[Q] Best online website to buy tablet safely? - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
I was looking at buying a Ainol NOVO 7 Mars as it suits all my needs. I am just unsure where to buy it from.
Does anyone know a reputable website to purchase it from? I ran across a few but have no idea if they are legit or not.
Also any opinions on the tablet itself? I know its single core but I think thats okay for me (just looking to read stuff on it mostly, ebooks, lecture notes, etc.)
Cheers for the help guys!

I tried multiple stores and I can recommend spemall. Pandawill is another legit store.
As for the tablet: I had an Ainol Novo 7 elf. Same specs basically but single core. I was quite happy with it so I think it should be fine. Of course spending a bit more and getting a Nexus 7 would be even better
//edit:
Thought it was dual core. Seems like it's similar to the old elf. Anyway, even with single core it's good. Don't expect it to react like lighting all the time. But for that price it's a great tablet. You should spend some time on ainol forums (slatedroid ie) to get the most out of it with roms.

Hi - I bought my Ainol Novo 7 Basic last November from Merimobiles.com it was a good price, quick ship and good customer support. They always respond quickly to questions I have. They are good about keeping firmware and updates up to date on their site for your device and you can subscribe to their notification service for your device, and it will send you an email when there is a new firmware update available.
good luck with your Mars.

[Q] buying in the UK?

Buying in the UK
Hi
I purchased one of these on ebay.com and had it shipped to here. Unfortunately I ended up having to pay £50 vat at customs. I have seen them in Amazon but they havr been priced at around £450. Including the VAT I had to pay it still worked out at about £270. I only received the tablet yesterday, and the first thing I did was to flash the rom to TNT lite. Love this machine and it works so smoothly. Hope this is of some help

If I lived in the UK I'd just get the advent vega.

Yep. Looks like pcworld has the vega back in stock... just get one. Its easier..
I got mine to Portugal cause a friend brought it to me.. else would try get a vega
thanks guys for your help[= been looking around and seemingly people are getting these g tablet roms to work on the vega which was my main worry in buying it[= thanks for all your help[=
I bought it on Ebay and it took about two weeks. One reason I bought it was because the support for g-tablet seemed to be much more than for the advent vega. Another important reason was that advent vega ran out of stock!! Both are good I think.

Velocity micro cruz reader r101

Hey guys,
Hey I am looking at buying the Velocity micro cruz reader r101, and was wondering if any has it and if they are having any luck at rooting it, i heard the market place doesnt come on it, and just in general was wondering if it would be a good buy for ($119) from amazon. I have been doing a lot of research and it looks like a good buy for that price on a 7 inch tablet. So any comments or anything that would be great. Thanks guys.
R101 gets a 7 out of 10 in my book
I have an R101 that I got from tigerdirect for $110... Just FYI, I have heard there have been best buy sales at $99, and I've seen them sold on eBay used for $60.
I like it... the main issue is that the touch screen doesn't accommodate my thick stubby fingers, though from what I've read on other forums, there is a "learning curve" for figuring out all the tricks to using the display. There also is not much room for apps, but there is an apps2sd script that you can use to store apps on the internal sd card, which fixes things up a bit. I wish I had another tablet to compare this one to for you, but this is my only android device (besides my nook).
The R101 has been rooted, it's very straightforward. You don't need to root it in order to use marketplace, just update the ROM. If you get the R101 (rather than the 103), then you'll want to stay clear of the 800 MHz ROM's because you do risk bricking the device. My understanding is you need to ROM it in order to root it anyway (but someone can correct me if I'm wrong).
Here are the instructions I found helpful:
just google the following:
slatedroid r101 macho cruz
and select the second result in the list (CRUZ READER ONLY - Step-by-step for Update, Root and SetCPU)
(sorry - I'm a new user so can't post links)
Using the ROM in these instructions is risky on an R101, but using the original macho cruz rom that they link to is less risky. I used the original, and I'm very happy with the results... I use my cruz probably about 20% of the time browse the web, just because it's comfortable to hold and read from. As with all tablets, typing isn't as natural as on a keyboard.
Hope this helps...
Cheers!

