Maybe JB is released to solve brick bug present in ICS for these devices...
This may answer why ICS hasn't officially been released yet for 3 months in many regions (including mine).
Yeah, I do hope that brick bug gets fixed. Although there was a fix found for that as I remember. It was posted around the forums.
I really hope this will fix the major Bluetooth issue with the ICS version of this tablet!

Then it would cost them a lot of bricked devices due to broken recovery in ics
I hope they are in hurry to fix that in order to reduce the number of RMA requests due to hard brick while resetting to factory default
Since Samsung is already putting out test releases of 4.1 JB for the P3100 (tab 2.7 ) It might not be too long. Yeah , I know, its a different processor.

I hope that too. but I hope for Wi-Fi fix for current official rom first.
Present I use CM10 because I can't connect Wi-Fi in many sites. :crying:
I tried more solution but can't solve this problem
Don't expect to receive the update until next year for P6200 and 6 month (maybe a year?) for P6210.
I'm not happy with Samsung and I'm not alone.
I bought my gtab and a Sony smartphone 6 month ago.
In 6 month the phone receive 5 updates (3 GB and 2 ICS) and in the same time my gtab receive only one update (crappy Honeycomb).
Luckily XDA is here for me and I can flash ICS with Odin (but first attempt trigger the infamous brick bug).
It's a shame to spend for 350 € (I live in Belgium) and see our product forgotted by his constructor.
Long time ago I've a same story with a Toshiba tablet and tell me not to revive this with my new tablet.
I choose to buy Samsung to avoid this but this firm disappointed me.
One thing is certain my next tab won't be a Samsung.!

This is great news, but I hope that they fix the wifi issue. My wife's tablet cannot stay connected to the wifi, and it is like it has become worse the further away she moved from Honeycomb. I also hope that they reinstate App2SD ability and give us the option to add our own apps or shortcuts to the mini apps tray.. I don't care how long it takes to receive an update, just as long as they fix the wifi and app2sd issues.
Hopefully this update will bring more interested developers for our tablets.

Actually Samsung is pretty timely with updates - as long as there is NOT a North American carrier in the loop (So T-Mobile TabPlus users are probably screwed.)
Once there's a North American carrier in the loop - you're screwed with almost any device from any manufacturer. The Tab 10.1 received updates in a fairly timely fashion, the I9000 did too, and the I9100 seems to be coming along fine.

I am surprised
I am very concerned and surprised that Chinese tablets are coming with ICS 4.3, even Sony S tablet has already updated to ICS via OTA and our device still has the same version that is Honeycomb. The most amazing thing is that Samsung is mentioning that our device is starting to receive the updates but when??? They are saying the same thing from long time ago.
there are no ICS updates for this devices...???
just curious, samsung forget this tab
Nothing yet, I think Samsung will not update it.
Don't think there will be, since SS just released Tab 2 which is an ICS tab... (possibly to take down kindle)

But first....
It could receive ICS but Samsung needs to sell his new ICS TAB 2 devices to the customers who are expecting the new android version anxiously. the strategy works because many people prefer selling their old tablet and buy a new one.
We could just hoping that we WILL receive ICS.. we'll just need to wait n see..

