Hi, I'm in Jakarta, Indonesia. Here the Note 10.1 has only 1 version. Which is GT N-8000 and can do both wi-fi and 3G. And NO, I don't have any problem like yours...Enjoying my note day after day...

Yes, I have the same problem. Reset did not help. But, self tuning off reduced dramatically after hard reset and cash wipe. I also did not sync my apps and backup with my Google account. I have the impression that syncing with Google was causing the problem. I still some crashes but not as often as before.
Did get a new one? And do you still have the same issue?

Nexus S freezes randomly

Hi guys,
I have a unlocked and rooted Nexus S i9023 bought around last week. Since then, I have experienced my phone freezing a couple of times already.
It happened to me at least 2 times on stock rom. And another 3 times on custom rom.
It freezes not during usage but during sleep mode. There will be times when I try to use my phone and I realised I cannot 'unsleep' it. All the 4 buttons at the bottom will be lighted up even in sleep mode. So usually when I see all 4 buttons lighted up in sleep mode it usually means it's frozen already.
Is this a common issue for Nexus S? Or am I the only one facing this problem?
Is there anyway to solve it? Or it is a hardware problem and I need to send back for repair?
Thanks for everything in advance
Are you on Android 2.3.3?
Yes I am. On GRI54 to be specific.

It just froze again. This time with WIFI tethering on.
When it froze, I realised I can still surf the website i'm currently on (which is xda-developers) but i cannot surf any other websites. Such as google etc. My laptop still shows that its connected to wifi after it froze though. Just that I can only surf one website.

Hi There,
Mine did this before but never on stock. I found going into recovery then Formatting Cache/Data/System and Dalvik cache then flashing the ROM solved it for me.
Another time I've noticed this is when I overclock the processor too much.
Mine happened on stock before, without overclocking.
Before I changed to custom rom (SuperAOSP), I wiped data/cache/dalvik cache
And the problem still arose.

It could well be hardware related then, try doing the above as I mentioned and see if it fixes it (it won't wipe your sd storage unless you select that option) if it doesn't I'd suggest you get a replacement
Will try that again and see if it works. Thanks.
there is a thread already that I believe describes your problem in more detail here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=986181&page=3
Also here, same problem:

Google and Samsung seem to be ignoring the issue.

Random shutdown, Screen of Death?

Has anyone else came across the screen of death (random shutdown when idle and requires long pressing power to turn back on) with their Galaxy Tab 7+? I have this problem everyday and it seems like other Samsung phones had similiar problems like this one.
Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this? Supposively it may be a problem with the Wifi or reading the SD card when idle.

I Did a factory rest and haven't had one in two Weeks.
I did a factory reset last night and still have the same problem. Did you do a factory reset under "Settings > Privacy > Factory Reset"?
Didn't change a thing for me.

I occasionally get reboots, I can hear the sound when its in my pocket. Likely due to set cpu. My min is 500. I hear its related to on demand setting. I may uninstall if it persists.
the SOD issues is a known issue on some units.
While some units have it very frequently others don't.
The one i got from Fry's (and returned) had it.
The 3G version one i got from ipmart.com doesn't have it.
It seems like it may have something to do with the SD card reading. I removed mine and haven't had a problem since.

I take that back, just got SoD again. I'm really considering exchanging this for another one

No I did mine from recovery. Power and the volume button closest to power. Select factory reset. I believe they are slightly different, but I am not positive of that. If that doesn't help, I'd return it if possible and get a different one. Here in the states most return periods have been extended Into January. Good luck.
Another thing you can try is using Odin to flash the retail ROM for the 6210 that is posted in the development section. I have had to do that several times trying to get cwm sorted, that may have fixed it. That's a good way of reloading the code, because I did get the sod several time prior to my first brick. After reloading the code, I forgot the problem even existed. Again good luck

I have had two Tab 7+ from Amazon. Both had the SOD problem. I returned both and now I will either wait until there is a fix from Samsung or will look for another tab.
I got them 2-3 times per day on my first unit...I exchanged it once Best Buy got another in stock and haven't had any issues at all. So yeah...if you're getting the SODs, exchange it if you can.
I had this too! I immediately asked for it to be returned. I didn't spend so much money on a device that randomly shuts down. Sending it back today..
I have only had one random reboot (that I know of). I have, however, had some apps like Marketplace crash on me at least a couple dozen times. I always have to manually reboot to fix it.
Quick update guys, I exchanged it today at Best Buy and just got done updating the firmware through Samsung Kies. We'll see how this one goes; I'll keep everyone posted.
Just wanted to let everyone know that I havent had a SoD since I exchanged it and the battery lasts longer also. So far so good, I'm glad I didnt keep the other one.

