Well I had posted my problem in the general section.I started running the script.it gave me some'oprand'error at every step which I ignored.the script ran til the end poof...poof...poof...POOF! Bang! The phone restarted as usual n never booted back.flashed xxxkpe.no use..after a while the download mode stopped coming.my phone was completely dead.luckily I was in warranty n got my motherboard replaced.
Mind u I ran the script many times before without problems.this was a first.

K.. I've never heard anybody complaining abt anything like this, so I don't know...

I can't say if the script had anything to do with longeal's problem.. If u still want to install it..
1. Download the latest Supercharger script, cwm flashable Busybox and the. Exe patcher zip for windows..
2. Flash the Busybox in recovery..
3. Run the V6 script.. Google on how to run the script and u'll find tutorials on how to with screenshots..
4. Extract the. Exe patcher zip file in ur pc.. Connect the phone in usb debugging mode.. Run the exe file.. The command prompt Window will guide u further.. Disconnect once done.
5. Run the v6 script again.. Choose ics service Centre option. Choose manual installation.. The script will let u know when it's done and them choose the super clean and restart option., that will clear dalvik cache and reboot.. That's it..
Just go through the instructions on the original supercharger v6 thread a few times.. They sound complicated but its actually very simple.. Cheers..

It goes without saying that everbody should do what you did, and ignore your sky is falling message.
1. You ignore errors, it's your fault - who knows what else you ignored apart from the script.
2. Operand error... which likely resulted in the script not even doing anything.
It CAN'T even do anything if your busybox sucked ass - which it did - since you had all those operand errors.

Never blamed u.like I mentioned..I ran it successfully loads of times.
As for the errors..I assumed it wasn't serious as the script did not stop running..sort of CRC error in computers which we ignore.
I never blamed u, nor complained I screwed up my device.I know its my fault.
I just posted it here as users, like me, who do not know linux should understand what they do.
' who knows what else you ignored apart from the script'.didn't understand what u mean

Line 5 boot error fix

Hey everybody I finally figured out how to fix the line 5 boot error that I myself had and a lot of other people are experiencing while trying to flash some roms. I was experiencing this problem for about a month while trying to flash ava v7 and v8. What bothered me the most is I could flash fresh rom. So I tried everything I could think of and nothing worked. Then right when I was going to give up I thought to myself what do I got to lose let me start from scratch and see what happens. So I unrooted using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780141 after I unrooted I upgraded to the new ota getting the new pri 1.77. After that was completed I rooted my phone using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=776477 and when that was complete I booted into recovery wiped everything and flashed ava v8 which was giving me the same line 5 boot error everytime before and it WORKED!!! It worked for me and several other people so far hope it works for you. I would also like to say thanks to ava for making such a great rom it really is awsome.
Why does this work?
Also why is ava so bad at making zips but not fresh... and lastly why does ava not do something about it....?

I don't know why it works it just does. I'm not a dev I'm just a regular guy who tries a lot of different things and found this out so I thought I should share it. As far as ava making bad zip files I wouldn't talk bad about one of or devs who work so hard on their own time to make us roms for free.

u dont really need to go over and do this whole thing... its just something in the update script that was probably off.
im assuming u dont know how to look at the update-script and such... thats why the whole long way of doing what u did... but hey... im happy u got it to work for u.
next time u might wanna try looking at the script in the zip file and maybe edit it a little your self and resign the zip... it not so hard to do, but i guess if u not sure how than your way would probably be ok.

ouch so harsh. i use the same thing fresh does. its all about the size and the script. i never used clockwork so to be sure that it would work on the recovery i changed things. this caused some issues.
I am doing something about this but its hard when i dont get the error and people that do get the error, report it fixed with V8 and some dont.
also i learned everything from flipz so its hard to surpass the master
ill be releasing a fix tonight along with some other things im sure you and everyone will enjoy

I figured there was a better way I will look into doing it this way I'm just not familiar with editing scripts so I have to do a little research on it but thank you for your input. The way I did it was probably long and could be shorter but it its still a good way for someone who isn't familiar with scripts.
I used the file at this link and my problem was solved. I was an un revoked user... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=752832 this doesn't require any data loss so maybe try before going through the whole hoopla of a un-root followed by re-root. Just my .02¢

I didn't root via UnrEVOked and I had the Line 5 error as well... while unrooting & re-rooting may take a while, it's the only thing that has worked for me to fix the LINE 5 error on the AVA8 install. Being that i'm not a dev, I don't know what AVA could or couldn't have done wrong with the ROM, but the problem with the install was not affecting everyone, and those that it did affect achieved root through different methods. So thank you AssAssin for figuring out a workaround, however rudimentary it may be.