Galaxy S2 phones in Canada began getting ICS starting in May. Given that phone came out about a year or so before the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus... well, some Galaxy S phones in the US only just got Gingerbread in May.
With that sort of precedent, I fear we might not get ICS until the Google Nexus Tablet 2 with the Tegra 5 chipset is released.
Our tab will get ics, its a known fact. As much as I want the ics upgrade, I am happy they have not released it yet because we would all be *****ing about the peel ap not working with ics and other things that make the gal plus tab better that the the basic tabs that did get the update. That's pretty stupid. Will your Tab not be able to browse the internet in a year? Will it no be able to stream media in a year? Will its GPS become obsolete in a year? How exactly will your tablet be meaningless unless you're simply using it to boost your own self-image?
Have you tried ICS on the new GT7-2? I didn't see all that much difference personally.
My hold out for ICS was with the Peel application. Their retarded engineers and support went on blaming the Honeycomb IR drivers for their application NOT working properly on the GT7+ (since aruond February of 2012 for me) and promised that ICS, and its updated drivers, would fix it all. Then out of the blue they release another update to Peel last night and all the change log says is "bug fixes". Guess what? They finally got it working (within reason) without ICS. Time will tell if I get random FC's again but for now it looks like I can live without ICS...
@fcorona76;
Couldn't agree more.
In my opinion, you buy a device becuase of its out of the box functionality. A new version of an operating system should be seen as a bonus rather than a selling point, in February, I bricked my Sony Tablet S - wasn't prepared to pay £100 to get it fixed so I bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7+ thinking that my Sony was lost in space and that this device would be better.
On May 31st 2012, Sony released ICS for the Tablet and I was able to recover my device - I actually forgot what a neat device it was, there's no lag with it, good functionality and I'm now going to sell my Galaxy Tab 7+ - it's just not what I expected from Samsung, maybe my expectations where high but at £300 I expected a pretty lag-less device.
Looking at the other ICS Samsung devices, it looks like on this device it will really only affect the visuals rather than the functionality, the only thing I would want with ICS is the browser supports CSS3.
To be fair, I feel a little "guilty" with my Samsung Tabet, I shouldn't really have to root and tweak it to get it to be lag free.
Just my ten pence.

Personally I have both devices and both provide me with enjoyable experiences. Is the 7.7 EOL? Probably but it's still a very worthwhile device especially viewing mp4 movies and any other visually-rich activities where space is an issue.
If you have the $280 to spare I'd pull the trigger. (You save FAR more than I did when I bought mine many months ago when it first came out!)

Same decision here and I chose the 7.7 after comparing to the Nexus. Even though its old and discontinued it still blows away the nexus IMHO. The screen on the 7.7 is miles better and you have the SD card slot. Also I am running JB 4.2.2 flashed following information from these very forums.

Hope it will give you much pleasure despite the fact that it is a low-end device, opposed to the high-end 7.7
GT 7.7 is better built quality than Nexus 7.
it's supposed to get JB as Samsung Thailand says.
but when this happen, already Android 5.0 will be out, and maybe 7.0 inch tablets with Full HD displays will out also, so if you like software upgrades fast and clean, go to nexus cause Samsung sucks at it, or wait until Full HD tablets with Android 5.0 is out.
it's still a great tablet. such excellent build quality, expandable memory, screen is amazing people comment on it all the time, option to get a pay as you go sim, keep it in there and get data as needed on a month to month basis, still quite fast with ICS. JB would be nice but not 100% needed plus there are some ROM options that provide JB like features.
im flying overseas this summer, right now there is no other tablet i would want with me. i can put multiple movies on here and watch them, and enjoy wifi wherever, and if really needed get wireless data also. what else could you ask for? well a nexus device with this kind of build quality, expandable memory and this screen. but that is not happening yet.
Dude ... the screen is really enough reason to buy that awesome device .. the only tab with Super AMOLED Plus screen !
and btw .. Samsung announced that it's going to have Jelly Bean update in Q2 i guess

So I'm pretty sure we are getting 4.3 at some point. Heck, if the Note 2 and S III got it, it's only reasonable that our Note 10.1 gets it. It was the flagship tablet of its (short) time, such as the Note 2 and S III being flagships/high-end. Everyone's been saying that Samsung won't update it to force us go for the Note 10.1 2014 edition, so why did the Note 2 and Galaxy S III get the update (ok, ok, Galaxy Gear blabla)? Wouldn't they force you to go for a Note 3 and Galaxy S IV? You get my point.
So, be prepared to wait (wait... wait... wai...), and official news about the updates *cough kitkat* are coming.
My guess is: Android 4.3 and no Android 4.4, unfortunately but thankfully.

well.. actually with KitKat the have gone reverse. like a phone with 512 mb can run it.
Some older model (2010) phones are capable of running a slimed version of kitkat
So there is no chance that our beloved note 10.1 couldnt run it
There are several other threads on this topic. It possibly depends on combinations of hardware and ROMs. I'm quite sure it started after the upgrade to xxucma8. It could be a combination of certain apps. But it's a nuisance.
NO Note 2 Phone updated
I keep seeing this several times on this forum . The NOTE 2 Phone has not got the 4.3 update. There is no word on when we will get it. A few days back there was a so Called leak for the [email protected] Version. Some have tried it on t-mobile(what i have note 2 phone. But with Large issues. I cant say how this leak is running on a at&t note 2.
So the bottom line is NO Update for note 2 phone.

