I like the s note but it dont have alot of features i was wondering if there is sny more apps out there
hello, i think i can help you since i only bought this tablet for sketching.
the apps i use are the following :
sketchbook pro, layer paint, infinite paint, tvpaint.
sketchbook pro is the best app for sketching, only 5€. the good points are the powerfull brush engine that allows you to do smooth lines, it s the best app for drawing, the interface is very user friendly. You can also export your sketch in psd. The cons are that you can t change the canvas size so you are limited to 1280xsomething and you can only make 6 layers (why i wonder...).
layer paint 2€ is an alternative to sketchbook and very powerful too, brushes are smooth but not as much as sketchbook, you can make a lot of layers and canvas size is unlimited (don't try too wide). It has less tools than SBP so it's less flexible when you want to correct something. I don't know why but i don't like the brush engine, not very natural... some might like it though
infinite paint is very basic and rough but it has interesting brushes that allow you to make funny drawings
tv paint is the most powerfull app and has the best brush engine of all but it's a beta so the interface is terrible, it's an animation software so you have to learn how to use it. it's free so just try it.
some of my sketches: first is sketchbook pro, 3 others are layerpaint. you see the first one is much smoother.
At the play store there 2 free infinite paint apps do you know what the difference is?

i don't know i only have the classic full version. Maybe the Note version might be better but the one I have does support pressure sensitivity.

Anyone have a recommendation for a good photo editing app? There is an excellent one for iOS called Photogene, but the developer says he does not plan to do a version for Android.
I've been disappointed with the PhotoShop apps. I'm looking for a straight photo editing app, not something to create strangeness.
Suggestions? TIA!
I'm using Photo Editor by dev.macgyver -- it's basic, sure, but it does what I need it to do and it does not produce all kinds of ' funkygraphs'. It does a sepia, black and white, brightness correction (both linear and gamma-based), (channel-based) color corrections, resizes as well, I think, and so on. I didn't like the mobile Photoshop app either. Photo Editor is free, so give it a whirl and let us know what you think.
PS: I sound like a second-hand car salesman, hahaha. I am not affiliated in any way, shape or form with the aforementioned app or its developer.

Thanks for the tip, will take a look. Looks like fun on the PS, at least.
PS Touch (Photoshop Touch) is pretty easy to use and has a lot of features for editing, cropping, color and brightness levels etc......

Haha jk. The Photoshop elements app or w/e is probably the most detailed editing app available for now, but i read there are issues with the resolution and dpi settings being capped ridiculously low. Also it isn't a free app, its $9.99 i think.

Hands down, the "best" photo editing app is PS Touch. It even comes with GREAT tutorials (15 of them I think).
If you want something free there's a plethora of them.
Photo Editor is the one I use on my Samsung GS3, PS Touch on the Infinity.
Try Perfectly Clear, just came out for Android recently. Pretty darn good at automagically fixing up photos plus there are manual corrections you can do too. Wish it had cropping though.

I use the "fix dark" tool in Perfectly Clear regularly and it does a fine job even at full resolution. Considering how expensive the desktop plugin is the app is an amazing bargain.

Thanks for this tip! Like others, I’d noticed this but never really knew how to work with it.
In case you haven't seen it there's a very nice free note taking app called "Papyrus Beta". You can easily set it up so that you use the stylus to write and your finger to erase.

I like this. Very simple not to many bells and whistles.
I wish they would have an assign option to set different pen sizes. Meaning going from light to bold easier.but other than that I like it.
I can't wait to see what they add down the road. The video sounded like some good options will come.
I've been using this app a great deal and very much enjoy it. Great for taking notes and simple vector based sketching.

