App Locker Style App That Unlocks All - Asus Transformer TF700

Basically, I want an app protection program that unlocks all protected applications with a single password. Something that would lose authentication after a set period of time for instance. I'm purposely not using a logon password protection because if the pad is stolen, I want the thief to be able to get online and use some apps. If its all locked up, theyre more likely to do a wipe. I'm just sick of puttin a password in every other minute on every app i have protected.

[POLL] Do you use a passcode lock?

Do you use a passcode lock on your phone? If so is it a pattern or password based. Why or why not? I've just been wondering lately. It's becoming more of a hassle not having a reliable timeout for putting in a password.
I wish you could set the passcode lock to come up only every hour and until then it would use the regular lockscreen that can take you directly to texts/missed calls etc.
What do you prefer?
I used pattern lock for a bit when I first got my phone. Then I realized you could see the pattern left by the grease on my fingers. Also very easy for one to watch you and replicate. Same with pin, as far as one watching you. If someone gets ahold of your phone physically, they have access to your sdcard and internal with adb. the only security I use at the moment is, holding on to my phone.

I use the non visible pattern lock and Sim lock.
I'll sometimes disable the pattern lock if I'm using my phone heavily but make sure I enable it when I'm done.
I'm a secret squirrel kinda guy. You just can't pick my phone up and read my emails, text, contacts and browser history.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Juice Defender give you the ability to set seperate screen off and lock times? Its full of many other usefull tools as well.
I don't use the locks personally, seems more trouble then I'm willing to deal with. I have the app setup to lock and locate it remotely via SMS if the need be. Besides, what's the worst that could happen other then someone seeing all the porn I have on here.

Juice Defender's lock timeouts never worked right for this specific phone. I looked into it a while back and went with Unlock With Wifi. It worked very well in Froyo in the early versions of the app but with GB and the latest versions it locks on its own randomly even though it's been more than 15 minutes (my timeout at the moment).
Lockscreens are just a hassle :/.
I stopped using the pattern lock when I realized that Odin would get rid of it. I'm sure almost everyone has a friend that knows about how to root phones, so if it's lost, the lockscreen doesn't provide that much protection.
Aside from security, it also doesn't let me use my music player on the lockscreen! It was quite annoying to unlock > access music. Now that I'm using the MIUI lockscreen, it's just turning on the phone and pressing the button.
Btw, for those that might not know, pressing the unlock button twice will open up your music player on the MIUI lockscreen! I found out a few weeks ago! XD
Yes I use the pattern just bcuz it looks cool. Lol. I just wish u could also put one of the EDT tweaks lockscreens and the passcode so i could use the MIUI lockscreen :/

[Q] Encrypt phone and removing the screen password

Hi,
I think this 'encrypt phone' resource really handy but according to google, that password SHOULD be exactly the same password used for the lock screen (or pin).
In my case I have a password already set up to lock screen but I use Llama to remove that password when at home.
So my question is.. once encrypt is setup and later I remove the Lock screen password (as Llama does), will it mess up? Or cause any harm?
Thanks!

Ive done a very similar thing with my device and when I removed the password it completely locked me out of my phone. I had to hard reset to get back in I wouldnt advise removing the password. Unless your 100% sure you wont be locked out

Those apps that are supposed to lock other apps are worthless

So I'm using avast mobile security. It comes with an app locking feature. So if someone steals your phone and tries to open your gmail, they'd have to put in a 4 digit pin to unlock it. But there's a stupidly easy way to get around this. All the thief would have to do is press and hold the avast mobile security app and drag it over to uninstall. Then after they uninstall it, all the apps that it locked are open! This is so dumb. What were they thinking?

[APP][6.0+] Disable fingerprint -- Does exactly what the app titles suggest

Fingerprint is great, you can easily unlock your device authenticate a purchase and do other great things. Fingerprint offers great convince but it may be less secure than a strong PIN, pattern, or password. A copy of your fingerprint could be used to unlock your phone. So what this app allows you to disable fingerprint at lock screen preventing someone from accessing your phone.
You might be thinking .... Wait a minute why would i need to disable fingerprint, Its secure, unique and only i have access to my fingerprints. Well you are right. But in some scenarios you can be forced or someone can use your fingerprint without your knowledge and can do harm to your device.
Scenario 1 :
Assume you are living in a joint family or in hostel or in some similar situation and while you are sleeping, someone can easily access your phone by using your fingerprint.
Or simply you have smaller brother/sister who just plays game all night with your phone by unlocking you device with your fingerprint.
Scenario 2:
Assume you are in a situation where you can be forced to unlock your device using fingerprint. In such situation you can prevent someone from accessing your device(assuming you already disabled fingerprint using the app ). Now some of you might argue , in such situation we can be forced to give up pin/pattern/password. You are right but revealing pin/pattern/password is up to you where as someone can be easily forced to unlock there device with fingerprint.
I can't mention every possible scenario where this app can be useful, but i this app is useful to you i would love to hear your story.
How to use
- Lock you device using this app
Your device is now locked and fingerprint will no longer work. Now you are required to enter your pin/pattern/password to unlock your device.
- Unlock your device with pin/pattern/password
Fingerprint is enabled again after unlocking with pin/pattern/password for normal use again.
Its that simple!!!

Disable "Password Required For Additional Security"

Occasionally, while on call, or when I open my phone, I get this message (image below)
"Password required for additional security"
I have fingerprint unlock saved in the settings. Instead of allowing fingerprint unlock, it requires entering my password/pin. I use a long and secure password, so it takes time to enter it and make sure it's correct. I already enter this password everytime my phone boots, so this additional request is extremely annoying and unnecessary.
Does anyone know Why this additional request is made? What triggers it? Or How to disable it?
Any help is appreciated
I am also interested
I get this occasionally and I have a short pin. I think it is very much "backing" up fingerprint security since no security is perfect. Good security involves something you have "fingerprint" and something you know "pin" since it would be very unlikely an imposter would have both. I would be very surprised if there is a way to turn the random check of your pin off.

Unfortunately, this "security check" can make your device LESS secure, because it happens at random times. If you're in the grocery store, at someone's house, or anywhere with security camera's, then entering your Pin/Password can be recorded on video. More businesses and people are installing camera's everyday.
In these situations using Fingerprint (instead of Pin) is More Secure. It's for this reason I want to disable it randomly requiring pin/password
hate this
Yep I hate the one that programed this security feature without an obvious way to turn it off, we don't no one telling us what is good for our security. I want it to unlock everytime I touch the finger print scanner, even at startup, and if anything I want it to lock down if I use a certain finger and then require a password.
Mod edit: Removed unacceptable language.
I actually have a pretty simple PIN just because of this situation otherwise fingerprint is just fine :/
can this be disabled? everyone can see me type in my pin when this happens