If you can, go for an exchange. Don't keep a defective item unless you have to. Samsung has warranty on it though I believe.

Im chalking my random reboots up to setcpu. Had 2 in 10 minutes. Removed set cpu none since. PROBABLY need a custom kernel.

What were your SetCPU settings?
Any screen-off profile with a maximum limit less than 800 MHz WILL cause SoDs until the kernel can get patched.
removed all profiles. just 500 min 1.1 max
Finally gave up and returned mine. I had just updated to the latest firmware, did a factory reset and 4 hours later got 2 back to back SOD's. This was the last day I could return it to Best Buy and luckily they had 1 left. Charging the new one right now.

bump no one?
There are people reporting rebooting as well, you are not alone.
I would suggest do a full factory reset and see if still have the issue.
If you still do, contact the seller and demand a replacement or repair at least.
It's hard to diagnosis why this happens, if I were you, I would just go back to the seller rather than trying to solve it myself.

Nexus 5 WiFi problem

Hi guys, I am having a strange problem with my nexus 5, or I should say my Wife's Nexus 5. Right what is happening is that when my wife's phone is connected to a WiFi network it does not receive calls. My phone is identical and has no problems at all. The phone has been back to where we bought it from for repair twice and they finally gave us a brand new phone. After getting home and restoring my wife's phone it has the same problem. Both phones are stock and updated to 4.4.4 . I have checked the settings and as far as I can see they are identical. If I reboot the phone it will ring with WiFi on but after a couple of minutes the problem returns.
Now I would guess that an app is causing the problem but I have tried uninstalling and re installing most of her apps but still can't solve this. I have spent ages on the phone to our provider (T-Mobile UK) tried my sim in her phone but still have the same problem. Is there any type of diagnostic software or app I can run to try and pin point the problem?
The phone has been factory reset but still got the same problem! Bearing in mind the phone is brand new and has the same problem as the old one its got to be an app hasn't it, but how to work out which one
Thanks in advance

Well after an evening of uninstalling and re-installing apps and resetting it seems to have cured itself. I am sure it was something to do with the recent system update, as the problem only started recently. The phone is just over 6 months old and we have had no problems until this. Still fingers crossed it seems ok now.

Hi, i'm having the same problem!! When on wifi sometimes calls get through but most of the time it blocks them, I also thought it had to be something about an app but i even booted the phone into safemode which disables all 3rd party apps and the issue was still there. Where you being able to narrow it down to something in particular??
EDIT: Nevermind, i think i found a thread with the solution.

I should have updated ages ago, the problem was in fact being caused by the sim card. Dont know why it suddenly started playing up but it coincided with the software update to 4.4.4 But my phone was identical and had no problem and my wifes did. Compared to hers my sim was relatively new we eventually ordered a replacement sim and there has been no problem since
Sorry I could not be any more help

Force Touch Problem

Hi everybody.
I noticed a problem on my S8+, with the Home Button Force Touch feature not working when the phone is hot, or even randomly.
Does anyone have a problem like that ?
I think this happens since the last update, but I can't be sure because I had the update 3 days after I got the phone.
Thanks.
I had the same issue about a month ago. I asked about it in every forums but no one answered.
Problem happened when I was playing game. I was trying to get to the home screen by hard pressing home button but my phone didn't respond. I tried to fix it in every way. I contacted Samsung via mySamsung app but the advice they gave me didn't work at all. Fortunately after a day, it started working again and the problem has never happened since then.
I recommend you to clear cache partition in recovery mode and then wait for a day.

Thanks I'm gonna try your advice. But I didn't install TWRP yet and didn't root either, so I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to do it.
Ok so I wiped the cache partition (with the stock recovery), let's see if it worked.