Has there been a fix for the Line 5 error added to V8 yet?
I'd say no since I'm getting the line 5 error now. I even switched to amon-ra but i'm still getting it.
When you get the line 5 boot error it doesn't matter how many times you switch back and forth from amon ra or clockwork or wipe or do whatever you are still going to get it. I tried all of that even turn sign on and off and nothing the only way that I managed to get past it and flash the rom I wanted (ava v8) was to do what I explianed in the op. Hope it works for you too.

[ROM][CWM] T959VUVKD1 - Deodexed FIXED [6/9/2011]

Nothing new .. still stock KD1 ROM. All I did was fixed Krylon's CWM KD1. Yes .. this one will flash without any issue.
Same credit as the previous thread goes to whitehawkx, luckyduck69, and joedev.
And special thanks to badb4lyfe for testing it.
Instruction:
- Put zip file in your /sdcard
- Reboot to cwm recovery
- Wipe Data/Factory Reset
- Wipe Cache Partition
- Then proceed with zip installation
NOTE (6/7/2011)
I've fixed both ROM and edify script, I've tested it several times and flashed without any issue. For dev, list of things I did to fix this:
1. amend2edify tools is nice, but still not 100% accurate. I had to change and add few things to make it work, especially the permission. The boot loop that happened to several of you was because of permission to some of the directories wasn't set correctly.
2. Install app from both market and adb should be fixed. For some reason, both cwm that krylon built and odin version chmod /data/app directory as 755 and owned by root. This needs to be 771 and both uid/gid needs to be system. For dev, if you add apk to /data/app on your ROM, make sure the file permission is correct .. other wise it will break app installation process.
3. OS FC due when enabling wifi was fixed as well.
Special thanks to robbbit for testing this fix and dsexton702 for finding out the final piece. Follow dsexton702 post for how to

NEW UPDATE (6/9/2011):
As promised, I've updated the zip with kernel and modem this time. Also included few updates and fixes:
- Kernel and Modem now included (sorry about that).
- Cleaned up edify script a little.
- Added permission check scripts to check files and directory permissions after installation.
- Replaced modded recovery with a proper modded recovery which was for sgs4g.

Don't deodex and dump the rom again ... this ROM is already Deodexed and added permission script to prevent it from boot loop. Auto deodexer doesn't use permission script and for some reason sgs4g doesn't like that.
Were you able to flash this ROM, unchanged .. and boot from it?
Make sure you wipe before flashing (wipe factory reset and wipe cache partition from cwm)
i was wondering if anyone else had this problem..
rom flashed and boots fine. but when i go to install ANY APP, it proceeds to
download said app,
attempts to install
while installing the phone starts to vibrate (one vibrate, then 3)
then a black screen where the buttons on the bottom lights up
then it kicks me back to lockscreen.
no app installed no nothing. i was wondering if it was just me, or is this happening to anyone else?

Root sidekick quick and easy. One click with recovery

Guys so i wanted to root my phone and
1) i just didnt have to patience to do all the work
2) i didnt get some stuff
3) and i wanted to do this quickly and effectively
i found this youtube video after like an hour of searching and it worked GREAT. [Video and end of post]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
pretty much the instructions are to:
Download the drivers first *NECESARRY*******IMPORTANT. this is one of the ke things cause without this is wont work in the beginning
*JUST A MENTION*
i tried doing this on my 64 bit system and it wasnt as easy when i did it on my 32 bit.
so it could have just been my comp.
just a heads up.
64 bit driver:
http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOBILES/Samsung/Samsung-Galaxy-S-USB-Driver-for-Windows-x64.shtml
32 bit.
http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOBILES/Samsung/Samsung-Galaxy-S-USB-Driver-for-Windows-x86.shtml
After that you're going to download this file:
http://tinyurl.com/Sidekick4GALLinOne
this is the file/folder whatever that will root your sidekick and add the CWM.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^REQUIRES WINRAR^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok so to start rooting and the CWM
1) You're going to install the the driver that you download...64 bit or 32 bit etc.
2) after that you're going to set your phone to "USB DEBUGGING" when connect and ofcourse
connect your phone
after that your open up the folder thats called "sk4g root with good recovery"
3) ignore everything you see and just go straight to run.bat
4) click it and then wait, "Press any key to continue" press anything
5) let the thing run and you should be set at the end.
ENJOY
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
your phone will reboot during the process and that is ok
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
if your doing this to install a new rom i recommend ayoteddy's GingerCloneV2. if great and has barly any glitches

You cqnt just flash cwm from rom manager, you have to trick the phone into booting into a cwm "clone" there is a thread on how to do his, I am in class now, but when I get out I will post the link, or you may be able to find it.

This phone doesn't have much of a life left anymore anyway. Most people have already left. The phone was a great idea, just needed to have better specs and have a more open source. Right now its just on it's last breath. Kinda makes me sad, the keyboard was amazing. The doubleplays keyboard doesn't even compare. But I couldn't handle how slow a single core CPU is. As with most people.

