Please * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM * before flashing it! Here comes the root for the Nabi 2 and how to install fully work GApps.
You must have a basic working knowledge of adb and have it installed. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1590800
Also ensure you have fastboot installed and working

will do, grabbed it from her for a few secs to verify it is seen as an ADB device.
EDIT>> IT WAs seen as ADB device.

Tried it, works!
So pleased to have full root and Play Store!
My Nabi 2 had the android update and the root ran with lots of errors, but I have already installed an app from the Play Store ( Titanium Backup free ) and am running it now....
Now to see if I can get GL to SD to run, and then get a 32GB MicroSDHC card...
Sigh...
I am so sorry, I forgot to say THANKS! Mad props! If I wasn't so broke ( can't even pay my bills right now ) I would definitely donate...
But..
You made poor me SO HAPPY!

Worked prefect for me as well. She is going to be happy her missing apps\games are back. Titianium restored her progress on games from her Nabi1, worked like a champ.
Thanks again.

I tried it a couple of times last night and had to end up doing a recover to get my apps back. Did any of you that successfully rooted your nabi do the software update? Just think they might have changed something in the update to fix the root exploit. If anyone else is able to get their nabi rooted could you please post your log from Bin4ry's program.

Doing a reboot a couple times brings your apps back. It will error out throughout the process. But at the end will say successful. If it doesnt first try reboot a couple times to get your data back then try again. I am not the creator of the exploit as I noted so it might be better to ask bin4ry. But I have 2 nabi's and this worked on both. Before and after update. I did have to reroot after update though

I just worry about breaking the monarch ui. My kid is 2-1/2 so I don't want her with a full cm10, yet.
My only experience is abd stuff and a little small tiny bit of theming for htc sense using the kitchen. Modding the settings menu just sounds so much harder. Or should I say so much easier to mess something up bad.

My kid was under 1 year when we gave it to her. But in the beginning it was more start something for her and hand it over, now at 18months she knows how to take it off the charger and use it all on her own.
13 months is PERFECT get them started young, they need all the advantages they can get.

[ROM]PORT-NEW LUNA CM 6.0 for the MESMERIZE!!

I HAVE BEEN WORKING VERY HARD THE LAST WEEK TO GET THIS OUT TO YOU ALL AS A X-MAS PRESENT HERE YOU GO...
This is a port that I really like in all respects its Cynaogen 6.0 that I ported to the MESMERIZE it has a BLUE and BLACK splash/moon Theme. This is just the first of many to come from me....I found it here>http://luna.anthemofthesun.com/
This is based on JT's Clean Rom and has no Kernel attached you will not loose anything you have installed and AS ALWAYS DO A NAN-DROID BACKUP FIRST BEFORE YOU FLASH...This has only been tested on a voodoo kernel and has not had any issues if you find any please let me know ASAP as I have tested everything I can...
IMPORTANT>12/24/10: MAY BE AN ISSUE GOING FROM PICK-N-PACK TO THESE I WILL SEE FOR NOW FLASH CLEAN 2 AND THEN VOODOO IF YOU ARE RUNNING VOODOO AND REBOOT THEN FLASH THIS AS IT IS BUILT OFF OF THE CLEAN ROM>>>IF YOU ARE NONVOODOO AND PICK-N-PACK JUST FLASH CLEAN 2 AND REBOOT AND THEN FLASH THIS AS I KNOW THIS WORKS AND FIRST BOOT TAKES A MIN. BE PATIENT HANGS FOR A MIN OR MORE MAKE SURE YOU REBOOT BETWEEN FLASHES....IF YOU ARE VOODOO YOU HAVE TO FLASH KERNEL OVER TOP OF CLEAN 2 BECAUSE THAT ONE HAS A NONVOODOO IN IT AND WILL MESS WITH YA IF YOU DONT YOU CAN DO THOSE 2 AT SAME TIME JUST DO THE KERNEL LAST AND YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO DISABLE LAG FIX AND YOU WILL BE FINE THAT WAY....THIS IS ONLY IF YOU ARE PICK-N-PACK THAT THIS APPLIES FOR NOW TO BE SAFE......UPDATE>12/25/10: PICK-N-PACK IS OK TO USE BUT EVERYTHING ABOUT THE FLASHING OF A NONVOODOO OVER VOODOO STILL AND ALWAYS WILL APPLY.
INSTALL NOTE:TO PUT ON SD AND FLASH THRU CLOCKWORK-MOD RECOVERY NOT ROM MANAGER....DO A DALVIK CACHE WIPE AND THAT IT FLASH FROM SD AND REBOOT...FIRST BOOT TAKES A MIN OTHERS WILL BE NORMAL...

