Tab 3 8" vs Note 8

Well after reading alot of reviews and the lack of good development for the Tab 3 8" I am returning mine for a full refund and going to the Note 8. Just browsing the other day in the Note 8 Development area looks like my kinda device.
Is a bit silly to even try to compare the tab 3 8.0 to the note 8.
Logically that the note 8 is a superior machine to a low budget tab 3 8.0 but in regards to development, you need to be patient since this is a new device. But rest assured that there will be plenty of new development for this device really soon.

I went from a tab 2 7" to a gen 1 n7, to a tab 3 7". wife has a note 8.
IMHO the tab 3 7" isnt quite to the level of the note 8, but does that make tab 3 a "bad" device? not by any means... its actually pretty comparable considering the price difference.
my preference is the tab 3 or note 8 over the n7.

I went from gen 1 Tab (P1000) 7" to gen 3 Tab (T311) 8". Widths for both devices are virtually the same. Meanwhile, Note 8 is too wide to comfortably hold in one hand.
T311 is awesome!

[Q] Is the Galaxy S4 like a tablet?

Alright guys, so here I go.
I've got the Galaxy S4 and was recently gifted the Galaxy Note 8.0 Tablet. I ask this question as a 11th grader. Is the Galaxy S4 enough for a vacation trip to my grandparents house for a week or is it difficult without the Galaxy Note 8.0, the 'portable' tablet buddy? I feel totally confused between the two devices. Everywhere the S4 is portrayed as a do-it-all phone and being a geek myself I happen to agree with this fact then why a tablet? Though the Note 8.0 is a tablet on the lighter scale, is it required when I've got the S4, my usages being :
1. Carrying my photo album with me (I've got a 64gig card)
2. Social Networking 'wherever' I go (WhatsApp, Hangouts)
3. Mailing yes
4. I'm not an avid reader though I love to read (once I get this controversy between S4 and the Note 8.0 cleared )
5. I'm a fairly good gamer (not hardcore - I play Android games like NFS MostWanted 2012)
6. I'd not want to carry my laptop on a trip.
7. I make ppts rarely.
8. I shoot a lot of pictures
9. Watch some movies (rarely)
10. Music lover
11. Make notes on Evernote on my syllabus and studies
12. Last but not the least - a geek .
Please let me know whether the S4 IS LIKE A TABLET OR NOT. Or is the Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet totally a different story from the Galaxy S4?
Thanks a deal guys, in advance.

the s4 is pretty big but all in all the Galaxy note 3 is more of a phablet. the s4 has a pixel densitiy of 441 pixels per inch (ppi) while the note 8.0 has 189 ppi so if you were to want to watch movies or photos the s4 would have a better image.
Obviously not
Of course it is not
S4 is much like a note 2
My tab 7.7 is bigger than a s4
Then the S4 and the Note 8.0 is a bad combination?

So does it mean I don't require the Note 8.0? Because they say the Note 8.0 is like the elder bro of the S4 because it shares the same design and physique. Why would they wanna build a tablet when a smartphone could do 'everything' that the tablet could do?

note 3?
I suggest note 3 rather than tab8

its not a bad combination at all its just a screen size difference. i have not heard anyone say the note 8.0 is a elder brother to the S4, it would be more of a elder brother to the note 3. i myself have a Galaxy s1 and a galaxy tab 2 10.1 which is a great combination

Nay, i'm talking about the combination of the S4 and the Note 8.0 as a tablet and smartphone combination.

The idea behind the S4 was to make a 'smartphone' right? So, is it logical to own an S4 for a smartphone and a Note 8.0 for a tablet? Or does it make no sense like the combination of a phablet and a tablet like the Note 3 and maybe the Note 8.0?

people do own notes 1-3 and galaxy tabs or note tabs and its pretty unlogical but they still buy them
Well! So, even this isn't a logical combination, is that what you say?
Thanks for your help though!
Is not like a tablet how a galaxy note 2 can be..
Nice!
Whoa, thanks guys!

[Q] Tab S 8.4 - Pouch?

Hi XDA,
I just upgraded from the Tab 8.9 to the Tab S 8.4 - I'm so happy with it !!
I have this pouch for my Tab 8.9:
http://www.samsung.com/hk_en/consum...ssories/EFC-1C9LBECSTD?subsubtype=cover-pouch
I've been searching and the closest I could find for the Tab S 8.4 is this:
http://www.ceocase.com/products/samsung-galaxy-tab-s-8-4-slim-light-pouch-sleeve-bag-protect-case
--but it is in portrait
Does anyone know of a pouch for the Tab S 8.4 that is just like the above for the Tab 8.9?
--that is, no clips or anything - just a snug-fitting, landscape pouch.
Thanks,
PuppetTestPilot
Gonna bump this one as I am also interested :good:
Guys
You want to look for Ipad Mini sleeves that are a bit taller then the Ipad unit itself.
The Ipad Mini and Tab S 8.4 are almost identical in size, from Wikipedia.
Ipad Mini
200mm (7.9") x 134.7mm (5.3") x 7.5mm (0.3")
Tab S 8.4
212.8mm (8.4") x 125.6mm (4.9") x 6.6mm (0.26")
So if you get a sleeve with less then half an inch of extra length top to bottom it should take the Tab S perfectly, but of course YMMV.

Samsung Tab A 8.0

Hello,
I have received a samsung galaxy tab A 8.0 . I know that 9.7 comes with a pen but 8 doesn't. I am a student and I want to take notes on my 8.0 tablet. Can anyone please suggest me the best possible stylus? Will active stylus work on my tablet? I am planning to use it for school purposes and it will involve a good amount of writing.
Thanks
I have the Tab A 8.0 with S Pen (model SM-P355). I don't think that a stylus will work on the SM-T series (the Tab A models without an S Pen). I also have the Note 8, and know that the S Pens are not interchangeable between them.

Note 10 + replacement stylus pen

I use my Note 10+ to take a lot of notes at work. And the spen is nice I am looking for a pen size stylus compatible with the Note 10+ and have not found one yet .. Any suggestions?
take the one that works with an tab s 3 4 6, they also work on note series (i tried. had an tab s6)
