we will go and buy the device right NOW...

to avoid bouncing the donations from various accounts, and incurring the un-necessary charges/overheads, here is wht i suggest/recommend:

the domestic (Indian) user can directly contact Napstar via p.m., he will provide u his account details and then u can send in the donations via NEFT bank transfer (i think this is the fastest way and can be done via online banking for most indian banks)

i was contacted by a few users from ur community (mainly vishal24387) with a request to develop for ur device [SGS-SL]... u guys might remember me from a few weeks (months?) back when i was requested to help out with USB-OTG, sadly that didnt work out since i didnt have device to do testing on
so we (Team UtterChaos) would like to know if the user community for this device is interested in donating a device to us for development... this is not for USB-OTG BUT for general kernel development for this device...... Team UtterChaos currently consists of me and my dear friend Napstar and both of us are from Pune, Maharashtra, India...
additionally let me make this clear... we want a working device... you guys can work out a way to raise funds for this and send us a working device...
remember i am only posting here since the users from your community have approached and requested me to do so...
i mostly develop for Xperia devices (x10, Arc, Play, etc...) and personally have a Xperia X10 & Xperia ARC... i recently received Xperia Play as a donation from that community to work on that device... i mostly work on kernels and some fun stuff (dualboot, modified recovery, bootmanager, lots of tools, etc)... i will soon be getting a HTC Flyer for personal use/development... if u want to know wht all i have created/done/played with u can check the list of threads:

To all i9003 members
Only CM7 or CF root is not enough guys. Porting mods, themes can be done at any time guys but we all know that we really require a great kernel developer who will develop great kernels which will make phone snappier like never before. In galaxy S2 or Galaxy S section you will see lots of custom kernal which is made by them. In older days we had skin but now really we need to take major step guys for our phone. Codeworkx already said that once ICS will release all he will completely pay attention to GALAXY S & S2 phone. Then again we will be alone with our phone for long time. So guys please dont be restrict yourself upto some themes or mods. Dont make urself busy with new officially roms released by samsung. They can deeply reviewed by us later. But right now donation & more important KERNAL development is more necessary.
I just want that u have to just donate a very small amount say like 200-300 Rs (5-6 $ USD) which we usually spend on some non-important things. If we donate today it will refund us in form of high level kernal development. So please I again & again requesting u to take some initiative. No other developer will come to help us. Unless & until they have phone in hand no developer can develop kernal virtually for our phone. THINK GUYS SERIOUSLY ABOUT THIS PLEASE .

Cool down, I did read the OP and I still confirm what I wrote. If Napster wants to develop on this device, he might consider to help codeworkx as well, I don't see any conflict in this. And I am sure that most people here would be happy to donate if this leads to a stable CM.
Do you understand now? or do I need to better explain my concept?

ya, obviously Napster will provide many things other than the USB OTG if he has our device on hands. Hopefully he and Doomlord will make I9003 development better and better. Before that, we need to consider donating in order to get the device. I am so happy because there are a lot of efforts showed to make things better for us and our beloved I9003!

I also would donate. I think this is a very good idea, and we must do it. How many people would donate for this proyect? It would be a great idea to make a list and count participants, and that would make people be more sure about the proposition....

That's about 220 €, no? Codeworkx's one was new and costed 250 (the biggest part of the donation came from Europe). At this price I'd prefer donating for a new one.

Agreed, if the device is in good condition. As of today device cost is Rs 17000 and 10500 is a good price.

y u had to create a thread for it? could have asked in the donation thread itself!!
anyways, just go the bank branch of the account to which you want to donate.
eg: if the person u want to donate to has a SBI bank account then u go to a SBI bank.
there will be a deposit slip in the bank, fill in the details of the acc and ur amount. give it to the cash counter. collect ur cut slip.and DONE!
edit: assuming you want to donate to a person within india

I created a new thread so that people facing same problem like me can get help........this question will help to maintain development area clean.....no new person will ask donation question in each donation thread....its not for me its for every one

It's even cheaper for a used one in great condition, around $240 on Craigslist.