Didnt 2014 just came on sale in Canada? I think this is the problem - 2014 model isnt even sold world wide. I think they want people to replace their old 2012 models to new one. If they update the 2012 model, people wouldnt see any reason to upgrade or buy newer and more expenisive device. Dont know... just speculating...
But budget price tab2 gets an update before their premium line device - this is something you wont expect to see and happen when buying a premium prize device. You expect to get a premium class customer care, dont you? Unfortunately it seems to be something special that Samsung cannot offer... A flagship without updates... so sad...

Samsung is known to be lazy but this is too much for a premium class flagship model. It's already 10months I got A4.1. and then nothing while my bfs budget prize Asus Tf300 has 4.2 (already 6 months ago).

Yes, it's true, Asus is superb, as always when it comes to firmware updates. Very close to Nexus line.
However, their QC is another story.
BTW, anyone who says Sony is great with updates haven't any experience with their VAIO line.
I think our tablet is officially dead and this forum as well. Now that many new cheaper tablets have emerged I don't think people use this anymore. Mine was gathering dust since ages.
Do you still use your tablet and for what purposes?

My p6210 is in Canada. We are still on 3.2 without an official OS update.
I recently updated to 4.1.2 following one of the suggestions from this site. It is nice to have the refresh. I wish it had been sooner. I would have preferred an official update rather rely on the benovelance of strangers on the internet. I'll never buy a samsung again.
For now, this tab still does what I need it to do, so i will squeeze a bit more life out of it. Also as it gets older, i am less adverse to taking risks with it. I may experiment with these new roms. If it bricks, i will buy a Nexus 7 or an Ipad Mini. Sorry, i want timely updates and not an obsoleted device after a few months.
Still on stock waiting for update... Use it for travel, GPS, and plan on using it for accepting credit card payments.
It's still my DD tablet. With 4.1.2 (stock just rooted, if I recall) its doing everything I need. Movies on the road, books, email, web and games.
Certainly drawn to the quad-core goodness on the market, but not enough to open my wallet. I'd rather go with a Nexus, but I'll probably stay with a Samsung for the micro-sd slot. Makes be crazy that Google went the Apple route and gouges you for memory. 64gb card, for $50 = 80GB tablet.
Still a fine piece of kit. Mine is rooted and has JB 4.1.2 (UK/Ireland version) installed along with CWM Recovery. I agree that the tendency of many OEMs to not provide a microSD slot is a PITA...in fact, for me it's a show-stopper.
ye, it is [*] ;_;
only Daniel support u, god bless him :>
not surely dead i think, our tablet still stands out from other new samsung tablets such as tab 3

Too true!
I still use mine as my primary tablet. It still is better than those cheaper tablets out there (plus better than the Tab7.0 v2).

I agree when comparing to the Tab 2 7.0 and Tab 3 7.0. Having recently acquired a Tab 3 8.0, however, that device is definitely a step up - better specs, multi-window feature, etc. and very nearly the same overall footprint.

Oh yes of course, tab 3 8.0 is better, i think the tab 8.0 is the successor of 7.7. Just my opinion :victory:
Far from dead for me.
I still use it daily.
Use it for mail, calendar, tasks, timesheets, notetaking, calculator, banking, ...
Do the occasional gaming and ebook reading.
I hardly leave home without this device.
I love the 7" formfactor because it so easily stores away.
I don't think I will be trading it in any time soon. The quad core systems are mainly interesting for gaming.
The only thing that might sway me to another device is a higher resolution (interesting for some websites), but devices with better resolution are usually a lot more expensive.
Thanks to people who still believe in our tab
Some may think it is dead but I think if anybody wants this tablet not to die go hit the thanks button on this thread because as long as we have people developing we stay alive.

To me this makes me believe it still alive and well.
I have only had my tab for 14 months Still in warranty but i would like to see people who have this tab support people who are making stuff for us in there own free time (like devid801 ) and only ask for a simple thanks that uses a few seconds of our free time.
My biggest concern is shrinking inbuilt battery!

I'm running 4.4 Kit Kat on mine. Crazy this tablet still has development and people are still supporting it. So its not dead yet. It still has some life breathing in it.
