Hey guys,
Im not allowed to post on the ROM thread. But i need help. I wanna have CM10 on my device which is a HTC sensation. I'v installed the 23 Sep update. Everything works fast. But when ever i open an app the animations are really choppy. You can actually see the frames. The ROM is great and fast but this low frame rate is annoying. I just wanna know the possible reasons or is it there in all CM10 sensation phones. And the update says Vsync and Triple Buffering enabled ;its even more annoying. Please Help.!!
P.S: Iv tried Sense 4 roms after flashing CM10 . Even Sense 3.6 roms. Animations work just fine. Its just with CM10 i face this problem.
Mine works fine, using cm-10-20120924-bruce2728-pyramid
Try downloading the Sep 24th version, backup anything you need backed up, then reboot into 4EXT recovery and format all partitions (excluding SDcard) from the wipe/format menu. After that is done, while still in recovery flash the cm-10-20120924-bruce2728-pyramid.zip file.
CM10 is snappier for me than any Sense ROM so this should fix the issue.
Thanks. But..

yeah man. Thats what i do every time. The ROM sure is fast. but the opening of apps animations is choppy for me. Even closing apps sometimes. Anyway il download the 24th sep build. Give it another shot. Thanks anyway.
Try today's test version with included new kernel!
9/24 build is running perfect no reboots, good battery life.
Bruce's J.b. 4.1.1
The only thing which I feel choppy in CM10 is still the flicking and scrolling up and down especially in a browser. However, the UI is smooth. Perhaps it'll still take a bit more time to reach fluidity for all apps running in CM10. By the way, I'm trying out the 24/9 build right now and there has been great improvements over the older builds.
Hmm

I did try out the 24/9 build . The animations were back to smooth. but then still scrolling through the app drawer isnt 60 fps by any means. even the fluidity while droping the notification menu is not perfect and pretty erratic. I mean isnt Vsync and triple buffering suposed to mean ultimate fluidity? or we arent experiencing because of the unavailiblity of proper graphics drivers? Is there a long way to go or is it near what jelly bean is on the GNex.

First off I want to say that I'm am not associated with Cyanogenmod in anyway. I merely created this thread because I did not see one like it here. To be clear, I did not write ANY of this code.
All credit to Cyanogenmod team and a huge thank you to gridlock32404 for his unofficial builds before the official nightlies are started.

I will try to keep this thread updated (maybe not EVERY day but as much as I can) as code is updated in preparation for Cyanogenmod 7. Please keep any discussions about the older nightlies in the other "CM Nightlies" topic. So with that, the current CM7 source build:

Rule of thumb: If you are having issues and haven't already, do a clean wipe. Please lets keep bug reports down to what is actually wrong and not issues caused by upgrading from stable, nightly, or and older source build to the newest source build.
Disclaimer: Flash at your own risk.
cant wait to try this out!
just saying, i read in a thread on CM forums that you need clockworkmod recovery 3. tried to install 2 different ones (including the unofficial official one that all the mods/well-known peeps at CM forums are running/developing) and kept getting bombarded by force closing upon startup. completely unusable. flashing new recovery now....hope that'll solve everything. also, the new rom supposedly has keyboard light and camera fixes. plus the cool screen on/off animation (i think the on part is custom).
drop the g1 & on with a droid 1...
Well I see that the nightly has been posted for a while so ill test it out and post a review of the latest build. Cm usually never disappoints so this build should have some nice perks.
A couple of notes...
The CM nightlies that just restarted a couple days ago are still Froyo builds. There is speculation that they are testing things out and GB builds will come within the next week.
CrackFlashers Build #46 is running great. I still lose data after phone calls (and maybe texts too, need to test that). That is the biggest problem right now. I can deal with the small problems (wonky accelerometer, questionable GPU performance, camera FC's).
Any observations as to how this compares with JeffV2 's rom over at DF? Im trying to decide which one to try
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/android-roms/110459-rom-gingerbread-update-zip-w-gapps-154.html
this is a nightly, more like a pure build. but i slightly edit the source, probably nothing noticeable just by looking at it though.

I agree, the post over at DF.net says that the gingerbread rom has gingerapps included in the rom.zip and also it shows a temp fix for the keyboard backlight. Are there any comparisons
Ok I see there is no major diference. Its jus the small things that changed between the two rom builds
I'm running #48 now, and it seems great but there are def some issues. The most notable one for me is the crappy market. It's old and has the same app missing problems as early froyo builds. Big misses include twitter and tweetdeck. Can I just flash any other gapps zip (like the CM one)? Or is there a different fix? Thanks.