Interest in a tablet

Hello xda community!
I am looking into buying a tablet soon, and am wondering what tablet I should get for this will be my first.
I would like it if the tablet had an active developement community.
Any suggestion?
Thanks!
-icraft
If you have enough money to spare and a bit patience, i would wait for the transformer prime and see how it is welcomed in the developement community.
Besides that, the acer iconia A501/A500 are not bad.
If it should be a bit more low budget, check out one of the amazon readers. Most have received android custom ROMs.
I am willing to wait for I would still like to do.more reasearch. I probably wont end up buying anything until Q1 2012
Any other suggestions?
Transformer Prime is defiantly the best choice. Quad-core with ICS, can't be beat. I have 2 tablets, and I think tablets are great.
Hit that thank button if I helped!
What kind of price tag are we looking at for the transformer prime? Hopefully 600-?
It will be around there.
Hit that thank button if I helped!
Ya will be around ~600, its 600euro incl. keyboard on german amazon.
I just researched a lot on the tablet and came to find that it will be launching with honeycomb and the price for the 32gb version is 499$ USD
I will be looking into this tablet, thanks.

Looking for Reliable online Shop

Hey people Merry christmas and happy new year in advance.
I am looking for an online shop that sells android phones like goophone i5 or HDC I9300 and other awesome copies. I am from mauritius and well stuff are rather expensive here and by expensive i mean Real Iphone 5 is lets say approx USD 1100-1300. And well i really dont want to use that much money on a phone.
I've seen some sites like fastcardtech, chinaecarts and others, too many reviews with many different opinions and bad experiences like wrong product etc and also scam. Figured i could ask help from you guys.
Any links to some shops with good service, aftersales, response, handling, shipping, honesty. Well lets say great shops all in all. Please post them with any reviews and personal experiences that might help me out.
Or if you know high quality android smartphones for under $300 that play in the category of the likes of "LG Nexus 4, Galaxy S3" Lemme know.
Thanks,
Arshad

I'd recommend Everbuying. I sometimes get stuff from there and I find it pretty trustworthy

ok so i have settled for this phone. But i am still unsure. After much research there are too many conflicting answers and reviews.
1 moment scam, 1 moment good, 1 moment something else. I've even looked here and its the same. I don't know if its unsatisfied customers or people who never had any experience with them.
Could some people with experience with buying from android-sale.com light my path plz.
Thanks.
Hi folks. Did anyone know GlaDeal Store? It's trustworthy?
Update (13 March 2017)
After buying a Redmi 3s international got no reply for few days, then, after my second e-mail, they reply that: The phone wasn't available (but still available inside the online shop) then offer me to send me another phone, or refund. I choose refund cause Xiaomi (unless it is marked as international or global) it's not working in most of Europe country's due to the lack of Band B20 (800 mhz). They say the give refund the day after... I wait 2 days and nothing happens, so i call PayPal and pass the pratice to they. Curiously after vistit my shop account-board I saw that the refund was started, but with 8 euro less to the total amount that i pay for the phone.
I'm still waiting for PayPal for a reply. Anyway, they grant me for a total refund of the price that I paid.
Plus:
The online shop has security issues about SSL and DNS traffic. And this is not good at all for a shop that pretend to sell stuff online.
Greetings

Tablet Recommendation for Me

I am looking to sell my iPad and get a android tablet. I have the s4 phone and I love it, I also have a samsung laptop that I love as we'll so I am leaning towards a samsung tablet. What would you guys recommend, I have been looking at the note 8.0 and I have read mixed reviews so what do you guys think?
It's a solid tablet, but it all depends on how useful that S-Pen is going to be for you. Otherwise, if you're looking to get the most bang for your buck specs-wise, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

Sero 7 Pro!
The $149 Hisense Sero 7 Pro is a great Nexus 7 clone available exclusively at Walmart, and occasionally you can find cheaper refurbs online for about 80-90 bucks. I got mine this June, and it was a great purchase decision! I've just recently rooted it and am running Dolorespark's dopaROM v1.1, which you can read about here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470998 There's also a Kitkat-based ROM called Taktik (get it?) that I haven't tried yet as the camera and mp3 aren't working properly yet, but good news: Hisense just released the kernel source code today, and it looks like ROM development for this tablet is about to really take off! You can read about Taktik here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2536116
Good luck with your future tablet purchase!