While they're fixing it I'm using a different theme/ROM.
My signature gives links. I love this theme (in this thread) I just want the MMS to work. I send 10-20 pics a day, so I kinda need it.
This is not a rom, just a theme.

Tried to boot to this ROM...got to the splash screen and hung there forever....looked like it was in a boot loop. Tried flashing it twice...same thing.
Lesson learned.

This is not true, the SECOND link the OP gave is a .ZIP that includes a fully functioning ROM that is themed as shown in ADW. I just flashed this onto my new mesmerize last night and it worked wonderfully (after a learning process that I'll detail below). you may have clicked the first link that simply links to the page about the "luna theme" itself
I'd like to share an experience I had last night trying this process so that others may be informed prior to trying this.
I rooted my phone with Z4 root a few days ago, and also installed the Voodoo kernel with the lag fix. This was all I had done to the phone prior to finding this post and deciding to try out the ROM.
First attempt I followed the instructions well but for whatever reason I completely forgot to disable the lag fix and clearing the cache, so I went right into recovery mode and tried installing this .ZIP from the SD card.
The process was successful so I rebooted. I had the problem i4get75 has, it hung on the splash screen forever, and I instinctively "freaked out", pulled the battery and reverted back to my stock rom (using recovery).
Going back through the instructions I knew right away what I did and so I went ahead and disabled the lagfix through recovery mode (go to Voodoo, then disable) Then after reboot i again skipped a step and went straight to flashing again, after that succeeded I realised i forgot to wipe the cache so I went ahead and cleared the cache and flashed it one last time.
After that the phone booted, hung on the samsung screen for a few mins, then like magic the beautiful luna themed ADW popped up.
For some reason when I reverted back through recovery though, after boot i was missing many apps including the marketplace and my file manager, I'm not sure how this happened but thank god you had a file manager in your rom or I'm not sure how i would have gotten market and my other apps back on there (I'm really new to flashing and working with android, my first smartphone was the Motorola Q, didn't have this problem). In the end I was able to reinstall titanium backup from my SD card and restored them from there since the phone kept the backups
Many thanks to androidman78 and JT and all others involved for your time and talent!
I guess why I feel that this is just a Theme and not a ROM is that when I finally got it working I was seeing all my other apps and even my same wallpaper I had before the flash. To me, that's not a ROM but just a theme.

#1 - did you download the FULL rom? or just a theme
#2 - did you do a FULL wipe? if not then you need to do it right... do a full wipe then flash the rom, not the theme.

ClockworkMod Recovery [For Motorola Triumph]

Wondering if we can get any port help on this from anybody skilled in this area??? The phone is going to have a great community and growing in numbers as we speak. We already have people wanting to dev for the phone, but we need a custom recovery. Now we dont know if the phone is encrypted locked bootloader but it doest ship stock android froyo 2.2.2 so maybe its just locked? I have read that you can get to the bootloader by just vol down + power button combo hold.

So, I successfully loaded and booted into CWM v4.0.0.9. I was able to successfully complete a system backup. I would test out a ROM, however I'm not aware of any ROMs for the Triumph yet. I tried to mount /storage, nothing happened. Tried to mount USB storage, got the following error:
E:Unable to open ums lunfile (No such file or directory)
Also, I have the following two questions:
1) After my first boot into CWM, I saw the following below the menu options:
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
2) During my backup, the following was displayed:
No sd-ext found. Skipping backup of sd-ext.
Thoughts?

1. I think its normal when its still unofficial n has some few features not yet working. but other working features seems going normal with that error
2. its because your sdcard not partitioned into sd-ext for app2sd, but i think its not necessary to app2sd in this phone

the bulk of my backup is the data partition which was over 400mb. i extracted it and it looks to include dalvik cache so you might try clearing your dalvik before doing a backup. i dont know why youre over 1 gig tho, unless you have like 700+mb of apps installed

Any reason this stuff isn't in the android development section of the triumph forum? It's a ghost town over there. CWM has been around for a while for the triumph, but still hasn't made an appearance in the android development subsection. I thought posting the CWM files/how to would be a good first step, and posting a disclaimer listing the known non-working portions. That way potential devs browsing will find/see it, and hopefully participate.
I didn't want to overstep my boundaries.