As long as the phone is fully functional so I can test everything then the phone can be used...just make sure it isn't blacklisted so I can fix wifi calling and the apn issue.
I have an s2 for personal use so this phone would be a dev phone
Last time I got a phone donated the users sent me the money bc I had a deal with another user to buy his phone it was all done publicly so the community can see. I say the cheapest/safest way to get it would be ebay because it has some guarantee that if the product doesn't work then you can open a case with PayPal

See that the #1 question. I have PayPal and have no problem doing so, but sure other people do to. Its either gunna have to be someone with the most posts and thanked (which isn't me)
But me personally I would feel most comfretable with erikmm doing it. But if he doesn't want to or if you guys don't trust him why would you trust someone else?
Either way were gunna have to do a tally for who is willing to pitch in and how much. Just don't be shaddy and back out cause that will get us nowhere

Or I could ship to someone else who is willing to list it and sell it and them give you the proceeds.
I think its worth around $70 or so.
I just don't have the time to list it and sell it and do all that stuff... but I cold easily just ship it. Thoughts?

but sounds great if someone could put it up, I've been looking for work lately and school those two things take up my time and free time goes to deving thanks man hopefully we get an awesome guy willing to put it for sale

I really like the work erikmm has done for our phone. I dont think anyone else has made an actual working rom with such few issues for our phone. I think getting him a phone so he can help our community would be a huge asset, and im willing to donate also. I dont want to see this phone get left behind, and I do miss flashing different roms like I did with my Vibrant.

Trust me the work has not stopped. We have been trying various ports over the last few weeks. Erikm and I have been trying but without the phone his efforts are limited. Hopefully he gets the device and then things will start rolling

Because thewhisp don't have the device he cant give us frequent updates and bug fixes
so please guys tell how much you can donate to thewhisp and then we will calculate that are we able to reach the goal to buy dev our device

Well, it costs about 140EUR here. Everything is kind of expensive in Latvia. But if you want to donate, it's currently only possible through PayPal. I do not have credit cards or anything like that. I would, however, help TheWhisp to buy one SGAP. I could open a paypal account, and upload online money. But I do not know how to make money since they do not work because they are not of age, I could try to earn through advertising but do not know if it works. Recommended if you want some method that you know. Thank you.

AND WHERE ARE THOSE PEOPLE WHO ALWAYS DEMAND FOR LATEST BUILD AND LATEST KERNEL
THEY JUST WANT TO LEACH EVERYTHING WITHOUT GIVING ANYTHING

Though it is a bit disappointing, the lack of contributors is understandable. Most of the owners of ace plus seem to be students who got it because it was cheap. People who work would've probably ditched this phone and purchased a better device.
How sad it is that all we can do is to keep our fingers crossed and just hope for TheWhisp to continue with the development without even having the phone.

Though it is a bit disappointing, the lack of contributors is understandable. Most of the owners of ace plus seem to be students who got it because it was cheap. People who work would've probably ditched this phone and purchased a better device.
How sad it is that all we can do is to keep our fingers crossed and just hope for TheWhisp to continue with the development without even having the phone.

Yeah youre right dude, like me my ace plus was my fathers old phone. I want an advance android device but i cant afford to buy a new one.
I want to contribute for the development coz i want my phone to have an advance feature too but i dont have a.............. in my pocket

Let's start a bounty for LineageOS Oreo. We already have stable Nougat so hopefully this will motivate people to start on it.
Requirements:
- Post in this thread a proof with screenshots.
- Provide a step by step instructions so others can benefit.
- I will be testing myself to verify that all is working.
- Claim your bounty via PM from pledger(s)
I will post the name of the dev who comes up with the solution. I will also notify all the users who pledged via mention to remind them to pay.
Donations will be deposited directly to the DEV that comes up with a proven working ROM. Payment will be processed between each member and the bounty collector via PM on an individual basis.
Please keep this thread clean and on topic. Share with developers that you know. I will do my best to keep this thread up-to-date.

Because i dont want to and have only3 gigs of RAM and dont look forward to build for this phone. Even then i wouldnt charge for it since it's illegal lol
