice is to download them through the app as opposed to manually copying them over USB.

Have you checked what shows as your library when you log into Google Play from a "regular" computer?
Sometimes, the info it has stored for album & song descriptions - whatever the heck they call it - is not correctly set for it to recognize that something is a duplicate.
Also, I know that it does not know anything about what I may have loaded just onto my Nexus, even though it "syncs" - must be one-way only, Cloud to device.
Songs have to be "downloaded" (uploaded?) into Google Music for it to recognize them. You may have duplicates because of this.
A very nice work around is to setup playlists of specific albums & artists, for your locally loaded stuff & what is not duplicated, and ignore the Albums & Artist display modes on your device. You can setup a playlist with just one album, and not include the tracks you don't particularly like - isn't there. usually at least one on most albums? - and just the locally stored or Cloud stored versions of the song(s).
I have everything on my Nexus at this point so I can listen when not networked. Then again, I have not had it long so I've not eaten up all my storage yet.
I hope this helps!

TouchWiz Music Player for Kyrillo's Rom v10.0 Final

Hey I was wondering if there is any way I could get the original touchwiz player from samsung to Kyrillo's ROM v10.0.
I tried using root explorer but the app just FC's while trying to launch.(gingerbread compatibility issue maybe?). Also I hate the stock player included in the ROM and would like to get rid of it. Any way I can do this?
If you really want it you'll it to port it to GB because there is some libs needed by the app i don't remember where but darius post a tutorial try to follow it...
If i find the tutorial i'll say it to you don't worry
I'm really not good at porting stuff as I have limited knowledge. But can someone direct me to a page where I can find more info on this stuff. Or recommend a player with a similar interface and functionality to it?

just use poweramp, its perfect for me and ive used it since i first found out about poweramp
if you wanna delete the stock music app in Kyrillos V10, just go into root explorer and delete the music player files
You can't just use touchwiz mp3 player in gingerbread roms because you need Samsung's custom res-framework.
Winamp (free) and Poweramp are the best mp3 players out there.

streaming music straight from dropbox

so is there a good way to stream music from the dropbox folder besides clicking each one and clicking play .. so like just a shuffle kinda thing streaming straight from the dropbox folder ?
Why not use Google Music? You may have to reupload, but at least it is a dedicated app for that purpose?
I agree google music is your best option

Thanks for the groundbreaking update bro. Unless you can answer the question or provide an alternative, please keep the grumpfish inside the tank, ok ?
What I would suggest is creating an .m3u of all the files you want to shuffle and then opening that in winamp and shuffle them. Let us know how that works out

Joking aside, will that work with the music in Dropbox through the phone?! In all seriousness I totally want to try that (but I don't have the phone part of the equation quite yet) but knowing what admittedly little I do about the way Dropbox works on Android that doesn't seem like it would be possible...
I have been using Winamp since PC version 1.3 haha
droptun.es
Try http://droptun.es, you can stream all your music from dropbox folders. It's simple, but it works well.

[Q] Music Players similar to stock Samsung one?

Hi everyone, does anybody know of a music player that's similar to the stock Samsung Touchwiz one?
I'm looking for a music player that specifically has a widget like the Samsung TW one has, one that you can scroll thru your entire library/playlist contents on the home screen/lock screen WITHOUT needing to open the app itself.
I've tried looking for it on my own, but no luck, and I've tried ports of the stock Samsung TW music player but cannot push to system/app or install conventionally or flashing the zip. I think it has something to do with my phone not using TW anymore?
Does anybody know of any music player that has that kind of feature? Or better yet can link me to some kind of port of the TW app that would work on my phone and ROM? Thanks
I'm running Mahdi ROM 4.4.4 on a Samsung S4 i9505