There's nothing to post in the development because theres no development going on! cm7 not fully fuctional, Motorola hasnt released sources(and they havent gave a ET) And people are having problems with the triumph and people are being skeptical about buying this device. I got one and had the battery fry my internals and phone wouldnt even turn on! So im going to wait and see what the triumph progress.

When i meant no development having isaac work on cm7 is great work but thats the ONLY thing going on at the moment! Even any other triumph forum you go the phone hasnt boom because of motorola not releasing sources! NO sources, NO development, NO FULLY working cm7(radio)
As far as my situation not bashing the phone, im actually waiting til all their first shipment are gone and second round of shipment comes probably within the next month!

[ROM] MIUI-2.8.17 JB Grouper v0.1 Alpha By Jmotyka and DroidVicious

[ROM]MIUI-2.8.17 JB Grouper v0.1 Alpha By Jmotyka and Droid_Vicious!
EDIT: This is going to be a co-development by me and droid_vicious. He is working his magic now.
Let me introduce myself. I'm jmotyka and im no developer, i am a graphic designer and android themer/enthusiast. I used to be a well known themer for the Nexus One and worked along side of Manup456. I have been out of the theming and developing seen for a while until now, i am very rusty. This is my first step into the android world again. I have many friends/devs that will help out when needed. I am a very busy man i dont have much time to develop, so please bare with me if i go on a multi-day hiatus. This rom is not and will not be my priority. I expect people to show some respect to me and others in this thread. If there is any sign of flamage in this thread rom development will immediately be halted and removed.

Instructions:
1. Copy the rom - to SD Card
2. Boot into CWM and do a backup of your current rom
3. Flash the rom
4. Skip recovery flash!(after flashing the rom CWM will prompt you with the option to flash or skip. SKIP!!!!
5. Flash Grouper Gapps
6. Wipe Data
7. Reboot and DERP
Working:
Everything as far as i can tell.
Not Working:
Dont know yet, but everything seems to be fine as of right now
TODO List:
1; Remove Recovery
2. Finish English Translations
3. Add Reboot Menu
4. Add Custom Kernel
5. Find the best DPI for the rom and device.
Notes:
This rom actually comes from china. The only thing i did was change some build.prop stuff to get it functioning. To start off for some odd reason who ever developed the rom in china left the DPI to 310 and it looked horrible, so i set it to 213 which is the groupers standard dpi, it looked much better but the drop down notification window was getting cut off, so i decided to set it to 240 which looks great IMHO. This is by far not the final product. I am by no means a skilled developer but i am a tinkerer and if i run into issues usually i can fix them.
Important Notes
1)This rom for what ever reason has a recovery baked in. I recommend running cwm because cwm will let you SKIP the recovery flashing. I have not had time to remove this yet but i will. DONT ACCEPT THE RECOVERY FLASH BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW IF ITS OK OR NOT. I don't see why it would be a problem because this rom was developed for the N7.
2)I AM NOT TO BLAME IF YOU FLASH THIS AND YOU NEXUS 7 BLOWS UP. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED

So is this like a big Galaxy Nexus edition of MIUI or was this tailored to Nexus 7?

Anyone else flashed this yet? I was waiting for MIUI to become available before I rooted my Nexus 7.

Running great for me. I froze the dialer and the Chinese app store and its running smooth. Lock screen is huge and keyboard runs in phone mode, but I'm finding it easier to type on than stock.

What does that mean? Is that a good or bad thing? Screenshot please?
Also I noticed in the first screenshot it says "No service" at the top left corner. Does it always say that? Can that be removed and/or edited? Thanks!
I am kind of reluctant to root my Nexus 7 because I don't know if I can still receive official Google updates on Android if I root it or if I can even unroot it.
Sure
Fills the screen but does not overlap.
Here's a screen of the keyboard.
Regarding your other concerns I would say go ahead and root. With the toolkits available it is very easy to flash back to stock, unroot, and relock the bootloader if needed.

Thanks! I'm going to take a deep breath, root my Nexus 7 now and flash MIUI
Working on v0.2 right now. It will have the recovery removed. And it will be in english by default. Super user will replace permission manager. Hold tight.

