I have the s3 and the note 10.1 and looking for a 7" tablet with pen support. I love the spen in the note and hope there is a pen for the 7 plus. Is there a solution?
Alright guys, so here I go.
I've got the Galaxy S4 and was recently gifted the Galaxy Note 8.0 Tablet. I ask this question as a 11th grader. Is the Galaxy S4 enough for a vacation trip to my grandparents house for a week or is it difficult without the Galaxy Note 8.0, the 'portable' tablet buddy? I feel totally confused between the two devices. Everywhere the S4 is portrayed as a do-it-all phone and being a geek myself I happen to agree with this fact then why a tablet? Though the Note 8.0 is a tablet on the lighter scale, is it required when I've got the S4, my usages being :
1. Carrying my photo album with me (I've got a 64gig card)
2. Social Networking 'wherever' I go (WhatsApp, Hangouts)
3. Mailing yes
4. I'm not an avid reader though I love to read (once I get this controversy between S4 and the Note 8.0 cleared )
5. I'm a fairly good gamer (not hardcore - I play Android games like NFS MostWanted 2012)
6. I'd not want to carry my laptop on a trip.
7. I make ppts rarely.
8. I shoot a lot of pictures
9. Watch some movies (rarely)
10. Music lover
11. Make notes on Evernote on my syllabus and studies
12. Last but not the least - a geek .
Please let me know whether the S4 IS LIKE A TABLET OR NOT. Or is the Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet totally a different story from the Galaxy S4?
Thanks a deal guys, in advance.

the s4 is pretty big but all in all the Galaxy note 3 is more of a phablet. the s4 has a pixel densitiy of 441 pixels per inch (ppi) while the note 8.0 has 189 ppi so if you were to want to watch movies or photos the s4 would have a better image.
Obviously not
Of course it is not
S4 is much like a note 2
My tab 7.7 is bigger than a s4
Then the S4 and the Note 8.0 is a bad combination?

So does it mean I don't require the Note 8.0? Because they say the Note 8.0 is like the elder bro of the S4 because it shares the same design and physique. Why would they wanna build a tablet when a smartphone could do 'everything' that the tablet could do?

note 3?
I suggest note 3 rather than tab8

its not a bad combination at all its just a screen size difference. i have not heard anyone say the note 8.0 is a elder brother to the S4, it would be more of a elder brother to the note 3. i myself have a Galaxy s1 and a galaxy tab 2 10.1 which is a great combination

Nay, i'm talking about the combination of the S4 and the Note 8.0 as a tablet and smartphone combination.

The idea behind the S4 was to make a 'smartphone' right? So, is it logical to own an S4 for a smartphone and a Note 8.0 for a tablet? Or does it make no sense like the combination of a phablet and a tablet like the Note 3 and maybe the Note 8.0?

people do own notes 1-3 and galaxy tabs or note tabs and its pretty unlogical but they still buy them
Well! So, even this isn't a logical combination, is that what you say?
Thanks for your help though!
Is not like a tablet how a galaxy note 2 can be..
Nice!
Whoa, thanks guys!
I just picked up my Surface Pro 2 64 GB yesterday.
This information would probably only appeal to a small minority of users but I discovered that my s-Pen on my Galaxy Note 2 also works on my Surface Pro 2. The s-Pen button also works on the Surface Pro 2.
This is a plus as it solves the need for a spare pen for me. I was a little concerned about how to store the Surface Pro pen while on the go but the answer is that it really doesn't matter if I have it on me because I always have my smartphone with me.
Naturally, the reverse is true too. The Surface Pro 2 pen also works on the Galaxy Note 2.
This means that the s-Pen's on the Galaxy Note tablets (10 & 8) should also work.
This is because the samsung S-Pen is a rebranding of wacom's technology (used under license). The surface pro also uses wacom. They are essentially both using the exact same tech.
The first gen galaxy note phablet did use a version with a lower pressure sensitivity though, I don't know if thats a change on the phone or stylus side and whether it would cause a forward/backward compatibility issue or not.

That works for me.
Actually,I like using the surface pen on the phone more than the s-pen.
Hello everyone,
Can I use a newer S-Pen model with the Note 8.0 N5100?? Would the S-Pen of the Note 8 or 3 work with this tablet??
i.e. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Sa...614335?hash=item213edd58bf:g:HpQAAOSwPW9a8wlN
Would something like this work (including pressure sensitivity etc)??
Sorry for the late reply.
You can use both the Note 3 and Note 8 S-Pen with this tablet. Writing with the Note 8 S-Pen is very accurate, way better than the stock Note 8.0 stylus, I recommend!
Yes, any Samsung S-Pen will work, as will most standard Wacom EMR pens (Wacom has retroactively named this "Wacom One" for compatibility purposes), including, but not limited to: the original Surface Pen (from the Surface Pro 1 &2 - Surface Pro 3 and newer uses a completely different technology), the STAEDTLER Noris digital, and many older (pre-2010) active pens from tablet computers that have Wacom digitizers.
I have an old Toshiba pen from the 90's that works great.
A few things that won't work: any active pen/stylus that has a battery or needs recharging (except the newest S-Pens whch have built in batteries for Bluetooth only, the actual pen doesn't need need the battery); pens from Wacom Intuos, Cintiq, Bamboo, or MobileStudio devices; and pens from "One by Wacom" (different than "Wacom One" ?).
I confirm yes. I even use the spen of note 4 on tab s6!

I use my Note 10+ to take a lot of notes at work. And the spen is nice I am looking for a pen size stylus compatible with the Note 10+ and have not found one yet .. Any suggestions?
take the one that works with an tab s 3 4 6, they also work on note series (i tried. had an tab s6)
