Release / Update News for 4.14.2012
For this update I've resynced for new commits from the AOKP repo. The new build doesn't seem to crash often like the first build. However AOKP doesn't seem to like live wallpapers. I've just noticed that if you select a live wallpaper it will freeze after a while then you try to change the wallpaper to anything else the background of the launcher will remain black. This can be fixed by restarting the phone. Or it could be something that needs more testing.
I've added in the official boot animation but it doesn't seem to fit the screen perfectly. There was a similar issue with the first MIUI build. I'm still testing to see how well GPS actually works.
So this update seems to be really fast. It doesn't seem to crash or slow down like the first build.
-See how different wallpapers behave.
-Check ROM Control options (I saw some issues with the Navigation Bar settings. I think its a Team Kang issue.)
-Stay clear of the Start-up Scripts options. It doesn't work for now.
Other than that the ROM should be much more stable and faster than the previous release. Try and give me as much feedback as possible.

I only tried it out for a few minutes. There was no boot loop, and it seemed to run smoothly. Nice work.

Once I get to a desktop I'll upload some screenshots. Right now everything moves relatively smoothly but some bugs do exist. For example, spell check is not working right now and most words are considered mispelt. Also, the Play Store did not sync correctly and I had to download all apps manually rather than the automatic sync. Some usability bugs such as freezing screens do occur, but not enough to be a major nuisance. The special AOKP settings work fine. If you prefer the software buttons of the Galaxy Nexus they will work, although the action overflow button does not seem to show up in the bar and the physical menu button must be used. Backlighting on the keys works while the softkeys are enabled as well. I am yet to encounter any of the screen blowups Kemikal referred to in the OP. Benchmarks (for you benchmark nerds) will arrive with the screenshots.
Edit 1:Never mind about the later comments. Screenshots are attached.
Edit 2: Found the screen blowup in the battery portion of the settings. Music and mic are working.
Edit 3: Once the ROM seems to run for a couple hours without a boot or anything the system bogs down and system ui crashes occur at a relatively high frequency. Home screen redraws are more prevalent than Jocala's CM9 ROM.

I've noticed there is an issue with like a sleep of death where the screen stop working randomly except you can see what's on the screen during the CRT animation.
Gerrit style bug reporting. One person to report something another to review and confirm the issue. I didn't get much of a chance to test everything before I released it.
This is in Alpha stage so expect some bugs out of it. This is built from the same source as CM9 so in theory there should have been any other than a borked camera. Yet something must have messed up during the compile process and minor parts are broken. The touch drivers were half baked. I'm assuming from your reports that somethings also wrong with the dictionary files.
Some things haven't compiled properly and they cause issues.

Camera is bad from CM9 so its the same source so its broken here too. New thread so I haven't completed reviewing the bug list.
Also, The issue with your apps not auto-redownloading from the market is something I've seen on many different ROMs on many different devices. I have no idea what causes it. I believe its more of a universal issue for Google to address.

Thanks for working so hard for us in making this ROM. I think that if you can get everything working on this one, I might stray away from cm9. Big thank you to jocala as well.
Thus far, the main things that I have noticed issues with are as follows:
No notification for wifi networks,
Start up tweaks do not remain enabled,
Dictionary believes that no words except for a select few simple ones actually exist.
Automatic time zone thinks I am in the middle of the Pacific ocean instead of in Atlanta, GA.
There are some other assorted small things, but I'm more interested in helping you test out the major issues.
I have not yet tested the GPS. Work and sleep make spending the amount of time I want to on these things impossible. I hope that this info is helpful to you. And thanks again.

GPS seems to be a little inconsistent for me. When I first tried the GPS, I got an effective lock, but when I used it with Google Navigation later in the day, it didn't. Has anyone else had a GPS experience?

Yeah same here. First lock was set by GPS accurate to 20 meters. Second lock in different location was set by Network Triangulation, accurate to 40 meters. Maybe its just because I'm indoors. I'm expecting to release an update on Saturday. No word yet on what might be improved or fixed.