Hi all!
Can somebody help me or show me how to port CyanogenMod v7 to Milestone?
As of #48 the camera doesn't work, force close. Keyboard doesn't light up. And the screen has a glitch where it won't come back on, not sure what causes it however. Going to flash #52 released today and see if it's any better.
*Edit*
#52
Bugs:
camera force closes
keyboard back light doesn't work
Works:
WiFi
GPS
Bluetooth
LED notifications

Thanks for this. I updated the OP.
54 is up, I'm hoping to get my wife's phone away from her so I can try this out tonight.
Yeah it's on my wife's phone too. Just installed #54.
#54
Bugs:
Camera force closes
No back light on the keyboard
Everything else is working. Wish it worked as nicely as #52 on my Inc, it's flawless with the exception of running video benchmarks. Seems the hardware acceleration for that is still missing.
Official Nightlies for CM7 just hit ROM Manager on my Inc. Can anyone confirm the same happen for Droid?
Yes. A CM7 nightly is up on ROM Manager for Droid. Downloading now.
I have been running the official nightly since i found out yesterday night, CAMERA WORKS!! (that was a huge deal breaker for me when it did not work) Data is still kinda strange sometimes it wont work even when i have NOT made a call or anything but it for sure does NOT work after a call. I pretty much love it hope for the little bugs will get fixed over time

I take no responsibility for any damage or injuries that result from installing this rom, nor the implosions / rips in the space-time continuum that this rom may or may not cause. bug reports are welcomed. specifically, is the radio working properly for you? this LiGux is from the maker of the Galaxy Ace port, and the base is cm 7.2.0, kernel is from EaglesBlood. Has the simple mobile / straight talk / t-mobile APNs already added and is set by default with the CyanBread theme. Any questions feel free to ask in thread or PM me
CHANGELOG:
0.1: Initial port, with stock CM kernel
0.2: Switched to EGB kernel, added wifi calling, made slight build.prop edits, added amazon app-store
0.3:~PLANNED~ ICS version port
Any screenshots?? Nd let me b the 1st to say thank yhu nd welcum!
Could we either get an update with WiFi calling added or a working zip for this particular rom? I have a zip but it wont connect and I even selected the correct apn as this one has straight talk and t mobile. I used the correct base band but WiFi calling just wont connect........ I'm loving this ROM, its always a breath of fresh air to play with something new
Thanks
update now out
This is what the OS looks like stock, not sure about this one, though.

It is very similar looking to the LG Optimus 3D and LG Thrill stock OS.

Installing now, will use whatever kernel you provided. You should really post some sort of changelog or a comprehensive list of features/add ons that either came stock with this ROM, or that you have done yourself.
I'm doing this blindly because I want to try it out, I don't see anyone else here who has tried it! haha.

Thank you for testing it, also providing the screenshots, only differences are the boot animation and the lock screen that comes stock. right now i'm working on a proper ICS port, this is still my alpha, i'll get right on making a passable change log!

So is this technically just a heavily themed CM7 version of the Ligux? Right now I have it sitting on the initial login screen, i'll let you know when I have everything running properly and whether or not it can be used with say the Morfic ELP kernel of the latest Faux 50b6 kernel.
Right off the bat; screen off animation is broken and the graphic doesn't work in the tradition "tv off" animation. Turn off the animation for now.
Signal acquired immediately, which is a good thing, using the stock kernel.
Scrolling through the menu options is a bit choppy, I just flashed with nothing else loaded on the phone, so I'm pretty sure it's the ROM.
I'll come back to this ROM when some things get sorted out, or when the true port in ICS happens.