Stuck In Bootloop Recovery

I am unable to exit recovery. Da_pharoah1 has been helping me one on one with the issue so far. I have tried a number of things from just rebooting phone too using the exitrecovery.zip, flashing another rom and same rom, clearing all date, cache etc, It seems like no matter what I do I am stuck in recovery. I am hoping someone can shed the light on this for me today. I believe it was around 12AM last night were I just gave up because the nvflash was not working because for some reason the computer did not let me update the apx driver. So please if anyone can help please do. I was using the hfp 2.2 GB ROM.

ok so try flashing hfp again and also make sure to flash a gb kernel. I messed this up. I had so many tabs open yesterday I thought you were on ics and I told u to flash an ics kernel to gb. so just flash a gb rom and a separate gb kernel for double safetyness and that should fix your issue.

I just hit you up bro. I have tried to flash the hfp 2.2 ROM and the gapps but it did not work. I was wondering if you think I should delete it then put it back on my sd card then flash it and see what happens. Also I have a nandroid back from May wondering if I should try that too.
EDIT: Also no worries bro. I should have told you I was on GB or confirmed the kernel was GB and not ICS. It is as much as my fault as it is yours.

problem is bro he cant install the driver.. he is stuck on cwm, and windows wont recognize the phone correctly... I had him format his /system and he gets an error. G2x batch is going to be resolution. I have told him to try and put his phone in that s/w mode with the yellow triangle then try to install the apx driver that way... so hes at work now and I dont think he can do that now. It may have to wait till he gets home. But if that dont work only other resolution I can think of is him actually sending me his phone and I can g2x batch it for him since I have the apx driver installed. problem with that is he lives on the east coast and I live in New mexico time in transit is gonna kill it... but gotta try only other way besides blowing cash on a new phone with tmous and they are blah right now...
He should have it installed. I guided him through getting cwm originally on there. Hey bambino, try using the nvflash rom for recovery link I sent you when you originally did the cwm and rom install. Should be in the chat logs in your gmail account.

Yea idk.. when I had him tell me what his device manger said in regards to his phone being connected it didnt match with mine. So Ive told him to try that tonigh and see whats up. I dont suspect he should have an issue once he does that.
edit:
just got confirmation. What we were doing was on his laptop... what yall did with him was on his desktop.... so his desktop will set him free...

If you have the V21Y baseband installed, try this: http://s3.amazonaws.com/lgforum.com...cking and Popping Audio Issue).pdf?1337877028
That's a hyperlink to a pdf from LG which contains a hyperlink to its V21Y Gingerbread update utility which works with Windows 7. I tested it and it works.
1. When you run it, after the update window appears, open Windows Task Manager with Ctrl-Alt-Delete and locate the program named "Download Window" and right-click on it and click on "Go To Process".
2. Right-click on the "SmartFlashTool.exe" process and click on "Open File Location". That will open the folder "All-in-On" where all of the files for the V21Y Gingerbread update are located.
3. In that folder there's an application named "LGUnitedMobileDriver...". Run that program to install the drivers then, after the drivers are installed, close the "Download Window" which first appeared on your computer's desktop.
4. Run the "SmartFlashTool.exe" program located in the "All-in-On" folder you previously located and opened through using Windows Task Manager.
5. Follow the instructions in the pdf file you accessed when you first started this process ( http://s3.amazonaws.com/lgforum.com...cking and Popping Audio Issue).pdf?1337877028 ).
Good luck.

Sounds like its time to fxz, unless u can get into recovery and flash a flashable busy box .... it might fix stuff for ya...

Nope this is not fixable and an FXZ is the ONLY way. Once you remove busybox, it will bootloop you, and there is no fixing it, even by trying to put it back in place from CWM, because CWM can not even mount /system after this since, mount won't work, see my comments below here:
The reason you NEVER, EVER remove busybox after installing it, is because there is a little mini version of busybox that motorola puts in our software load called motobox, and it only has a small subset of commands that are linked to it, like mount, umount, fdisk, format, etc... these are low level *nix commands, that the OS needs to work correctly. Once installed busybox will break those links to motobox, and put it's own in place and link those same commands and a ton more in /system/bin, to itself, but when it uninstalls, it does not re-link motobox to those commands, so.... you can see where this is headed.
I have also seen this do very nasty things to most other phone models as well, not ours or motorola, in general.
FXZ finally !
Thank you guys !
I fxz'ed my phone and it worked.. (though not to mention that when I uninstalled busybox, my phone only had 20% battery, and when I tried fxzing my phone through RSD lite, it kept giving error for low battery, then I finally managed to get an external charger and charged the battery..) huh.. lot of work but happy at last ! and learnt a lesson !