I had this same problem when flashing to a rom, and then going back to stock. I found this solution:
1) go to settings>applications>manage applications>all>google services framework>clear data also go to >all>market>clear cache and force close finally to all>market>clear cache and clear data then Reboot phone
2) Open and sign out of GTalk, then re-open and sign in.
3) Open Market and accept agreement. Let it load your apps. Close Market.
4) Go to market.android.com and sign in. Go to My Market Account>Settings tab>Edit>Nickname your phone and click Update.
5) try Installing application from market.android.com

Camera doesn't work on any of our ICS ROMs. We don't have the working drivers for it yet.

very good,great options in rom control.
i did have a glitch,and since you asked.....
whilst connected to wifi,and using opera mobile,and,big buttons keyboard,
i attempted to type in the embedded google search box.
this proceeded to cause opera to freeze.
whether opera,or,big buttons was the cause i can't say,but the rom did not seem to like this combo.

LOL I never thought my moms phone would be getting ICS I'll flash it on her phone in a bit!

I just flashed to this rom to try it out, runs great and has very cool controls. But I still prefer CM9 AOKP feels like a overly customizable launcher but still nice!

Could we either get an update with WiFi calling added or a working zip for this particular rom? I have a zip but it wont connect and I even selected the correct apn as this one has straight talk and t mobile. I used the correct base band but WiFi calling just wont connect........ I'm loving this ROM, its always a breath of fresh air to play with something new

Installing now, will use whatever kernel you provided. You should really post some sort of changelog or a comprehensive list of features/add ons that either came stock with this ROM, or that you have done yourself.
I'm doing this blindly because I want to try it out, I don't see anyone else here who has tried it! haha.

Thank you for testing it, also providing the screenshots, only differences are the boot animation and the lock screen that comes stock. right now i'm working on a proper ICS port, this is still my alpha, i'll get right on making a passable change log!

So is this technically just a heavily themed CM7 version of the Ligux? Right now I have it sitting on the initial login screen, i'll let you know when I have everything running properly and whether or not it can be used with say the Morfic ELP kernel of the latest Faux 50b6 kernel.
Right off the bat; screen off animation is broken and the graphic doesn't work in the tradition "tv off" animation. Turn off the animation for now.
Signal acquired immediately, which is a good thing, using the stock kernel.
Scrolling through the menu options is a bit choppy, I just flashed with nothing else loaded on the phone, so I'm pretty sure it's the ROM.
I'll come back to this ROM when some things get sorted out, or when the true port in ICS happens.

thank you very much, apparently when i modified the build.prop nothing got saved ^^; v 0.2.1 should be up in about 20 mins with those issues fixed, as well as ics messaging app.

I like a lot of sleek visuals, which I guess is why I like MIUI, second would be ICS, then CM7...I don't really care for stock GB ROMs, but they're the most stable so far for the new baseband.
Also, with the link that I provided for the stock Ligux images, is that what you're trying to do? The notification bar and the lock screen you're trying to port over to CM7, or do all of that with the actual ICS port?

yes, it is exactly that, the little "comic bubble" with options comes up when you tap in the top right corner, and it is designed for the New baseband already. if you want the v21e baseband support you must flash the old_radio.zip i put above

Whenever you're done with the new update I'll flash it, if it starts to STOP looking like the traditional CM7 I'll gladly run it for a while and see how it works out.

Oh how I hate the Phone.apk crashing on incoming call issues.

Camera doesn't work...same issue as what I had with lewaos port and mookeos port. Photos work fine but not video recording.

