Problem- process keeps on force quiting - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i dont know why but all of a sudden every few minutes when i use the tablet it will all of a sudden freeze and the error "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped" i am just on stock rooted and i didnt change any system files around. it doesnt seem to have any effect outside of the freeze, but its still really annoying. any ideas short of doing a factory reset?

Hi, i started getting with with the team alliance ROM, factory reset and clear Dalvik, came back after a while. Switched to latest rooted stock, same as you, started getting it again. Seems to be a bit random, haven't been able to tie it to anything specific and luckily it doesnt happen that often at all.

Sense Keeps Force Closing

Just today I was checking my email when Sense force closed on me. After that, it force closed on me every few minutes or so. I cleared data and it just force closed on me again. Not sure why all of a sudden this started happening. I havent installed any apps since yesterday. This morning it wasnt doing it, just all of a sudden started doing it. Anyone else experiencing this? My next step would be to do a master reset but really dont feel like setting my phone up again since we dont have root and cant do titanium backups
Have you tried uninstalling the last app or two that you installed? I also assume that you tried restarting the device too?

Mine does this too. I noticed that it happens more often when it's hot where your at. I work outside and get lot of force closes but at soon as I get home where its cool I don't get any Force closes. I guess heat isn't good on the sensation.
I get it a lot too. Even with the 2nd phone. The first one was just Force close GALORE. The 2nd phone Force close a lot to. I hate it also tried a factory reset fine for about 24 hours them back to the same thing. Sense also loads way to often,

Google services framework force close.

So I just rooted my charge and I've got gummy charged rom, and an overclock kernel. Every 30 seconds or so I get a force close that says:
Sorry!
Google services framework (process com.google.process.gapps.) has stopped working. Please try again later.
Anybody got any idea on what to do?
And thanks to everyone who's been a huge help. I love this forum.

Did you restore anything with TiBu? I was getting this error when I restored some system settings, even the ones that are green. Try doing a factory reset (clear data and cache) and see if your problems go away. Then be careful in what you restore back to the device.
Before doing this make sure you have a backup.
Quick Tip: Sometimes the PIN unlock (I haven't tried any others) might go into an infinite loop and lock you out until you do another factory reset, but it only happens after restoring some system settings. I'm thinking it was the bluetooth settings that caused this, and this one in particular doesn't seem to mesh well between stock (even stock based) ROMs and ROMs that have been replaced with AOSP apps like GummyCharged.

Apps Close Frequently

I've recently been having all apps on my phone close frequently. No error messages or anything, just close back to the home app (which happens to be repopulating widgets and such suggesting that it was closed too). For the life of me I can't figure out what is wrong. Once I see it happens I know my phone is unusable except for the basics until I reset it. At first it was mildly annoying, but it has been happening faster and faster after each reset. First a reset grabbed me a few days, now only about 4 hours. I tried a factory reset but it was only mildly better. Finally in desperation I tried using mattlgroff's "DROID RAZR HD Utility" to reflash stock, but that only bought me a week and a half.
Does anyone know what might have caused this? The only significant mod I made to my phone was rooting it while it was new to use Titanium, then I unrooted it and it was fine for several months after. I can't think of anything I had done outside my normal use before it started. I tried looking at logcat but I wasn't very good at sorting though it. Found the lines stating the apps were closed/services were restarting, but nothing else looked abnormal to me.
Sounds like a hardware issue.
Try a safe boot
Power up
At the appearance of the bootlogo, big m or warning, press & hold the vol down all the way home.

S6 lagging, freezing, rebooting (Gmaps)

Hi folks,
I am having problems with my S6 G920-F.
Whenever I open Google Maps, the phone starts to lag, freeze and eventually it needs to be rebooted by hard reset. Also the font just goes nuts and characters are gone missing ht*p://s12.postimg.org/m5c6mejwd/Screenshot_2015_11_20_21_25_52.png
I was running on Android 5.0.2, then recently upgraded to 5.1.1 but no improvements so far. Did a factory reset a couple of times, booted in safe mode, but the problem keeps on appearing.
Any ideas what else to try, or no choice and send it to customer service?
Thank you very much.

Did you do a factory reset from Recovery Mode? If not, do so.
yes I did the factory reset from recovery mode, and the same error kept on appearing...

[Q] Many problems with new s6

So I bought the S6, new, never been opened, sealed etc, let it charge the proceeded to turn it on. Then comes the welcome bit and startup, this is where it went tits up. Apparently everything stopped responding, google maps stopped responding, voice commands stopped responding, etc. Thought nothing of it, skipped through everything, got into home screen and then "Touchwiz has stopped responding". So naturally I though oh dear. Oh, it also started restarting on it's own randomly as well, I tried booting in safe mode, disabling things, that didn't work, sometimes it would even get in a bootloop, loop 3 times and then start.
I tried updating it, didn't work, tried flashing it with "G920FXXU3QOLD_G920FH3G3QOJ1_G920FXXU3QOJB_HOME", problems still persist. It's currently on 5.1.1, it wont update in settings, just starts downloading more than 1.2gb's of downloads then says "Software update has stopped responding".
Tried samsungs live chat, was awful, they didn't present any useful information.
I'm wondering if it's just 5.1.1 being awful, because when I boot to the system recovery menu thing where it has the blue screen with android logo, then has yellow exclamation mark, that doesn't reboot on it's own at all. Never reboots in download mode either. Phone is not rooted, knox hasn't been tripped or anything, so I'm left clueless. What do I do? Bought this phone, what, 4 days ago ish. Came here yesterday. My question is, if I flash it with idk, a 6.0.1 update in odin or something, will that fix the problems?
Hi,
It seems to me that you have a defective device, you can either try reflashing the stock firmware and then factory resetting, I believe that it really is a software issue, but as it's brand new (as you stated), you can return it to the store and get another one.
There are quite a few guides to flashing stock firmware back, hope you can do it .
All the best,
~Lord