I like a lot of sleek visuals, which I guess is why I like MIUI, second would be ICS, then CM7...I don't really care for stock GB ROMs, but they're the most stable so far for the new baseband.
Also, with the link that I provided for the stock Ligux images, is that what you're trying to do? The notification bar and the lock screen you're trying to port over to CM7, or do all of that with the actual ICS port?

yes, it is exactly that, the little "comic bubble" with options comes up when you tap in the top right corner, and it is designed for the New baseband already. if you want the v21e baseband support you must flash the old_radio.zip i put above

Oh how I hate the Phone.apk crashing on incoming call issues.
Camera doesn't work...same issue as what I had with lewaos port and mookeos port. Photos work fine but not video recording.

okay, 0.2.1 is coming from the samsung galaxy s 4g. but maybe i could get a little help with the phone.apk? Tried to use your LeWa as a base...didn't even crash...just...nothing?
Well with the camera I'm not sure, I didnt have problems, then they were reported, I did a new built where camera is working but I didnt upload it because of the Phone.apk When I used a previous once that works it bring some aesthetic bugs and FC, but I also noticed that livewallpaper support was not working, so I decided not to upload it as there was nothing new, not even new bugs.
With the camera, I'm not sure what is the isue, maybe the mediaprovider app? Check that out.

thanks for the advice, i'm trying with the ICS version however i am getting an issue with the port...not sure what it is yet...might have to make it 4.0.3 based instead of 4.0.4? but it may be a bit before i have anything worthy of release. right now i'm just working on trying to find a proper MIUI to try to put on top of the stock rom that boots...if that works i'll release it.
I have tried several ics roms and the Sense browser and Chrome are slow, take a long to load a page, white spaces while loading, fuzzy text while scrolling or pinch zooming... Everything ok with ginger roms
Is this a known issue with ics or am I doing something wrong?
It's ICS - needs a newer kernel to address these display issues.
Try JB - the stock browser is pretty good, though Chrome has problems.

If I'm correct there is also Webkit Hw acceleration which
cannot be enabled on ICS roms without some additional work on the
recently released kernel source.
also there are a lots of alternative browsers.
For Example:
Dolphin... ( especially the beta which is VERY fast)...
Opera.. Maxthon...
I Don't even use the stock one

Tried that setup and better than ics but still worse than gingerbread. Hope this week's kernel gives a clue to fix that
Its a common ICS problem. Its one of the things Google fixed in JB. No kernel or such will address this issues AFAIK. Sense ROms are already using the official kernel.
Try loading dailymail.co.uk on ICS, it will always lag. But on JB it is smooth. The same also applies to my Tab, so I don't think its a ds issue
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda premium
Seems it's about the opengl rendering enabled, tiles rendering etc in Android >=3 You can type about:debug in the url bar, then in options go to debug and uncheck enable opengl rendering. That will make the browser to behave like a gingerbread browser
The opengl gives smoothness on scrolling or zooming, but at the same time I think I browse faster with it disabled. Maybe out gpu is not fast enough?
Give it a try and comment...
Still slow with jb?

Thanks for the links. Wow! That's a lot of good stuff to look forward to. If the Devs can get all of those things working on a stable ROM for our Skyrocket there wont be a need to upgrade phones for quite a while. Cant wait. Thanks again.
You can download the 4.2 gapps now with the camera and the photosphere works (i should say "works"), the keyboard, and improved Google Now. The lockscreen widgets and other cool stuff will come when CM10 integrates 4.2 probably this week or next.

But if I do that wont it replace all of the working GAPPS? I also thought there was a problem with the new app sticking after a reboot. Can you selectively install the ones that are working or does it have to be all of 4.1 or all 4.2?

I guess you could extract what you want and sideload just the camera or something, but there is not any problem I'm aware of regarding the 4.2 gapps, except the camera has a LITTLE BIT of jank when it tries to save to the gallery. It still saves the picture, but it FC's sometimes. Again, it still saves the picture so you just have to reopen the camera to take another picture - and it's not by any means every time.
Is this the only issue with flashing the Gapps you linked? I'm on CM Nightly 10-20121221 for the Skyrocket. If I flash http://d-h.st/wBX, will the apps update like they regularly do, or will I need to do manual updates from then on? Just wondering.
Hello everybody! I would have asked these questions in the cm11 thread, but it seems I need to reach 10 posts to do that.
I am experiencing a rather unpleasant slowness regarding the launcher. I'm using galaxyfreak's build 4 of the ROM. Apps and games seem to run smoothly, but when dropping down the status bar or scrolling through the settings or contacts, it's not so smooth at all.
And I would also like to ask how do I activate ART?
I've changed the ro.config.low_ram thing to false, but it's still slow. It's better but it's still slowish.
CM9 and Sense 4 ROMs are buttery smooth but I enjoy having the latest version of Android.
I'm using a class 10 sd-card, by the way.

For ART goto settings>developer options>select runtime>art.
It's slow because of upstream changes. (not sure).
probably it will be fixed in beta 5