Well with the camera I'm not sure, I didnt have problems, then they were reported, I did a new built where camera is working but I didnt upload it because of the Phone.apk When I used a previous once that works it bring some aesthetic bugs and FC, but I also noticed that livewallpaper support was not working, so I decided not to upload it as there was nothing new, not even new bugs.
With the camera, I'm not sure what is the isue, maybe the mediaprovider app? Check that out.

thanks for the advice, i'm trying with the ICS version however i am getting an issue with the port...not sure what it is yet...might have to make it 4.0.3 based instead of 4.0.4? but it may be a bit before i have anything worthy of release. right now i'm just working on trying to find a proper MIUI to try to put on top of the stock rom that boots...if that works i'll release it.

note: when you first flash this and load it the first time, long press on screen and change wallpaper to a static one, instead of live wallpaper. live wallpapers are wonky on our devices, and will make graphical problems. everything else should be good to go, unless you want to flash gapps.

try messing with camera settings in camera app, i turned down the resolution from 5 mp to 2.5 and picture taking worked quicker and looked better in my opinion

long press home displays large previews, not sure why just yet

when you flash this, remember i did not sign it, so if your using clockworkmod recovery toggle signature verification
i recommend you go let this boot all the way, then reboot. then after that, go into settings-developer options, and click the tick box next to:
force gpu rendering
background process limit/ at most 4 processes
show all ANRs
and make sure animations are off
i turn off all vibration, except for notifications, that includes the keyboard as haptic feedback slows things down.
then use script manager to run zeppelinrox's v6 supercharger to bulletproof launcher

Update: It's pretty sweet but a bit below my minimum performance threshold Again great job, I can't even believe it runs at all!

Honeycomb lockscreen does not work at all. Just shows no form of unlocking the device. Other than that, great job!

sorry i havnt been around, no free time as of late. i plan on trying to fit in some time to help with the jelly bean project, so lets keep our fingers crossed for whomever creates the first source build.
minceman, thank you for trying it out. benjamingwynn has an excellent rom setup, and coupled with the work i did getting eligorom on our devices, it left me with a pretty good base rom for the port. unfortunately, ics is always going to be slower than gb on our devices, lol please yell at qualcomm for that if you would.
eggosevo, thanks for trying the rom out. the honeycomb lockscreen is just showing a blank screen for me too. im not sure what would fix this right off hand, but ill keep looking.

Unfortunately I would have to say no it doesn't fix the HQ issues. HQ is very choppy and wonky, so standard def is the way to go for now and probably the future for us.

also, which props are you talking about? am i missing something?
so here it goes guys. im out of the game for now. expect no new updates on the ics roms i have ported before. jb is the future, and shelnutt is the guy to get us into the future. ics roms never quite ran great anyway, so no big loss. i may pop back up in the future and throw down on some jb paranoidandroid, aokp, miui, or anything of the such, but i cannot guaruntee a thing. its been nice, but support for these roms stops here. (unless of course, anyone else would like to take these over for me, or i can get the guys from gsm hero using my allinone installer full time, then heroc will have everything they get)

I thought my subject line would indicate what my post was related to but incase that isn't the case the below two questions are related to the youtube fix in the OP.
I have two questions:
1) will this fix work for non AOKP ROMs as well as non 4.0 ROMs?
2) do I need to have the youtube app installed first and then flash the zip in the OP?

[PROJECT] HTC Sense camera/gallery on CyanogenMod/AOSP

First off, apologies if this is in the wrong subforum but I can't post to any of the development ones, due to this being my first post (on this account, I think I had an old account but I can't remember). So, hopefully I'm not doing this terribly wrong or anything. However, I do have something a bit interesting that I honestly didn't think would work: HTC Sense's camera and gallery working on CyanogenMod.
I've been wanting to switch back to CM for a while, since my old phone was a Galaxy Nexus. But, I didn't want to have to give up the camera features from HTC Sense. The camera on CM12 absolutely sucks when compared to the HTC Sense camera. I've been looking around for a solution, and every post I found said that getting the Sense camera/gallery to work on an AOSP-based ROM was impossible. I didn't believe that, so I tried getting it to work myself, and figured out that's not really true. None of the apps or libs were modified, they were simply pulled off the latest HTC Sense release.
Current usability
Camera app launches, you can take pictures (+ burst mode works). Gallery also is working mostly.
Current issues
These are still the issues I'm having. If anybody else could help me figure them out, I'd be really happy. I was able to figure out getting this running so far by using logcat.
- Video recording is stuck on very low video quality. MMS (176 x 144)
- Zoe camera is not usable (possibly because of above)
- Manual camera mode crashes the app
- Minor interface bugs
- Probably a lot more

I was totally unaware this was done already. Now if only someone could get BoomSound working, I'd be super-happy.