Yeah its great! Only needs image import and markers to make it a 5 out of 5.
I posted reviews of a bunch of different note taking apps here:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-note-10-1/202997-taking-notes.html
My biggest problem with Papyrus is that it does not support exporting/sharing a multi-page note as multiple PNG files. It will only export multi-page notes as a multi-page PDF.
I'd say it needs that plus also a (much better) way to add text to a note (similar to how you can with S-Note) before it's a 5 of 5.
Very useful app.
Hi.
I am still on the fence on buying a galaxy note 10.1. I was thinking of using it to replace my xperia play as a cellphone and my m200 tablet pc as my main drawing/fun tool. I'm thinking of retiring the m200 since the color replication is awful due to the awful viewing angle and the fact that it is very slow (celeron 1.7ghz ftw).
I normally do drawings using photoshop or Artrage. The features I always use are the following:
1. Open another image on the same window to use as a reference image (PS, artrage)
2. I enable grids on both images to ensure accuracy to help making a 1:1 copy easier (PS)
3. Gaussian Blur + blending modes (PS, to make an easy glow effect on a duplicate layer with certain blending options
4. Use of natural materials (Fake paintbrush texture, paper texture in artrage)
5. Creating an image with a high resolution like 4000x3000
6. Smudge, Burn, and Dodge (PS)
7. PSD Output
Is there an application for the galaxy note 10.1 that has most of these features? I checked and the GIMP has not yet been ported to android...sadly. I'm not picky about pressure sensitivity since I never learned to use it well enough on my m200. I prefer setting the brushes manually for predictability.

1.You can use Overscreen floating browser for reference.
2.Grids - you can prep with a layer template in PhotoshopTouch or SketchbookPro
3. These are all in PhotoshopTouch
4.SketchbookPro has options for pen pressure to control opacity or radius of brush, and a selection of 90 brushes - not sure if you can make custom brushes.
5.Latest PhotoshopTouch update says it supports 12 megapixel images. Oem .apk has not updated, but I have purchased previously.
6.PhotoshopTouch has Smudge tool, but not dodge and burn, but can achieve results with layer modes.
7.SketchbookPro also has PSD output
I prefer layerpaint to scketchbookpro. I suggest that you buy and test both. Layerpaint allows only the spen imput, if configured to do so.
i haven't found anything perfect yet. i like sketchbook's brushes, but layerpaint's ability to make a high res image. i don't really use ps touch since you have to use adobe cloud to open or save psd, which is sad since sketchbook and layerpaint can do it natively.
Is there any alternate to S-Note with equally good sensitivity in terms of pen. And widgets for any selected note ?
I've heard a lot about papyrus and have used it myself too, and have used a lot of others but never found any equivalent to S-Note.
is there any ?
Autodesk's SketchBook Pro. Made with SPen SDK from Note 3. It uses all features of the S-Pen (Note 1, 2 and 3) including AirView, Help Button and Pressure control. I'ts amazing and professional. You can do even a 4K resolution draw without problems. Download it (XDA is plaggued of his APK) and have fun!
SketchBook Pro is a drawing and schetching appm not a note taking app. I have tested almost everything there is... some come close to SNote but not better.
Check this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1798117
This is one is good but only in the paid version https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.steadfastinnovation.android.projectpapyrus

That's based in Spen SDK too, but its too similar to S-Note. Sketchbook Pro it's a lot more faster and have the same things as S-Note (Shapes, Figures, add Photos, etc draw with textures like Dirt Smoke, Grass etc and anything you want.
i like GNote. i always use it in tw and also in cm roms and it has s note sensitivity

If you are not very much in the drawing or S-pen thing then Google Keep is a very good alternate and the good thing is it is based on cloud and you will get it updated always among all your devices, i.e. (mobile, desktop, tablets, etc).
Try this one, DIONOTE it's very close to S-note but has other features as well. Designed to work with Spen as well.

Hey guys,
I would like to know which vector design apps are the MOST POWERFUL with a LOT of features on Android? For example, desktop photoshop has a feature that curves texts, and this is a very uncommon feature for mobile art app cause they are pretty much lacking a lot of features. iPad has many more featureful apps in this area, but I want to buy an Android tablet because I design and publish themes for Android, and I want to stick with this OS for my phone and tablet to keep up to date.
I tried Medibang, but it seems to lack some important features like drop shadow and outline, but I don't know if it's just that I can't find it. I tried Autodesk Sketchbook as well, but that one is mostly drawing, and not creating logos, icons, etc.
So, what is the MOST POWERFUL vector designing app for Android tablets/phones?
Does Galaxy Note devices come with an app like this? How featureful is it, compared to desktop level apps like photoshop?
Thanks so much in advance for your help!