OK Im out and about. The build is finished. I just gotta test it when I get home. Thank you for being patient!
What's new:
Completely deodexed
Removed recovery
Added super user

Top secret butter recipe
Obviously you can't text or use phone so don't even try, but other than that every thing will be gravy.
Also be sure to thank droidvicious for working on a ROM that he doesn't even have a device for.
Thanks for the help. I now have English.
But, I think I lost root.Rom manager hangs with error as does Titanium. I tried to get back to cwm but for the life of me I cannot boot back into it. If I could I would fix permissions there. But again. I may have lost root?
Fixed. Went to permission mgr and all seems to be good again.
OMG you are the most amazing person every. I love you (No Homo)
If you need help with something such as default language english and all that stuff i can help out. Also you can change the size to stock by modding the services.jar and androidpolicy.jar file. Im going to expiriment a bit, thanks so much again.
Edit
You are so amazing, i noticed you are using mediafire? If you want the next build you can send it to me and i can upload it to my site for direct download links. I have unlimited bandwidth so its no problem for me.
thanks for creating a v0.2 so efficiently, the recovery issue has been driving me crazy the past few hours!
Hyperrunner is here? If he starts helping out with this ROM, I might forget all my issues with MIUI and run this exclusively! I'm definitely gonna be keeping a close eye on this thread

[Discussion] The Itch *Flashaholic*

So tell me guys, what do you do when you guys get the "itch" of flashing a new ROM?
I try to resist of flashing a new ROM every single day, so what I do to suppress this itch is I take my friends phone and flash a ROM on it
Delete xda app for a week
I flash if I wanna flash, have a beer if I want a beer, load a bowl if I wanna puff, swear if I wanna swear. I could go on but you get the idea. If you wanna do it just do it. But I do like the idea of flashing other peoples phones. I could triple my flashing rate. lol

In the middle of the night while I was sleeping and dreaming of a actress most of you wouldnt know who she was, I get woke up with a panic call from said friend because the phone wouldnt send texts...they rebooted and all was fine. Like I said never again.
Flash when you get an update or aren't satisfied.
I am quite satisfied with the latest CM9 so I don't flash unless it is an update.

But if you don't flash every ROM your never know if your "satisfied" with an inferior ROM. I love AOKP but I still flash every ROM that gets posted for this phone. I find myself going back to AOKP more often than not because it suites my taste and style. But by flashing other things I can honestly say that it's my preference. To me it's a way of eliminating ignorance.

That's me. I like Remics. I like the touchwiz interface and the Samsung feel to it. Others don't, that's their choice, but I do. I keep trying new ROM's but don't like the interface or launcher or look of it and go back to Remics everytime.

If you guys are flashing all the time, do you actually *use* your phones?
Just curious. Takes me a couple of hours to get everything back the way I had it... the OP sounds like he wants to flash something every day. lol
My wife's phone I rooted and removed most of the bloatware and that's all she wants me to do and that's all *I* want to do to it.

Usually the best thing in this case is to have a daily phone and a second phone to do the flashing on. Once I found a favorite rom that works best for me I stop flashing frequently except updates of the rom. It's also easier when you have a rom that support multiple devices that you own.

uh oh. I think I just bricked my m8

So, I ran firewater and wanted to get to recovery. I ran the adb command "adb boot recovery" and I get a screen with a phone with a red triangle and exclamation point in the middle. Is there a way out of this?
Please help.
That's just the stock recovery. Hold the power button down until the device reboots.
I held vol up and power and got out of it. phew. thx

I'm not giving him hell..
I just feel if you are going to risk bricking your phone, you should at least know what the stock recovery looks like so we don't get cluttered with threads about people thinking they "bricked" their phone when it is on....
a brick means just that, it's a brick.
doesn't turn on, doesn't charge, notta.
I am glad the OP got his phone working though.
I just feel that S-OFF is very dangerous and I think people need to do some more research before diving in.. If you can't tell the difference between a stock recovery and a brick.. well - IMHO you shouldn't be S-OFF yet.
I am entitled to my opinion. But in no way was I giving him hell nor looking down on him, he created the thread, I gave an opinion; this is a forum after all.

I agree with you. Why do you guys think its called a "brick"?! If someone does not understand basic concepts like adb, flashing, and bricks, they should not be trying to s-off their phone.

To many noobs.. We were all once. Been doing this for a few years. Just tried to upload a CWM backup and couldn't. Didn't realize I had to zip it first. I've done things much more complicated but couldn't do that. We'll all be noobs at something, no matter what. XDA is for noobs as much as for anyone else. Noob.. What a funny word anyway lol.