Is this list of apks/libs working for AOSP based marshmallow ROM? Like CM13 or Dirty Unicorn. HTC One M8 running Marshmallow with Sense 6 is not smooth enough for me. Really want to switch to ASOP based ROM but HTC Camera is too good to give up. Looking forward for some solution, that would be so awesome.

Amazing rom, the best lollipop I've ever tried for my one XL, especially with F2FS partitions!
However I've noticed the alarm volume for any app is set very, very low and there doesn't seem to be a way to change it

Newby question: Are the CM nightly updates included in the pac-rom nightlies or are they merged in on a larger time interval?
Edit: Or is each individual merge in CM carefully deliberated on a case-by-case basis for the pac-rom nightlies? <- I think it's this from what I'm reading between the two gerrits

Hi, I just flashed this coming from 4.4 Liberty Rom, in which i had working swipe to wake and double tap to wake feature. Is there any way I can install that on this rom?
Also, it seems that I have loose my root on this rom, should I do something special?

I've just flashed this ROM (pac_evita-lp-Nightly-20150503, clean install), and everything worked fine except for phone part. My phone doesn't receive incoming calls at all (it doesn't even show that somebody is calling). And I can make an outgoing call, but only once per boot. The dialer freezes when I try to terminate by pressing red button (the phone is working, but I can't use dialer until reboot). I've found similar problem in a thread (but in my case it's not sometimes, it's every time):

I've tried to apply this fix but it didn't help. I've changed hboot from 2.18 to 2.15 (just in case) but it didn't help either. My radio is 1.31a.32.45.16_2

1. whenever i open clock ->settings-> widget settings It says activity not found as a toast message.
2. neither the digital clock widget nor the notification bar are able to display the weather.

On the official ROM (pac_evita_LP-MR1.Beta-1.Official_20150517-005227.zip ) - seems as though there is no widget for the day/time Clock. When clicking Widget settings in Clock, it says: "Activity not found!".
Otherwise, everything seems to work & very nice & smooth.

20150524-212050 is all good, just miss the thin battery charging animation in status bar. I had it in 5.0.x, can't find it now.
Also, the FM Radio app always leaves the "FM is turned off" text onscreen unless scrolling text covers it. Does this occur on the original hardware?

Weather has not worked for me on lollipop. XWidgets weather works...

I don't know if this is rom specific, but where can I disable keyboard vibration for the lollipop keyboard?
This ROM is so much faster than CM12.1, CM is unable slow.

thank you very much for your work, this ROM is pretty damn fast! It feels like I bought me a new phone.
Although this is my second custom firmware , so it may be a subjective opinion. Tried MIUI 4.1.1 (the latest I found in Russian). God, it's so slooow.
The minor issue is that dialing fast numbers from the main dial screen lags a bit, but I can live with that.
And the major flaw is the battery time. It wasn't great with the stock ROM, but again the battery itself is 2 years old.
Actually with this ROM I can use my phone as a mobile heater when using LTE or Wi-Fi. The power draw is critical. It won't last half a day when actively used. Battery Doctor and Clean Master are being used. Autostart is modified, some stock apps killed.
Is there a way to vastly optimise a battery consumption? Maybe another radio module firmware or something?

AT&T HTC one X. LP-MR1 Beta-1 Official build 5/24/15. Camera app can take pictures, but I can't record videos, stock Camera app and Open Camera.
I've reset the phone, clean installed, tried different photo apps. Open Camera actually says "Failed to record video". Anyone else have this issue?

Phone loses network constantly, have to switch to airplane mode and back.
